Notifications:
Now when you receive a notification for example a whatsapp message you get a large horizontal bar at the top of the screen. These are called interruptions, but I can't find where to turn these off. In other devices there is an option for Interruptions in the Sound & Notifications menu, but on M7 we don't have it. See attachment

I've disabled "Display message on screen" for "Messaging: new MMS" in the Sounds & Notifications control panel.
When I get a new sms, I get the sms icon at the top of me screen which is great.
I'm still getting another icon on the top to indicate a notification, and while in the Today screen, it also changes the left soft key to say "Notification"
I don't want any notification icons, or soft keys that say Notification. The sms icon is sufficient enough. I thought I had it working without any notification at all (except for the sms icon) but now it's not working anymore.
Any ideas?

After upgrading to Lollipop just 2 days ago, my SMS notifications on the pull-down display no longer show the actual text message, but instead show "# unread messages" (# indicates unread count). It was nice having the message preview so I could see if the text was important or not.
I have made Message+ a priority notification app. Not sure what else I can do I didn't find any options in the Message+ settings menu. Anyone have any suggestions or a fix?
HELP
I am having this same issue. I have tried everything.
Settings > Sound & Notification, scroll to Notification > When device is locked, tap and select "Show all notification content".
Hi all.
When i receive a text message and my home screen is locked, it just states i have a new message, it doesn't show who from, or what the text says
My setting within notifications - apps - messages - notifications, is
Display in status bar - On
Banners (display on top of the status bar) - On
Lock screen notifications - Display
However, this only shows 'text massage'.
This is also the case for whatsapp..... i have just come from Iphone and liked their system where you could see the message on the lock home screen, so if the phone was on the desk, you wouldnt need to pick it up.
Regards
It only shows when the phone recognizes your face.
You can disable it under Face Unlock.
The brief notification is where you get a small pop up at the top of your screen. How the hell do you disable this globally? Some apps like WhatsApp you can do from within the actual app's settings. Others you can turn off priority notifications.. But some apps don't have any valid setting. How can I disable this for all apps. Its such a useless feature for me. I just want the regular icon in the status bar and nothing popping up
they used to be called heads up notifications I think and yes I'd welcome a solution for this too.
I currently run my phone in 'do not disturb' mode 24/7 because I despise their intrusions.
When I upgraded from the note 20 ultra, there is one thing I missed and I don't know how I got it in the first place. Being able to turn off specific notification based on their notification.
It was easy, a specific notification would happen, I would go to the notification bar and then tap the app, notification, tap the notification then settings and then it would automatically go to the right notification category and highlight it so I knew which one it was.
Now the phone just stops at notification so now when I manually go to notification category, I don't know which one to choose
