DIY watch faces - LG G Watch R

I've found this post which provides custom watch faces for the lg g3 smart cover. If you unzip the files you can use all the components in an app like watchmaker to create your own custom watch faces.

How does it work? For an example - how can I have the Casio G-Shock?

Display Video misleading

Have you seen the Galaxy Gear Displays at local phone stores?
Every one I walked by showed the screens of the Galaxy Gear in full colour, the screen looked great on the video loop they play on the display watch.
But ... you buy one the screen white on and black background.
This is very misleading.
The good news is the Galaxy Gear is being sold at many places if Samsung just dropped the price I am sure they sell them very well.
Seen no Pebbles, or Sony Smart Watch 2.
Qualcom Toq is not sold in Canada or much in the US

The screen is capable of full color, just take some pictures and browse the gallery. The default watch faces are configured for just black and white, but you can customize background colors and the color of the time. I very much prefer the orange time for appearance sake - that needs to be changed in the Gear Manager (not the settings app on the watch for some reason).
Still misleading.
You can not change the colour of a default clocks background.
At least for the clock I use the news clock.
I don't have the news clock, but you can change the background in the default clock (the weather clock) and all of the other standard digital clocks in the settings to 7 different colors. The standard analog clocks seem to ignore the setting.
What clock and color are they showing in the teaser videos?

Go to 'settings -> display -> home bg color' and you can change the background of the default clocks.
It defaults to black, but it is a setting you can change. What's misleading about it?
Maybe your gear has different options though. My default clocks don't include a news clock. Closest thing I have is an events clock, which shows daily calendar events.

The screen is actually amazing in color. I have great pictures, videos, and I have sideloaded movies and podcasts onto it, and they look great. I was just watching the original Grinch that Stole Christmas yesterday. Watch Styler gives you options to make your own custom watches up. Mine has a pic of Dad on Christmas from about 23 years ago, with Red and Green hands and dial, for the Holidays. You also get pictures of those calling you in full color, if you have them setup on phone with a picture. Not sure what is misleading.
I said the clock face on the display has white text on a blue background and this you can not do at least as far as I know.
I used the Weather Watch face the background is black "IT CAN NOT BE CHANGED !!!"
Oh you can pick Orange for the Text but that is all.
Right now I use the "News" watch face I love it if I can make the background on the News watch face blue but you can not. I do know that a colour background would effect battery life but so what watch lasts at least two days.
The watch customization program will let me have a watch blue black ground or a picture for that matter but "News Content" is not available.
I have have the Galaxy Gear since the early days yes "I own the watch", I do know that it will do full colour .
The Samsung Watch faces do not allow a blue black ground on their watch face so the display loop is a lie.
You do realize that there are more options for customization on the actual gear right??
In gear manager, if you choose the weather clock face, yes, all you can do is change the text color to either white or orange. However, if you go to the settings option on the gear itself, you can change the background color as well.
Have you tried that?

I also downloaded the 'news' clock face from the gears app store, and background color changes work just fine for my watch. So unless your not checking all the settings ON the watch (and not in the gear manager), then I'm stumped as to what is going on with your device.

Astro quit crying about not being able to afford one yet bash on once who have it. Guess what. It's sick yea the watch faces aren't customizable yet I managed to not care because it's a watch. I'll do my customization on my phone, not my watch. App watchstyler is great if you want to make your very own watch but don't say it's misleading. Nothing about it is. Own one and you will see. May not have as many apps as sonys smartwatch or look as butt-ugly as the pebble(horrible looking watch now THAT is ugly) maybe big but I'm a big fella w big hands so really looks good on me. Galaxy gear is the shhhhht

That's funny, I guess my Gear was never told it couldn't change, because I'm staring at my Weather Watch face with a blue background right now...

Funny must have different weather clock face.
Mine has exactly two settings can change the Text to Amber, and change the refresh interval.

As has been mentioned a couple of times in this thread:
On the Gear itself (not Gear Manager on the phone), go to SETTINGS, DISPLAY, HOME BG COLOR, then swipe left or right to change color.

Anything similar to Weather Watch Face?

I was wondering if there's a skin/theme/app that looks similar to Weather Watch Face?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pizzaentertainment.weatherwatchface&hl=en
I really love the way it looks, pity it's only for Android Wear.
Hère for gear not wear

Facer?

Hi all
Getting a lg g r watch for Xmas and keep hearing alot about facer app etc.... How does this work?
Sorry for such a novice question but any help be appreciated
Thanks and merry Christmas all
Chris
Facer is an app that allows you to change the watch face to literally hundreds or perhaps thousands of different watch faces. Many of those watch faces are viewable and downloadable from Facerepo.com . There's another similar app named Watchmaker, that has watch faces there too.
Moto 360 watch faces work just fine, but some might have a small cut at the bottom.
Another very good watch face is is Android Wear Watch Faces
I'd recommend you try all of those, before any other watch faces. Because with those, you probably won't have need for any others.

Thanks for the reply mate
the basic idea of Facer and WatchMaker (the one I'm using and would recommend) is simple but ingenious: you don't have to code to create a watchface, you just have to take a background picture and pictures for the single hands to create a watchface.
as Darnell_Chat_TN pointed out, there is a huge community sharing the watchfaces they created, so you don't even have to do that anymore.
PS: the apps are much more powerful and allow for the creation of highly complex watchfaces, I would definitely recommend to get one
thank u for information :good:
Just a heads up, Watchmaker Pro is on sale for just $0.99 for the moment.
