hello guys,
i just wanna know if its possible to add folder icons without the (line, grid, fan)
just a single icon and when i tap on it it open with the app icons in it. is that possible with zooper widget ?
any help is more than appreciated.
thanks
Yes, no widget needed. Just create the folder, then long press and select Edit to choose your icon.
Alternatively do the long press and tap edit that h0bnail suggested and then enable "Swipe to open folder". It will then default to the first app (and display the icon for it) but when you swipe up on the app it will open the folder. This only works with home screen folders but thought you might want to know.

Yeah but that'll be a shortcut to the "Word Mobile program" not the file/document and I've got loads of word files on my device.
make a shortcut of the file and drop it in the progams folder under windows>start menu>programs. It will then appear in the list of programs to add to HTC home plugin.

OK, here's the solution:
1. Open File Explorer
2. Press and hold your stylus over the word document until a pop-up menu appears
3. Tap "Copy"
4. In File Explorer, go to Windows > Start Menu.
5. Now, tap "Menu > Edit > Paste as Shortcut"
Now, your word doument will appear when you click the + sign in HTC Home
hope this helps
Thanks!
I've done it!!!
adding programs to launcher - not bringing the program
I am trying to add program by hitting the + sign in launcher. It is bringing the programs. after I select a program - launcher is not adding it to the launcher. I can remove the existing programs. I have added 4 programs long time back. If I hit remove they are going away from launcher. But - programs are not getting added.
Any help? Thanks.
Hello Everyone,
I am having a lot of issues with Better Cut. It seems like I am unable to create shortcuts using the program.
Here is what I have been doing:
I want to create a custom shortcut for Camera
1. Push and hold blank area on the homescreen then select "shortcuts"
2. Select Better Cut
3. Select Activity then Camera
4. Click "change icon" then "pick picture"
5. I find the .png I like in the gallery and click on it.
6. Click create
Then nothing happens...
Can anyone who has used this program please help me out?
FYI, I am running Rodriguez's Froyo Mod.
Thanks in advance!
Some people seem to havea similar issue depending on the launcher they where using. I had the issue when adw first came to the market. I did a wipe and this worked for me.
Not sure of the launcher, butif the regular camera shortcut is on, you can open BetterCut and choose Edit Shortcut and choose a new icon
I want to make few folders or labels if possible with apps shortcut inside it, is it possible?
daily use>few apps inside this folder
gps> 4 apps inside this folder
photo
games
education
kids
multimedia
etc
Also I would like to rename the apps shortcuts which have long names, is there a way to do that?
Basically I want to remain quite organized on my home screen, as of now I have to browse a long list to reach the app or place the shortcut on 1 of the home screen but then I forget on which home screen the app is?
Sure,
Long press on your home screen, then folder (new folder - long press on it -> edit -> chose a name/icon). Then go in your app drawer long touch on the app, and finaly drag the shortcut in the folder you created.
Wao!, I didn't even know long press existed on blank screen, I did what you suggested & that solves my issue now I can organize my apps in a better way.
Thanks

Yw, just change the topic title as [Solved].
I can recommend Simi folders, its free and it allows you to customize your folders a bit. Also gives nice launcher options. like and iphone popup or transparent background etc.

Yes, of course you can! You are allowed upto 7 homscreens in the default Touchwiz UI. All you have to do is select one which has no widgets or shortcuts and have it as your default screen. You can also manually delete widgets and shortcuts by holding the widget and dragging it to the bottom of the screen (dustbin icon).

To preview all your homescreens pinch inwards (similar to pinch to zoom out)..

If you want a completely clean screen, you may have to use another launcher. I use ssLauncher, and it can do that. Others can too, I am sure.
Actually, you can get rid of them. Just tap on applications button from home screen (bottom right button) > menu button > edit > slide bottom buttons away and voila
If you do this, make sure at least the applications button is somewhere on another home screen.
Don't think it's very practical, though.

At this point I have 2 homescreens left. One with the application button at the bottom and the widgets and shortcuts I use most and one with only my wallpaper but still the application button visible at the bottom. As you can understand I want to get rid of the application bottom at the last mentioned homescreen, but that doesn't seem to work. Tapping on the application button the application menu opens, but the application button then is no longer visible and it is changed in the homepage-button.
you might want to look into the app called SwipePad
its awesome for minimalistic homescreen with LOTS of options for quick app access

Thanks for the tip....but I'd prefer to accomplish this without installing an app that changes my lay-out and graphics and also changes it to English. I don't have problems with this language, but I'm Dutch, so I want my phone keep it that way.
As the title asks. GB had an option in Settings. But ICS doesn't. Anybody know how to assign different quicklaunch?

Do you mean the double-click on Home button shortcut? That has been moved to the Accessibility section of the config. Otherwise I'm not sure what you are referring to.. so hope this helps!
I think he may be referring to the search+"*" like search+y used to bring up YouTube... I remember there being a topic on this in soak test but I do not recall the solution...
Sent from my DROID4 using xda app-developers app
This was the workaround for the droid 3, but I believe it will work for the droid 4 also.
Nevermind I figured out a workaround via Google. Pain in the ass there has to be a way to unhide it but if anyone is interested the steps I took were...
1. Must be using either nova or apex launcher
2. Long press on home screen and select shortcuts
3. Select activities (for whichever launcher you are using nova or apex)
4. Scroll down and select settings
5. Scroll down and select Quick Launch (the first one) and it should create the shortcut icon on your desktop
The shortcut takes you to the old quick Launch menu that allows you to assign the keys but I don't know where Google hid it thru the regular menu. Hope this helps anyone as much as it's gonna help me if not then what the hell you read it for? Lol
