Ok,thanks.
You mean restart Recovery or not?

No, I mean what I wrote. When you press the Power button from the Fastboot screen it will go to the HBOOT screen, look for a file named 0PCVIMG.zip and try to install it.

Hi jdmedeiros,
I loaded this RUU (which is the correct ROM for my htc 510 bought in Singapore) to the micro sd card and it runs and then return error message "Device halted due to large image update fail. Press power to reboot."
I have rooted my 64 bit htc510 and some reason I may have deleted or uninstall the wrong apps, my phone is not able to reboot to factory default and always hang at the white screen with htc logo.
Anyone knows how to find this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Is your bootloader locked?
if (bootloader is not locked) {
1. reboot phone to bootloader (it will say fastboot usb under a red bar)
2. from the pc run "fastboot oem lock" (the phone will restart and come to the bootloader screen referred to in point 1.)
3. press the Power button; it will go into the HBOOT and if that is the right file for your phone than it should install.
4. let us know if it worked... we like to know
}

I am able to see fastboot usb. When I ran "fastboot oem lock", phone restarted but ended with the attached error message "status read failed. (too many links)". See attached file.
Now the top of the screen has 2 new lines :
"*** Relocked ***
*** security warning ***
Please help. I tried various method but still stuck with the boot screen or went into bootloaded screen but not able to install anything.

It works!!!
Made a stupid mistake : didn't insert the microsd card when I rebooted the phone in fastboot.
Took about 15 mins to complete the flash. Now back to the stock rom.
Will root the phone again later.
All this will not be possible without your generous help.

Very good! Now when the phone reboots and you are looking at those two lines *** Relocked *** *** security warning ***, meaning that you are in the bootloader screen, press the POWER button and it will go to the HBOOT menu and install your update, as long as the file is in the root of the sdcard and is called 0PCVIMG.zip

I cant paste this zip on sdcard. Its allways say Phone is not connected or phone not response..any idea for fix it?

Remove the sdcard from the phone and insert it directly into the computer (after you place in the carrier) and then copy the file to the sdcard.

do you have a backup font?? if yes, you can push the backup in while you plug your phone, run the adb command and restore your fonts. seem like some fonts don't working and make Tattoo can't boot.

Are you sure you are trying to enter hboot/fastboot the right way? If you see the "tattoo"-logo, you should already be through hboot.

Apteem,
If you see the "Can't open /cache/recovery/command", your in recovery mode.
You need to be in Fastboot.
Power down your phone.
Press Volume Down and Power at the same time.
You should get a white screen with 3 skating androids.
The hboot will scan for several files on your memory card.
When it is done, press the correct key to enter fastboot.
"Fastboot" will appear on the screen.
Insert USB cable.
"Fastboot USB" will appear on the screen.
Launch the RUU utility in your PC and flash away.

Do you have a goldcard, or have you made one?
EDIT: To get fastboot menu as mainfram3 posted above, HOLD DOWN VOLUMEDOWN (on the side) as you boot the Tattoo up. You will get into a screen with androids on skateboards. Give it 30 seconds, then download the offical WWE ROM, extract it, run the EXE and follow the instructions.
If you are failing to do this, well, sorry, but send it in for repairs under a "downloaded new update and won't boot anymore" excuse.

i don't have a gold card and i failed to do RUU. my tatoo is device in HK but i live in thailand.
apteem:
The key of making a goldcard is the sdcard's CID. You should borrow another android phone running donut kernel from others and insert your sdcard to it, get the CID(the way discribed in other thread) and make the goldcard. btw, RUU can't run without java VM.

[solved] Bricked? How to remove CWM ?

"I checked everywhere and I can't fine it. How to remove this horrible CWM ? Anything . I need anything! I tried to install 4EXT when CWM was still on and phone now seems to be bricked. It doesn't want to boot into the system or recovery. It just hangs on HTC white boot logo. Please help."
This should have been posted in the General section, not the Development section.
If you can boot the phone into HBOOT, then you can flash a new recovery image in FASTBOOT USB mode.
If you have more questions post in the GENERAL section after you have searched.
- Problem is, that when I try to flash anything it's loading it (I can see green uploading animation in HTC) but it isn't writing it (I can see quick red uploading animation) and nothing happens afterwards...
Could you recommend particular recovery image please ? I'm very tight on time.
hey ive had this happen to me before when i first started. the way i solved my problem was boot into fastboot and run the ruu it will restore everything to stock then run revolutionary to get s-off and flash cwm. then download 4ext recovery and in the app u can flash it straight over the top of cwm
heres the link to find your ruu

I tried your RUU yesterday late night but it won't work. Only way I know to do it is to rename it to PG32IMG.zip and have it autoloaded by unlit. But it let's loaded (green loading animation) and than red loading animation which finishes but dissent make any changes I will try to find stock Rom (stock recovery?) With exe and try to flash it from console via windows. I would be happy if you could advise which file to flash as I travel and can access only wiz gprs on other phone which cost me dear and I can't really see anything I wouldn't mind to also format everything including memory where cwm or 4ext sits if its possible. I'm sorry to ask for that but will appreciate links if someone done it before due to those restrictions of searching through roaming oon company phone. Thanks guys.

Have you installed the HTC drivers on your PC? If you have installed HTC Sync to get the HTC drivers installed, make sure that HTC Sync is not running in the background or System Tray.

I had it enabled as well as fastboot disabled but now i don't even have a system. all i can do is to power into hboot. i cant get into recovery (that's where cwm and 4ext was sitting and it hangs everytime i try to access) nothing else. i had separate drivers for htc but i have installed and updated htc sync. will kill it everytime tries to run. i still cant get over this connection problem. RUU advised above have broken or payable links. the one i tried to install is from here: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...igned_Raphael_52.58.25.30_1.11.25.01_Ship.exe
could someone be so kind and actually send me a link to the file that i need to insstall to finally got it moving?
i am at the moment so confused by searching thought topics i completely lost my point. please - be so kind and direct me to some downloadable link and to whatever i need to flash...
on another note - can I wipe everything somehow and than install from scratch ? (by everything i mean also the place where CWM is istting)

If that is the RUU you tried to install, no wonder you are having issues. That RUU is not for the IncS, so it is a wonder you can still even get into HBOOT.
Try this one:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...5AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_signed.exe
The problem seems to be coming from inability to connect/recognise my device in first place. I will try this suggested Rom today and let you know in few hours.
Logically thinking - what could go wrong with this phone ? I had CWM which I wanted to remove. I couldn't so I tried to install 4ext to overwrite it when I lost hope. this didn't work. Than I tried some "stock Rom" which came out to be dodgy and I'm in situation now. It's S-ON phone and all I can do is to get to hboot. But I am still cautious about this connercition error 260. I hope its because of wrong file I tried to use previously... But.... I will troy files suggested here. If that won't work - what will be next step ? Could I let's say try to download gingerbread and install it from .exe ? Would that fix it ?

My hboot detects it, loads it but nothing happens afterwards. I will try like that if the file is not corrupted. Did anyone checked it personally ? (this particular file)

I was using the previous version (2.5) just fine and just went to GooManager and I assume that GooManager will download the right for me.
I opened GooManager and click on Menu then Install OpenRecoveryScript and then I manually rebooted to recovery once the download finished. And that's when I get stuck on "swipe to unlock"
Filename was "openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-m7wls.img"

Thank you sir! I am new to this so I am learning as I go. I read that these are the steps to follow to do an ADB Fastboot. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks again for your help.
1) Download the above file. Save it to the root of your /sdcard directly (internal memory only) and rename it to "twrp.img"
2) Turn off your device. Turn on the device and keep holding volume down until a menu shows up. Select fastboot from the menu list.
3) Plug the device into your computer. Run the following command via the command line:
fastboot flash recovery "twrp.img"
Bless.

What sucks is that without 2.6 working properly, I won't be able to flash any ROM with the new android version (4.2)
Aldo101t said:
well, thats the right one, i would suggest that you manually download the file and install using adb fastboot.

Did you just recently update your firmware to the new base? The reason I ask is because after I did I used the the firmware with the bootloader and recovery included. I had reflashed TWRP 2.5. Well I noticed that the method of holding down volume key and and power button would not work for me at all whether I was in the os, bootloader or recovery. So I flashed the Rom I was on again and it fixed it. So I am wondering this is what is happening to you. Maybe just let the phone lose charge then plug it in reboot to the os then into bootloader and flash the 2.5 TWRP recovery. Only thing I can think of your not bricked

Given all the issues with 2.6 listed here, should I update from 2.5 to 2.6? Also, if TWRP says 2..5.0.0 at the top of the screen, how do I know this is the wls version?

look at the zip file you download (openrecovery twrp-2.5.0.0-m7wls.img) m7wls tells you its for sprint.or m7spr whatever
there is a new version 2.6.0.1 but i don't know if it still has bugs or not, i'd stay at 2.5.0.0

I do not have a separate file. I think my TWRP came as part of some bigger ( root, recovery, permissions) package. I would think it was the Sprint version, but I keep having slight problems - those system apps try reboot after install, but in my case they do not. I have to boot manually, and after each recovery reboot I get a "reboot error notification". Can this be related?

actually you can search your pc temp folder for the romu.zip while the exe is running
This is the instructions posted by Scotty85
I'm just re-posting it for you

Quote:
here is how you extract rom.zip:
Quote:
the .exe utilities can be finicky,so if you have trouble getting it to run, you can extract "rom.zip" in the following manner:
-start the utility
-check the "i understand" box to move on to the next screen
-hide the utility temporarily out of site
-search your C drive for "rom.zip". you will find it in a temporary location(it will be in a different spot each time you run the utility)
-open the folder location, and transfer rom.zip to a safe location on your PC.
-unhide and cancel the utility, youre done with it.
-rom.zip can be flashed using
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
fastboot flash zip rom.zip (yes do this 2 times)
fastboot reboot
Quote:
here are some directions to flash "rom.zip"
if youre working with a booted, operational phone, you can flsh the file in the following manner:
-open a cmd window
-change to adb/fastboot directory
cd c:\foldername
(cd c:\mini-adb if youve used any of my guides )
-place the zip file you want to flash into adb/fastboot directory
-enable usb debug, disable fastboot, plug in phone
-check for connectivity
adb devices (should return serial number)
-boot to fastboot
adb reboot bootloader
-check for connectivity again
fastboot devices
-flash the file
fastboot erase cache
fastboto oem rebootRUU (will put you in ruu mode, black screen silver htc letters)
fastboot flash zip zipfilename.zip (will send and flash the file. dont interupt it while the cmd window shows its writinging, and the green status bar is moving on the phone screen)
*sometimes a file will fail with a pre-update error. this is normal, just enter again:
fastboot flash zip zipfilename.zip
and this time it will finish
-when you get "finished" and "OK"
fastboot reboot-bootloader (takes you back to fastboot)
-reboot back to the OS
fastbooot reboot
you can use this if you dont have an operational phone as well. you just need to manually put the phone in fastboot(select from hboot menu) then skip the "adb" commands and start with fastboot devices
to answer your other question, yes, you will need to re-unlock and re-install recovery after running the RUU. an ruu is designed as an "unroot" solution, or emergency fix,if other attempts have not made the phone operational.

[Q] HTC One, tampered, unlocked, S-ON, no OS, device not foun on laptop. Cluster****.

Hi xda!
I recently got a HTC One from a friend, as my old phone was worn out. It turned out he had rooted it, tampered with it, the whole nine yards. I was not told he had rooted it, so I accepted a prompt asking me to update the phone to what I believe was 4.4.2, KitKat. I now realize that should not have been done. When the phone restarted it went to the HTC startup logo, into a kind of blue screen (not the BSOD), the Google logo flashed on the screen for 0.5 seconds, and then it got stuck on this weird blue/turqoise screen. Nothing happened.
I called my friend, he told me he rooted it etc., and that I should try a factory reset, and if that didn't work, complete reset (including the system folder wipe). That obviously didn't work, but I didn't know any better as I have never touched a rooted phone in my life, and I'm thus a complete noob when it comes to terminology, what steps to take and so on.
Now I have a phone with no OS, stuck at the HTC logo when I start it normally, and all I can do is boot up into bootloader. I can also access TWRP. I have installed HTC Sync on my laptop, but the phone is not detected properly (meaning, the "device connected" sound is played, and I can find "Android device" in device manager, but the HTC Sync can't find the phone) when connected through a USB. It is not the USB that came with the phone. I also installed Squabbi's HTC One toolkit, which basically is the one-click interface of pushing revone etc. to the phone. Problem is, "error, device not detected".
I've browsed around for a good six hours without any luck, other than that I've started to understand how this is all connected.
Phone is

S-ON
HBOOT 1.44.0000
RADIO-4A.14.3250.13
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot
I pray to the mighty tech gods of xda to help me out. I looked for similar threads, couldn't find any that were simple and similar enough for me to understand. I must admit I'm very keen to learn this, so if someone know of any place where basic terminology is explained, I'd really appreciate that. Other than that, a step by step instruction on how to proceed from this cluster**** would also be highly appreciated (what I need installed on my laptop, where I can find ROM's, what flashing means etc.).
Thank you in advance!

well a lot of the work seems to already be done
your unlocked / rooted which means you should have a custom recovery installed.
boot the phone by holding the power + volume down
this will bring up the bootloader. use the volume key to choose recovery aand hit the power button. when you boot into recovery come back and report the name and version of recovery. I.E. Teamwin recovery 2.5.0.0 or clockworkmod 6.0.3.1 ...I'll be here the next couple hrs

Version of TWRP is 2.5.0.0. Currently trying to re-install an OS. Need one that the current version of TWRP can flash to the phone, as flashing a new version of TWRP does not work. I have no preferences when it comes to OS's. A stock OS (is OS and ROM the same thing?) would be fine.
Also, found out that doing stuff on a Windows 7 laptop was easier than on my own Windows 8. The phone is at least detected on the Windows 7, which means I will be able to flash stuff to it through cmd, something I wasn't able to do from the Windows 8.

Well your going to need adb / fastboot on your PC
use mine here >> https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wzwt8843zx27nh/Fastboot.zip
and install the HTC Drivers here >> http://www.mediafire.com/download/j55vk6qbbr6250c/HTCDriver_4.8.0.002.exe
unzip that to c:\ so you have c:\fastboot in windows explorer
now inside the folder you shift + right click / command prompt here
now you have a command prompt window type
fastboot getvar all
and post the result here / minus your serial number and IMEI
then i can find you the correct recovery and rom for your phone
