Greetings, everyone.
I have an Xperia ZQ (C6503) which suddenly started rebooting itself continuously about 5 seconds after it enters the system (after the SONY or Xperia logo). First I tried removing several apps, deactivating functionalities on the short time available after each reboot.
I tried, then, flashing the STOCK Android 4.4.2 and 4.4.4. Nothing.
Did the process using PC Companion, it updated but still nothing.
Unlocked the phone (don't even know why I did that, guess I was desperate and thought this could help).
Tried flashing a custom ROM. Same thing.
As the mobile is warranty void (I bought it 2 years ago) my question is: is there still something I can do (something that they would try on the customer service, for instance) that can be attemped or my only option is to dispose of this cursed device? :/

Firstly, you've made a major mistake - you didn't take TA partition backup, as a result you've lost your DRM keys forever.
Secondly, have you checked all the boxes for WIPE'ing? (Data/system/caches)
You tried to flash custom rom through recovery or using fastboot?

Hi, thanks for the reply.
None of the tutorials I followed mentioned anything about this TA partition. What is this and what are the DRM let's? All the boxes were always checked for wiping on classrooms and I flashed the custom ROM via fastboot.

DRM keys is like a signature of the phone license. Without DRM keys your camera won't take good phones with drm keys, clear audio and bravia engine stops working either. Pushing any other phone's ta-partition backup will lead your phone to hard-brick.
Anyway, give a try to flash generic .ftf, or via phone recovery

Although it wouldn't recover the DRM keys, wouldn't this solve the issue you mentioned?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672
I flashed several generic and specific .ftf and all of them presented the exact same result (the system didn't load correctly and the reboot loop continued). When you say via phone recovery you mean the PC Companion method? I did that, too and - once again - the result was exactly the same :/

Yeah, excatly only this way could restore all the DRM features.
About not working, I don't have any other ideas, sorry for that :/
Use Emma to flash it. (Emma is a PC software) When you have started the application connect your phone to your pc while it is turned off and while you are holding the volume down button.
You could have a corrupted partition('s) which may prevent flashtool writing the images. Possible solution is to fastboot a custom kernel and format EVERYTHING you can in recovery.
Then try to flash a stock ftf again. Good luck:thumbup:
If you have an external micro sd card in your device take it out and then reboot your device without the sd card. Worked for me.(on xperia z c6603) The sd card caused the bootloop. Why it caused the bootloop i still don't know.
And if that does not work, wipe your dalvik cache in recovery
need help
greetings
may u help me with that?
my xperia zq is with this reboot problem. i'm searching for solutions and i had not found anything about DRM and partition backup yet.
how do i do it?

By any chance did you try to unlock the bootloader and lost TA partition and DRM keys? If yes , try to relock bootloader then flash ftf

ee, I never did that, but thanks anyway.
How did you try reinstalling? Use a .ftf with Androxyde's Flashtool, provided you're able to boot into flashmode (if you can't, sorry bro, you're screwed). Flash everything, but uncheck DATA in the Wipe section if you want to keep your files - you'll lose them otherwise (your apps are gone anyway). This should work, as I've bugged, bricked, and bootlooped my phone more times than I can count, and this has always worked. If it doesn't, then I don't think anything can help you.
Good luck.

Unfortunely, nothing helps. Flashtool doesn't, SUS also nothing, I sent my phone to the servis.
Hi,
I flashed CM 12 on stock rooted Android 4.4.2 and that soft bricked my phone as I had forgotten to unlock my bootloader and I think I also didn't wipe /data
I cleared cache, dalvik cache and /system only before the install. I still had access to fastboot though so I unlocked the bootloader and flashed boot.img from CM12. After this I used "fastboot reboot" and after some time the phone showed SONY logo then purple symbol, I pressed volume down to get into recovery which didn't work and this happened once again. After this I tried to use fastboot again but this no blue led came up and instead a red led lit up after a delay of few seconds.
I have currently left the phone for charging through a wall socket as I remember the battery being around 15% when it all began.
Any ideas?
EDIT: The phone booted up into CM 12 but all of my data is missing.

you cant go to cm12 without wiping your data!! now, your whole data is lost! also you have lost your drm keys, so you wont be able to get warranty services, cause sony is able to notice that you have unlocked your bootloader. Also you wont get acces to sony features like bravia engine or video unlimited in future, even when your back on sony stock rom.
for the future: take a nandroid backup and after that flash a custom rom!

The no warranty thing is bullsh*t lol don't worry about it I had a Asus transformer with unlocked bootloader and I bricked the touch screen driver -> replaced for free
Hard bricked my XZ1 which was unlocked -> replaced for free
I don't know any company where unlocking voids your warranty

Flash Tool than root, install nut recocery and restore your backup
Help, First time flashing a ROM on a Sony phone. I have experience flashing, unlocking bootloaders and rooting, etc... but I normally do this on my Samsung phones.
So... This is what happened. I recently tried to change my Sister's Xperia Z (C6602) ROM so I could try if I could get 4k video out of its incredible camera. But I didn't have any knowledge on how it is done on a Sony phone. I researched on various sites how it is done.
First I saw NUT's dual Recovery and I downloaded it so I could get Recovery on the phone. I downloaded it and I tried using the third option which includes rooting. But I couldn't get it to work. It seemed like it couldn't root the phone properly. So I tried using vRoot (failed), tried an utility that I found while researching and I got it to root. Went back to NUT's dual recovery, installed Recovery, everything wen't excellent to this point. Sister didn't made backup so I couldn't flash the ROM yet.
Researched how to Unlock the Bootloader, saw that Sony let developers unlock the bootloader and I did it using fastboot and the code from Sony, the wrong part is that I didn't backup the TA Partition (Had TA Backup utility XDA site open on chrome but didn't use it since I thought nothing would go wrong if I didn't make a backup of the TA partition) and yes I lost the DRM keys... After this I found out that loosing DRM keys means no Bravia Engine, Music ID, etc... (I hate you SONY )
After loosing DRM keys, I was worried that my sister would kill me, so I searched trough XDA and found that you could get some functionality back from recovering the TA partition and flashing a zip from jimRnor but I needed to flash 10.5.A.0.230 ftf using flashtool. So I did it. relocked bootloader, flashed 10.5.A.0.230, booted to 10.5.A.0.230, turned off the phone, unlocked bootloader using flashtool, used recovery to flash the zip, and done.
So this is the part where I made the phone not work... (And I deleted some of my sister's photos because unlocked bootloader without backing up woopsies)
Sorry for the long story...
Wen't to recovery, tried to flash iHackers v5.2 but somehow the file didn't downloaded correctly, got some errors during installation and I turned off the phone to go check what happened that I couldn't get the zip to flash. And by turning off the phone. It somehow got corrupted or something and now the phone won't turn back on. It stayed with the LED on red. I found it strange so I pressed Power + VolUp for like 5 seconds and it turned off, and then I tried turning it on again and nothing happened. Tried different combinations and nothing would happen. lastly I tried using Power + VolUp + VolDown for 20 seconds and now it is flashing 3 times a red light on the LED. and this is how it has been for a while.
So please, has anyone had any experience with this type of problem, what should I do and what I need to learn for the next time.
P.D. Yes, I didn't know that Flashtool could do everything from rooting, backing up TA partition, unlocking/locking bootloader. I found out after I had some time using the utility.
P.D. I can't get access to neither flash mode or fastboot mode, PC won't recognize the phone.

Hahaha woops, wrong forum, going back to Xperia Z forum :cyclops:
And Btw I can't flash anything phone won't even boot to Flash mode...
I found the exploit a while ago that allowed root without unlocking the bootloader.
It worked fine, and I used backupTA to backup my TA partition - it ran successfully.
I then unlocked the bootloader, installed dual-recovery and flashed a lollipop rom.
Things have been great since then.
Then I decided to restore the backed up TA partition.
It restored fine - no errors, all checks OK. Then it prompted me to reboot.
Now my phone does not turn on. Black screen, long pressing power makes it vibrate once and then thats it.
Plugging it in yields flashing red LED. Holding down power then causes the LED to come on solid until I let go.
Nothing else happens.
Won't boot to recovery or fastboot.
PC does not recognise anything as connected when its plugged in.
This behaviour seems to have happened to others, though never from this. No reports of successful recovery that I can find.
Questions:
Does anyone have any idea what I did?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Any way at all of recovering it?
Any chance at all that warranty will apply? Like, if its bricked badly enough can they tell I ****ed with it?
Thanks

Ok so If you flashed a rom with an unlocked bootloader then restored the TA partition this re-locks the bootloader, meaning a custom ROM can no longer boot up
Sadly yes they would tell you stuffed around, since you had a custom rom installed if you sent it to be repaired they would be able to see that there is customized firmware on the phone
Your device does seem bricked although if it was a hard brick I don't think any lights would be working. I have done something similar where I had no operating system installed and again with cyanogenmod and a locked bootloader (Never do that)
Try these steps to fix it
Install Flashtool (Don't worry about a firmware just yet)
With a USB cable ready hold down the *Volume Down* button and keep holding it in while you connect the USB to the computer
Look at the light area when you are holding volume down and plugging it in, does it go to blue then green then off?
If it does congratz you can now flash a firmware (Stock firmware) via flashtool
If it can't get into flashmode, comment and I will see what else you can do

Thanks for getting back to me
I feel stupid now though - I had despaired and I happened to be in the vicinity of a storefront of my local carrier, so I decided to just take it in. Didn't tell them what had happened, so I'll just wait to see what they say now.
Thanks again though, I appreciate the effort.

Xperia SP stuck in bootloop!!! Please HELP!!!
Ok here's the short story.
I made a mistake and accidentally flashed the wrong zip file and now my phone is stuck in bootloop.
It is Locked Bootloader C5303
I have a twrp backup of my previous rom which worked fine but i am not able to access any recovery, the phone just stays on the sony logo and then crashes.
I have tried fixing my phone with pc companion (which has worked before) but now when i try it the software says the update service engine for my phone is not available.
I have tried the androxyde flashtool to reinstall the stock firmware but the flashing stops and says that it has completed flashing system.sin with errors.
I don't know what to do, is there any way of restoring backups without accessing the recovery or maybe there is a way i can access the recovery.
When i hold the volume down button a green light comes but nothing else happens.
any solution will help, i don't mind returning to stock either.
Any help will be eternally appreciated.
Thanks

Give me some details
1. Windows version(7,8.1 or 10)
2.Flashtools version
FYI, if you are on windows 8.1 or above then you have to first disable driver signature verification and then proceed with installing drivers.
