Hi, so, recently, I've been working on this port of CM12, it's still in early alpha, but if you want, feel free to try flashing it and see what you think Any feedback would be appreciated.
*****I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICE BY YOU INSTALLING IT, BY YOU INSTALLING THIS ROM, YOU ARE PUTTING YOURSELF AT BLAME FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED!*****
Any willing testers, use builds from alpha or beta folders, main users, use builds from stable folder, when a stable build is released.
All files can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/626rtg4ldaaeppw/AAD3VdFsmLB8Pw37fj4HXbHBa?dl=0
Note that as my hard drive got corrupted I'm having to re-port it which is why the Dropbox is empty.
Information as to why this port is taking so long, and why the Dropbox is empty is in the Q&A thread for this thread.
Awesome work! So good to see this happening, I checked the dropbox link but nothing is there, no test/alpha builds? Have you taken them down?

I was in the process of uploading them (slow internet connection), but then my hard drive got corrupted, only just reinstalling my OS at the moment, lost all of it
So I have to redo all my work porting it, will pm you when I finish re-porting it.
Also, I have a side rom project for this device which I shall be releasing as and when I have free time, I am in need of a graphics designer for this rom, pm me if interested, I shall be trying to do "nightlies" of the cm12 when I re-port it, but this will all depend on how long it takes me to download the updated source code. Will make a thread for the other rom I'm working on, once I get it finished.

Ah no, that sucks so bad. Really sorry to hear that. Maybe it's worth throwing you work in progress stuff on github to prevent having to redo everything in case of a disaster.
I'm sure the end product will be awesome though, I look forward to testing it.
Unfortunately I'm not a designer but I'm willing to help test and work out bugs where I can

Yeah, I'm going to start uploading it to my github when the source code finishes downloading. And thanks for volunteering to be a tester
Note: I would be hoping to port and maintain roms for the tornado 348, but unfortunately cannot, due to my not having one, if the need is great enough, if people can provide the needed files and voluntary testing, I can make roms for the tornado 348 too.

Hey Dude
So Sorry to hear that too. I would be Happy to test your work too. My Firm gave me a Kazam as a work phone but the system is so bad and the battery, well is there any battery in this phone?
So if you allow me to use a Beta don't hesitate to Pm me.

Hi, sorry I haven't been able to work on this the past week (I was in France ) but if you want to be a tester then when I finish a build, I'll put it in alpha, when my alpha tester(s) think it's somewhat stable it will be moved to beta, and from there to stable, I'm not restricting who can test and who can't, I just highly advise people to use stable builds whenever possible, but again, without voluntary testers, there never will be a stable build. Note: at some point I will stop using dropbox for the stable builds and will instead upload them onto the OP of this thread.
For future reference: as of when I finish re-porting, I will be installing an ota updates app within this port for auto-updating, providing you already have cwm/twrp installed.

Hello
first: I want to release this public, but to start I decided to share it with some known guys
I'm into android for a while right now, and tried many things.
A few examples:
theming
build from kitchen
adb
build from source
To do these things, you need to do some steps. If you don't know what they are, or how you should do 'em, then you're in the right place
I teached myself (and my father teached me) some bash scripting.
ATM, I use it for resizing images.
I'll upload a screen tomorrow, together with more detailed specs.
For now, it's an easter egg for you to find out

Good work!
Il have to try it asap...!
Updated first post, updated app, updated link.
It's now a direct link, just give it a shot!
And from now on, if people are not grateful (but they don't have to thank me) OR do not give comment on how I could improve it, I will keep this private and for my friends only.
Nice tool!
Will take a look at it and if I have some more ideas to include, I will let you know ; )

You might wanna release this in the General Android Development section where more people will be interested, since here there are quite few who are new to developing on android and there are more full-fledged developers who basically dont use such tools... releasing this in the general development section will encourage more newbies who are fairly new to editing apps n stuff or building an environment... this tool is great, but you need to make it public to get the 'actual' response u want...
Anyway, all the best for this tool, sadly now i dont have my pc, jus an old crappy netbook which is jus nuff fo browsing... shall try this in march after my final exams...

Thank you also, and you Arjen also.
I will release it there, and also in Android Chef Central. There will more people be intersted, I know.
But for now, I think you people would be nicer to me iwth suggesting idea's, just becuase some of you may know me
Anyways, after someone made a suggestion and I was able to include it and include cpfr, I will release it there
OK, done. included some more things.
I think I will be trying to PORT APK MULTI-TOOL to Linux
Should not be too hard. I'll include it in my script when it's done and submit it to the DEV to publish it.
But I want you to make a request, just to keep myself busy!
Is there ANYTHING that takes you too long, seems too hard for you, or something you want to automate?
If not, I'll continue with building from source.
Please comment within 3 days

Maybe, automate the setting up of build environment for various versions of android...
So it would be like just start ur tool, go into the menu, select the build environment for the version your gonna build and it all does it by itself...
Downloading/installing packages etc..
I havent tested your tool so dunno if u have already included it in your tool...
Also, you might wanna create a directory of different types of custom roms and their github source codes link... like for example, cyanogenmod, omfgb, omgb, oxygen, aokp, codename android and so on...
So i open your tool, select the source i wanna download and it will do it...
Just my 2 cents...

Wait, this tool isnt just for O1...!
Its should me made for every phone out there... so maybe you should add the official sources and not ported sources... cuz if you start including port sources, it will be too much hassle trying to keep the source links updated, sometimes they change, too many ports for every available android device etc...
Also, u will b flooded with requests to add this source, add that source..
Do it like:
CyanogenMod- full official source from CM, github.com/cyanogenmod
Oxygen- full official source by oxygen team, (i dont remember the links)
AOSP
AOKP
CodeNameAndroid
OMGB
OMFGB
Etc etc
Add the official repo's n not ports...
It will help in keeping the sources more update as the official teams work more on their sources than individual porters do on their own sources...

Mod Edit: Per Kraizk, please carefully read the thread & all posts. Not all links are updated & flashing the incorrect file may cause issues. The items posted in here are generally for advanced users or those knowledgeable enough to contribute to the project. I am in no way dissuading you from trying something new, just asking you to be thorough & certain about what you are downloading. Some links may be outdated, incomplete or outdated builds
This is a new dev chat area for my ICS builds. I finally have power, so am back to work on these builds all day today. I will be uploading each new testing build without updating this thread, so it's imperative you check the upload time on mediafire.
At the end of each build day I will be renaming the most stable/functional build as the beta for the day, or uploading an older build as the Beta for the day.
Some builds may not boot, may not have fully functioning cam, and may not have working cell due to attempting to get fully functional cell, and functioning mobile data. I'm also attempting to revert some very hacky workarounds and still maintain full functionality.
I'm not responsible for failure to read this, broken phones, or user error.
Install instructions:
-Flash ota zip in recovery
-Reboot to Fastboot, and flash boot.img
-YOU NEED THE NEW HBOOT!
If you don't know how to follow the instructions, then these testing builds are definitely not for you, and I would wait for the daily beta.
Download Testing Builds In the Test folders, boot.img will always upload before the ota zip, so please be patient.

Damn, you beat me to the second post! After logcats, or suggestions from dev minded folks really, but currently building test4 due to issues with test3(test3 is the current build up as labeled).
This just seemed like the most efficient way to continue moving forward, and then by the end of my build day there will be a stable/functional beta labeled as such for the less adventurous.
Excellent man!. I was wondering if you'd get this up before I returned from vacation.
Word to the wise, if you don't know what you're doing, stay away from here. This is a DEV AREA!

Yeah! Test3 is quite broken actually, so working on Test4 also without using the prebuilt libril. If needed I'll revert to prebuilt by the time I need to upload a full beta.
Edit: And I need to learn to code more and build less. Was looking through the log, and realized I accidentally copied over something from the shooter that obviously won't work for us.

Once Test4 finishes building (if it boots), let me know! or just shoot me a logcat. I've only been able to test on vivid thus far. "adb logcat > logcattest.txt" is the command to run without the quotes to get a log sent to a text file (won't display anything while it's running), or copy past from adb logcat.
GOO-INSIDE.ME IS TAKING AGES TO UPDATE, SO I'M WORKING ON UPLOADING TO DROPBOX INSTEAD SINCE IT SEEMS TO UPDATE FASTER.

I've had quite a bit of experience with CM and what it's supposed to do. Just not the development side. I've got the Velocity 4G, so as long as I won't end up bricked I'll try anything you like. I'll have to wait until tonight to test though - gotta be careful downloading big files at work. Thanks for your hard work!

Leeching that to take a look.
Since none of us have a 6577 device, someone else will have to do the bringup work, but it would be interesting to see how much commonality there is between 6577 and 6589.
Unfortunately the problem is MTK's sources are a disorganized mess, and in many cases, their HALs are just wrappers around a blob. The source we have for R819 is for 4.2 - while xplodwild got 4.3 partially booting on R819, so far, the display drivers just crash on boot on 4.4.

mtk你还是放弃吧,很多都没有开源的,mtk提供整套方案给生产商,连生产商都没有源代码的。

No complete source, nothing to accomplish.
Hey guys
In memory of a very dear friend who passed away yesterday, I am starting this thread and a new era for our x3.
CM has pushed their CM13 branches yesterday, which means it's time for a new project. This time, though, I will be all by myself.
Please do not expect any miracles soon, as the M sources still need to settle a bit before we can even hope for a halfway working build.
Once again, you have several ways to get in touch with me/us:
You can use this thread (but keep it development related)
We have our own IRC channel on freenode, called #p880-dev
Use our github site
PM (even though the other ways are preferable)
We are of course still open source, and you can find the repos on our github:
Device tree
Kernel
Blobs
Any help is greatly appreciated, be it pre-alpha testing, or helping with actual development and fixing bugs. Feel free to make a pull request on github, which we will most likely merge happily. If you're not that experienced in git, feel free to contact me about it.
If you want to use this sources/ROM as your base, you sure are allowed to, but please let me/us know about it before you release it and give proper credits.
That's all we're asking for.
I know you want to know the actual Status, so I try to always keep it updated in this OP:
Not working:
Most likely everything
Working:
Most likely nothing
Now, the most important part:
If you like our work and all the time we spent in order to get it working, feel free to buy us a coke/beer/whatever by donating a litte bit
Special thanks go to: (names in no particular order)
@Daniel Kng
@fritzcola
@sunsettrack4
@thegrim11
@LGaljo
@alfsamsung
@Adam77Root
kingf1 from IRC
And last but not least, please keep this thread on topic! All OT posts will be deleted without further warnings!

I will stay on it and see what I can do
I will pay you, just please make final ROM for 4X, with everything working as it shoud be! That would be awesome!

@laufersteppenwolf, I was hoping you could give insight regarding this current dilemma seen with CM13. http://pastebin.com/vHMRMS0E
Feel free to PM me or reach out on here. Wanting to know if you were successful getting past the problem and if so what was your solution. Your time and consideration is appreciated.

that's a CM issue and needs their fixing. Hence I did not look into it, because if I go on do my "fix" it will most likely differ from CM's fix and may then cause some later issues.
So I'm currently waiting for CM to fix it
Some days ago is builded a cm13 ZIP, but it doesnt even pass bootloader.
Here are my commits for device tree. I disabled most likely everthong what causes building errors like Audio and CameraWrapper.
Here are my commits https://github.com/lenzwagner/android_device_lge_p880/commits/cm-13.0
@laufersteppenwolf will be on IRC the next evenings. Hope you'll be there too.

I already fixed the device tree quite some time ago without disabling it, will have to look into it another time as I have to fix my mom's lappy first...

@fritzcola, just got home from work, gonna check out those commits now. Thanks for posting them. ffmpeg has been a pain for me this past week trying to compile CM13 :-/. Gotta love a fresh brunch out the kitchen lol.
edit: eh, those commits have already been merged so problem still persists.

Just run "make clean" and "repo sync". Commits are already merged in source apart from one.
@laufersteppenwolf Can you upload the fixes to a " cm-13.0" branch?
And do you already go further than BL?

Yea, just verified I already have them in the source. Stagefright still being an issue. Need to look at gerrit and see if there is a commit on standby that may resolve my problem. codecs_utils.cpp fails to compile over at external/stagefright-plugins/utils/.

I got passed it finally. Seemed it was just a fluke with no explanation. Got to deal with this problem now. Take note of line 232 specifically. Haven't had time to mess with it yet.

No sir I am not. For another device, forgive me if that caused any confusion. My initial post on here was with regards to ffmpeg. A hunt for an unofficial build on xda brought up a few links and so wanted to make contact with the dev(s) to see if they had the same problem and/or fix so I may compare and possibly adapt if applicable my previous outcome. As for my current issue I do not expect any answer or results from here since its completely off topic from this device. I merely shared it in response with no intention or expectations for a solution. . I did take a look at your repo and saw ffmpeg is obsolete so I removed it from my tree as well since it was most definitely causing my builds to break.
Hi, I'll try to keep it short, between yesterday and today, I have been researching CM13, I thought it was a really hard project, but the results look promising so far, I am not ready to release anything at the moment, but I'll let you see some screenshots. This is just a side project, and I'll keep working on AOSP. I'll update this post whenever I feel like the ROM is kind of finished.
PS: This is Android 6.0.1, EMUI is just on 6.0.0 Isn't that exciting?

See you!
PS2: No PMs about this please, you'll have it as soon as it's finished

just wondering something, how much space uses system from CM13 and AOSP? for example, on stock Huawei roms almost always they use 2GB+
EDIT: and anyways im asking because, i use Honor 4X/Gplay, and its the same phone that the P8 lite, except internal storage, so that's why im wondering, anyways i think i used your AOSP, that had some bugs like no signal, no wifi, etc (im not sure if you made it), the thing is that rom worked it in my phone too lol
You're just awesome dude! We are all very excited about this project. This is just awesome!
Finally someone who is making ROMs for this phone (and unlike someone doesn't say he'll delete everything "because of noobs")

Sounds great! If you want someone who can help you testing, i can do that!
Yay, i bought p8lite 2 days ago and i love it!
Great work btw
dude this is awesome !!! so there is no more ril problem this is just great thank you very much !!!!
Hi @XePeleato first of all Good Job and second as i can see into the screenshots the RIL problem is persistent or you didn't insert the SIM . I'm following your work on github if u need someone who test the ROM call me

Hi, The SIM is there, the thing is that I need to patch the framework in order to include the Huawei Java classes that enable the RIL stack. I'll release a testing version soon, since I want to include things to test, it wouldn't make sense to upload a rom with 1 or 2 features working, there would be nothing to test

Wifi worked fine on my 5.1 AOSP version, The system.img weighs roughly 800MB, I don't know exactly how much will it take, since CM13 didn't erase my internal storage.

Well, sokkoban recieved a LOT of input about his roms, there were a lot of questions and stuff, it can get really annoying, these open source projects come "As is, without warranty of any kind" - quoting the GPL so actually, trying to give some decent support on this forums is really kind.

The Snap app is included, however since I haven't included the camera HAL yet, I don't know for sure if it will work.

I'll be off like a week or so, I have compiled my own kernel, with some CPU governors to try, and I have fixed the screen DPI so far, there's still some serious patching needed.
@XePeleato yeah it worked, but if im not mistaken, with static wifi, but interesting, if the system is 800MB i think i will be fine, thanks for all about this
This is just my mind. But i would be more happier if i got fully working cm13 marshmallow than aosp lollipop. If i was you. I would take cm as a primary mission. But do as you want. Aosp is great news too
Keep it up man!

Sure, your opinion matters. Luckily, if I apply a patch to CM, it's also valid on AOSP, the same applies for the kernel.

Hold on I said nothing about the RIL stack, I don't know if it will work or not, but that's the last thing I am going to try to fix since I don't know if I am going to be able to fix it at all.
