So, I bought a Moto X XT1085 (Chinese Variant) a few days back and immediately rooted the thing off. After all was done, I read somewhere in this forum that a user successfully removed the Moto Voice (Chinese) and replaced the app with Moto Voice English from Play Store. I tried that but it just didn't work.
I went ahead (using Titanium Backup) created a backup of the app and removed Moto (parent v2.2.9). Installed the new one from the market (older version 2.0.20) which didn't work either. Every time I launch Moto Voice, it throws, "Unfortunately, Moto has stopped". The other Moto stuff (glance, actions, etc.) work fine. I cannot restore the backup now because Titanium Backup keeps on saying 'Restoring..' for ages but doesn't do anything.
After doing a few more things, the Moto app from the drawer crashes all the time I launch it. But, the glance, and action stuff still work.
What I am looking for is:
1. Any help on how to fix this. I will keep trying until I break something.
2. Is there a standalone pack (zip) which I can flash through recovery? I have tried looking.
The last option would be to flash a new rom, which I am not interested in. I am on 5.0.2 (Moto X came with it and it seems just fine).
Flash the US cellular version, is on zip ready to flash via TWRP and is 5.0.2 too. You won't lose any data or apps because is just a zip with system and boot images. I was on Chinese version too but was unable to make Google voice work so I flashed that version.
That is my last resort now. I did a few things and ended up breaking Moto Display from working.
Would you be so kind to share the link of that zip or something that you recall which will help me?
I will keep looking in the meantime.
Thank you.

Many thanks for this link.
I did a 'dirty restore' of this thing http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/twrp-backup-lollipop-t2934777 and it works fine: 5.0.0 Lollipop.
Everything (Moto apps) have been working like a charm. I am tempted to go 5.0.2. Let me get started.
Thanks again :highfive:

FAQ
Code:
1. Where are the GAPPS?
- Gapps are already in the factory image, you don't have to worry about that.

- Yes it will! Be careful, if you don't want your stuff to be wiped you can wait for OTA (I'll pull out OTA link and ZIP files when I get it via logcast)
3. Is this official release? -
Yes!
4. Do I need to have unlocked bootloader to install this?
- No you dont have to. Thank you fedevd for correcting me.
5. How do I fix system.img missing error? (If this occurs to you)
- Read this, [URL="http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/11/12/running-into-the-dreaded-missing-system-img-error-flashing-android-5-0-factory-images-heres-how-to-get-around-it/"]http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/11/12/running-into-the-dreaded-missing-system-img-error-flashing-android-5-0-factory-images-heres-how-to-get-around-it/[/URL]
6. Can I root this?
- Yes, read this thread: [url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/root-android-lollipop-t2940547[/url]
7. Can I install this without wiping all my data?
- Yes, but its not recommended, ROM may have bugs and may run slower then intended. Here's how to do it:

@isus<3 no need to unlock the bootloader, it's a official and signed firmwre so can be installed with or without unlocked bootloader.. (Remember that some users can be unexperimented and could try to unlock it and mess it up, who knows)
can we flash custom recovery (f.e. twrp) without any problems?

You will have to do that via your PC since when you flash factory image it puts back stock recovery.
I flashed it! Works flawlessly, I'm trying to find root for it now.
Flashed and booting up as we speak!
Anyone tried CF root yet? (I know it's early days just asking)

Thanks for posting the link.
Once you have the ROM flashed there is 1 free Hidden Space app (Calculator) and 2 paid apps $0.99 each for Web Login and Clock ... these allow you to secretly access the hidden space. But you don't need the apps to create a personal space or a downloaded (Tor space, WeChat , on the website)
Hi
I would like to try this rom, but I would like to know if I can easily step back..
I'm currently using marshmallow, is correct to make a nandroid backup, then flash and test this 5.1.1 rom and, in case, flash my backup to restore MM?
Will this rom work with MM bootloader and radio or will it affect my daily use?

Hi Marcuzio81
Yes the ROM will work with your current radio and bootloader, just back up your current image , flash our ROM , Try it out, and restore to your original image. I also recommend you try a Hidden Space App which you can get from the play store.
Here is the link to the currently free Calculator app.

Can you provide details about the device, I assume its a Google Nexus 5 not the 5X, since the ROM only supports the older model. Can you also provide the version of the bootloader and radio.
Thanks
I confirm it's the fabulous, ever green nexus 5
My bootloader is hhz12k, I'm not able so far to check the radio but I suppose it's the latest one coming with MM AS I've flashed the google factory image...
You could flash back to factory 5.1.1 "hammerhead" and try flashing our ROM from there. I will see if I can reproduce your issue from MM.

If you are on Android 5.0.x, you can use this version by arter97 for any Samsung stock ROM (deodexed or odexed).
So my advice would be to re-flash your stock firmware (make a backup of your system first) and then flash the above linked version of Xposed. Flashing your stock firmware will result in a loss of all your data, so do a backup first.

According to your screenshot, it seems you do not have enough space in your \system partition. Debloat your system by deleting some system apps like Gmail or Hangouts, which can easily being installed as user apps from Play Store. If the issue still persists, ask for help in arter97's Xposed thread.
And, if possible, use TWRP instead of CWM recovery.
i have 6 g in the phone and 4g in the sd card and i change the recover to twrp but is the same result .

The system partition is only a part of your internal storage, so just looking at the total storage won't help you here. Try to uninstall some system apps with Titanium Backup or other software.
Use this app to check the free space in your system partition.

Hi everyone,
i wanted to remove duplicate apps like com.android.google.contacts and com.android.contacts (same for calendar) thanks to EMUI.
I did it with adb following guides from the xda-forum.
Afterwards i realized my telephone-app / dialer was gone and i can't find a working apk of a google dialer.
Can someone provide me the official emui dialer apk or help out on another way?
Thanks guys!
first of all, you can flash stock rom to get everything back.... 2nd why not freezes the apps rather then delete them?
how does freezing the app work? I wanted to get rid of the double icons in my apps-drawer...

Sadly not for me, maybe it's a problem with my european version of the p20 pro
Well titanium backup kan freeze a app when youi have root but you need to do it in ADB if you dont have root.
if you're rooted with magisk, download and install google framework module. It'll allow you to install google phone app directly from playstore.
@aederson, Extract the contents of this zip folder to system/priv-app/Contacts. You will probably need to recreate the Contacts folder. After reboot you should have your dialer back if that is all that was deleted. The dialer is part of the contacts APK so you need it installed to keep the stock dialer. Please hit thanks if this works.
If you are not rooted you may be out of luck aside from performing a system recovery. You can uninstall system apps via adb without root but I haven't found a method of putting them back yet that doesn't require su privilege.
many thanks saskatoon. Same problem here. I think the last option is the factory reset .... or root...

Download that app I linked to and install it.
Then download full zip of the ROMyou need ideally, but you can also try incremental (for example this one - it is A.12 build which is next from what you have: https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/f99da5215db535177dabb71960ec6365a63af389.zip) and save that zip to your root folder. Then open that installed app (called "system update", it is in app drawer normally), top cog, find that ZIP and install it. We will see, if it will do some job.
Next OTA is A.13: https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/7548d30abac02bde85a403bcc3a218df868e1910.zip
And A.14: https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/e443d7662829c933a0da968a62bf080aacab37c9.zip
But first install that A.12 and we will see, after reboot, if it offers you next updates. If not, install one by one those I linked you here, otherwise wait for any full zip for the NE2215 version (I cant find full zip now, but it should be somwhere).
The same for A.12. I bought this mobile with installed global ROM. Maybe there are some settings which block all installation s?

Nothing special, you just need to get full zip of any upcoming build, which has size around 4.3 GBs. Eventually you can download latest full zip via oxygen updater by enabling advanced settings and choosing EU, India or global (in fact it shouldn't matter which you choose, but you will have corresponding stuff in your device then, but nothing that breaks your using), download it, then flash it normally via that app I linked you and you tried to install that incremental.
On the other hand, fastboot enhance could reflash your device from the scratch, but it also will wipe it during that process.
