I tried flashing a sprint Os on a verizon model.. Didnt work.. But the phone will not TOT back to stock. The Flash tool reads that its wrong TOT for the Phones Version.. Download mode shows it as a sprint now. Help please.. Phone was originally rooted then twrped. Then i tried to flash the sprint os. Well now im confused on tbe next step. Anyhelp i can donate.
If you can get into twrp still, all you need to do is wipe system, flash the 26a bootstack zip followed by the restore download mode zip that are located in my vs980 2.3.0 thread in the development section. Then you should be able to use one of the tot/kdz methods to return to stock.
Also, this should be in Q&A
yeah no twrp.. all I can do is get download mode, volume down usb charging battery status, and splash screen boot loop.. i just tried to use the flash tool and do the TOT and dll from the Sprint variant .. that didnt even
get as far as the picture above

So i just got a brand new LG G2 , wanted to start straight with a custom rom, read that it was safest to take the 11A onwards route to be safe cause the new way the bootloader is flashed may cause hardware issues.
So i flash the11A tot
Root using IOroot
install PhilZ recovery using Flashify
then from recovery pushed the 11A to 24A zip.
i tried installing the Malladus rom however it completed in 5 seconds and i dont think it really flashed
Rebooted to TWRP ( Which i suppose came from the malladus) tried the same, ofcourse did the factory rest too , still the same
Then tried sideloading which gave me the error code 7
tried another file which just didnt push itself
What am i doing wrong here , if someone could shed some light the best way to get from 11A to kitkat would be much appreciated.
i have installed the TOT now back to 11A.
nm figured it out , had to reboot recovery post updating the bootloader for kitkat
Hey folks. I rooted my Verizon G2 last year and kept the original ROM. When the original OTA Update came out. the phone would download the ROM, but there would always be an error that stopped the ROM from being installed. Eventually Verizon stopped sending the update. I have tried to back up my ROM to attempt to install an updated one, and the phone will not boot into recovery mode. I've tried using CM Rom Manager and TWRP, with no success. Is there something I'm missing?
Anyone out there? I could really use some guidance, please?
First of all I'm not going to Flame you for not using the search button...
1. Do you have a recovery installed that you can use to flash with? Or can you get into download mode?
2. If you have a recovery you, need to restore download mode. This website you will need to download a file called "Restore Download Mode" and flash it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715408
Then in you will need to follow these instructions in one of these methods.
VERIZON ONLY Revert to stock GUIDE [UPDATED] tot method

LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) kdz method

Then you should be able to update your software. These methods will probably erase your phone so back up anything you want to save to the computer. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me out. I did use the search function, but I guess I wasn't savvy enough to really get a grasp on what to do, from what I read. May I ask? Is it really necessary to go all the way back to stock? I just want to flash an updated ROM that is current with what's out there. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, Like I said, I'm having a little trouble with the jargon out there and I don't want to brick my device. Thanks again.
Depends....What rom are you on now? And do you have a recovery installed?
I don't have a custom,ROM installed. I justrooted tje phone. I have Clockwork Mod Rom manager and TWRP installed. When i tried to use Rom MANAGER to back up my Rom, i got tjedead android with a red triangle. When Itried to back up with TWRP i got a blanck screen and had to shut down and restart the phone.
If you don't have a rom and all you are on is a rooted stock. Then try going into twrp and do a factory reset then report back. If you want to do the update you need to unroot. And you will need to flash the download mod file. And do a factory restore again to clear everything out. If you want to put a rom on the phone try

So I flashed the Alliance Rom for my t-mo Note 4 and all I get is the boot logo.
I've gone through with Odin and the CF auto root junk, used TWRP to wipe and flash this rom.
I got TWRP on there, but I can't seem to put any files onto my phone. Like I select mount, and when I try to drag a file over, windows wont let me.
You see, I've got this error, and it says Kernel is Not SEandroid enforcing. I have looked for a fix, and people say that I need to flash a file called stocK_kernel, which I have.
I can't get this file onto the device it seems. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on?
EDIT: tried flashing another rom using odin and now all i get the t-mobile logo...
and I can't register for sammobile because I can't pass the captcha !! It's frustrating... I can't download what I think I need >_>
Any help would be awesome
I know this is a typical problem, I've been around XDA for a while, but never made an account until I decided to actually root and try to flash my device.

A ROM using ODIN? Which one? If it's Lollipop...and you are on the T-Mobile logo screen, how long did you wait? It takes ~10 minutes to boot. But, if you are on the Samsung screen, there is a problem. So, I'm currently thinking you are not waiting long enough?
Try putting your rom in the extsd or internal and flash from there.
I would grab the stock firmware and flash that using Odin. Don't forget to factory reset using stock recovery after flashing stock firmware.
Just start over.
Then root and install twrp, once your back at square one, then put your rom of choice on either of the SD locations and flash using twrp.
A bootloop after flashing a rom is usually, in my experience, a kernel issue. So it couldn't hurt to have an alternate compatible kernel to flash if you need it.
If you have TWRP all is not lost. If you flashed the stock ROM then you probably don't have TWRP anymore. Its just about impossible to wreck this phone by flashing ROMs. I would ODIN to the stock COD6 build. I believe there is a thread with all the files you need in one zip. Follow those instructions and it should get you back to stock rooted and you can go from there with flashing ROMs again.

No the rom doesn't use Odin. But I imagine the person had to root and flash a custom recovery as well. The rom of course had to be flashed in recovery.
ok so I was on a 4.4.4 ROM and decided to go back to stock via the 39a kdz and then root and flash @MicroMod777's extreme v1.1 ROM. I could never get past the bootanimation (lots of different combos omited to make long story shorter..) so I restored my nandroid back the 4.4.4 ROM, I tried to boot into DL mode again to start fresh again and my DL mode was gone, so I did flashed the 26a bootstack and DL mode missing fix, that restored DL mode to what I assumed was functional, in that it booted and into the DL screen. I tried restoring via the 2014 flash tool and the 39a KDZ I had used previously.. It gets to the updating software and errors at 2% every time, I have redownloaded the 39a file, I even flashed an older bootstack, I have tried different kdz files, i have tried a different computer where i know the drivers are "fresh" no matter what the KDZ will fail at 2%.. I have even tried what I assume is the official LG tool and it errors at the same point.
Weird thing is I just flashed the 39 extreme v1.1 rom and 39a bootstack and I have a fully functional phone, I just can't kdz back to stock.. it's really not the end of the world but it bothers me..
I am just posting this here to see if anyone has heard of a similar issue or knows of a fix.
thanks!

I have that same problem!! Could really use help!!
Why not use xdabbebs full revert to stock zips if you cant kdz?
Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g2/development/vs98039a-stock-fw-t3051560
Also, do you get any sort of errors when the kdz is running? Are you using the correct dll per the kdz flashing posts?

Ok a little backstory. So I just got a Verizon G2 and put it on Straight Talk, everything works great.
I rooted via Stump Root. I was on Version 27A
Installed TWRP via AutoRec
Flashed the latest CM for the VS980
Flashed gapps
Gapps install failed, now I get the LG splash screen, then just a black screen. Phone won't boot or anything. Any thoughts on what happened or what to do?
This is the link tot he gapps I downloaded and tried to install. http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=nano
The options I chose were:
ARM
Android 4.4

If I need to go back to stock, I need to know what the latest version is that I need to flash for the TOT file.
Currently in the process of going back to stock via LG Flash Tool. Nothing is working. Returning the phone to stock is not working. On the phone itself it just gets stuck at 1% and doesn't move when I choose "CSE Flash." When I choose "Normal Flash" it's just stuck at 0% and doesn't move. It doesn't fail, but it doesn't move either.
For reference I was on 27A and am trying to restore 24A
Phone is restoring now after using the TOT method to restore 24A, and changing the model dll to the LGUP dll file.
