The word is that at&t is dumping softcard for google wallet. Anyone that has a softcard account will have it shut down. So the ? is are they going to float an update to us to remove the softcard and give full function to google wallet?
Meh I would assume it will just "disappear" when ever the 5.0 update is pushed. It is possible to disable it now at least. And just to be clear. I would not hold my breath on that update being soon lol

Heh. Not only was it soon, it was just a couple hours after, which I find mildly funny. Though to be fair it would still be too long to hold your breath
Lol the humor is not lost on me and to let you know soft card is uninstallable now
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
No you won't.
Fine....We can get rid of softcard. But can't use Google Wallet because are phones aren't compatible with it. That just sucks.
Does anyone know why our phones aren't compatible with Google wallet? I have spoke to Google and Samsung and neither seem to know why. The Note 4 and 2 both will work with "tap and pay" but the 3 will not. Doesn't make any sense to me. Even after updating to Lollipop I was hoping that would have patched or fixed the issue. Nope... still not compatible.

Pulled this from my Nexus 7. Works on my Nexus S running latest Jellybro Kang. Thought I would share as this version lets you use more than just a Citi or prepaid card.
Version R1.5-R75-v6.apk
I'm not on the nexus s, but do you know if this will work without a data connection? I know the n7 doesn't need one but my gnex does. I'm wondering if you need data for this version to work on a phone.

I keep getting a error when opening the app. Says "movie network or phone not supported" how do I fix this? I'm using adamg jellybelly!

Maybe I should give it a try.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled. No issues here. Also, I believe it does need data as payment info is stored in the cloud instead of the device itself.

Hmmm... I wonder why it works for the nexus 7 but wouldn't work like that for a phone. I tried to use wallet on my phone in a store the other day and in the middle of authentication I lost signal and had to start over. I may test pulling the wallet apk off my n7 and try installing on my phone to see if it works the same. Thanks guys!

How about networks other than Sprint and AT&T?
Does anybody know if this works on T-Mobile or other "blocked" networks?
Currently I am running the version patched by MoDaCo (1.1-R63-v12 See this thread) on my T-Mobile Nexus S. Unfortunately, this revision doesn't implement the new functionality to use cards other than Mastercard.
Does anyone know if the new apk still contains the device and carrier checks? If so then us T-Mobile people will still need a patched version.
yes it does contain the device/carrier checks... though you could always just try... instead of waiting for an answer... you would have known 5 minutes ago...
I just successfully installed it on my rooted T-Mobile Nexus S. Everything seems to be working fine. That Unsupported Device banner at the top is still there though. I haven't gone out to test it at a payment terminal yet.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I've been trying tutorials and tricks to get Wallet to install, to no avail, for >hour. This worked perfectly. Can't wait to try it with my Visa card now that they're supported.
Just tried it on the aokp kang on my i9020t on T-Mobile and got insecure element. Had to flash my nandroid that had 1.1 r41v8 installed which is really old unfortunately. Would love to get a newer version working...
Thanks for this. Installed fine and got my cards added on Kali's CM10... Now just have to try it out and see if I can still make purchases.

Unfortunately Google wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile Carrier
Anyone know how to get past this?
Installed on my VZN Nexus with the little banner due to I'm rooted and it seems to work just fine. Let me register, etc. I just have not tried it out at a store yet. We don't have to many places that accept it (or I just don't but a few).
Oh, thanks for the updated .apk Not sure why Verizon is such a [email protected]#$ and not let us use it.

Do unrooted people that are side loading the app still get the message because it wasent installed directly from the app store? I'm scared to do it with the message I would hate to be robbed and have Google tell me eh your rooted.

Leveraging the same Absolute persistence technology used in LoJack® for Laptops, owners of Samsung GALAXY S4 will soon have an Android security software to recover their stolen smartphone. If stolen, only the Absolute Theft Recovery Team can help locate and return your smartphone. In addition, if the smartphone is lost, you can remotely delete files or lock the smartphone so nobody can access your stuff.

I could have really used this in June...I was on a cruise and my phone got stolen in a matter of minutes
Was watching a comedy show in the auditorium, left phone on chair to go get some napkins and boom...gone!!! i had lookout, but it doesn't do any good if there is no data in the open seas
At least with this, if they can't track it down, they will replace it

Also, would this work if we are rooted stock/rooted custom?
or do we have to be unrooted Stock?
Its probably for enterprise phones like businesses and corps. They are the ones who would pay for security. Apple has a new feature that to use the phone you must sign into your apple cloud account and it stores your phone data and such there. If someone pops out your sim and tries to use it they have to sign in and if would fail because that device registers with your account only. A FREE feature btw. Samsung google and apple had a meeting in nyc about theft and possibly a kill switch on phones.
The only downside is the kill switch will be controled by the carrier so they can shut you down if they wanted to. #NSA

it's also for personal users
I called them today and they said it won't work if you are rooted and they said they have some "persistant" thing that makes it install OTA. but if someone roots your phone and installs a custom rom it won't work....but i guess the benefit of this is that if it does get stolen, they will give you 90% of the value, which at this point is $600
So when I woke up this morning my phone said it had downloaded an update. seeing as I am rooted it wont install and I refuse to unroot just to update for fear of locking my self out of any possible bootloader exploits to be found in the future.
Does anyone know what this update is? I was suprised that there wasnt anything on here about it yet.

I got the update too...I am not sure if it was the first update or something newer. I was rooted so it did not take last time so I was wondering if it was new update. I am going to take update now. I restored to stock and it just came through again. It's safe because you can always flashback to previous version. Well it has been that way so far with G2. For the G2 to keep custom recovery you have to use a mix of different partitions from 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 to run stock 4.4.2.
D95010n is the update for me. I guess it is the same as first unless you need to have 10n before next update. Checking for update did not show anything newer for me.
Edit...When I flashed back to stock to get update I signed up for Isis and got $50 bucks on it. So I ran to CVS and got what I needed then I rooted and removed Isis

Because I prefer Google wallet and Isis is playing dirty business tricks to block Google wallet in KitKat. On G2 Google wallet does not even show up in tap to pay options since carriers are blocking that function to create monopoly for Isis.

Does it based on the sim in your phone. Yay for carriers who are so deluded they think people actually want to be able to download their crap ware.

What he said.
I don't know why people always complain about bloat ware with their carrier on the nexus. We should blame the bloatware toward Google. Google bundles all this unnecessary apps for their own interest such as Google+, Google books, Google Earth, Google fit, etc.
Those Google Apps are bloat ware.

this isnt new...even on past Nexus and GPe devices....the phone know what network you are on.
I am just curious as to know why this is a big deal? I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out. You can argue that this is a nexus blah blah blah... but in the end the Nexus 6 is just a micro tablet with out service. On the flip side by clicking the link I remembered I didn't have Pandora installed

Checkend and pulled down an OTA update this morning that carries baseband version G925VVRU4BOG9. Among the boiler plate improvement info the install notes indicate in includes changes to support Samsung Pay. The OTA took what seemed to be about 5 seconds to download over wireless - must be small.

It means you'll have to download the Samsung Pay app from the play store once it's available there. Read somewhere else that that it was supposed to be available sometime today.
