Hello there!
Is there any multidpi dialers out the for the z3c?? There is something like that for the Z2 and would love to use a low dpi since i dont like all thos big buttons but having more information onscreen!
thanks!
So something else that cuaght my eye is that the quicksettings are not centered on the default dpi. It is 320 or? Maybe someone can tell me the right number or help me figuring this out, because theyre padding abouts when you change the dpi. didnt recall the Z2 doing that!!

Has anyone had success with the LDC Density app? My friend used it on his galaxy s it was pretty cool
I tried it and my phone just froze. Had to do a battery pull to fix it.
Yes, im rooted.
this has been answered multiple times in a few thread.
maybe if you tried searching you'd have an answer.
Froze on my rooted TB with Adrynalyne's Rom. Curious to see if anyone has this working.
Didn't work for me either. Just manually edited /system/build.prop to change it around. Messes with the look of the Sense Clock Widget, and certain skins for the SenseUI.

where in the build.prop do you edit the file?
nm found the line. it was obvious enough
FWIW 190 has been a good number for me. I was at 200 for awhile, set it at 190 today and it runs pretty well.
So I take it you aren't running Sense then? Because anything lower than 240 messed up the flip clock and some of the themes bar at the bottom.
I am sure I am not alone when I say this but does anybody know why the fonts on the screen are so massive? Was this phone originally intended for people with failing vision?
Why, with such a lot of real estate, doesn't htc squeeze in more info into the screen so that we lessen scrolling? Beats the hell out of me.... Its irritating to say the least. The net effect is that I have a bigger phone than the inc but I have exactly the same amount of info on the screen. I really do not see the point...
Rant over - now how do we lower font size and line spacing without messing everything up. Any easy fixes? In the uber z rom for the inc, gmichaelow made a zip that changed font sizes and line spacing to much lower levels without messing anything up. So its possible. LCD density is definitely not the answer.

I thought the exact same thing, my Droid has a higher resolution than the Thunderbolt (480x854 for OG Droid vs. 480x800 for Thunderbolt). Everything was blown up like crazy. I don't understand why they wouldn't have gone higher for a crisper look to rival the sleek look of the iPhone. There should be font packs out there, but I'm not sure where yet. Lowering my density to 190 definitely looks a lot better for everything but the notification bar icons. I'm going to look into smaller fonts as well, but for now, I'm happy with the lowered density, as it also makes things on screen look more crisp.
I've heard people talk about this in the past, but never fully understood what it did? Any explanation of what this actually does is appreciated. Thanks in advance
Just look at my picture compared to the stock setup. Mine is much crisper and smaller. It's like upping the resolution basically.

Does anyone have themes out for specific lowered densities? I have found that when I lower the density, the bottom dock (Where the phone, app tray and personalize button are) looks disconnected and not very nice. Only thing holding me back.
Is there a way to keep with the stock launcher and theme it so it fits or would I be forced to switch to another launcher to alleviate that problem?
going to give this a try and see how it goees
i tried 225, 220, 210 and would rather just leave it at stock 240 than have blurry status bar icons...that drives me nuts and makes the phone look like ****..the rest of the screen looked perfect at 225 for me tho..
I run at 190. I used to run at 140 on my dinc. I hate big resolutions. I don't use the sense launcher so I don't have aproblem with it getting messed up

Even manually editing the build prop (CHMOD 777) I'm unable to get the changes to take effect. Any advice?

Use root explorer, find build.prop, open it in a text editor, change the line that says LCD density. Save and exit, reboot. Done.

Yeah thats what I meant by manually changing the build prop.
Is it possible to get a tablet style navbar on the xperia z?
i know there is a rom on android development that can do that, but it only works in landscape.
any idea if it is possible?
The PAC rom includes the paranoid which allows you to use tablet UI everywhere have it and it's fantastic

i wanted the same thing too so i tried installing Xposed framework + TabletUI module
i soft rebooted the phone and i can see that TabletUI is applied, just that everything is oversized (till this stage, all is fine)
but when i tried to change the dpi using Density changer available on play store to 240dpi and reboot, i had bootloops....
so tablet ui actually works on stock rom...but somebody has to figure out a way to change dpi without causing bootloop
i had to restore my phone after applying 240 dpi...so DON'T CHANGE dpi!!!!!
Dude, tons of us have changed DPI... I myself have it at 320. 240 sounds incredibly low, though.
just wanna clarify, i dont wanna do this through DPI changing lol, i wanna keep everything in the same size/proportion, just a different layout, if you know what i mean....
Can I change the screen resolution of my s3 mini in any way? i changed them with app settings (xposed) in facebook and facebook messenger (but i guess it's kind of the dpi then?? or maybe not??) anyway, in those apps the icon's are most the same size just the images are more sharp etc. pretty cool!! um... maybe i could change the jellybean main app to a higher resoltion by app settings?
i tried custom dpi already, it seems like the screen doesn't really get sharper other than on the resoltion change in facebook!
thanks guy!
jellybean (surface) didn't make any changes excerpt a crooked lockscreen so far so i'm now at "touchwiz-start" which crashed 2times checking if i find a higher resolution though.. this is definitely one of the apps i need to change...:good:
did some more changes now i need to restore nandroid.. not going to continue trieng until somebody can give me an answer if it's possible.. lol thanks
This is a pixel styled theme I made for the Xperia Z5. Hope you like it. Cheers.
edit:
new version v. 1.0.1
changelog:
added new Pixel navbar

interesting
You should add more screenshots...
I attached some screenshots. Tested with Xperia Z2 on stock 6.0.1. If it works on the Z2, it will work on the Z5 I think.
I like how this looks, especially the Nav bar, but The theme is almost unusable. The background is just way too dark, it appears no change was made to enhance text legibility whatsoever. Maybe keep it completely white like the other "Stock Android" themes, or maybe black it out completely and put white text. Which is a shame. But it's good mind you.
More Power.
awesom
Hey folks, I will try to change the text color. But I don't see an option to do this in Theme Creator. Can someone give me an advice? Thanks in advance.
It would be cool if you black it out completely and put in white text
Hello,
It looks like Sony quietly removed the themes feature from Xperia home in XZ3/android Pie.
Does that mean that the feature will also be removed from the other xperia devices when they get their taste of android Pie?
They killed the small apps feature in Nougat even though some apps were paid apps and now it looks like they will do the same for themes.
For the sake of all the themes I have bought since the feature appeared on the Xperia Z familly, I hope this is just a temporary absence.
By the way they should also stop to waste time on things like dynamic vibration or side sense both are more annoying than useful.
If some one knows how to reactivate the themes on XZ3, her or his help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
Probably because the current themes available control the status bar and nav bar along with nav icon buttons.
If the theme manager app controls them, then maybe the pixel shifting effect to counter burn in will stop too.
Interestingly, downloading themes still works and the wallpapers attached to the theme become available in wallpaper selector. Meaning its definitely something to do with the bars that Sony wants their own software to control.

Samsung S8/9 and note 8/9 have a similar theme app allowing to change the nav bar appearance. That makes me think preventing oled screen burns is a less likely reason than the new navigation mode in Android Pie which is absent on XZ3 anyway.
I have also noticed that the time is now displayed on the left side of the status bar (ripple effect of the notch ???) and it is no longer possible to activate System UI Tuner as in previous Android versions.
I guess we will know when Android Pie roll on previous XZ phones.

This sucks to be honest. I can't even download themes. Hopefully this gets rectified. Sony did have a few decent themes.
...and Xperia Actions has been dumped which is annoying for me as I used it quite a bit.
I've never had a desire for themes because with LCD there's no difference between a light and dark interface, and literally the moment Sony gives us an OLED phone there's no dark theme available.
Thank god themes are still available in xz2 Pie update.

Only about the themes ? Lol siriously
Buy xz2
Already bought one, despite the ugly design and the removal of the jack. I also have the xz2 premium.
Now there is nothing left that made xperia phone special for. I will go back to xz premium that is more complete and compelling than any of the 2018 line up.
