How to block SMS with xposed blacklist on Android 5? - Xposed General

Hey there,
I installed xposed + blacklist on my Nexus 6 and successfully blocked a number. Phone calls will be blocked, how ever when I get an SMS I get a "Blacklist pop up" about the sms, but it will still be shown in my sms app and I also have the usual sms notification?

[Q] *86 Voicemail

I know this has probably been answered a billion times already, but I can't get the voicemail to go away on aospCMod. I already flashed Google Voice and changed the voicemail number to my own, but the notification still pops up every 3-5 minutes. How do I go about getting rid of it?
You mean you don't want a voicemail at all?
No. I still want voice mail, I just don't want the ghost voice mail notification popping up
Ah, the old phantom texts. Haven't seen that in years. I can't give you a direct link since I'm using the app, but search for the SMS Char Limit thread. It has a solution there. Or you can get a program to block those texts; which at the moment the name escapes me.
And that's really odd for you to still receive those if Google is taking your voice mails.
Super Private Conversation (SPC) from the market. Block the text number in the program and you still get the texts, so VVM still works, but you don't get notifications and your message box doesn't fill up with them.
Try that and see if it works.
Well no, it's not the 9016 texts. Have them blocked with handcent. I mean the ones where if you're on a non sense rom you get a vm notification. It says to call *86 to get the voicemail. But if you do it says it's an invalid number or something. I read somewhere that if you change the number to your own number it fixes...which it didn't.
Nevermind. Found a fix. Since I have Gingerbread there is an option to turn off voicemail notifications. Can't believe I didn't see that.
Where is this option at ? Mine always says I have 8 voicemails, and drives me insane !

I think it's only on aospCMod, but you go into Settings>Call settings and scroll down and turn off voicemail notifications. I use Google Voice which gives notifications from the app itself, not from the phone app, so they stop

Blocking Calls

Is there a way to block specific calls only and allow text messages?
Is there a way to block ALL calls only and allow text messages?
Both of these options were available on my Note 4 in Marshmallow. In this phone on Nougat, I only see a way to block calls AND text messgaes; not one or the other.

Blocking hidden numbers XZ1 compact Android 9? (without root)

Do you know any good non-root apps to block anonymous callers / hidden numbers on the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact with Android 9 Pie?
I tried the apps Calls Blacklist and Simple Private Call Blocker but when I enable blocking of private/hidden numbers, these apps start blocking ALL incoming calls.
Any suggestions on an app that will work fine to achieve this?
Ah shoot, you're asking specifically for Android Pie. Sorry, please ignore my reply.
I tried Call Blocker. It fails to block anonymous callers.
Same for Extreme Call Blocker but it again fails to block anonymous callers.
Anyone who got this working already?
I had success with the app "Mr Number"
It is the only app i found so far that works with the XZ1 Compact on Android 9 to block incoming calls with hidden numbers.

Android Messages on Note 9

I have chosen to use Android Messages vs the the Samsung Messages app that orginally came with the phone. I personally prefer Android Messages as it's simple and not so compacted. Anyhow recently, I notice I can't get notifications for some reason its like it's set to a timer that will allow the notification to be on the lock screen or pull down menu. Perhaps another way of describing it is: it's when I have multiple sms messages but nowhere was I informed that I had messages, but if only one message comes I get the proper notification. It's weird as... All my notifications are properly all set up and the app is updated to the latest verison..
Hi, did you get a solution to this, I have a similar problem on my Note 9 Default SMS App, I never get notifications when I get any texts. I can only see them when i open Messages APP

Emergency alerts (Android 10) in other SMS apps

Hi,
is there any way to receive emergency alert messages in other apps and not in the default Messages?
I asked Textra about it and the answer was:
If the amber alert / emergency alert comes in as a SMS it will show up in Textra, if it comes in as a push notification it will only show up on your pre-installed messaging app out of the box, poor practice we know, but this is their way of trying to lock you in.
This is the same for all other messaging apps.
I hope this clarifies.

The problem is that when an alert comes (and since I have Textra as default sms app) instead of viewing the alert I get a popup to choose another messaging app!
Does this happen to anyone else? Any ideas?
