I'm out of ideas here, looking for help.
Lately I have noticed that I was not getting a card for my work location as I usually do.
After digging into customize on my Google now settings I see that there is only Home listed.
I have work set up on my Google maps, and my places so that's not the issue.
I have wiped data and reinstalled the latest updates on both apps but to no avail, still no work location listed.
Any help would be appreciated

Have you been going to work?
I noticed if I don't work for a few days, it doesn't show up all the time.
Try GPSing to it, that should help as well.

Yes, work doubles 5 days a week. I figured it out after tons of Web searches.
I had to turn off Google now cards, then delete preferences, wait 5 min.. Then turn cards on, delete preference again then bam.. Work was back.
So weird
i am having the same problem, since a week or so Work is simply gone from places in google now. It shows no traffic cards, only for home.
Places are set correctly in Maps, where they have always been. Disabling Google Now and deleting preferences as suggested, does not fix it for me.
Any ideas? (Nexus 6 with 5.1)

Try logging out of Google, then wiping data in the Google app. Then do that over again (turn off cards, delete preference, then sign back into your account) worked several times

Well of your using the Google now launcher it may.. I'm using Nova prime.
You can just back up the app in titanium backup and of it does wipe your setup, then just restore app data only.

Thanks man, that actually worked. As soon as i deleted Google App data, work place was back. Also all home screens were gone. Then I then restored all the data, home screens were back, work place was still there!
That's awesome man. Glad I could help

Hi,
I don't know exactly how it happens, but for some reasons, a lot of the options in the "Share via" action in the stock Gallery app are missing, like e-mail, facebook, twitter.
Attached a screenshot, there are only two options left, those ones that i don't use.

Anyone has any idea why and how to fix it?
Thanks!
Update: Just checked with other applications, e.g. ASTRO (the file manager), when I use the "Send" action, the list has everything in there (Email, bluetooth, facebook, twitter, to name a few).
+ 1 i've missed several options too

No. I thought that isn't possible unless it's rooted?
you need to press the menu-key first
I have just flashed stock rom LC1 and there are 5 options each
Send via Bluetooth, Email, Gmail, Messaging, WiFi
Share via AllShare, Google+, Picasa, SMemo, Social Hub

That's what we meant. I only have two options in that drop down (or should I say drop up).
Is swear I remember seeing a long long list there before, somehow a lot of them disappeared.

For me, now "Send via" has only Bluetooh and Wi-Fi.

I have a feeling reflashing the stock rom will fix it. Although there is no stock rom available for download yet for my verson (being N7000BDULB2/N7000BDULB3, Vodafone Australia)
Might try factory reset later.
What I'm scared of though is I don't really want to a reset or reflash everytime when this happens.
And we still don't know how this bug happens yet, but it was good to know I was not the only one.
nm
Has anyone found a solution to this?
My note is still working fine but my s2 4g only has bluetooth and wifi as send options. Share va only gives me Picasa and all share.
No solution yet.
FWIW, I finally ended up factory resetting the phone, even formatting all storage (USB and SD), and the result is still the same.

Do you have any apps that might serve as the sharing app?
For example, you claim you only have 2 entries in the share via menu, maybe the missing applications were removed via titanium backup or the custom rom author of the rom you are using?
Install whatsapp, and try to share image from Gallery, does whatsapp appear there?

Use quickpic from the market. I have been using it for my gallery app on my past 3 phones. Never even open the stock gallery app anymore as quickpic is so much better.

After factory reset, I installed facebook and twitter, but still, share via only had two entries.
This is all done manually, not titanium (and this is non rooted stock ROM)
I now have Whatapps installed too, the same.

Found a workaround (not fixing).
Instead of viewing the one photo, go to the where it shows all the thumbnails of the folder. Then tap and hold a photo (or press the menu touch button).
This will go into the multi selection mode. You can select a photo, then select "More", then "Share via". With this it a will bring up a almost full screen list, which has all the share options that has been missing from the other share via popup.

I've been using jailbroken iOS for the past 4 years so this is my first Android device.
The first two weeks or so of having the device it was great but the past couple of days I get the alert "Unfortunately, Messages has stopped." when I try to open the messages app. The only way to get it working again is to reboot the phone.
I've tried clearing the data and caches for messgaes but it didn't work. Is this a common problem with an easy fix on Android devices?
Note: phone is completely stock.
Thanks for any help...

Maybe you could try using ChompSMS or GoSMS to see if the problem is still there ?
If it doesn't work, then I'm afraid you'll have to do a factory reset
Factory reset looks like ur only way if you've cleared data for messaging. If it happens after that then I'd be returning for warranty as it's most likely hardware issue.

No this isn't a hardware issue. Messaging doesn't talk to any hardware drivers directly just factory reset it. Seems to me that you have a corrupt sqlite database on your phone. I'm not sure but maybe try clearing data first of the phone app.

Note this post may help, liiks like a CSC issue.

I also had tihs issue when I used Titanium backup to Freeze the system app called "BadgeProvider". After unfeezing, messaging worked OK. However you mention you have a stock ROM so this is unlikely to be your issue.
As mentioned by someone else, when I used stock SMS it errored all the time. using GoSMS or Handcent worked fine.

:laugh:That was a long time ago, those days are long gone..
So a few of you know that I can't stand how Google has tried to have us use their services by removing and or tying a lot of their built in apps with Google+. So, I have found a few great replacement apps and have pretty much made them look like stock applications.
I took some screenshots as you can see below as to how they look when installed and modified to my liking. (Many of them have themes and QuickPic is also working on themes for their app as well.)
Instead of Google Photos I use QuickPic. It's basically like the old gallery app but allows to you to move files. (You can also sync photos if you wish to do so.)

Instead of Google Play Music I use Shuttle+ Music Player. (For one thing, when you open the app you can have it go right to YOUR music on the device and even default to what tab you choose. No taking 3 or 4 steps just to get to your music or playlists.)
Instead of Messenger I use QKSMS+ (It just looks better, you can edit the themes and it has Quick Reply. And it looks very much like the stock Google app.)
And of course you can edit the app icon with your favorite Launcher.
What are some apps you guys and gals use? Do you use third party apps or keep everything Google?
I use the Sony Ericsson album app
Slide left or right to show more or less pics at once.

+1 for QuickPic
I like evolvesms instead of googles messenger. It has quick pop up reply, options to wake when receiving new messages, and auto download pics.

+1 for QuickPic, and I just use Hangouts for messenger. Root Explorer for file manager and VLC for player
+1 Quickpic, Textra for messaging and Neutron for music player.

So if you choose to use some of these apps instead of Google's apps, and you're not rooted, can you remove the corresponding Google app (i.e., Google Play, Google Photos, Google Messenger, etc.)?

Yeah, I love Nova. Just wish they would update the Froyo based home screen editing style and make it at least like Kit Kat. Get rid of widgets in the app drawer, etc..

You can disable each app you dont want in Android settings, and it will disappear from the app drawer. But be warned, disabling the wrong Gapp could make the phone unstable.
Finally , downloaded, feels snappier
Did you update through Kies or OTA?
I upgraded both of my Verizon Tab S tablets a couple days ago.
Some observations on my experience with the update:
All the applications that had been "moved" to the SD card failed to operate. Even after moving the app back to the device they would crash on loading. The only fix was to uninstall and reinstall them. Not a big deal, but it was kind of a hassle to do that across all user profiles. Took several hours to get straightened out.
Microsoft OneDrive will no longer work for any user on the the tablet other than the one that installed it. All the other users get an "incompatible version" message upon launching. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix this. Microsoft claims to know about the issue.
The Tivo app no longer loads. Just crashes on launch. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix this. From what I've read, even doing a factory-data-reset will not restore this app's functionality. Considering that this was one of the motivations for buying the Tab S in the first place, and the fact that Tivo probably won't fix this for months, it is a little disappointing.
Other than those items, most everything else went fairly well.
I updated via Ota
A way to root this lollipop would be great.

Created a zip based entirely on spasticdroid's previous zip for Lollipop Google Dialer. Just updated the Dialer and Contact apks inside to the latest versions for Marsallow and also updated the frameworks file for them to function properly.
Same as his; you can either disable or completely delete the stock Dialer or Contacts or, if you prefer, you can have two different apps for Phone and Contacts.
[Important]After flashing, you must go into "settings > apps > gear icon (top right) > Default Apps > Phone App" and set the new Google Dialer as the default instead of previous Moto Dialer or the inCallUi will not function at all!![\Important]
Download links in the attachment. All credit to spasticdroid for doing the heavy lifting I just moved some files around.
Confirmed working on both odexed and deodexed based roms! If you experience any problems make sure all permissions are turned on and and clear the apps data and cache

You have to give the phone app permission to access location. Even though I keep my location on, I had to manually give it permission. It's one of the nuances of the Marshmallow app permissions.

Stock rooted MM here. Nearby places working for me.
Installed the zip, rebooted, renamed contacts and dials to .sav (just in case), rebooted again.
Was asked about permissions for both apps including "location based searching"
Changed the default app for phone to "phone"
Shows nearby places when I type "Pizza" in the search bar in the phone app.
Everything looks good except Im getting a message about voice mail stopping. I have Verizon Visual Voicemail app installed, so its not clear what is going on there.
Im running TruPureXMM 2.1
EDIT: Tried VVM and had to grant a bunch of permissions which should address the voice mail stopping message. How is VVM integrated into the dialer?
Edit
Cleared cache and data in the app and it now works.... Go figure. ?
*edit* this is a useless post my bad
Looks like this breaks the SafteyNet for Android Pay after I flash it.
Thanks, worked flawlessly.
Just an update to my previous reply.
Instead of flashing the zip, I moved the files into the proper folders under /system with RootExplorer. Also manually set the permissions on each file. After a reboot the Phone and Contacts app shows up in the app drawer, and I can proceed with disabling the moto equivalents. Everything seems to be working (including In-call UI), and SafteyNet still passes it's checks, so Android Pay should continue to work.
Not using AndroidPay so I can't speak for that, but I can say that after setting this as Default for Phone, clearing Data / Cache for both Contacts and Phone apps and setting permissions, this works flawlessly! Thank you so much!!!
