Add Nexus 6 device ID to Verizon account? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone been able to add their Nexus 6 ICCID to their Verizon account so that it shows up as an officially recognized device (with a picture and stuff) on the account?
I'm trying to add HD Voice to my account and it won't let me add it with the unrecognized device. I've run into this problem before and have had to swap my Sim card back into my MotoX that it is officially registered to, then add/remove account features on my line, and finally swap the Sim card back into my N6.
I thought now that Verizon is selling the N6 it would reconigze my ICCID, but it still said invalid device when I tried to update it myself online.
Thanks

I have not heard of anybody being able to update their phone to make it say it's a Verizon device but many many of us have turned on HD Voice. Your account should show it as compatible.

Hmm, whenever I try and it in on the Add/Remove Features page I get this error "Please ensure all required features are selected for XXX-XXX-XXXX" (with my actual #). There are only two features that look as if they're required and I've selected an option for both.
I wonder if it's because I'm on a business account.

I was at the Verizon store last night and was informed by the rep that within the next few weeks Verizon should be adding devices to their database so that its recognized. They tried to add my IMEI but it still would not allow them to.

Try to change it from the mobile app, I cant change anything online since a rep in the store looked up my account now if I try to change it online it shows that I have to call Verizon to make the change. Something to do with the unrecognized device .

I've been trying for 2 months now. Still no luck. Spoke w/ tier 2 this morning. Paperwork was submitted and I'm supposed to get a phone call back tomorrow to resolve the issue. I'll keep everyone updated. Not very optimistic though. I really could care less if the phone was recognized, but I was getting a $25 loyalty credit that dissapeared 2 months ago. Had to keep calling in to get the credit. At least they were happy to issue the credit every month. Just a pita.

Unbelievable. And its no wonder that the CFO of Vz warned investors last month of an increase of churn for the 1st quarter of 2015. How can you treat customers like this and expext them to be loyal? Makes me look real hard at tmo. Sad.

They submitted a ticket for mine but she wasn't optimistic that it would ever show anything other than unknown.

You are looking at the "Free Products" tab and not the "Premium Products" tab which shows up by default in the "Manage Products & Apps" page?
When I went to select Advanced Calling on the Free tab, there were no other products chosen in either tab except for (Free) Verizon Cloud on my (unrecognized IMEI) Nexus 6 line.

Thanks for the advice man, but as a business customer I don't think I have the "Manage Products & Apps" page. I only have an Add/Remove Features page, I attached a couple related screenshots.

Surprisingly, I didn't have to put the SIM back in my old Moto X (2013) in order to place that order - it worked with my Nexus 6 holding the SIM and showing as an unrecognized IMEI in my family account, for some lucky reason. You can't enable this via the Moto?
Assuming your Nexus 6 is on a 5.1 level of Lollipop (which is required for HD Voice), perhaps you already checked to see if it's available to enable in the phone setting menu.
Hope I'm not confusing things, here.

I might be the one who confused things for you. The picture with Advanced Calling/HD Voice checked was just showing my attempt at enabling it. When I check it and press submit I get the error in the second screen shot. I'm almost positive the problem is that I'm using my N6 on my business account. I actually posted a different question in another thread, where I explained my whole process a little better. This just happened to be the thread brought back to life...
It's long and there's no real reason to bother reading it, but I'll post it here anyway...
EvanVanVan said:
Thanks for your help, the problem isn't the business account, it's that the combination of the business account and the non-vzw device (I think). I can't make any changes to the account while I've got my sim card in my N6, so when I need to, I put it back in my Moto X. But...
When I have the sim card in my N6 and go to my VZW business account page > click on my line > go to Add/Remove Features > I have a check box to enable HD Voice. But when I try to add it I get the following error "Please ensure all required features are selected for 555-555-5555." I think this is due to the non-vzw device status. There are only two required sections on the page, and I've selected an option for both of them.
Yet when I have the sim card in my Moto X, the HD Voice check box is no longer there...So I'm hoping if I can get a hold of [a Verizon compatible HD Voice] devices you listed and pop my sim card in, the check box will reappear and I'll be able to add it for my line.
And since I have a business account I can't use this page (http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/advanced-calling.html) to add it like another user suggested, because that one wants me to login to the regular My Verizon service, not the business one...

I called *611 and actually got a rep that sounded like she wanted to help. I explained that I had heard that people on business plans with nexus 6 phones not purchased through Verizon couldn't activate hdvoice via the website, but it was possible through the automated menu via *611. I told her that I was unsuccessful at doing it that way and she was able to get it done through the automated process on her end. Didn't have to transfer me or escalate the request to another level tech or anything.

Damn, sounds like you got lucky...I've tried and either they really can't help/run into errors like I do, or after hearing your story maybe they're kind of sketched out my device is showing up as unrecognized and are unwilling to help. The one woman did sound like she wanted to help, went through the process of filling out the paperwork to get it authenticated as a Open Development Device certification. But I never heard back from her and reading other peoples posts, it was most likely denied by the higher ups.

Try mentioning activating advanced calling 1.0 via the automated menu. After I mentioned that a few times she gave it a go on her end and I was all set.

Just to update, after a week of the runaround, the rep told me tonight that the only way I can get the loyalty discount is if I bought the phone from Verizon. They will not accept any other phones from other carriers, including directly from Motorola or the Google play store. It must be a Verizon branded phone. I lose my discount, so Verizon is losing my business. I'm switching to T-Mobile.

I put my sim card in my daughter's Droid Maxx to enable HD voice on my line. When I put the sim back in my T-Mobile N6 VoLTE does not work. I have been told by VZW tier 2 support the they tried to get my device added to their database and it was denied because I did not purchase it from VZW and my N6 will never be compatible with their VoLTE.

Atrix HD & Straight Talk

I've had it with Sprint. Slow Internet, incompetent phone staff. I currently have the Motorola Photon on Sprint and am very happy with signal strength, call quality, battery life and reliability, which are the most important to me.
I did some research and and decided to go with an AT&T phone with Straight Talk AT&T Sim card.
I was going to wait for the iPhone 5 announcement, but I already know I won't pay $800+ for it out of contract and I dislike the move away from Google services.
I got my Atrix HD yesterday and my Straight Talk SIM today...(Otterbox Commuter too).
I set it up with all the Straight Talk APN settings and was happy with voice, but data was a bit clunky and the Speed Test & YouTube apps were not working.
I modified the APN settings:
From: PROXY: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
To: PROXY: 66.209.11.33
Result:

Coming from Sprint where I was getting 3-8mbps on "4G" and 200-600kbps on 3G I am EXTREMELY pleased.
It seems the ATRIX HD has a less noise cancelling than my Photon as even moving my hand around on the phone can by heard by the caller.
I tried, really tried to use the stock apps (Homescreen, Dialer, Messaging)...I lasted 2 hours. I went to Nova, Dialer One & Handcent.
I hope activity picks up on the forum and I'm sure I'll be posting regularly...for awhile at least.
Just an update...
I was having trouble sending MMS and I called Straight Talk. They took their time 'checking' my account and had me read through the APN settings. I mis-typed a word and MMS was fixed after correcting it.
After I finished the phone call with Straight Talk, I noticed soon after my data speeds took a DUMP! I can't get the SpeedTest app to work, I cant send pictures in gmail & Facebook barely works. Google Navigation quit on me too!
The apps, like navigation will start loading data, then simply stall.
Web browsing however, works fine while the apps are not, sometimes its really slow.
I called Straight Talk again and asked if they changed anything and they said no. I asked if they block applications and they said no. They did say I was only guaranteed 'web browsing' and suggested the mobile websites instead of the app...it seriously seems as if something is being blocked.
I can't deal with apps not working. I barely 'browse' the web. I use gmail, Facebook, and occasional navigation. These MUST work 100% and they are not.
Unless I get a definitive answer and quick, I'm hopping onto a Share Everything Verizon Plan. It'll be $65 for 4GB...its $20 more, but I'm sure all the apps will work.
Im on straight talk too and no problems. Over at howard forums there is a theory that if your ip address starts 10.1 you are being throttled and if it starts 10.2 you are not, so power down your phone and remove sim for 30 seconds and keep trying until you get a different ip address that isnt throttled. I can confirm that mine currently starts with 10.2 and no throttle, the rest is all speculation.

How did everyone go about unlocking it? I just got my unlock code and tried the various methods on Cellunlocker. The IMEI is correct. Did you guys just put the sim card in? I don't have a different sim card right now so its powered on with no sim card in with wifi and airplane mode off.

I didn't have to unlock the phone at all. They support unlocked A&TT and T-mobile phones. They will send you a sim card that will work in unlocked mode. I just inserted it, adjusted APN settings and everything started working. I even receive a message: "welcome to [email protected]"

as far as the data goes with StraigntTalk, it's unreliable. IMHO any carrier who leases the lines from any major carrier cannot offer "unlimited" data. so obviously you are given leftovers of the bandwidth and throttled heavily.
I am using this service for two weeks and its ok. it works for now. lets see how it works in a month or so.
Ahh ok gotcha. Also I was planning on unlocking this for use on T-Mobile but with an actual T-Mobile micro sim. I forgot that straight talk would automatically work without having to sim unlock.
I need some help here also. I thought it was better to jump on his thread than starting my own. I have net10 with an atrix hd. I have tried every apn setting I can find on the net. I have even tried combinations of settings. Here are my problems.
#1 No mms
#2 I have data issues. My browser, apps, etc. will act like I do not have a data connection. Once I reload it will work. For example, my browser may work fine, or I may have to hit refresh 5 times on every link or site I go to. My speeds are fine once it starts transferring data, and it will continue transferiing once it starts, I just have to keep retrying the app or browser to make it start the transfer.
I have read something about at&t mvno data issues, I assume that is what I am running into. I am using the wap.tracfone apn. The at&t settings will not work at all with or without proxy. My next step is unlocking the phone and jumping over to net10 on the t-mobile side. My other option is to just buy a T-mobile phone and pop the other net10 sim in. Any input on this would be appreciated. I just want this to work, it is much cheaper! What course of action should I take? I want to cancel my sprint phone, I obviously can't until this is resolved.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me. I have been using xda to solve all my problems for years, I have never had to ask a question before. I hope this isn't answered somewhere before that I missed in a search.....

Yes they are. Give it a try it should work.
I tried the other apn settings without any luck. Those entirely stopped data. I did buy sqlite and erased the at&t apn settings. That made mms work. I still had the internet issue. I paid for an unlock, for whatever reason they responded that they couldn't get my unlock code and refunded my money. I bought a galaxy note today, and have the same data issue. It must be something with the towers in my area. I paid a local company for an unlock code ($20) which I will receive tomorrow morning. I will put this phone on T-Mobile towers and be done with it. (I know I have to flash a new radio for 4g). Thanks for the responses guys, I appreciate your time.

I thought I should update. I got my new phone unlocked and switched over to net10 on the T-Mobile side. It works great, data speeds are good and so is the consistency. Mms is working without any of the headache. It appears that my data issues were based on at&t in my area. I assume they aren't giving mvno's priority....

Outside of their LTE network, At&t doesn't prioritize their own customers.
Who knows.... I went from a very "refreshing" experiance on the at&t side at 3mbps download to a perfect experiance at 12mbps download on the T-Mobile side. I would post a link talking about it, but I haven't posted enough on xda to be allowed to publish links.

Seriously? I can run my AT&T Atrix HD on Straight Talk without having to pay for a Subsidy code?
Also I keep seeing people say they have Straight Talk SIMS from different carriers. I though they was only one source? Which one works the best for the Atrix HD and how do I go about getting it? I was planning on buying a SIM this Friday.

[SOLVED] APNs wont save & Straight Talk SIM not recognized

Trying to get my friends phone working on Straight Talk. So far, I found the APN settings but when I choose to add a new APN, enter the settings, and choose save... my APN list is still blank. Even after serveral reboots (I've read that sometimes that will make the new APN appear) it still does not show up.
I'm running CyanogenMod 10.0 with a fresh install after clearing all partitions and doing a factory reset. I've unlocked the phone with the app in the android market called 'Galaxy S Unlock'... I've tried everything I've read on the subject (and even had to re-flash from soft bricks)... What am I missing?
EDIT: I should note... after unlocking, my T-Mobile card worked without even editing APNs.

First off does the phone work for phone calls and text messages on StraightTalk? Secondly when you find APN settings in the phone is there any list at all? Clearly the phone is unlocked since you got it to work on T-Mobile so it's not that.
Also I'm curious where did this StraightTalk sim come from? Did it come out of a StraightTalk phone or was it ordered off their website?
Thanks for the reply... appreciate the help/direction.
Nothing appears in the APN list. It doesn't work for StraightTalk at all... no calls, text or anything. I'm guessing the SIM came with a StraightTalk phone but I'll have to ask my friend to be sure.

There's the problem. A sim out of a straight talk phone will not work. He will have to order one from their website and have it activated.
I'm assuming that is it then. This sort of thing makes me CRAZY! I will buy a SIM from the site (this friend of mine is past the age of online buying)... thank you for your help... I'll post how this goes, for future Android newbs like myself.

Keep in mind that I could be very wrong but I am on StraightTalk myself and have never had any issues with the sim I ordered. And considering that you had no troubles using the phone with your sim then I have to assume that's the case.
If anyone has any input on a SIM card from a phone package not working on a different phone, please let me know. It is about $20 after tax and shipping to get a SIM. We are thinking of just going the prepaid ATT route instead.

Well with StraightTalk they lock the sim card to the phone it comes with. So even if you had two phones from them you wouldn't be able to just trade out the sim card like you can with ATT or T-Mobile. Now if you get one of the sims off their site those will work in any ATT or unlocked phone.

I am also having the exact same problem as the OP, but I did buy a sim card from ST, had it activated, and still no service at all. Any suggestions?

test the sim in another phone.
if good, change to another modem file known to work with ST. see stickies in captivate development forum for modem list and links.

After making sure you have a working modem (ugkg3 works great for me) you'll want to check and make sure you haven't lost your IMEI. It happens sometimes when you flash custom ROMs and that will prevent you from getting any service.

no cell coverage on straight talk with cyanogenmod
I have a galaxy s2 i727 with the cyanogenmod 10.1.2. I am a caveman newby (over 50) and i am not able to get more then 1 bar on the cell coverage and not able to make calls. Does the cyanogenmod effect cell coverage? should i use different apn settings? the wifi works perfectly well and i have received some texts. I live in nor. Cal and i believe straight talk is using att lines.
any help would be awesome!

I'm using straight talk on att as well. They are moving to a new APN but some areas still use the old one. This is the new one.....

The old one is the att.mvno APN but I deleted it so if u need that one you will have to search....
I would also search/ read about modems and what one may work good for your area. There are numerous threads (some stickied here) about modems. Try the APN first though to rule it out. After you make the new APN save it, select it, and reboot.....
Edit: I see you also have an s2 not a captivate so don't flash anything from here....

Also the APN will not prevent you from getting signal and receiving phone calls. So if you can't even receive or male calls you need to look into modems for your s2.
And a little more specifically in regards to the last post the two different apns depend on when you purchased a sim card from them. If you got one in the last year or so it will likely be the tfdata. If older it'll be att.mvno

What wasn't fair was when I lost my data and no one at ST could tell me why!! I had to read way more than I wanted to...From other posts around the web on the subject led me to believe the change was more to do with the 4g/lte towers. Seemed like at some point some users were forced to change to the new apn because they lost even 3g data using the old one.
Some have also posted about when traveling through certain areas, they had to change just the MMSC/MMS proxy back and forth between old and new to keep receiving mms.:silly:

Official Stupid Questions Thread - No Question too Stupid

Here you can post any questions you think you will get yelled at or criticized for because you don't know the answer or you didn't search hard enough. xBeerdroiDx had a great idea when he posted this over in the S4 forums.
Ask any question you wish, the only stupid question is the one that's been answered 150,000 times. Just kidding, ask whatever you want as long as it's Note 3 or AT&T related. I'll even go with Samsung related.

Coming from a Note 2, and I rely a lot on Google Now (aka Voice Search).
I was able to set up my Note 2 to launch Google Now by long pressing the menu key.
If there's a way to do this on the Note 3, I haven't found it yet. Anyone know a way? (For now, my workaround is to long press the home key to bring up task switcher and press the globe icon to launch Google Now.)
Question 2:
I used Internet Browser (had manually installed flash) on my Note 2. The version on my Note 2 had a "Labs" menu where you could turn on a circular floating menu feature to operate most browser functions by just sliding your thumb in from a screen edge. I got really fast with that and feel very inefficient in the browser without it.
My Note 3's Internet Browser app doesn't appear to have a "Labs" menu at all. Any secret way anyone knows to get that menu (or the floating circular thumb menu feature) back on this apparently newer version of the app? I know loading an older version of the app is probably out of the question without root.
Thanks for reading my stupid questions.
Despite these minor quibbles, I'm really loving this faster, brighter phone and its (in my opinion) vastly better camera.

I'm relatively new to Android. I had a few Kindle Fires and an S2 Skyrocket but didn't do anything much with either. After having an iPhone 5s and being underwhelmed, I switched to the Note 3 and love it. My problem is my battery life has been poor. The battery life was supposed to be awesome and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
Here's what I do now.
-Keep screen as dim as it will go
-Have Juice Defender that switches WiFi and data off/on depending on what's being used
-Bluetooth & GPS off unless I need them
-Auto-Sync is off and I have data restriction on
-I periodically go into the running apps and stop what's useless to me (Games, Samsung Apps etc.)
I may be overreacting, but I heard this battery is great and it's going down fast by just web browsing. Is there anything I'm missing being new to Android and all? Thanks.
Have the pen button gestures from the note 2 been removed from the note 3? I miss the one for going home.

On Q3. Google updated maps and removed labs. Really pissed me off becuase I used the labs stuff. I actually think the newest version is worse than the desert version. Does that seem to be a way to add it back.

I'm currently with Sprint and thinking of switching over to AT&T (Sprint 4G/LTE signal sucks at my work location) and get a Note 3 (or MotoX, but most likely Note 3). I'm new to the whole GSM smartphone in US so I'm unclear on a few things, especially regarding Sim Lock and Bootloader lock on AT&T
Here's my questions:
Why bother locking Bootloader? The official words seem to be that the Carriers are worried about untested software running on their networks and could cause problems. However, people are mentioning that they can pay full retail price for a T-Mobile phone which is not bootloader locked and sim unlock it and use it on AT&T. If anyone can do that (if they want to pay for the phone in full) there WILL be untested software running on their network anyways.
Why bother locking the sim card? It's not like I can unlock my phone and cancel my contract and move to T-Mobile, I'll still get slap by a Early Termination Fee to pay off the subsidized portion of the phone and then some.
If I want to use my phone elsewhere in the world, I heard that the phone is Region Locked as well, and if I don't unlock the sim or use the region unlock apk, I can't use it outside of US. Are there any issue if I pay to remove the sim lock? e.g. will AT&T fine me or something if they finds out? (I currently don't have to deal w/ this problem because no one else in the world use CDMA, and I just get a cheapo dumb phone when I travel).
thanks

AT&T won't fine you if you unlock your device.. I'm pretty sure they would do it for you for a fee.
Ok, under s pen option. It says turning off pen detection when the pen is attached can save battery. What does that mean? What are they calling pen detection?
Also, I can not get burst mode to work while taking pictures. I assume it is press and hold like any other phone right?

To answer your first question your phone is always making sure (yes here come the jokes) you got the pen in it. But turning that off will save battery life. It will still detect when you take it out.
I can't answer your second question

What kind of system language is available on this device? As in, menus, apps, etc. (not keyboard since keyboard can be downloaded through play store, etc.), all in a certain language. From my past experience with AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3 phone, there is no Chinese as a system language if I remember correctly and wondering if this still the same.

Where's the 5.1.1 update on my off-contract N6?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but this if my first unlocked/non-carrier phone. I've always been with Verizon and have grown accustomed to waiting 1+ years to get updates.
I just got my N6 on Friday and the latest OS version available is 5.0.1. I'm seeing news articles all over the place going back as far as early March saying that AT&T/Tmobile customers are getting 5.1.1 OTA updates. I was under the impression when I bought my N6, that because I'm buying a non-carrier/vanilla Google variant of the phone, I'd be one of the first to receive new Android updates, and that carriers would be the ones lagging behind. Yet it seems the exact opposite.
I'm currently running build LRX22C 5.0.1 on Cricket Wireless. Should I be expecting a new update any time soon, or are we required to manually flash it or something?

I received mine from Moto on Thursday of last week. Before putting in my VZW SIM, I connected to wifi and it updated me all the way to 5.1.1(in increments of course). I think in your case, your SIM(carrier) is what's limiting you from updating. Try pulling your SIM rebooting and check for updates. If that doesnt work, you can do a factory reset and leave your SIM out, connect to wifi then see if you get the updates. Since its a Nexus, you can always manually flash the latest.:good:

Thank you. I just shut down, pulled sim, turned back on and checked for updates. Not available unfortunately, still showing 5.0.1 to be the latest.
You mentioned you just got yours on Thursday - is Motorola just now starting to roll this update out or did you just happen to get yours Thursday for whatever reason?

I ordered the phone Sat night from Moto and received it last Thurs. I had been reading through the forums here and saw several mention about how to get the phone to update to the latest version so and soon as I opened the box, I turned the hotspot on from my other phone, connected the Nexus 6 to it via wifi and all the updates started downloading(5.01, 5.1, 5.1.1). I think the updates are controlled by Google then the carriers not Moto. Try suggestion #2 if you dont mind starting from scratch
all the updates get controlled by google, after carrier approval. but, google does not promise updates asap. they promise updates within 3 weeks. being a google play device, you'd get the no carrier update only on WiFi. and with it having the Verizon sim in it, it'll get an update after Verizon approves the update.

I just went up to Best Buy and bought an unlocked N6 without service. Comes without a SIM by default. I ran straight up to a Game Stop and bought service through Cricket Wireless and got a SIM from them.
For the record, I'm not a fan of Best Buy but all online retailers I could buy it from had tax in my state, so I figured I might as well skip waiting on shipping and just buy locally.

No, I meant what "build number" do you have on 5.1.1 upgrading using no sim. Look under settings/about phone.

Visual Voice mailbox

On android 10 Visual Voicemail doesn't work for the gsm networks but works CDMA networks only. When I switch to Pixel 3XL runs android 9 it works on that version So it's clear that it is the issue of the coding of 10 but google support says it is the issue of the carrier and contact them. They can't understand what I am really trying to say. if it is the issue of the carrier then how it will work on android 9 ? even my one plus runs on a custom ROM can work this feature. A flagship phone like google doesn't work this thing ?
Anyway Guys please do report this issue and give a feedback about this issue. I have attached a working picture pixel 3Xl runs on android 9 [Build - PQ2A.190205.001 ]

Put this in Questions and Answers. You will get more attention there for this. (Also in curious too)
Phone app - settings - voicemail - visual voicemail.
I think it should appear as a tab at the bottom of the UI automatically, if your carrier/phone plan has it.

I contacted the carrier, it is pre-activated on every sim. Also they said they do support for phone that brought it from their inventory. But when I put the sim back to my old phone oneplus 6 running on custom rom Derpfest to check it is working or not and it is still working. when I turned on my phone the visual voicemail option came right away but its not working on pixel phones. So I think they have to do some coding to get this stuff on pixel phones. I have attached some screenshots of my previous phone running a custom rom. Please check it out. On a custom rom can work this feature it supposed to be working on pixel phones too right?

So I think they have to do some coding to get this stuff on pixel phones. I have attached some screenshots of it. Please check it out and let me know

Looks like it is working. It would not show anything in voicemail tab of the phone app if it wasn't working. Like you would have to call your voicemail number and enter your pin to get your messages.

Here are some screenshots of phone settings menu.
If you are using a custom rom, talk to the developer.

I am on stock rom. I reported to the pixel team. Waiting for the response. Which rom are you using. Can you show the picture of dailer app
Are you on simple mobile? I have the same problem. It worked initially with my pixel 3 XL but then randomly stopped and I haven't got it back since. Upgrading the the 4XL I have the same issue. They even sent me a new SIM card but no luck. I can get it to work using a 3rd party app but it's not integrated into the diaper. For now I've resorted to using Google voice for my VM.

Two things.
First being that I use att and also do not have it integrated into the dialer. I have to use their app to get visual voicemail.
Second being that you put "integrated into the diaper" which is clearly a typo but made me laugh more than it should have.

Haha. God damn autocorrect. Yes I use diaper more than dialer these days thanks to my 1 year old twins. Even as I typed this it tried to correct it.
Regarding the visual voicemail - I'm thinking it's something Google has to change on their end since it was working before and works on the OnePlus as the OP posted.

When did you lose that feature after updating to Android Q?

I don't remember exactly but it was before the Q update. It randomly stopped working on my pixel 3 XL. I briefly got it back after clearing app data on the phone app back then but it went away again. Makes me think it's an app or server side issue.

App issue, if i switch back to my previous phone running custom rom its works. But t in pixel rom so its app issue. Please send a report to devs of the pixel
I have an AT&T Pixel 4 XL and I still can't get this damn feature to show up. I'm not rooted (can't because it's locked until it's paid off). Anyone know a way I can enable it without root?

There is no relation with root and visual voice mail. They have to do some coding to get it work. I already reported the issue. They said send the feedback. Do the same. That's the only to workout also contact pixel support regarding this. As far as i know it works only sprint and verizon only.

Brought a p3 xl running on Android 9 and on that phone visual voicemail is working. So the issue is with Os of 10. I contacted support and they couldn't understand what am saying. They blaims its the issue of carrier service. Please contact the support let them know you facing the issue
@smartymcfly @rickysidhu_ @wgrant @bigdave79 @KillerBytes
Anyway Guys please do report this issue and give a feedback about this issue. I have attached a working picture pixel 3Xl runs on android 9 [Build - PQ2A.190205.001 ]
