As you all know by now, LG L90 does not have a light sensor, so screen brightness must be adjusted manually. After reading this great tutorial for L9:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279971
I have found out that the Lite (free) version works very well, and no need for Takers. As of now, I am using version 1.99.9999.1l and Battery Use settings on my phone doesn't even display it so it seems that battery drain while using this app is kept to a minimum:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitocassisi.luxlite
Once the Lite version is installed, it automatically detects that there is no light sensor and enables the front camera as the light reading search. Just go to Profile Editor after tapping the gear icon, go to Luma tab and set your personal profile. Mine is below:
- Luma = 1, Brightness = 25%
- Luma = 87, Brightness = 50%
- Luma = 255, Brightness = 100%
You can add more values and/or change the ones above to suit your needs.
Simply keep Adjust set to On Wake or Manually, or it will disable the camera and it will stop working. If it happens, go to Settings -> Applications and erase app data, then configure it all over again (you can backup the Profile to SD once you set it up, just in case).
Tips:
- Try to enable "Shake to brighten", it might be useful.
- Even if Adjust On Wake is selected, you can for a brightness adjust using the Reload button in the Notification are, or simply by opening the app.

So from the lock screen? I have also tried holding it and it doesn't go to silent, it selects option but doesn't work.
I just hold the vol down button down for a second or two if the phone is not locked . If its locked, I use the slider on the lock screen (I use the AOSP lock screen).
Ummmm there is a button in the pulldown. Second one from the right.
hahaha
There is an free app in the market. Search curvefish and look for "silentmode on off". It adds a widget that toggles from vibrate to silent back to ring again. It's usually one of the first apps I reinstall.
I use CM7 and have 2 profiles, 1 is school and 1 is normal... School will mute EVERYTHING from alarms to any type of notification to media. Normal will make everything medium volume..
Its fairly simple to setup and its incredibly easy to switch.

Hey everyone!! I'm here with a new app that solves an issue I'm sure that every one of you have had. AutoGPS rectifies having to turn GPS on and off whenever you use Maps or Navigation. You never have to worry about your GPS again, helping you save time and battery.
AutoGPS - Google Play Store
-----------------------------------------------------
Play Store Description:
AutoGPS manages the Location Settings of your device to switch to High Accuracy(GPS) whenever Google Maps needs it. Never be prompted again to change your Location Mode again. Never worry about wasting your battery to your GPS always being on, AutoGPS will take care of it for you.
☆Only works with Google Maps
☆Requires Secures Settings (Uses Root)
☆Requires Notification Listener
Secure Settings: http://goo.gl/NCoJJ
The System+ Module must be enabled for Secure Settings to work.
Notification Listener: http://goo.gl/ljTj2p
It must be turned on in the Security Settings of your device, under "Notification Access".
Important:
AutoGPS doesn't really ask for many permissions to manage the GPS for Maps.
Lock Screen Permissions:
Allows the device to know that you're not actually navigating anywhere and instead just have the screen off.
Retrieve Running Apps Permissions:
Allows the app to know when you're running Google Maps.
Run at Startup Permissions:
This allows the app to do its magic stuff without having to run it manually every time.
Prevent From Sleeping Permissions:
Keep Android running while Google Maps is active to manage GPS.

Hello to all,
I've received my phone yesterday
I've noticed that "Motorola Modality Services" subsystem uses location services using hardware GPS, which incurs "high battery use":

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
According to it's description:
"Motorola Modality Services helps your Motorola phone respond more intelligently to motion, phone orientation (e.g. face up/down) and stowed state (e.g in/out-of-pocket).
Note: Motorola Assist and Motorola Active Display use this service. Keeping it updated allows you to benefit from their latest features." I don't understand why this service needs to have access to location and morover why high accuracy is needed.
Is this normal?
I believe it's for the Driving and Home modes in Moto Assist. I have an issue with it automatically resetting to high accuracy even when I set it to battery saver mode under Location settings. No solution found to it yet other than manually setting it to battery saver each time I toggle location.

That's also what I guess, but it should be able to detect modes using only accelerometer and gyro. This
would be a much less battery intensive approach I think.
Hello;
Not only am I new to the Note 5, but Android too. I come from Windows Phone (a Lumia 1520).
I can't find the option to have notifications wake up my screen. Supposedly is under Settings -> Sounds and Notifications, but it is not showing for me. See the screencap.
I downloaded Glimpse Notifications, but I figured it should be a stock option? Also, is there a way to increase the timeout for the screen when Glimpse Notifications turns it on?
Oh, I followed dlthe de-bloat and de-touchwiz guide from the General subforum. Used the basic xml to disable packages. Don't know if that's related.
Thanks for any guidence!

Hi,
If you use these toggles a lot (which you should), a quick edit now will make your life easier.
Organize the quick settings
Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-toggles
1. Pull down the Quick Settings and tap EDIT in the top right corner
2. From here you can drag the toggles around as you like
3. There must be at least 5 toggles in the Quick Settings
TO remove unnecessarily apps
Let’s do it.
1.Open the app drawer to see all of your apps
2.Long-press on the app you’d like to remove
3.The app drawer will close and you’ll see an option for Disable or Uninstall
4.Drag the app to the trash can
If you would like to revive a disabled app you can go to Settings > Applications > Application manager. Swipe over to the Disabled tab and find the app.

Auto Rotate Screen For Specific Apps
There are specific apps that I'd like to always run in landscape mode. YouTube is one that I would like to stay in landscape and not rotate if my phone goes a bit upright. The same goes for just about any app where I'm watching video. So this tasker profile is really simple and lets you assign landscape mode to specific apps.

Steps:
Create new profile, select application then choose your desired app.
Create a New task and tap the “+” icon. Select “Display” then set “Display Autorotate” to ON.

Not working on my Moto X PLay (MM and no root)
Not to take anything away from Tasker, but this per-app rotation preference problem is directly solved by Ultimate Rotation Control. bonus, it has a tasker plugin.
