Turn phone off. Pop out SIM and re-enter it and power on your phone. If that doesn't work then check your APN and if everything seems fine but still get an error, try factory reset
Using on an XT1097 no problem. Boot loader unlocked, pure 5.0 flashed, then ota applied, then reflashed my proper modem.
Modem has an unnexpected contents
Hi, I have the xt1097 variation transformed into the xt1095 one.
I tried to flash this OTA from stock recovery and Sideload, nothing worked for me.
I had the same error every time: "The modem/image/ "xx" has unnexpected contents
How can I fix that? Can I flash these with adb or something?
Sorry for my bad English.

You have to flash the xt1095 modem, install the OTA and then flash back your original XT1097 modem.
A hot favourite question for every user -
How is the battery life on 5.1 as compared to 5.0? The changelogs stated a fix for wakelocks. Is that really true?

Anyone have the modem files of the xt1095? I only have my backups (xt1097) thanks a lot.
Has anyone tried a sdcard reader with the soak? Specifically a Meenova reader. I'm wondering if mounting an Sdcard reader works again.

Bootstack is a bunch of files deep inside the phone. They are responsible for turning device ON and OFF, having SIM card support or download mode for flashing .kdz systems.
If you want to use stock KitKat or any customROM (KK or L) you need KitKat bootstack.
If you want to use stock Lollipop you need Lollipop bootstack.
Hi,
At the moment I'm running stock lollipop on a d405N. The Phone is also rooted, and i've unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP 2.8.6.0.
After flashing your KK bootstack, can I immediately flash a custom Lollipop rom and Gapps, and if so will my waveband work?????

Yes. That's exactly for what bootstacks are made for.
If you will have any problems after using those files, let me know.
Also I would appreciate information if it worked so I could mark it as stable.

Thanks for your quick reply,
I see i made an error, it should be baseband not waveband
A few more questions though, before flashing your bootstack should I do a clean wipe?
Also, captivate king says: quote: Flash this after flashing my ROM, and you should be good to go, does the order in which I flash matter or not????
Thanks in advance,

I figured out that you meant baseband
It's not necessary to do a wipe. Changing bootstack does not affect /system, /data and /cache partitions, but if you'll have problems with your customROM you should of course start with a wipe.
There is no order in which you should flash your bootstack and ROM. I firstly flashed bootstack (while being on stock Lollipop) and restarted my phone to see if it worked. I had no SIM support so I knew that my flash was successful. Then I flashed CM.
One more important thing is that you cannot restart you phone if flashing bootstack fail. Also it's recommended to flash bootstack before you boot your customROM for the first time to eliminate any possible bugs caused by wrong baseband file.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask them.

Hi again,
both bootstacks for D405N worked for me, no more problems with baseband and wifi, :good:so thanks again.
I was just wondering, why all the files in the bootstack? Wouldn't just changing the modem be sufficient? I know i'm showing my ignorance, but just when I think I've figured things out, I get back to square one

It's for compatibility reasons. To make sure that everything is working fine I changed all files. It's less secure but more effective.
Hi Xemidra and everyone else.
I have used this for about 12-14 times now, going from stock LP to custom ROM and back, and as far as I Know it's working without any problems.
It's a great timesaver, but wouldn't it be better that ROMs have LP as a base instead of KK, so that using bootstacks or other or reflashing KK wouldn't be needed?
Is it something that a ROM chef could do?? Or is this a CM thing???
Another thought, the modem file used. I've read somewhere that its not just the variant, but that different regions, countries etc. can have different (optimal) modem files, ie what would work great for me in Holland, might be unacceptable for someone in say Brazil??? Anybody know more about this??? I've tried searching for this article again, but couldn't find it. I use google, anybody know a better search engine for these type of querries?

Yes, it would be. You need to contact you ROM developer about this. I can't do anything about that.
Which bootstacks did you use ?

Maybe. I haven't head anything about that. No one complaint about quality of calls etc. I believe that different bootstacks for different variants are enough. Countrys from which I use the .kdz file to create bootstack are random.

Hi,
Am on a d405N myself, but I would stick to the same version aboot as your firmware: D410 v20a fw >>>> D410_v20a_patched_aboot. Stick with what works.
I wouldn't use just any aboot version. It might work, but why take the chance?
If you can't find the D410_v20a_patched_aboot, consider upgrading your fw to v20b first. Firmware is a bit easier to find.
It would be even better to flash a d410 v10 kdz, aand use a d410 v10 aboot. This way you wouldn't have to worry about using bootstacks.
Hope this helps, and stop spamming.

Your phone will from now present itself as D405n.
Because you seem like a nice guy I made a bootstack especially for you and you variant (D400hn).
It's not tested and it may be faulty. If you want to go ahead and download it. From what I read your variant has an unlocked bootloader so I included the stock one.

Well bad news... couldn't wait to get home and flashed it already dear @Xemidra, as soon as boot starts i get a nasty error that says Error: Boot certification verify, secure booting error. Cause: boot certification verify (and about 6 times de number "520")... And it turns off automatically three seconds after showing that screen, if I try Vol Down + Power, release and push the same combination again (as trying to get in Recovery Mode, TWRP in my case) the numbers changed to a 4 digit number (something like 5340 or so), tried three more times to enter recovery mode and I get the factory reset confirmation but as soon as I accept on YES the phone turns off completely and won't turn back or respond (unless I take the battery off and put it back on)
Any ideas on how to come back to life? KDZ? I had a lot of issues with KDZ before, couldn't get the LG software to recognize my phone at all
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Try to use LG Mobile Support Tool ? It always worked for me. Make sure you really have all the drivers installed.
It will flash the original .kdz meant for your phone.
Sorry for all the trouble I guess that the bootloader was locked ? or it needed to be unlocked using oem-unlocked feature.
Hi !
I have a big trouble with my Moto X since I bricked it after trying to update the OS.
I was on LP 5.0 and I saw somewhere that an update was available so I searched for that and launched the update.
The problem was I didn't know that it's dangerous to do so with a rooted phone...
So, now, my Moto X is staying on the "splash screen" and if I force the power off, the Moto X restarts... and stays on the splash screen, again...
Is someone can help me to unbricked my phone ?
Thank you very much for your help :highfive:
A+
Edit : for information, it's a French Moto X 2014 (so I think it's a XT1052)

Yes, but I don't remember if I update the bootloader.
The choices I have are :
- Normal powerup
- Recovery
- Factory
- Barcodes
- BP Tools
- QCOM
Thank you for your help
You're not bricked then. I don't know what the recovery instructions are for the French model. Do they have factory images on the support page?
You can volume up on recovery to get into recovery to see options about clear cache and factory reset. Those might help, but I doubt it. I would try.
If you care about your data you can adb pull in recovery to get stuff off your sdcard before you factory reset.

You should search for it online and post in the Motorola forums that their OTA messed up your system and ask them for the files. And email and chat and ask them that way too.

Put your phone in bootloader mode, connect to your computer and start Motorola Device Manager to see if MDM can repair your phone.
Go into recovery (volume up to select). Try a factory reset and clear the cache first. Attempt to reboot.
Then follow JulesJam advice and try MDM
In the bootloader, the bar code option will tell you your phone version to see if you have the XT1092 (volume up to select)
If that doesn't work, you'll have to go to the link I gave you and flash the 1092 images.

I don't think that is how it works outside the US. I think they have to send it to service centers where they decide whether or not it is a warranty issue and if you have rooted or unlocked the bootloader, they refuse the warranty service. At least that is how it is in Brazil.
AFAIK, only the Pure Edition maintains its warranty if you unlock and root.
I know with my XT1096, the qe is now 1/1 after MoFo so I worry that I couldn't get warranty services for it. Good thing I have MotoCare and if I end up with a problem, I am just dropping it in a bucket of water so that it can't be turned on again and paying the $39 deductible.
I didn't say it was on warranty. That's why it should be the last option. I imagine Motorola owns the service centers so you would still be sending it to Motorola.
I wouldn't worry too much about flashing those images. It should work if nothing else does. I think there's also another forum about how to convert the 1092 to a 1095. You can do that if you really want the 5.1 right away. You have to be mindful of the radios though.

Obviously
Let me tell you first that it isn't bricked yet, This thing is happening only because you tried to update your device with a custom recovery, to solve the issue you have to go on stock recovery and on the stock Rom as well. That's it and it will work again..
But keep in mind never downgrade, i mean don't flash a lower Rom than what you are on right now otherwise it may surely result in a Bricked Phone:what:

The problems are when you try to downgrade the bootloader and/or partition table or when you downgrade after upgrading and then take an OTA.
Thanks to everyone !
I think that I will try to flash the image because using the MDM doesn't fix anything. But it was written that my current version is :"22.121.1.victara_oraeu.oraeuall.en.eu".
Furthemore, I had this problem when I was trying to install an update. Do you think it's a downgrade if I flash the available version of system.img ? And consequently I risk a real brick ?
Edit : an other question : on the tutorial that explain how to flash a img, it's written that we need to use "Motorola fastboot utility " and not the Android fastboot utility. I installed the sdk android and the MDM program, but the sole fastboot program a have is the android one. Do you know where I can find the Motorola fastboot utility ?
Thanks again )

Hello everybody,
I have a Moto G xt1072, 2014 I suppose. I can't use it since I made a factory reset. Before I had deleted the system app which launches at the very start and configures the language, and other user preferences.
I think the most easy way is to copy and paste that app, however I do not know to do it.
I can't install a ROM, because first I do not know how to do it, second the bootloader is locked, thirdly I do not dare to go there without hesitation.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
What happens if you erase the Data Partition in the Stock Recovery??
And don't wonder, the Moto G2 hangs since Android 6.0 in the Recovery when the Cache is erasing you can easy reboot after 1 minute.

Could you please @zman01 give me a guidance? The fact is that I am not very skillful in this kind of troubles. In fact, I think the fastboot works when the device is unlocked, isn't it? My device is still locked... But really, if this is not as I think, tell me what to do, give me a useful link for beginners... please.
@inFiniTyz_Z could you lead me to a page where I could follow the instructions? Your solution seems very attractive to me. 1 minute : ) It would be great.

What happens if you erase the Data Partition in the Stock Recovery??
And don't wonder, the Moto G2 hangs since Android 6.0 in the Recovery when the Cache is erasing you can easy reboot after 1 minute.

Hello,
On which android you were before you deleted the system app? Was it stock rom or custom rom? If it was a rooted stock rom I think you should flash the same stock rom via fastboot, if it was CM it's enough the flash the same CM zip from TWRP.

If this won't work and you know how to use Fastboot you enter the command: fastboot erase userdata

If you don't care about the Bootloader you can do this. But this is a little bit tricky, for OTA Updates I had to go on the first installed factory Android(4.4.4) and then do all Upgrades, but please do this not.
Since Marshmallow is released, everyone is going to brick their devices if they downgrade and then upgrade
And this was my failure too, I had to buy mainboard
Maybe you can do this, but you have to omit two commands(the Bootloader Flash Commands)
I am now again on CM 13, but I had done a Full Backup with the stock Recovery from Motorola. But this is the "Retail DE" Version for me.
Regards
Hey guys I just got an 84 MB update from T-MOBILE, but for some reason when my phone was updating there was an error, and my phone now only boots into recovery mode(the "No Command" screen). Does anyone know where I can find any of the update files so I could try to update through ADB? If not, then my only is to unlock the bootloader and install a Custom ROM, but I wanted to know if I could still use my mobile service (T-MOBILE) if after installing a Custom ROM? Any advice is appreciated!
What phone model?
If it's an L90, you should and you're still able to either download mode, you can flash stock kdz ROM, root, unload bootloader, flash custom recovery then any custom ROM you want.
just wipe all partitions and put a stock lollipop rom but a flashable zip file is needed and put it on a sd card and flash it and there you go you have a working phone in just a minutes

Hello, I too have this issue. However I do not have a computer... Is there any way to fix it via an sd card? If there is, please link. I'm desperate for help, I'm sick of dealing with cheap phones since it stopped working...

I also do not care about the data on it, I merely want it working. After all, I've already factory reset it in hopes of fixing it, no luck
hey guys I was able to get the modem pulled from a moto z2 that has the ocx27.1 update.. if you run this flash all it will reinstall ocx27 with the latest modem allowing you to once again use your phone.
Please note that this will wipe your phone
Also note that your baseband will stay empty untill your phone fully boots up into android

Is SPRINT available? my phone is oreo,OTA loses IMEI after March security update...
Back on update path
Any T-mobile guys figure out how to get updates to install after flashing this, I tried flashing another firmware after this and lost baseband again.
Edit: I ended up flashing the XT1789-04_NASH_TMO_C_8.0.0_OCX27.109-36_subsidy-TMO_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml with the OreoFlashAllUtilities then I edited a FlashAll.bat and used it to flash NASH_TMO_C_OCX27.109-51_subsidy-TMO_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml. rebooted and it started updating to the latest update and made it through 100%.

How did you edited FlashAll.bat?
Is this any different than using the frankin update that combit both sprint and tmobile firmware?
Mine atm show
Android 8.0
Current version: ocxs27.1.3
Security patch level may 1 2018
Kindly send me the flashing procedure for this rom
Not working on me. Still no sim, no wifi, no IMEI.
I'm on tmo variant. Also, don't we need modem.img? Why the flashall.bat don't include it? I checked. Anyway, I edited and include it: still not working.
P.s.should I use a particular flashall ?

@elijahaf97, is it possible to re-upload the file?
Following the G drive link, it tells me it was moved to the trash bin.
Thanks.
