is this possible in stock rom?
I'm tired of missing the space on keyboard because the phone thinks that I want to swipe up, I tried apps that disable the default action but this LG modified version show 2 icons and I can only disable search.
I don't want it to show up at all.
Google now is disabled btw
I have the 405N model (if this helps)
Thanks

can any1 tell me how I can remove the google search bar? I try to kill the process but i cant use the space (like by my Nexus)
I hope somebody can help me
An alternative Launcher removes the bar
thats the only way i know so far...
removing is possible (dunno find the video on the tube now), but it is already possible.
the problem is that the free space is left unused/unusable....
Launcher is not a option cuz I will use the new Optimus UI with all features.
This is the Video space79 is talking about (start at 3:30)

Just stop & deactivate the Google Search process in Settings >> Application (App Manager)
I don't remember seeing the animation/graphic when starting Google Now before the upgrade to Kitkat yesterday (AT&T), but now there is a graphic. Is there any way to add additional options to this gesture? I.e., can I use the same gesture and have a "Chrome" or "Hangouts" bubble in addition to the "Google" bubble available?
The other question I have is if it is possible to turn off the lock screen when security hasn't kicked in yet?
As a follow-up, the closest I could find is the "Google Now Swipe Disabler" app where you can either disable or hijack the gesture to run something else. Unfortunately, I use GN, so I don't want to replace it but add to it.
is there a way of keeping stock rom and stock UI
i love watchstyler and lifting to see watch
i want to be able to press power button and the the clock come on
and press again to turn off the screen
i want internet browser, sms message, and other apps working with a keyboard
i dont need root so much or dont want to be able to ruin my watch
will null do this and be safe for someone else that is using my watch, i dont want them to press a button and things go wrong
eg cpu explodes or the sun collides to the earth
Null will allow this. You can set Touchwiz as the default launcher instead of nova and have the functionality of all the apps installed. If you do choose Null, go into settings/apps/ and clear default for nova launcher. Reboot and it will ask you which default you want. Set Touchwiz and you will be fine. No kittens in the vicinity will be harmed and while a small risk remains, your car should not spontaneously combust. The picture is of the app menu in Touchwiz with all Apps selectable.
hey thanks pal,ill give it a go
Hello. I am using Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, N7000ZSLR1, Android 4.1.2 Hong Kong version. There are something I am not quite satisfied with the ROM, I have rooted my device with Chinese one key root app so I wonder if there are some ways to customize the ROM.
1. The first thing is Notification screen. In this Android 4.1.2, when you pull it down, the shortcuts at the top will first display the tiles in picture 1, then it will automatically swipe to picture 2:
Picture 1:
Picture 2:
Is there any method that can modify / remove tiles at the top? Or at least make it like picture 2 in default when I pull down, no swiping.
2. In this ROM, the Task Manager no longer display in app drawer like Android 2.3.6, instead I need to long press Home button to go to "Recent App" screen and tap the pie chart icon at the lower left corner to open Task Manager. I'm curious, the system app is in \system\app, and it IS an .apk. So I wonder if I can at least make a shortcut from it and add to "Home Screen", I always need to use it and I don't want to download third party app for this shortcut.
Recent Apps screen:

3. The default Launcher in the stock ROM is TouchWizHome, and by default there are no indication when you tap an icon to open the app. So I wonder if I can add some "effect" to notify me when I open an app, like dim the icon or glow at the edge of icon.
4. If you are a Titanium Backup user, please tell me that should I wipe system apps' data first before uninstall it. Because it always gives me a feeling of "unclean" if I don't wipe the data before uninstall it. I always uninstall system app to keep my phone slimmer and faster.
Thank you in advance.
Wrong thread.
Try to search for an xposed module...

So: I always use a custom launcher. First thing I do when I boot in a new rom Is to set my launcher as default home screen and give it all needed permissions, then I disable the system launcher, because obviously I don't want it to run non stop in background eating ram. Every time I try I find myself unable to use the recent apps feature (swipe and hold from bottom of screen). Anyone is experiencing the same irritating thing? Is there a solution? Maybe something I'm missing?
Big thanks to answerers.
