Hi,
I can't update my P7 for a while now.
I have EMUI 2.3 installed at the moment (no root)
I want to update to EMUI 3.0 (latest update), but everytime I get a fail.
I've search on the internet and you need to update to a various different updates, but even after that it still won't work.
Could someone explain and help?

download the stock rom suited for your device model and unzip the update.zip and copy the UPDATE.APP on your dload folder (you can create if you dont have)
and then turn off your device and press all three buttons (power, up and down volume buttons)
and wait for it to finish flashing the rom.
check also if your Bootloader is still unlock or not. :good:
I've tried this but update stuck at 5%.
Bootloader is unlocked maybe it's the cause or because update.app is on local memory not on external card ?
Thanks for your answer.
help me please
Flash any custom rom first
my huawei have currently a custom rom

follow this strictly, done.
Hi,
I'm on C432, unlock bootloader. (It's a debranded phone).
I can't update. to B390.
I did a clean install of B386 using TWRP (flash the 2 zip file, clean cache). B386 works fine.
Update from phone did upload the B390 update, it rebooted into Huawei recovery and it failed at 12%. "Software installed failed".
So I've tried with TWRP (I have downloaded the B390 from Firmware finder) and it fails on update.zip with an error 7.
I've tried various versions of B390 (from Firmware finder) and they all fail when trying to install update.zip from TWRP.
Flashing back B386 with TWRP works (no errors when flashing update.zip).
It seems the update.zip from B390 tries to look for something missing in my phone....
Any ideas ?
Thanks !

Stay on B386 unless you're really keen for the latest security update.
Peace.
I can' t even go back to B182, B383. Only B386 I can install (hopefully). This tells me that something is corrupted in my phone.
I have the following error with TWRP:
assert_failed: block_image_verify("/dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name/system", "package_extract_file("system.transfer.list"), "system.new.dat", "system.patch.dat")
ERROR 7
With other update.zip, I also have
assert(update_huawei_pkg_from_ota_zip("UPDATE.APP"));
What's wrong in my phone ?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/update-method-problems-to-version-t3660717
albelushi7 the problem is that update.zip fails with TWRP because of the assert.
I guess the problem is because my VENDOR, PRODUCT, VERSION are probably corrupted (or may be other partitions).
I can't flash them using fastboot.
I looking for a TWRP backup of these partitions for a L09C432 model. Can someone share a backup of these partitions ?
(Even a full backup with B390 installed for a L09C432 would be great !)
Thanks !
I'm going crazy with this. Tried to rollback to MM everything time I try to flash, it fails.
Either by
- TWRP : Update.zip fails with ERROR 7
- Huawei updater + HiSuite
- 3 Button methold and dload folder.
I can only flash B386. It works fairly OK but with some random crashes.
I don't understand what's wrong with my phone. It was an Orange phone, debranded to C432. I had several updates without any issues and problem came since B383.
Could not update with Phone updater to B386. Did with TWRP. But now, I can't install anything. Only B386 can be installed !!!

same thing happen with my phone. now, i use c185 with b390. you should try the same.
So you flashed the OemCust for C185 and it worked ? Good to know !
You were on C432 before ?
Did you try revert back to your original OemCust ?
Thanks !
Hi! I had the same problem. I solved it in this way:
Backup app+data with titanium
Revert to MM with the official procedure, upgrade via updater to nougat and install, always via updater the updtes until B390. Works everything.
The I reunlocked bootlader via adb, install twrp, rooted and restore apps with titanium.
Long procedure, but it worked

Hello Guys,
It's now possible to downgrade P10 Plus from Oreo to Nougat
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible what happens to your device or if you active some nuclear missiles in the process
Prerequisites:
Oreo Firmware on your P10 Plus
Nougat Firmware for P10 Plus
HWOTA 8 from mankindttw https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-oreo-update-package-t3699522
Rename the files according to this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
Access to fastboot and adb
Downgrade Nougat
A. Put update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip files into HWOTA8 repack directory.
B. Run repack.bat to update zip files.
C. Go through "Flash Update" steps and use repacked zip files.
D. Enter recovery and do factory reset.
Flash Update
A. Use Vol-Dn + USB Cable to boot into fastboot mode.
B. Use Replace_Recovery.bat in HWOTA8 to flash TWRP recovery.
C. Disconnect USB cable, use Vol-Up + Power to boot into TWRP.
D. Create "HWOTA8" directory in MTP sdcard.
E. Put hwota8_update.zip, MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img, and three huawei update package (update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip) files into "HWOTA8" directory.
F. TWRP install sdcard hwota8_update.zip, it will reboot and install update automatically.
Hi!
I got this message when I flash the repacked (L29C432B164) zips with HWOTA8: "Software install failed! - Failed to check the update files. - Please download the package again."
Whats wrong? I've followed these steps, but it failed.
When I put Oreo .311 zips without repacking, but renamed (tutorial) in the HWOTA8 directory on my sdcard and install [hwota8_update.zip] with twrp it installs normal incl. verify BUT there is no change. Everthing is like before.
On my P10 (normal), after a factory reset with .311 it's now on build no. 8.0.0.046(01BN).
I cant downgrade to nougat or update back to .311
What can I do? Any suggestions?
Downgrade work only with rollback firmware like B217
Gesendet von meinem VKY-AL00 mit Tapatalk
Ok, than I have to wait or is there another way to leave the 8.0.0.046(01BN)?
There is a rollback firmware on firmware finder.
Gesendet von meinem VKY-AL00 mit Tapatalk
Do I need to install the rollback with firmware finder, manually flashing the zips with twrp or with HWOTA?
Install the rollback firmware via proxy in FF

Can I only use rollback packages? Because this firmware contains only 2 zip files for L29. You personaly tested this way, I never use hwota hopefuly I dont brick my phone

I have done it only with rollback b217 and I think yes you need rollback packages
if i remove public with notepad, i get an error, if i don't remove it, install fail, any help
Source of firmware
may i ask where you got the firmwares
i get the rollback from FF, there is no other rolllback firmware for vtr-l29c636.

Vtr is not vky therefore it's P10 not P10 Plus
Why I cant repack ?
Downgrade Nougat
A. Put update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip files into HWOTA8 repack directory.
B. Run repack.bat to update zip files.
C. Go through "Flash Update" steps and use repacked zip files.
I run "repack.bat" from Windows 7 it says the 7zip.exe are not compactible, any suggestions ?
How the repacked zip files loock like? I have downloaded the C432 Roolback firmware from Firmware Finder, must I repack them to ?

You didnt answer me on my Question
Becouse a lot of user dont understand and get confused I have made a new tutorial for Rollback from Oreo B321 C636 P10 plus, to Nougat VKY-L29 C432 B181 or other region like C185 or C636
BE CARREFULL AND READ THIS - Do exactly like this description and you will not fail
If you read 2 files , dont aske "can I use 3 files" , becouse there is writen 2 files
Also dont aske can I use "this" or "this" becouse you can only use this what is written and than you have no error.
For Rollback from Oreo B321 C636 P10 plus, to Nougat VKY-L29 C432 B181 or other region
like C185 or C636
What you need:
Access to fastboot and adb or Minimal ADB and Fastboot installed on computer( in root C: )
HWOTA8 from mankindttw https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...ckage-t3699522
Nougat Rollback Firmware for P10 Plus
I used this firmware becouse I have a 432 model:
VKY-L29C432B181 ( its a rollback for C432 on FirmwareFinder ) only 2 zips or
VKY-L29C432B185 ( its a new rollback for C432 on FirmwareFinder will lock bootloader ) only 2 zips
update_full_VKY-L29_hw_eu.zip and update.zip
Extract the downloaded HWOTA8_2017110501.zip to C: on Computer
Now Create "HWOTA8" folder in EXTERNAL sdcard, in this folder put only
from the extracted HWOTA8_2017110501.zip this 1 file:
MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img
also this 2 files from downloaded firmware:
update.zip - dont rename
update_full_VKY-L29_hw_eu.zip - rename to - update_all_hw.zip
for VKY-L09 instead of update_full_VKY-L29_hw_eu.zip you download the update_full_VKY-L09_hw_eu.zip and rename as abow described
and this moded - hwota8_update2.zip ( downloaded here as atached file )
It is moded so you need only 2 firmware files for Rollback and NO need to Run repack.bat to update zip files.
SO LETS GO
ON PHONE Use Vol-Dn + USB Cable to boot into fastboot mode.
flash TWRP8_3.0.3.img > comand: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk TWRP8_3.0.3.img
we use this TWRP becouse it is in HWOTA8 ectracted folder
Boot into TWRP and install from external sdcard hwota8_update2.zip, it will reboot and install update automatically.
After reboot you have Nougat B181 or B185 ( depend what you chose ) on VKY-L29C432
Thats How I did it in 15 minutes
Yes If you have another model not C432 you must download the 2 firmware files for your model region
I'm not responsible for any bricks.
If you fail you didnt follow exatly the tutorial
Reading is the Mother of Knowlege.
Woow Great Thank you

MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img file is fo Mate 9. It is the reason of my hard bricked Mate 9 Pro. It even doesn't support Mate 9 Pro; how can you think that it will fix your case?
Just try rollback otherwise wait for Official release of Oreo.
This worked fine for me,it took just over 10 mins and I'm back on nougat. I'd previously been on stock Oreo (rooted) and treble (I have a p10 plus VKYL29)
Hi all,
I am on a P20 Pro EU Version (CLT-L29 C432) with firmware 106.
What I wanted to do is update from 106 to 107. I have:
- unlocked bootloader
- TWRP installed (tried with official and Pretoriano80 version {https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3779400})
- Huawei Firmware Finder
- Patched bootloader from here as well back when the only possibility to install magisk was via patched bootloader (self-created from 106 boot img)
What happened so far is:
1) got the official update notification -> small OTA install failed -> received full update -> failed
2) tried install via TWRP with downloaded OTA from https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...rmware-release-clt-l29-8-1-0-107c432-t3779167 -> tells me zip is corrupt (=failed)
3) install via twrp and select update.zip in Huawei Firmware Finder folder -> zip corrupt -> failed
4) installed via dload method - tried small and large update file --> "Software install failed"
so yeah. i dont really know where to go from here and the google maps issue is really bugging me, so i def want to update
appreciate any help
OTA fails = you have TWRP installed
TWRP installation fails = TWRP cannot install these OTA files (what I know of)
Install orig recovery and use the FF proxy method.
thanks @fregor - do you by any chance know where I could download it? I could only find firmware files
use the initial method download the ota unzip it put it in folder named dload and proceed to the update by turning on ur phone while pressing both volume keys
just tried with the 500mb ota and get a "software install failed"
will try with the big one if i somehow find the DL location of it
alright man, I have downloaded the full update via FF. when i unzip the "update.zip" i always get a file is corrupted error. happens on mac and on windows :/
AND downloaded it from here http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=CLT-L29C432&firmware_page=0 --> software install failed again
kinda lost now tbh
thank you all for your assistance - what helped in the end was using zxz0o0's tool HuRUpdater. It flashes FULL official firmwares without the online check. Can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
