Hi people, I have a big problem with my friend's Razr i, I was trying to root it, but i didn't want to unlock my bootloader so tried several methods but not a single one worked, So i tried the one for unlocked bootloaders and ended up bricking my device, Now It's stuck on fastboot mode.
I've tried to flash some brazilian firmwares via RSD lite, but it get stuck on "6/9 flashing radio_signed" SO PLEASE SOMEONE GUIDE ME TO THE SOLUTION WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
PS: Also tried to flash an argentinian Firmware but it didn't even let me start flashing bringing the error "Faled flashing process. Unknown fastboot command. (getvar)"
PS2: Also tried the eternityprj Alternate method without RSD, and it gets stuck on flashing recovery... and it also prompts some errors you can see in the attached file.
HELP ME PLEASE AS I SAID THE RAZR IS A FRIEND'S PHONE NOT MINE, I NEED TO SAVE IT.

your secure level was to high for a non bootloader method and if you done a method with a unlocked bootloader and your bootloader was locked thats bad.
unlock your bootloader >>WARRANTY VOID<< install cwm and use any backup. or flash the 39 gb fw but i think you have yet to unlokc the bootloader to safe it.. and be patient dont try to much stuff if your battery goes low you need a factory adapter or something like this to charge ur razr i if the battery is down.
regards hope you get it waorking again
I solved my problem this way

Hello good morning
I brick 2 phones trying to get one of them and in the process did fail at 2, how the recovery?
1. - Use RSD Lite version 6.1.4
2. - Use 1 extra phone (htc wildfire root and backup CWMR in case of failure)
3. - Use a GB retail rom (CFC_8.7.1I-110_IFW-39_S7_UCASMI01E1017.0R_USASMIICSRTGB_P042_A005_S1FF_fb.xml)
4. - The phone to unbrick, put fastboot mode, switching on via the power button and vol (-) until the fastboot mode screen read "fastboot reason:" if it does not, re-try until there is
5. should not say "fastboot reason: flash failure, or anything else xxxxxx xxxx xxxxx ............"
6. - Boot rsd lite 6.1.4, select retail rom, and indicate that only "unzip" connects your motorola razr I, and it connects back to the other phone (in my case htc wildfire), which has a debug mode enabled.
7. - Note, that in the window of the Rsd Lite in row 1, the Razr I phone is detected, then you start flashing in RSD Lite 6.1.4, see screenshot of your razr I to see that data is being sent, (the other phone should not be affected and only serves as a decoy to usb drivers, Rsd lite at least do not damage to my phone)
8. - Remember flashing erase the card was in your internal Razr I therefore will lose programs, photos or music you had or downloaded to the SD or internal virtual
9. - Flashing can stop and have to do everything again, but remember that no fastboot mode screen should read:
"fastboot reason: flash failure or otherwise else xxxxxx xxxxxxx ......." must be clean that is just:
"fastboot reason: "
luck : Good:
Warning, do not take responsibility for any damage to your cell involved in the process, ......... the lure of the phone can be found on youtube and just suits the way because of my need to get my phone ........ in no way am programmer or software developer, for which only comment what turned out ok to me
excuse my bad English

Could PM Me with the instructions in spanish, there are some things that i do not understand in your english
Tried to use your method but RSD lite got stuck on "4/11 erase userdata" and the phone says "program dummy sp block for userdata" I don't thin I understood well the part of the second phone, does it have to be on, i mean normal on, or does it have to be in flashmode aswell?
Hey guys,
i did stupid things witch my razr i and now i'm completely lost…maybe someone can help?
I've been impatient enough to try to flash the leaked jb rom 3 days ago. That did'nt work
No, whenever i power up the phone it shows the red M logo and nothing happens.
I can power it down by holding vol+down and power for more than 4 seconds.
If i release the keys, it goes back to te red M,
If i keep holding vol+down it boot s into AP fastboot flash mode (secure boot) 20.0f
i can choose recovery and that'll work, but i don't have an update for external storage. rebooting from there leads to red M.
Normal Powerup, Factory and BP Tools are choosable, log says Booting into… but nothing happens after that, i'll stay in fastboot.
Power off works.
I tried to flash various images via »fastboot flash boot/recovery/system«, but nothing worked out.
I flashed the files from Razri_Root_Linux, two files (retail central europe) from here sbf.droid-developers, but nothing helped, every reboot leads to the red M.
I read about RSD-Lite, tried to install it under Win7, got it, but was lost after the Program always complained about an invalid xml.
Since i don't own that machine i went back to my linuxbox where i found sbf_flash, but i don't get it how to put the pieces together (which file/s to use)
Any hints on how to go from here?
[EDIT:] I downloaded 91.2.26001.Retail.en.EU.zip and did all the steps from flashandboot.bat, read
fastboot flash boot
fastboot flash system
fastboot flash recovery
next step ist to select recovery, did this an cwm comes up, sideloaded RAZRiRoot2.zip everything is pisitively quited, no errors are shown.
reboot leads to red M
wiped data/factory reset, reboot
red Logo.
I'm completely lost, please help
[\EDIT]

I had same problem
Hello.
I had same problem because I did very stupid thing. I flashed homemade JB and because some apps don´t work I tried downgrade my i to ICS back....
My i stucked at the red M then I tried same thing as you and phone still booted into red M.
So I tried in windows cmd and FlashAndRoot.bat from this .zip "91.2.26001.Retail.en.EU - 4.1.2" it did nothing, but I tried to choose in fastboot mode BP Tools, then my i booted and started to flash JB what I can see in command window. Phone was still connected to PC. After next reboot my phone has work normally with JB.
I hope to help you. Let me know.

and after some time pc automounts a "cd-rom drive" with some motorola files (Autorun.inf MDMSetup.xml MotorolaDeviceManagerSetup.exe MDMSetup.ini MotorolaDeviceManager_2.2.28)
but it still won't reboot…
i don't know.
Hi.
I had opened command window, "FlashAndRoot.bat" was running (I pressed any key) process was running (it means freezing ) and at this time I chose in fastboot booting into BP tools mode. My phone did restart and after it "FlashAndRoot.bat" process started to flash JB. After flashing my phone is going normally with JB. But some apps don´t work in JB.

Doesn't work. :crying:
since i use linux i opened FlashAndRoot.bat in texteditor and executed the comands from there in terminal
only chance for the script to stop and wait is IMHO(correct-me-if-i'm-wrong) "adb wait-for-device push RAZRiRoot2.zip /sdcard/RAZRiRoot2.zip & adb reboot bootloader"
but that message "Booting into BP Tools mode…" just stays there forever, or does it take longer than 5minutes?

In my case it booted within 10 second and ran.
I am noob, I am writing just my experience. I couldn´t give you another advice, sorry.
I'm not sure how far the real installation went, but i would find Windows computer, get RSD (6.0-6.14) and try to flash ICS first. If failed due to impossibility of downgrading, then try JB. While you are able to boot to Recovery - don't loose hope yet

Yeah. I'm still stuck at the red logo, or indeed, at a blueish "Bootloader unlocked warnig" message since i was able to install parts of an image from sbf.droid-developers. But flashing always fails while trying to flash system.img_signed.
After reading and trying a lot these last days i think i have to install windows somewhere just to get rsd-lite to run.
sbf_flash for linux didn't work for me and fastboot gives stange warnings about "Invalid sparse file format at header magi"…
so i'll give rsd a try before i give up. As i read in posts by HSDPilot, this is the only tool that works
thanks for your help!
I'm having the same issue as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2417726
But there was no resolution that the OP posted.
I was running the 9/13/13 PacMan rom when I tried to restart because the phone was running slow. When the phone booted back up, it was stuck at the unlocked bootloader message.I could get into CWM, I tried to reflash the rom, and wipe everything but nothing worked. I also tried flashing all 3 of the stock firmwares (found here: sbf.droid-developers.org/dinara/list.php) in RSDLite, but they all fail. I was trying to follow the instructions in post #6 of the other thread, but they weren't making sense to me..... what can I try. Currently I'm just sitting here at the fast boot screen.
Thanks

(I believe it says Full Android Emulator) right click that one and install the driver by choosing one and use the Motorola ADB driver. Replug the device then try again.
Now, if you are using RSD and the device is showing, is it failing due to the XML files being wrong? Remember you have to delete the GetVar max download size lines, there is two of them, as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231249&highlight=rsd
When trying to flash: 7.7.1Q-144_MB886_MR1-22_SIGNED_CFC.xml
RSD Lite is giving the error: "Failed flashing process. Unknown fastboot command. (getvar)"

In Device Manager it says ADB Interface -> Mot Single ADB Interface.
I have use ADB commands with this computer to the ATRIX HD before so it should work.
In fast boot, I've noticed it says
"Fastboot reason: Flash Failure
usb connected
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT"
UPDATE:
I have removed the "<step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />" lines from the .XMF files now I get the "Failed flashing process. 1/23 flash partition "gpt_main0.bin" ->Phone returned FAIL." on all the files.
Make sure the files are put on desktop and not a folder and try again going to stock

That didn't seem to help. Before I just had them on the root of the D drive but I am getting the same errors from the desktop. Not sure if it matters, but I'm running RSD Lite 6.1.5.
Update: Tried 6.1.4... no luck.
Maybe running the rsdlite as admin?
Open a new Fastboot without usb connection to PC then connect and open rsdlite again and try. I had this problem before and playing with it i manage to flash stock. I forgot how exactly I did though. Just keep trying. I know one of my issues was to put the att stock rom on desktop

Just tried that, I am now using a real Motorola USB cable too.
If I remove the "<step operation="flash" partition="partition" filename="gpt_main0.bin" MD5="900113B868E61E8FC4E59F72C0B67193" />" line from all the files, I get an error that says "Failed flashing process. 1/22 flash sbl1 "sbl1.mbn" -> USB error occurred while reading/writing." Otherwise, I get the error "Failed flashing process. 1/23 flash partition "gpt_main0.bin" -> USB error occurred while reading/writing."
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. This isn't my first Motorola phone, I've used RSD Lite before in the past as well as ODIN for Samsung phones and have never had any issues so difficult to solve. I'm not even sure what file I should be flashing. I came from the latest 4.1.1 then flashed 4.3 PacMan rom.
I tried another computer and getting the same errors in RSD Lite. In Myth Tools, it says it's flashing the firmware for about 15 minutes but when it reboots, it seems to just go right back into fastboot.
I tried to manually push something using fastboot and this is what I get:
D:\Parker\Desktop\Myth Tools - AHD>fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn
sending 'sbl1' (99 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.022s]

Is it failing BECAUSE the battery is low? It doesn't seem to be charging.
I bought the Motorola Factory Adapter from Team Black Hat. I saw on write-up on droid life on how to create one but I really don't have the time to do it.
Buying the adapter solved the problem.
Were you able to flash other ROMs successfully & stably after that? I've been in the same boat & can't get past a reboot after flashing a custom ROM.

Yes I was. I installed a different ROM but... I woke up after leaving it on the charger all night a few days ago and the phone was off. Getting the unlocked bootloader message again... the only way to get around it seems to be reflashing. It's really annoying.

What was your previous stock fastboot used and what rom are you trying to flash? I ask this because our development is based off of 4.1.2 RAZR HD stock and I've noticed 4.1.1 only flashers here sometimes have issues. Since the unlock, my stock changed to 4.1.2 Mex Retail (manually flashed everything via fastboot) and I've only been stuck on the bootloader screen once (had to do the sticky bit fix ).
Also, if you're an ATT user, the Mex Retail radio will give you a better signal and I can say that with 100% confidence. My Dad and I both have Atrix HD's, his runs stock 4.1.1 unrooted and mine running anything with Mex Retail radio, I've had 2 bars of service in known dead zones and my Dad had no service less than a foot away -- and that's happened in multiple dead zone/bad signal areas.
How do I go about flashing just the radio and staying on pac? @skeevydude
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
I think this method will work to flash a new radio without affecting the rom. I installed the Mexico Retail radio onto Holoblur without affecting Holoblur at all.
Assuming you have a Windows machine:
1) install the adb/fastboot files to a single directory on my computer;
2) place the NON-HLOS.bin file you got from the desired rom in the adb/fastboot directory from step 1;
3) open a command prompt window as an administrator;
4) install the Motorola USB drivers and connect my booted phone with USB debugging enabled;
5) from the command line, type "adb reboot bootloader" and press the enter key to get my phone into AP Fastboot Flash mode;
6) from the command line, type "fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin" and press enter; and
7) reboot the phone and check to made sure the baseband is the one you wanted.

Myth comes with the correct files. Very important to specify the correct fastboot because the stock sdk fastboot doesn't flash our images correctly and has led to a lot of confusion in the past.

Old post, but still relevant issue. Hope this helps, anyone else getting these errors.
After unlocking bootloader and having flashed MX retail. When using RSDlite I had to remove the "getvar" lines. I've tried to flash back to ATT stock, but can not get past "gpt_main0.bin".
RSDlite can and will finish flash MX retail and Bell stock after editing out "getvar".

Disclaimer: Even though this worked for me I am not responsible if you brick your phone, I am simply sharing my experience
Okay, this is not for the faint of heart and is going to sound a little backward but it just worked for me an hour ago. RSD no longer recognizes my phone in fastboot mode even though it did two weeks ago. Myth Tools however does recognize my phone, it just won't complete the whole flashing process without "intervention".
btw I am running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, and nothing has changed on that.
When using fastboot (mfastboot) to flash manually through the command prompt I get the same error when flashing "gpt_main0.bin" and a few others. Back to Myth Tools,, I was having problems even starting it until I just double clicked on flashing.bat or main.bat instead of running it as administrator. After all I AM the admin of my PC. Then, it worked perfect...until flashing "tz.mbn", it sent it fine, but froze up while writing the file. I thought mmm...it shouldn't take that long to write such a small file, and writing happens on the phone side (I believe) so I unplugged the USB while leaving the Myth Tools window open, which disconnected the phone obviously. I plugged it back in and Myth continued from where it left off, with a failure where I unplugged it obviously. It didn't actually fail though.
(Note: I did this a few weeks ago when I lost my radios and manually flashed "NON-HLOS.bin", which froze, but I followed the same procedure and it successfully flashed it)
Anyway, it got to the last system.img chunk (it writes it in small chunks of 30mb and the last one is smaller, that's how I knew it was the last one) it froze again. I let it sit for about 5mins just to make sure it was written to the phone then repeated the sequence of unplugging and replugging the USB and bang, once again it continued right where it left off. one or two more freezes and voila...it rebooted right back to stock. Well, I had to reflash my radio again, but that was easy.
FYI: My xml file has the two "getvar" lines removes due to my earlier attempts with RSD. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

There's no need to make multiple topics, my friend...
Remember that the TWRP IMG file must be in the same folder as your Fastboot files.
So, you can copy TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img file to the directory where your Fastboot is.
Or, you can type the directories correctly. For example, if your TWRP2.8.0.1 IMG file is located on your Desktop:
So, your command should be: fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\"username"\Desktop\TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img
Instead of typing, you can also drag-and-drop the TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img file into the CMD window.
Got it?

Fastboot and recovery are two different things. If you can get to Fastboot (bootloader) mode you should be able to flash recovery from there as stated by rafaelbrunner.
Hi Guys !
I'm facing a problem on rooting my Moto G 2014.
I've easily unlocked the bootloader but i can't flash the TWRP recovery.
I've read everything I could read about the process and I think I'm doing it the right way (the recovery file in the adb folder, etc...) and everything seems to be ok.
I've just a purple line at the end of the TWRP flashing procedure saying:
Mismatched partition size (recovery)
This post says that it's not really a problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48294073&postcount=6
Then, when I reboot the recovery, the phone reboots and the system starts normally (instead of restarting with the custom recovery ?). When I switch it off and switch it on in recovery mode, I still have the stock recovery.
Tried several times with TWRP 2.8.0.1
I can't say if it's because of a problem with TWRP (it's said here that it is buggy) or because I'm doing something wrong that I don't succeed.
I saw that there was a 2.7.1.1 release of TWRP for Moto G 2014 but it's no more available anywhere for now. I would have liked to try it...
Do you know if there's some known issues about flashing the Moto G 2014 recovery or can you help in any way ?
Hi guys !
I'm still investigating my problem and still trying to root the phone.
Here is what I get with adb:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash recovery TWAP2801 titan-motog-2014.img

The device seems to be seen when it's about writing the file on the storage but it's no more found when it's about rebooting the recovery...
Can someone help ?

Hi !
Thanks for your answer !
What do you mean exactly ? I didin't have any "old Moto usb drivers before". I installed them for the first time few days ago to unlock my bootloader.
Do I still have to uninstall these drivers (that are not that old) and install again the same ones ?

You can use "adb reboot recovery" only if the phone is turned on in normal android os ( in bootloader mode it'll only recognize fastboot commands ), and you must be sure also to have debug usb option enabled under settings/developer settings.

Hi eskamhl,
I warmly thank you for trying to help me.
I'had enabled usb debbug, no problem about that.
I"m not sure I understand what you mean when you say that the phone has to be " turned on in normal android os". I thought that the device had to started in recovery mode to install TWRP.
I tried to install TWRP with adb reboot recovery and with the phone turned on in normal android os.
adb says <waiting for device> when i paste and execute flash recovery TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img

Adb is one thing, fastboot is a different one.
If you give a "fastboot command" from the command prompt the phone must be in bootloader mode, instead if you give an "adb command" you must have the phone normally turned on.
Having said that, I didn't understand what's your problem... are you tryin' to boot into recovery mode or trying to flash twrp recovery?
It seems that you already flashed/installed a custom recovery ( TWRP ) from what you wrote, isn't it?

That's the point, I'm trying to flash a custom recovery (TWRP) in order to be able to flash SU.
I'm sorry about my poor english. I'm french and I confess that I'm absolutely comfortable in english.
For now the only thing I succeeded to do is to unlock the bootloader.
What I understand is that I have now to install TWRP with adb, am I right ?

No, you're not
You already did the installation of the custom recovery since you said that you received this message "Mismatched partition size (recovery)", now from bootloader menu you should boot into recovery ( volume down to scroll thorugh the options and volume up to select ).
If it won't boot maybe you should check the md5 of the downloaded recovery .img, probably it's a corrupted download.

When I try to boot into recovery from the bootloader (what I already did before), the screen turns black, 1 sec later the led switch on for half a sec and nothing else happends.
So, as you say, the recovery I downloaded was maybe corrupted. I'll check.
Guys, I've found the solution !
I think everything was ok from the beginning. The only thing that I did not understand was that I have to press vol- in fastboot to focus on "recovery" and to press vol+ to launch the recovery.
I didn't read it anywhere, i just see this in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr14wNgazOw&hd=1 (see at 7"15).
Anyway, thank you for trying to help me and see you soon for all the good things coming for this phone !

Help! My Motorola RAZR I XT890 cannot be "unbricked" and I tried several methods...
Hello!
I unlocked the bootloader successfully, then I tried to root my phone using The Razr guy method and I used the "RAZRi_Root_Windows" file, while rooting my phone went to the "warning bootloader unlocked" screen and it just loops forever from that screen, the bat file, showed that it successfully rooted my phone. I tried to fix it using rsd lite, but it never detects my phone, so I searched for a way to make my pc able to detect it, so I found I could use Intel xFSTK, installed it but still nothing it doesn't appear as shown in the tutorial, I even downloaded the dll file that it needed to run, but after running the xFSTK DLDR or something like that, the application is completely empty, and I saw it should show some tools to download something. Also tried using Linux Zorin, but it only says that my XT890 cannot be accessed and shows an usb error code.
I am able to enter the fastboot screen, the one you get by pressing POWER and VOLUME DOWN, also it charges my batter completely normal. Also my pc is able to show that the XT890 is connected, but only before installing the drivers and it shows the CD installer for the Motorola Device Manager and some other files (all this while looping), and if I enter the fastboot flash mode, it appears as "fastboot smi S", with a yellow triangle and an exclamation sign while in Windows device manager. It has Jelly Bean update from telcel (mexico), and I already have the xml.zip file to reinstall it.
I use windows 8.1 , and as mentioned Linux Zorin on my PC.
Could some help me with it...if you now how to fix it please list every single step on how to do it T_T, THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
It looks like the root method changed something bad in your system partition and that's why it won't boot up. First thing to do is installing the correct Motorola drivers. When in fastboot the device should be normally listed and could be acceded by fastboot. If fastboot is working well, use rsd lite to recover it or flash the system partition manually.
If everything is working well, consider installing a custom recovery and flashing a SuperSU zip for root access.

Thanks for answering!!
I've checked on some websites that if the phone is not detected by RSD Lite it maybe due to a bug in the phone's driver that happens only on windows 8/8.1, so I will try to do the same thing on windows 7 and see what happens...
Hope it works...T_T

That could be it.
I just noticed u have unlocked your bootloader. That means u have used fastboot earlier to get the unlock code into the device. So the drivers should work perfectly if u are in the good device modes. Try to flash the system_signed image manually though fastboot and see what happens ("fastboot flash system <path-to-system_signed-image>", u may need mFastboot for that(is inside the rsd-lite package))
Just for the record if u didn't know:
Adb: works only in selected recovery's and normal boot(sometimes in charging mode as well)
Fastboot: works only in AP fastboot mode (power+vol-down, black screen with white/blue text (rsd-lite needs this mode))
XFSTK: works only in medfield flash modues, something u don't need to be with that kind of error
Thanks again!!!

I am able to enter RECOVERY MODE NOW (I installed CWM, before this I was only able to see the android lying on the floor ans saty dead right there, I was supposed to press Volume + and - and the camera button at the same time, but nothing happened), it seems to be easier to unbrick it this way, but now the problem is that after I follow the steps to reinstall the original ROM, it aborts installation. I read this may be caused due to a file on the zip file, I looked for it, but nor the Folder META-INF, whic is supposed to contain a "update-script" file, nor that file is anywhere in the ROM folder...
I've even tried cyanogenmod (after first trying Telcel original ROM and then the retail GB ROM) cuz it actually contains the folder previously mentioned and the file is in a different path, but it is there, I modified it, but got a "Can't open tmd/update.zip (bad) Installation aborted" error...I don't know what else to do T_T...
Note: I also used sideload and CWM to install it, but the same thing happens. Also checked some other post about this issue, but none has helped me...
What zip file are u installing?
If u want to go back to stock, just use a RSD lite package for 4.1.2 or install TWRP and restore a TWRP backup to go to 4.4.2. There is no official RSD lite package for 4.4.2 and the update.zip doesn't work if your system doesn't boot already.

It's done! Thanks!
I actually used another computer with windows 10, also I used RSD Lite and it worked just fine, now I have the stock ROM from Telcel and it it is working almost normal. The only abnormality I've seen is that my phone turns itself off when battery is at 20%, I searched info about that problem and it says I may re calibrate the battery, so it may work fine again, but now I need to root again to be able to do that T_T, hope it works this time...
THANKS! again!
