Hi guys!
Personally I'm a fan of CM DSPManager and AudioFX (originally ported from OPO), so I decided to do this mod on shamu like I did in hammerhead.
You can use AudioFX in any non CM ROM, it works with audio tunnelling and gapless offload playback (which is good for your battery, with top quality eq).
Just flash on your favorite recovery and profit (it will remove crappy MusicFX.apk)
Tested on Purity ROM 5.0 with Code_Blue Kernel.
Should work in other setups also.
v5.0.19 Initial Shamu release
Big shouts to CyanogenMod team, all credits to them.
I also added Eleven music app, CM did a good job on it.
Enjoy!

Does audiofx work with any player or just eleven player? Also, does the player offer any benefits over others?

Works with Eleven, Play Music and any other that use standard android sound routing.
Just test it and see
Thanks, I will. Installed on my n6 and my n7. I had been using DSP through bluetooth in my car and it didn't impress me at all, looking forward to driving to work tomorrow and seeing if this sounds better.

I installed. The apk. From OP post it kept crashing so I made a backup of it with Avast after that I changed the zip file to AudioFX same as back up avast made placed it in the avast backup folder and then ran a restore. Now it's working. I like this as i had to switch to stock for repair of the small crack by the microphone. And IR blaster..thanks for the file.

No, this is an equalizer, for call volume/gain you need an in kernel sound driver like faux sound, present in Code_Blue kernel for instance.

Any theming coming/there?
There is not enough theming for anyone to tell, but I may add more theming depends on how popular this ROM is and how many people want theming. I will defiantly be adding a dark keyboard though.

What did you install through? Also what system apps force close? The freeze up is more of a Droid 3 Kexec issue, but apps shouldn't be FC. Didn't experience that issue, been running great for me.

Don't flash gapps, they aren't needed, already have market on there. I might of removed the theme apk by accident, I'll see about adding it back if I did. The battery does die quickly on this, I"m gonna add a battery tweak in next version as well, hopefully it helps some.

Rom seems to work fine. Installed gapps, they seemed to work fine as well.
Two Issues:
1. This is funny but swiping left (towards the camera), will reboot the phone, since there is no camera app.
2. Calender app is missing.

Threw a working Kitkat 4.4 Omni-ROM build together. Its late here, so I upload it for your pleasure and then go to bed. More details tomorrow. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Working:
- HSDPA+ (I have no LTE capable card, so I cannot test LTE, but HSDPA+ works)
- Bluetooth
- WiFi
- GPS
- Camera
- Video
- Sound
- Hardware Acceleration
Not working:
- Launcher3 crashes, using Launcher2 for now
- SELinux is set to permissive for now (otherwise data and cache do not mount)
- Nothing else found .. yet

Patches:
I attached the changes I made as applyable patches in a zip file. To build (maybe for pollux_windy too):
1. init the Omni ROM 4.4 Repo
2. make "breakfast pollux(_windy)"
3. replace the ".repo/local_manifests/roomservice.xml" with the one from the archive
3a. If you use pollux_windy, change the pollux repository in the roomservice.xml to pollux-windy
4. patch ".repo/manifests/default.xml" with the manifests-default.patch"
5. patch the main tree with the source.patch
6. copy the libqc-opt.so to vendor/sony/pollux(_windy)/proprietary/lib/libqc-opt.so
7. make "brunch pollux(_windy)
8. Hope it works

Any chance of a fresh build for pollux? been running it pretty happily, however it does a couple of odd things (like opening last app when you unlock screen, even if you had already closed the app) which I haven't noticed on my n5.

.v3 Extra Loud
All sounds boosted by 6, Extra Loud Level sound increase. personally untested, could cause a crackle sound when music, ringtone etc is

.v4 Lite + Headphone Increase
Same as Lite, apart the headphone volume is increased slightly more, tested and is ok for a boost to your tunes
It would be a good idea to do a nandroid backup before hand.

I have seen in the stock recovery where it will flash an 'update.zip' but have always assumed that was for full system ROM updates from Samsung/AT&T. I've never seen a way to flash mods or ROMs without a custom recovery.
