Hello, i couldn't find any threads about this.
I have a Nexus 6, rooted and on a custom rom. And I can not get the PayPal Here card reader to read any cards i swipe.
-the program works fine
-phone recolonizes the card reader when i plug it in.
- does not read cards.
What i have tried.
Tried it on a Note 4 stock rom not rooted and it worked fine.
Tried restarting phone
Tried with WiFi on and WiFi off
Tried with and without GPS
Any suggestions or is anyone using the Paypal Here app on a non rooted phone and is getting it to work?
Mine works
I just received my card reader today from PayPal. It's working fine. Sent over $1 successfully. I think either your reader or your phone's audio jack are having issues. It may be because I have mine OEM unlocked. I haven't rooted it though. I'd see if you can get a replacement card reader first.
EDIT: I misread your post and didn't realize you're running a rooted and custom ROM. It could be an issue with hardware support in the custom ROM. I'm willing to bet that the ROM is the issue. I'm running stock Android that has been OEM unlocked. See if you can contact your ROM's developer(s) about this. The Nexus 6 audio jack should work with the card reader like it's a microphone.
Mine works too along with my square reader on clean ROM.
I have no experience with any card readers at all but the main difference I noticed in your description of the 2 phones is that the Nexus 6 is rooted and the Note 4 isn't. Maybe try making a backup and flash the Nexus 6 back to stock and try it without the phone being rooted. Or if you can, try installing Xposed and rootcloak.

Hi guys,
i recently bought the nook color with the ebay coupon and i am running the Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 Image for SDcard. With the nookie room, i tried to download apps from market and noticed that the wifi connectivity speed is extremely slow that it was unusable which also applied to web browsing. So i read bunch of thread about the nook color having wifi issue and i thought it was hardware related issue. However, when i tried the nook color stock rom with auto nooter root method, i didn't notice the connectivity issue anymore. I burn to SD card twice with low format but same thing happend. I want to use 2.2 rom but i don't know what to do from this point.
I can confirm the wifi issues noted in post above, I have exact same setup. I was thinking it may have been due to my Kingston 8G/class 4 SD? I could not get signed into gmail due to unreliable connection.
I think I am just going to load Rom manager and flash recovery.

I am using Kingston 16GB Class10.
I guess i will also flash the recovery.....

It would have been nice to run this alternate android version off the SD card and keep the stock rooted version on the Nook for access to Barnes & Noble account functionality but that's like having your cake and eating it too
I was going to load Gingerbread next anyway, and then try a Honeycomb test. So I guess it's not worth it to me to keep struggling with running a ROM off the SD card for now.
It seems like it is extremely easy to revert back to stock firmware, so I don't have an issue with trying different options
Same setup here...same issues. Wifi is really, really slow. There are threads 20 pages deep that document running froyo from the SD card. Yet not many people seem to be having wifi connectivity issues. I exchanged my nook tonight because it had a dead/bright pixel in the middle of the screen. The replacement is having the same wifi issues when running from the SD card. How is this not being talked about more, I wonder?
I have the same problem. It was fixed when I turn wifi off and back on again.
i have a very serious problem

Sounds like something went wrong on your install. If it were me, I would flash factory recovery image, and then flash factory Honeycomb for your Streak 7
i've done this but the problem still exist
i've also tried all versions of honeystreak from r2 to r8, i also installed from CMW and official .pkg package from dell , but i have the problem everytime
I just want to confirm that I am having the same issue with the Streak 7 and stock (I think) Honeycomb 3.2. I never used the sim card slot until a recent trip to Africa. Now that I am back in the US, I cannot connect to WiFi at all. I am glad to know that doing a factory reset will solve the issue, but I don't want to do this every time I use GSM internet!!
My recommendation to the both of you is still the same, something has gone wrong with your install because as far as I know of your two instances are isolated.
Battery life is greatly improved on Honeycomb. Are you sure you flashed the correct versions for your Streaks?
I never had any problems with my T-Mobile Note 4 until I upgraded to Lollipop and GPS stopped working- it never locks position and keeps searching for hours with no result. I tried flashing with Odin and Kies. I tried flashing with Sim and SD cards removed. I tried all the recommended GPS fixes. I tried all the available Lollipop custom ROMs and kernels- all to no avail. Once I flash NK4, I have absolutely no GPS issues, on stock or on custom ROMs. I called T-Mobile and Samsung and was told they never heard of this problem- they recommended sending the phone for service. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you guys have.

Try using other Maps. Even apps that locate GPS satellites...sometimes those apps knock sense into the GPS.
I have noticed something similar. I use a golf GPS rangefinder app and now from time to time the GPS freezes for a couple minutes and doesn't update. Same with Google maps. Then it does. Very annoying. Never happened with stock kk. I'm using Dynamic Pop 6.0. Any suggestions? Totally clean install - I wiped everything several times including internal sdcard.

Same issue here. It's really frustrating when you're driving around a new city and Google Maps is bouncing all over the place or just staying in the same place for several minutes even though you're driving. Would really love a fix.
I'v had 3 note 4's this year. My first one was a N910T but it had problems and needed to be replaced. The replacement was a N910T3 and it came with 3 problems.
1) headphone icon would show up even when the headphones weren't inserted.
2) s-pen would have the same issue, the icon would show up even when you inserted the spen back into the phone.
3) camera would be blurry for about 5 minutes until it focused (couldn't manual focus either and it would work for all camera apps).
So i got another replacement. Another N910T3 but with problem 1 & 2, thankfully the camera works flawlessly. I flashed a rom on the T3 thinking that it was a software issue but the icons are still displaying.
Does anyone else have this problem?
I have been having this issue ever since I got the T3, would I be able to use Odin to get a stock ROM without root without tripping knox? Was thinking of just finding the software online.

I have the same issue as well in my T3 running 5.1.1... Has anyone found a solution to this? With many great minds on XDA someone will sure figure this out..
After flashing Marshmallow factory image, I'm unable to connect to any BLE devices. I have both a Coin and a Stratos card and neither will sync now. The phone just doesn't seem to see them. Since neither one will work, I figured it was bluetooth and not the cards themselves.
Tried rolling back to the 5.1.1 radio, but that didn't help, so I'm guessing it's in the kernel.
Went back to my Nexus 5, which is still on 5.1.1, and both BLE cards synced with no problem.
Was worried it was a hardware problem with my phone, but a friend who also has a Nexus 6 on stock Marshmallow and a Coin card is having the same issue, so I don't think it's anything specific to me.
Has anyone else experienced this? Aware of any fixes/workarounds?
Here's the debug info from my phone. Does this look right?
Thanks
Update
I was able to connect to my Tile, another BLE device, with no problem, so it doesn't seem to be all BLE devices. Might be that one or more specific BLE device types have issues (there are different profiles per the Bluetooth spec). That might help narrow down the problem. Tile works, two different credit card thingies don't.
Hi mlevin,
I'm a Technical Specialist with Tile's Customer Care. Our app is actually having some issues regarding Marshmallow as well and we are looking into why some of our users are able to connect while others cannot.
Do you mind if I could reach out to you over phone or email to inquire further regarding your device/Tile usage?
Please feel free to email me as well at: [email protected]
Thank you!
