Will a z1 magnetic charger be compatible with our tablet? - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Accessories

I'm looking for a magnetic charger and I found one specifically for z3 devices that says it is also compatible with this tablet. But it's not very cheap. So I found another one which says it's for the xperia z1 phone, which is much cheaper, but will it be compatible with the z3 tablet compact?

yep my wife has a z1c and the charger is compatible
---------- Post added at 01:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 AM ----------
ps the one tested is striped out of the official z1compact dock

Are you talking about the cable or the docking station?
The cable might be.
The station is not unless you have an adapter to maintain the Z3 tablet in position. The reason is the z1C is much more thicker.
I ended up buying 2 docks, it's around 10-15€ on amazon and works perfectly.

I want a case that has a stand, wirelessly charges the phone but still leaves the usb port open (or has a secondary), and that all you have to do to put it in your car is snap the case into a holder I know it's a bit much to ask but I can't believe no-one would have thought of it before
price is of no consequence

I'm planning to build pretty much this, if that's any help. I have the Samsung stand, and just plug the cable in at the moment. I'm planning to mod it with the touchstone stuff and install the charger just below the surface that the phone sits on in the dock, and just plug into that instead. I also want to activate car mode, so I'm planning on using NFC for that but I don't know too much about what can be done with it.

Using this dock:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Gal...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1352668918&sr=1-1
Fits the Note 2 perfectly as well
I would be very interested to see your setup. I've been looking for a proper Note II dock that supports aux-out through microUSB but haven't really seen any promising products. So I've got it in my head that I could mod a Samsung Universal mount for wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity. First mod the phone for wireless charging and add an inductive plate on the dock. As far as audio transfer goes I have a Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth Adapter that I was thinking I could use. Last throw on a NFC tag to put the phone in car mode and turn on BT.
Thoughts, ideas?
you know that the note II supports charging/MHL/USB OTG now all at the same time?

You forgot the USB Audio output. Get all that with USB (x3) & Docked profile on this smart dock: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EDD-S20JWEGSTA
If I had this compatibility on a Car Dock with a pivot mount that fits our SGN2, that would be awesome (sans MHL, not needed in a car but maybe the RV?).
I would pay quite a bit for that. :good:
My idea was a no-go. You will not be able to add wireless charging to that dock as it stands. I'm currently looking for a more suitable dock to modify, but I might see if I can modify the Samsung one once my touchstone arrives and I can see what parts I need to include in it. I don't think it's going to happen though - there's just too much mechanics in the way to operate the arms.

Tf701t Mains Adapters

Hi guys,
I had more than one mains charging adapter for my TF700 as it was more convenient to leave one plugged in permanently on my desk and carry another around in my laptop bag for out of house charging.
Had a look around and can't find any charging adapters or usb cables available. Has anyone seen any anywhere?
I sent an email to Asus Shop and had the following response:
"Dear Owen,
Thank you for your interest to our e-shop
Unfortunately we don’t have this product in our shop but that does not mean this product in not available elsewhere. ASUS Shop is an outlet for refurbished ASUS tablets and notebooks – the range of accessories offered in our shop is rather limited.
You should be able to obtain this product from following Asusparts site. Or please contact ASUS Support Team for a list of retailers."
However, they don't list the TF701 yet
Damn Asus for changing the proprietary charger!!!
I remember from when the tf101 released, it took months before there was official acessories available from asus.
I dont expect to get a spare charger for a good couple of months.
I think if you already have a wall plug from your tf700, you could probably get away with just getting another tf701 USB cable and plugging it in to your TF700 wall plug.

Wall plug for the TF700 is identical so you can use it without a problem.
Problem is, there are currently no USB cables for the new, slightly smaller connector that the TF701t uses.
Have been looking for a spare one already, just in case No luck so far.

I looked for a charging cable with TF701 connector on Amazon and Ebay but no luck yet. I bought a while ago one for my TF700 with a lenght of 2 meters that comes handy at airports.

Anyone knows which brand of batterypack offers a 15V out by USB to charge the TF701 (700 also)?

This one even comes with an adaptor for the tf700. I don't own one but it has a lot of favorable reviews. I have owned other batteries by the same company and never had a problem with them. There's also a switchable voltage external battery on amazon that claims its 12V setting works with Asus tablets. Search amazon for 12v external battery. Other sites probably carry them as well but I only buy from amazon because returns are so dang easy.

When the tf101 was my main tablet I bought a cheap in-car charger off ebay. The seller claimed the circuitry inside boosts the voltage to 15V (cars generally run on 12V). Here's what happended: The tablet did actually try to charge, and it indicated it did. But as the adapter was a fake (I teared it down to find a diode inside and 11.2V output voltage), the voltage was way too low. The power supply circuitry inside the tablet converts the 15V down to whatever it uses (the 15V will be chosen because that way the current can be kept low enough for standard usb connectors) but the input was too low, and it whined. What happened is, even while displaying that it's charging, the battery drained. This all makes sense.
So if I can provide some advice here: 12V was too low to charge a tf101. The tf701 can, if switched off, be charged off 5V. I'm pretty sure in the worst case you'll see behavior like on my tf101, but will be able to charge if switched off. This is valid for in-car chargers and backup batteries. I wouldn't go for less than 15V. What I use in my car is a variable voltage multi supply for notebooks and a original asus cable soldered to it.

What charger to buy?

I would like to buy additional charger for my OP3, which one is good? Preferably ebay...
get a dash charger from oneplus as other chargers wont support dash charging. if you're fine living without dash charging go for any branded one like belkin.
If you hava a chinese friend , The oppo VOOC charger also can fast charing, and It will be more cheap:laugh:
Since I do not want to charge always with Dash (I am a little bit afraid about the battery life), I use also this one:
Ansmann USB charger 2.1 Ampere.
Loading fast even without dash.
I do not know if Ansmann chargers (german) are available everywhere.

WTF? Why i can't upload the screenshot???

Let's reverse engineer a POGO charger. (With a used pogo cable I just bought)!

So I just bought a pogo charger from ebay.
With it, I was able to bring back my nexus 10 that I once thought was dead for sure.
I think it's ridiculous that the nexus 10 didn't come with a Pogo charger,
even if the micro usb charger takes 10 years to go from 0 to 10%.
I don't have much knowledge on how to reverse engineer this, but I have tools and access to tools.
So my proposal is, if people can help me, we can create a DIY POGO charger for anyone who is still using this tablet, including myself.
I'll be using this post to post updates on it. Including pictures in the future.
I don't have much knowledge either, but am interested in the outcome. Thanks for posting this!

Seems it's symmetrical (which makes sense given that the charger works in either direction). So at any given point it's drawing voltage from just one of the two 5v pins (I'm not technical so I also have no idea what I'm talking about).

Wireless Charging

Is there any good wireless chargers out there that are compatible with the Xperia 1 II.
I've got this one ready which I'm presuming will work;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07DBXZZN3?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I'm not bothered that this may or may not charge at the fastest wireless capabilit, as it'll be my bedside table nighttime charger
I have just backed to that project
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ohsnapofficial/ohsnap-grip-how-smart-people-use-smartphones
i like the fact that it got a magnet so you won't consume a charge cycle for removing it from the dock for few seconds
I'm assuming my Ioniq Premium EV wireless charger will do the trick. A bit on the expensive side, but it comes with a car.
I just bought this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Ste...arger&qid=1592015010&sprefix=spigen+wi&sr=8-5
I have a Samsung one and it works ok.

It works even with the Spigen case. Though I couldn't say how long it takes as I only use it at nighttime as a stand, plus I have a generic multi-usb plug that it's plugged in to and so it won;t be charging at it's fastest speed anyways.
Sorry not to be of any help there, someone else soon I'm sure will be of more assistance

What do you mean by compatible? Qi is the only wireless charging standard so any wireless charger works

Loads of the wireless charges say Samsung compatible 10watts all other models 5watts
Or Apple compatible etc...
Use the one on the picture. It's old but does the job well. It even works with the official Sony window case.
Do we have an Official Sony OEM Wireless Charger?
I thought my eyes played a trick on me that a few weeks after the Xperia 1 II was announced in February that I saw a new wireless charger accessories in the Sony Mobile UK website. But when I check it again now, it's not there. I wonder if it was never there in the first place and my eyes played a trick on me.
I think the last wireless charger that Sony produced was the WCH20 for the XZ2. But it's said that the product is discontinued, and I find it really difficult to find one. I know I can use any qi-compatible wireless charger (like the Samsung one, which I kind of like), but I don't like having my accessories not part of the Sony ecosystem.
Does anyone know if Sony has an in-production wireless charger or have some plans to reintroduce them as well? I find it odd that they sell a phone with wireless charging capability but not complimented by the accessories needed to fully utilise that feature. Since the product page says that "Wireless charger sold separately". Now, does that mean we have to get it from somewhere else, or that Sony is going to sell their wireless charger separately?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
I bought a Yootech one off Amazon. Works well, puts in just under 3000mah.

Virtually any Qi charger that supports over 11w charging will work fine.
Only thing is, the phone seem to get hot when wireless charging much more than when using a cable.
Tip
I use a QI stand for my XZ2 P and left the phone on there (usually at night and more) and after 18 months the battery had swollen and was pushing the screen off
New battery fitted and programmed timer fitted to the mains outlet, working out my charging patterns I have set timed on off program that limits the charging times, it has a manual override if I need it but generally don't
so it charges for 2 hours from 4am and 5 more cycles during the day of 30mins each - sometimes I turn it off depending on my usage and charge level - so far working very well
The longest period on continuous charge is 2 hours
I highly recommend this to everyone who finds themselves leaving their phone on charge for long periods
