So I've rooted my Z3c using dual recovery method, and later on flashed the Rectify mod, and everything seemed to be working well until I wanted to flash a file in recovery (I know I had CWM working at one point) but it is not working. I found the little NDR tool in the Rectify mod and tired the various recovery options (previously I would just use up on volume key). Well this is when I started noticing it not working and so I tried the manual volume key approach and still it is not working. I installed busy box and have found that can sometimes cause problems with NDR/Recovery however I attempted to uninstall was going to try different location but that's broken now too... I think.
So anyway, my problem is, if I re-install DualRecovery it still does not go to recovery.
Please help me get to Recovery mode so I can reflash rom.
Thank You
Have you installed a different busybox, most others aren't compatible with XZDR and will cause this kind of issue.
I'll tell you what I did, I downgraded firmware using flashtool, followed the dualboot method to upgrade while re-rooting and confirming recovery along the way (this seems to work) then as soon as I install rectify (making sure to flash dualboot flashable zip file before reboot) I'm no longer able to access recovery, not manually or using NDR. I also didn't intall busybox yet.
Oh boy what now, I'm back to square one.
I'm an idiot, what's the rectify mod? Point me to a download link and I'll see if there's something in it that's causing issues with XZDR.
Edit : I see its rectify rom. Well it most likely includes it's own version of busybox, hence the issue.

Hello everyone!
I installed the liquid smooth custom rom yesterday, and it worked fine! I also tried it with the OC kernel. Was a bit of a mistake...
Now, the rom is unstable with the OC kernel on my device, but that's not really my problem.
The issue is that i can't enter recovery! I checked with CWM manager and TWRP and CWM recovery are avaliable, and i can activate them both in the app, but i can't enter the recovery.
Tried hardware buttons(vol up + home + power), rebooting from the app(cwm manager), rebooting from the power menu (i have the reboot into recovery option) but i can't get into the recovery.
It's quite annoying because the phone is unstable and the only option is odin it to stock rom and temp cwm it back to where i was, but that seems a very tough job... (last time it took me over 2 hours... don't know why but it kept failing, did work eventually...) I do have backups, one made with CWM from current rom with no-oc kernel (the stable one).
And i have another custom rom that i backed up with TWRP. Don't know if i can do something with them...
I can do stuff on the phone, so even with the unstable-ness i can do things if needed.
i am trying to get into recovery with terminal, but wifi is ruined so getting the phone working long enough to download it via mobile data, quite difficult... But i keep trying.
edit: tried terminal, no success
Does anyone has an idea how i can get recovery working again?

Tried that, but UKF says device unsupported, don't know why... I have used it before and it worked then.
Any other options?
I got it fixed. But tbh i still don't understand how. I flashed JB stock with odin and when it rebooted, i got automaticly into CWM weirdly enough... Wasn't going to waste my maybe only chance so i flashed the custom rom, wiped everything again, reboot, went again automaticly into CWM. anyway i was third time lucky and it booted as it should. Everything is working now! Anyway thanks for trying to help.
Well, not a singlle answer after so many views for days, but thank God it doesn't matter anymore, I was able to force the solution for th issue anyways! Issue resolved, if you have updated to 5.0.2 and have rooted your device before or after causing it to lose WiFi, please check out my solution for this issue here, it may very well prove to be your definitive solution. Thanks!

Installing the 5.0.2 OTA while rooted completely and utterly broke my WiFi. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get Wifi to work again. In the end I gave up, and just did a full factory reset from recovery. My recovery version btw is TWRP 2.8.3, and after installing the ZIP ROM update from the first post of this thread TWRP stayed, I didn't have to install it again. So anyways, I let it boot up and then rebooted back to recovery to root on recovery exit, which caused bootloops for a little while until I used Power+VolDown to go back into recovery and installed the SuperSU 2.45 zip from there. NO MORE PROBLEMS! It's just, PERFECT!!! Finally, no more long waits while booting looking at the logo, no more bootloops, and most importantly: by only using the recovery zips to root and never trying to root from the system or allowing it try to update SuperSU from the Play Store, NO WIFI ISSUES, from the very start all is just perfectly functioning, soooo smooth and really fast! FINALLY!!!!!! Really happy here, so remember, for XT1064 TWRP 2.8.3.0, and SuperSU 2.45 should really do the trick. Good Luck!

Greetings, all. I'm a big fan of using Xposed modules for my phone, especially YouTube Adaway but since I upgraded via kdz to 5.0.2 this evening I can't get Xposed to run even after reboot using the apk found in the Xposed lollipop thread. I tried to check the log files to be able to post the output here but it won't read those either. Has anyone been able to get this to work and if so, how? Any help is greatly appreciated as the main reasons I root is for ad blocking and titanium backup

Did you flash the zip on the thread also?
I did not

My bootloader is still locked so to my knowledge there's not a way to flash a zip without a custom recovery (TWRP, CWM and the like). Maybe I read the thread wrong and you had to both flash the zip and install the apk
Edit: Yes, that is correct, I read it wrong. The zip must be flashed for the framework to install. Is there a way to flash a zip without a custom recovery? This is the first phone I've had with a locked bootloader, all the other ones I just installed a recovery from here and ran/modded it

The L90 of D415 has a unlocked bootloader by deafult, I never unlocked mines and flashed recovery, Just flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/development/recovery-twrp2-7-1-0lgl90w7xxshoxx-t2826150 using Flashify, download the img and open Flashify and select flash recovery then select that image and in that app you should be able to reboot to recovery to flash the xposed zip. Since I've never tried it I dont know how well xposed runs on stock lollipop remember to backup.

Thank the gods for that then! I am leaving tomorrow on a trip and need my phone fully functional for the duration (hooray GPS) so just to be safe I'm going to hold off on flashing the custom recovery until I get back on Monday and will also flash the Xposed framework then as well and report back. Thanks for the help! I will update this thread after flashing just in case others are looking for this to say whether or not it worked.
Hello,
I was able to get xposed running well on 5.0.2. However i didnt flash stock kdz, I flashed a modified stock ROM found in the development section (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/development/rom-l90-d415-lollipop-xtreme-v1-0-4-25-t3092813)
After flashing the ROM as described in the link above, i rebooted to recovery. I then flashed the xposed zip file. After that, I wiped cache and dalvik cache (VERY IMPORTANT to avoid any storage errors). Finally I did a normal boot, and it installed perfectly. Hope this helps! Best of luck my friend
Sorry for late response
Turns out my boot loader was in fact unlocked. TWRP through Flashify and then install the zip through there, then install the apk and reboot again. Thank you both so much for the information!
Correction

While Xposed installed and worked it also soft bricked my phone in that I kept getting "unfortunately com.android.phone stopped working". Not sure if it's the program itself or the fix memory leak module I installed. Thankfully I had a backup right before I flashed that zip and it appears my phone is working again. Not sure if I will try to install it again without the memory leak patch or not. Thoughts?

Sadly, this also led me to restore my stock, modded KK backup. What I found to be a temporary fix is to wipe cache/data for the phone apk as well as the SIM Toolkit, then reboot. It appears fixed for some time, but then reappears. This problem seems to arise whenever you use wifi or mobile data, and goes away when you switch them off (at least that was my experience).
I think that the main culprit is the Xposed framework itself. I was told by others it's not fully compatible on stock LP for the L90, but still tried it either way. I got too many mods I like to not use Xposed, so I rolled back to kk. If you can live w/o Xposed then try LP with no framework and see what happens. Best of luck!

How sad I will continue to monitor the Xposed threads then to see if/when it's fully functional with stock Lollipop.
I was in panic mode with my phone yesterday not working because it happened right when my car decided to also quit working so I saw those possible fixes as well and neither worked. Thankfully I backed up through TWRP right before I flashed the Xposed zip so that save my butt,
Edit: The flashable zip seemed to be a good workaround and got everything done in one go. Fingers crossed from here on in.
Hi guys, this is my first post here, so please go easy on me.
So recently my phone screen cracked and I had to send it off for recovery.
The company wiped and upgraded my firmware, but I did my data backup as a nandroid backup, so I have to get a recovery installed to restore it.
I have managed to unlock the bootloader and flash this version of the firmware : - D5803_23.4.A.1.264
I am simply trying to root the phone so I can get SuperSU onto it and the method I used last time uses CWM. However, when I try to install CWM I can access CWM, but otherwise, it goes into a boot loop and I have to reflash that firmware to restore it, which deletes the CWM. The CWM version I can flash does not seem to be able to restore nandroid, so it's fairly useless.
i have tried downgrading but then the phone crashes on startup. I noticed when I restored to the current firmware above, the phone had kept all my settings, so I don't know if there's extra I need to wipe, or if I'm not flashing correctly.
Now I have used PRF tool to create a flashable zip, that I thought might be able to do the job for me if I can get something to install it. It has the working firmware, SuperSU and dualrecovery in it.
I have done this all before without issues, but the new firmware version is making things more difficult.
So questions are;
1. Am I flashing incorrectly when downgrading? Or is there some other factor at play preventing me from doing so?
2. Is there a way I keep the CWM and flash the working firmware? Like it would go into boot-loop but then I could get the normal systems operating again and have the phone rooted, continuing the work. I figured there might be an option in flashtool, but I didn't want to press anything without confirmation from someone.
3. Is there an easier way to froot this? Last time I was able to use giefroot, but now it says my kernel isn't supported.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not new to modding my phones, but I'm not advanced either. Let me know if there are other details I can give that might help.
Thanks.
Hey guys,
I know I know, I was stupid to try to get this working but I tried and failed. Now I'm just looking to get my old phone back and just leave it at being rooted (with custom recovery installed) and a custom rom. All 3 of these I had successfully done before I installed the framework zip which is where the problems arose.
I'll give you as much information as possible:
Phone: SM-G935F (UK version and on EE network)
Rooted with: CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f
Custom Recovery flashed: twrp-3.0.2-2-hero2lte.img.tar
Other things flashed: UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323.zip
no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip
Custom Rom flashed: KryxxOS-R1.3-G935F.zip
All of these were working and I should have stopped here but with the new Pokemon craze I really wanted Xposed installed to use the modules for it however massively regret it. I wish to get back to this point.
Zip used for Xposed: xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip
Phone initially wouldn't do anything apart from show a battery (not charging (grey icon with lightening in it)) icon when connected to power. And it would ONLY do something when booting into download mode allowing me to go into it. It seemed the custom recovery was no longer working. I then tried everything, flashing back all Stock firmware for my model using ODIN and correct files for my phone (G935FXXU1APF2_G935FEVR1APE2_EVR), that didn't work. Even when installing only AP, all 4 using first HOME_CSC in the CSC and then using all 4 using the CSC file in the CSC. Then I tried using Smart Switch's recovery system, this failed also. Then I remembered hmmm, I can try to reflash my custom recovery using Odin. That WORKED. I thought great now I can do something and sure enough I could wipe my phone and access my files on my phone again when rebooted. After the reboot I tried just re-flashing the SU, the no-verify and the custom ROM thinking it would take me back. It still didn't boot. Black screen nothing. The last thing I attempted was to flash the Xposed Framework uninstaller and used this zip : xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64. I didn't know what this asci files were so I didn't flash them? After flashing the uninstaller, I again flashed SU, no-verify and the custom ROM. Nothing. Still nothing. However...whilst I was typing this, because my phone was connected to my PC and not stuck in DL mode or anything, it's now randomly come up with a battery charge. 3% so far but I want to wait until its higher before I risk trying to turn it on. Could it have been a dead battery all along whilst trying to fix?
I'd appreciate your help even if its to clarify that the battery seems to be the problem. I'll keep you posted with it throughout the night but if it gets sorted tonight it means I don't have to go into the city tomorrow to buy a fix. Thanks to all who post. Ask if you need anymore information.
Chris
hey, how did things go now, is it back to normal... rooted with TWRP and your custom ROM of choice ?
