[Q] Pebble and Ascend P7 - Huawei Ascend P7

Hi,
I bought this phone a week ago and I like it very much, but I am having a little trouble with it about the way it communicates with Pebble.
I have B609 update and the problem is that when the screen is turned off there is no background connection with pebble apps. All the notifications pushed from the phone work fine, but when pebble calendar app or weather watchface wants to refresh data from a sleeping phone - it doesn´t work. Pebble app is allowed for location services and in the phone manager it is set to be prevented from getting killed in the background or when the screen is off.
Do you guys have any experience with this kind of trouble and how to solve it?
Thanks a lot for any help.

[Q] Gmail push notifications

Hi guys,
I recently changed from a nexus 5 and the phone is super nice. Of course, hardware > software.
In any case, I noticed a starting a few days back that I do not get gmail push notifications as they come.
Meaning, I have to pull to refresh. This also means that I do not get new gmail notifications.
I did some fiddling around with the settings and it wasn't set to notify me for all new mail but even with this on, I don't get timely notifications.
I did further research and noticed that I get my notifications on wifi but not on regular data.
-edit-
I tried it again and now both wifi and data are not reliable. I'm on a hotel wifi connection so I expected this but I wasn't expecting this from the data.
Has anyone heard of the S6edge having possible radio/modem issues? If so, I'm going to go exchange this device for another s6e.
I'm really hoping that it doesn't come to that and that it's a software issue more than hardware.
The thing is, I don't know if anyone knows but the same thing above happens to me with an application called kakao talk (a korean version of whatsapp)
I don't get push notifications and when I open the app I get bombarded with messages.
After opening the app and then closing it, I get updates like normal.
I can't figure this out. Do any one of you have any suggestions?
I don't get notifications for gmail or inbox either, everything is turned on. It was bothering me before but I got used to it . I use kakao religiously but with notifications off..I'll tick then on and see

I couldn't wait and I just factory reset my phone.
Gmail notifications come as they should without me having to manually refresh the feed.
Yesterday morning I was on wifi and kakao notifications came in time as well, but I forgot to try this on the network and slept after turning it off last night.
This morning I woke up a little earlier than my alarm and noticed no notifications thinking I didn't get any.
However as soon as my alarm rang and I turned it off, notifications started coming.
Am I going insane? The device seems to go into some network sleep mode and will only start connecting once it's literally awaken.
I'm trying to rule out app bug, software bug, but most importantly, if this is a hardware bug.
If this is a hardware issue, I only have about a week to exchange it.

Disable and uninstall (updates) google play services. Later on you can re-update google play services. I know this is same as doing a factory reset but it is worth a try. I did the same to fix mine.

You are not losing your mind, this is a software bug and others have this issue as well especially with google related products.

Weather forcast notification randomly started, can't get rid of

I've had my S6 edge for almost a month now and all of a sudden a few days ago it started popping up with a notification every morning from the weather app with the forecast which is driving me crazy, I checked the settings inside the app when I click on it from the notification and every thing is turned off yet it still keeps coming up, and annoying you can't disable it in the apps management or even turn off notifications from it, does anyone know how to get it stop coming up?
EDIT: never mind, just saw we finally have a working root for the phone so rooted it and removed the app, so hopefully problem solved
If its comming from the Samsung weather app. Disable (or remove if your rooted) weather deamon

Note SM-N920C No notifications until I wake screen. Tried Heartbeat fix. Doesn't fix!

This has been happening randomly for a few months. I can go days when notifications are fine and they come through on my phone immediately. Then, for no reason, there are days when no notification show at all until I wake my phone.
They're clearly being blocked and my phone only attempts to pull them in when I wake it. Like a doze setting
It all started around the time Marshmallow 6.01 landed on the phone.
All battery saving optimisation settings are off.
All notifications are set to on.
I have tried EVERY app that I can find to set the Google heartbeat interval to a lower time. None solve the issue.
Factory reset doesn't fix it.
I have (always on) fiber internet so idle timeout settings on the router cannot be to blame for killing the Google heartbeat check.
I have tried it on mobile data only and it is the same
Other people online have had the same issues on other Samsung devices but I can't find anyone suffering from this on the Note 5.
Could it be an issue (somehow) with my Google account, since all notifications have to be pushed through this?
Worried that if I get a new phone I'll still have the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
are u using greenify??? what android u have 6.0.1 ??? did u try on smart manager / battery / to not optimize app u want get notification????
N920c/64g/cc n7 port v3/ arise sound/ doulby /xposed greenify+powernap+amplify
Not got Greenify.
Not enabled any power saving at all.
All apps are set to notify
Either the phone is blocking notifications randomly, or my Google account is.

Android stops sending Notifications to Pebble Watch after time.

I have a Pebble Classic smartwatch (I know, old, unsupported, and discontinued) and a Huawei Honor 6X. My Pebble watch is able to pair and receive notifications fine. After some time, it stops receiving notifications. Sometimes after 5 minutes or even an hour. It doesn't re-sync till I disconnect it via the Pebble app (or settings on the watch) and then reconnect it. After that, it begins the process over by staying in sync after some time then stops receiving notifications.
Also, a strange thing I notice is it syncs in the morning when I wake up just fine without having to do anything.
When it stops receiving notifications both devices say they're still paired.
I have tried forgetting the device and then reconnecting. I have checked that my Pebble app isn't in the lock-screen cleanup list for the Huawei management. The Pebble app has Permissions to notifications. I do have the persistent notification within the Pebble app enabled. This happened before the Pebble servers went down and even after switching to Rebble. I do have Google Wear OS installed. Should I try using GadgetBridge?
My brother has the exact same watch with his iOS device and it works flawlessly.
Phone: Huawei Honor 6x Android 7.0
Pebble: v3.12.3
Is there something happening with the phones Bluetooth connection? Is it the Android operating system putting the app into sleep or something. Is it going into power save mode or something? If rooting my phone will provide a fix I am willing to do so.

You can try to exclude the app from androids Power saving. Also gadgetbridge can be tested(I'm using it with my PTS).
I tried gadget bridge and that does the same thing. Also I have it removed from my power management, nothing. I downloaded an app that supposedly keeps the Bluetooth alive. I'll give that a go.
I found a workaround.
I installed an app called BluetoothKeepActive and that seemed to fix the problem. It seems that my presumption was correct. The Bluetooth is going into standby mode or power management mode or something.

Seems to be an kernel issue of your phone imo.

Background app refresh issues

I use Newton mail like I have on every other phone I have used for the last few years and have seen some issues since I got the Find X5 Pro. Initially I was getting no notifications through despite notifications being enabled and all background settings toggled on under settings, I'd have to open the app and when I did it would refresh and the emails would load. Then after a reinstal and restart it started to work.
Today it stopped working again out of the blue and when I checked settings the background refresh toggles had changed to off, I toggled them back on and emails started to come through again.
No idea if any other apps are affected, certainly no key ones are but I have not had issues like this since I used a Huawei.
Anybody else experiened this?
Hey, I've noticed the same issue with Gmail, and Kijiji app. Did you find a solution or work-around?
I toggled the settings back on and it seems ok again. Unsure why they turned off as for the original issue with no notifications even though background refresh was on I reinstalled the app and restarted phone.
