Get 10 posts. Gives you access to being able to post in the development/phone specific sub forums. It also gives you access to have signatures, post in the marketplace (where you sell phone and phone related things), post outside links, etc. Also, you may want to avoid this specific sub forum or just mainly DanWilson. He's dangerous and may get you banned/hack you. Also, people like it when you use the search feature at the top of the page instead of just posting in a sub forum. I'm not really against or for this. But many people get (VERY) angry. Sheesh. Have fun, and enjoy.
Yes I'm feeling helpful today OT.

How many post u need to allow new users to add links because i want to post a thread about fixing my phone and to explain carefully i need to add links? Im just asking.

10 posts should get you the ability for external links if i am correct.

Well, you'd wanna use some lube if it is your first time, because going bareback might hurt a little for both parties.
You'd also wanna ease it in a little before going full force.
I'd give you more advice but I see PDL here and he's probably more experienced, what with his marriage to Dan and all that.

Don't use this site. You're gonna brick your nice new phone, and by the time you get it to work again, a newer, better phone will have come out. Forget this site, go look at porn insread.

[Update] radio S-OFF confirmed but still looking for a copy of untouched partition7

Hi!
I am working on making a version of gfree (the tool to s-off, supercid and simunlock the vision, dz, dhd, ...) for the incredible s.
For that I need the backup copy of an untouched partition 7
You need to be able to temp-root your phone and when you have temp root run the following command:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p7.img
If you are willing to help please find me on irc on freenode channel #g2root or post the image here.

I am still looking for an untouched partition7 to make sure about the sim-lock data, but we do have radio S-OFF by incsfree.

Hi!
This is one of the best jokes ever.
First it has nothing to do with the xtc clip.
Second if you are refering to a thing that is called something dongle, then you should know that this thing uses 95% code that is taken from GPL code written by scotty2 and me. Even if they tried do obfuscate this by encrytion.
The whole thing is a single big GPL violation that uses our code.
I have nothing against using GPL code, thats why we released it that way, but i have a whole lot against using this code for a commericial product while violating the license.

Why don't you get your facts straight before making a comment like that. Gfree has been around for other devices before the XTC Clip. What is wrong with trying to help a developer who wants to develop a software solution to S-OFF and unlock the phone?

WOW this is great! A working gfree implementation for the Incredible S. I really hope some people can help you out on this. Good luck!

Friend of a friend in dire need!

Let me start by saying that this is totally genuine, and not just some crap that we see floating round a lot of the time. This is a friend of my friend, so I know it's real. She really could do with some help so if anyone is feeling kind after reading the details then any help would be appreciated.
Having lost my Father last year myself, and thankfully spending quite a lot of time with him before he left us, I know how important this is.

A friend of mine is in a really dire situ. Her Dad has been diagnosed with colon cancer and it's stage 4, and it's a 'come NOW' situation. Only she lives in Germany and her dad is in the US, and she is already maxed out on her credit card and very poor (until a job next month), and her Mum/Dad have spent everything on medical treatment. I am running a collection to get my friend home to see her Dad before she can't. I realise this is unusual, but so is the situ. Please help if you can, it would be gratefully received, if we all do a little we can get her there. Please message me if you can help, thank you.... xxx PS we have no time, this is urgent-urgent-urgent....

I understand, and no worries. Like I said at the start, I wasn't sure. I don't know how much help has come from this thread in particular, but we're over 10% of the way to getting her fare, with all the posting that's been done for her, so every bit helps.

This is a forum that's supposed to help not browbeat and insult posters. If you don't have something useful to post then DON'T POST! This is the q/a section, questions are going to be asked. If you don't like the question, or the way it was asked, ignore it.

Sorry for posting useless posts, I searched well in the rules before asking, and searched a lot in Google and other places...
Note: I bought my HP Touchpad one week ago, and only had time yesterday to crack its software and install CM9 and other stuff like Ubuntu... please be patient on ppl like me, startes...

Thanks for your reply, it was a little hard on him, the man got a point, this is a stupid question, but I really didn't knew that this issue is a huge issue that everybody is working on...

patience is a virtue some people here have yet to receive, cuz they clearly can't figure it out themselves
camera and mic really depend on drivers for the touchpad being released/leaked/found.....and if we know what they are then we can find those drivers.
There is a project regarding this at rootzwiki but its kind of a "stop-start" routine.
Dalingrin, the dev who came up with android on the touchpad pretty much has said that it'll be a very long to impossible time for those two to be working on the touchpad, but hey you never know we might get lucky

Thank you very much for your answer, it helped me a lot, because I got some ppl who work with hardware development and would love to try, but they don't want to start from zero...
I contacted the guy "Faux123", the person who develope a very stronge Android Kernels that last longer and overclock, but he replied me with no time...
I will contact that guy and try to get some info from him.
