Hi! I have the same problem. Because you have root and S-OFF, the OTA update fails it's check for an original bootloader. In the old days you could download a RUU and flash the Stock ROM, but everything is OTA now I think. I don't know what to do either. So I want to follow this thread! Please help

so i am not the only one... my preference is to change to s-on, and update. i tried the guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287111&highlight=s-on+guide
but that didn't work. if i try to boot in recovery now, the phone displays a phone with somekind of error message, so i cant get in recovery. bootloader is fine.
I'm gonna try this guide later this weekend:

Stock ROM through CWM

Hi everyone. I have a LG Optimus Black and I need to take it to service. Because I root-ed and installed custom rom I need to go back to stock version. I have a little problem because my computer doesn't recognize the phone anymore so I can't use smartflash. Does anyone of you know another way to return to stock version? Can I flash stock trough CWM? I need v10b. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice evening and thank you for your answers!
try to change usb port, not usb 3.0 but on usb 2.0 in SW mode for able to use SFT
I already tried that. I even tried a different computer. Does no one have a stock version that I could flash trough CWM? Even if it is ICS ore something like that. Thanks a lot anyway!
with lg Tools maybe, LGMobile Update (B2C), support, recovery phone.

you do realize that flashing even a stock rom through cwm will still not make the phone "stock". you'd still have cwm installed and need to get rid of that. try flashing a kdz instead...

His post stated he has a problem with his USB. Flashing kdz or files in SmartFlash is not an option.
The link posted above is not a regular "stock" ROM. It's a project that contains stock "recovery.img" inside the zip. Like what was discussed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224465
It is the same adding the unlocked bootloader together with the recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160394 on a flashable zip or any .img on a certain partition.
Code:
package_extract_file("x-loader.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p1");
package_extract_file("u-boot.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p2");
package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3");
package_extract_file("recovery.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p4");

1) try to use the LG Software update tool...that is one option
2) if not, try using the AIOT
3) just flash the KDZ file through AIOT
but just a small word of caution, back up personal data using the LG tool...if not, you will lose all your data
hope this helps you

Update it how?
You want it back to Stock ICS? I think you have to use smart flashtool and update using the factory image.
Any other updates/upgrades can be done via CWM/TWRP.
Hmm second thought....

I generally try and steer folks away from anything greater than Gingerbread for the P970. ICS + JB aren't anywhere as stable or reliable. My ROM picks are:
Marvel 9 (with the "There is no delay patch")
Zeus 6.4
I ran an ICS ROM for quite a while and loved it, but I grew tired of the random hiccups, lockups, and freezes. GB is solid on the 970. If you're adventurous, you can try JB or Kitkat. For JB, I'd maybe look at Mackay ROM. For KitKat, Nameless ROM would be my choice. These two ROMs appear to be the only ones that actually have any activity.
Again, for a daily driver, I'd look hard at GB-based ROMs. All of the ROMs should have install instructions on first page of their respective forums.
Try IZSv2

Want to revert from EMUI3.0 to EMUI2.3....

Hi there people, let me first mention I have slow internet, so downloading many 1.2GB update.apps isnt really possible.
I started off when I got this phone with B123 (South African Vodacom custom) and successfully unlocked bootloader and rooted etc etc.
I upgraded via local update to B133 according to this thread with success.
Heres where things went a bit sour...
I upgraded to B609 (update.app) as in thread, but forgot to flash cust (step 2) and as the OP stated, motion control etc problems appeared.
The rom itself works.
I am trying to go back to B133 to upgrade properly but any recovery meant for 2.3 doesn't work, even after wiping /system etc
Now here is main question of this thread:
How do i get old recoveries working again and downgrade?
NOTE: I already have:
twrp for 2.3 (was working before 3.0)
stock 2.3 recovery
stock 3.0 recovery
cwm EMUI 3.0 -specific build
B133 update.app
B609 update.app
B609 cwm flashable zip
As mentioned before, downloading of big files isnt nice for me, I want to try use what I have

You can use B609 cwm flashable zip to downgrade to 2.3. there is also a transition update.app to downgrade. but since you have a cwm flashable rom (correct me if i'm wrong. are you referring to My-Rom 3.0?). if i am correct, after flashing the MY-ROM 3.0 using cwm recovery, run it and flash back the stock recovery 3.0 and put B133 under dload folder in your sdcard root. then do a force update to downgrade your phone to 2.3.
I do not have myrom, no. I was talking about EMUI 3.0
Stock 2.3 recovery

Okey. You can try the My-ROM 3.0 firmware to go directly into 2.3. You can also use the transition pack for b609. just choose which 1 you prefer to use.
