Is there a way to completely silence every and all sounds from the Moto X?
Even when I have the volumes for Ringer, Media, and Alarm all set to 0, if I accidentally sat the "Ok Google Now" hotword, it still makes a launch beep.
I can disable to launch beep in the Touchless Control menu, but if I accidentally said something after I accidentally launched Touchless control and the phone starts calling/googling, it still makes a beep.
This is bad if an ambient noise manages to mimic my voice during a test or movie or something.

How would that be remotely possible?
Retrain your phone

Had th is phone for a few days now. At first the touch less control would randomly activate. Retrained it and it has solved that problem.

He may have a bird!?
Ever since Lollipop I have been frustrated with the lack of ability to turn off the phone's vibrate easily. I used to just set my phone to silent mode all the time (in fact, all day at work). Now my phone is probably louder than it would be otherwise simply because it's vibrating my whole freaking desk every time a notification comes across. I tried using tasker to just lower the volumes but you still can't turn off the vibrate. How in the world can I get this phone to simply show the notifications on the screen (or my Moto 360) without sound and without vibrating?
Also just to add, if I set my priority to None, it will be silent and still show the notifications on the screen, but then they won't show on my Moto 360. Ugh.
For 360-only notifications: Android Wear app -> Settings -> Mute phone alerts & calls
This way, your phone will be silent and your 360 will function as normal. However, this won't stop your 360 from vibrating.
Hi,
I have the Smart Lock feature turned on and set to keep my phone unlocked whenever a trusted device is connected, which in my case is my bluetooth headphones.
However, I realize that when I disconnect my bluetooth headphones, Smart Lock still keeps the phone unlocked until I manually turn off Bluetooth.
I have experienced this issue from Oreo and it didn't seem to be fixed after updating to Pie.
Is this normal operation of Smart Lock, and if it is, is there any way to configure this setting, or is this a bug?
Thanks.
Not normal. I keep Bluetooth on all day, since I have a Gear S3 watch. I have smart lock set to stay unlocked when connected to my Bluetooth in my Jeep and it works perfect. Once I shut off the Jeep, the screen lock goes back to normal.
I'm finding Bixby routines to be a real treat. I have several set up already.
When I get to work, it turns on airplane mode, activates wifi and bluetooth, connects to my speaker, sets volume to a low level, opens my play music and starts playing.
Listening to headphones - it turns off bluetooth, sets the volume to a certain level and starts playing Samsung music.
YouTube and Google maps - automatically rotate.
I have several others too. Pretty amazing in my opinion.
Agreed. They are a treat that they have that, but i still feel tasker is a bit more advanced, but not easy to use as bixby routines.
I like them, but lack of integration with smart home is a wasted opportunity
If I can use Bixby voice to turn my lights on why can't I use a routine for example

I haven't noticed a difference.
Running the AOE notifications app, I set the screen to 100% brightness while that app runs in bixby routines. Notification around the notch is awesome.
Thought of this one yesterday -
20% media volume on 9gag, Instagram, Reddit and YouTube. I hate clicking something to play sound and the creator thought it'd be funny to blast whatever sounds are with it. This ends that issue. ?
I noticed something...
when connected to my car bluetooth I set up to enable the GPS and to open the WAZE app. when it is opened I can see the GPS icon but when I receive a whatsapp or so and I click on it, it puts WAZE to the background but the GPS icon goes away...when I bring WAZE to the foreground again, I see it needs to update where I am as it gets GPS signal again...which is quite strange as the GPS icon in the quicklaunch remains active as long as I am connected with my car...
and an other question: is there some sort of priority setting for routines?

You don't have the battery settings to put Waze to sleep immediately or to not allow background running right?
Nice try, not helpful:
I use Tasker for many tasks. Among them these:
- when Waze active and power on AC, turn on volume
- When both Waze stops while no AC power OR power stops while no active WAZE, turn off volume
This cannot be done with Bixby

indeed, Bixby is quite basic, I hope them will make it a Tasker competitor over the months.
Thanks. I completely disabled all Bixby (via ADB) and am using Tasker and bxActions
On my previous phones, when I'd use "ok google" or "hey google," it would make a kind of "badoop" sound or whatever. When I use the hotword with my pixel 5, however, it's pure silence. Is there any way to turn that sound back on?
I would also like to know.
