It actually is in your baseband version. I have MDM9625_104335.118.02.55.04R. That is the baseband from LRX22C.

So my baseband reads MDM9625_104335.118.02.035.03p so my modem ID is 03p? Seems kind of old - I just flashed latest Chroma (3/22) on T-Mobile

I'm running Chroma 5.0.2 final with the baseband mentioned above. Never seen your baseband number before and couldn't find anything about it.
Did you dirty flash Chroma 5.1 over a 5.0.2 version?

Didn't dirty flash - I did wipes... but when I got the phone it was on 5.0. So that's maybe where it came from. Is there any issue flashing just the 95R radio?
EDIT: SO I flashed a 95R zip and am now on baseband MDM9625_104335.118.02.035.95R with no issues at all so answered my own question. And thanks for all the help by those who answered.

People here are just not typing out the entire string, because they're lazy.

[Q] Baseband updated but not the build number

Hi,
Great site BTW, some very cool things happening here.
Yes I'm a noob and figured that Q + A would be the best place to post a question!
so, I've trawled throguh the site looking for the best answer to my question and have not found one.
I found a post by someone with the same problem, but without an answer.
http:// forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13522130&postcount=8
Basically, I downloaded Flashtool to update my baseband and build number.
My baseband is now 015, but my build is still 2.0.2.A.0.24.
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong??

The 2.0.2.A.0.24 is the build string of your ROM ...
Seems you're still running the genuine Sony Ericsson Android 2.0 update 2 ROM.
Last update ever released for the X8 was 2.1.1.C.0.0.
Baseband 015 just means that you updated the baseband (everything below the ROM ... kernel, loader, GSM/UMTS radio parts) to the latest version ever released by Sony Ericsson.
EDIT: In case you are not referring to the build string of the ROM but really to the build string of the baseband ...
Baseband 006 has a build string of 2.0.2.A.0.24 (came with ROM of the same build version)
Baseband 015 has a build string of 2.1.1.A.0.6 (came with ROM of the same build version)
So, if you are getting a build string version of 2.0.2.A.0.24 on the BASEBAND you are still on Baseband 006
Seems you're still running the genuine Sony Ericsson Android 2.0 update 2 ROM.

Yes, I'm still on genuine, but I have Android 2.1 Update 1.
Wanting to root, but I have read on here I need to update baseband and build first before doing so.
Wish I could get a screen shot to show you..
Looking under settings-->about phone I see
Baseband version is 015
Kernel version is 2.6.29
Build number 2.0.2.A.0.24
So do I have 2.1.1.A.0.6 if my Firmware version is 2.1 - update 1??

flash new baseband

hey
Im currently using apocalypse rom and its running pretty good on my ace.
I read a post saying that its better to install a different baseband (XXKPT)
im abit confused cause on my phone info now it says baseband: S5830NEKT2 and version 2.3.7
but the xxkpt is 2.3.6 ?
so shouldnt the 2.3.7 be a better baseband?
There is no need to change the baseband unless you are having any problems in the rom because of it.
The baseband change referred in the apocalypse thread is for changing the region of the firmware, not the version. You may use 2.3.7 for you region, but if there is any problem with the rom that a reflash or fresh Odin install is not solving, or due to app 2 sd scripts, then you should try a firmware from a different region, it has helped many people.
If the region(firmware's) you are going for has a different version then you have no choice but to downgrade.

thanks for the info. its much clearer now!
i did want to try a different baseband because of the app2sd bugs on the one i have.(with link2sd and amarullz)
It seems quite straightforward to flash another baseband with odin so might give it a go.
is there anyway to bkup the one i have now? or to find a download link? had a quick look on sammobile.com but didnt find the one i currently have(S5830NEKT2)
You can make a cwm backup, but i don't know if it backs up the baseband or not.
i mean if you restore this on another firmware then you will get this baseband back or not, i am not sure about that.

Just flash the cwm zip for baseband or also known as modem...it will only change the baseband then...but i don't see much need of doing so because it's seldom that baseband causes problems...

It is quite rare but its there with the apocalypse rom, somehow the rom +sdext scripts have different compatibility with different basebands.

Hi, my phone was stuck on bootloop so I used smartflash and I flashed this baseband 2012-0521-V20s-Baseband/LGP990AT-00-V20s-EUR-XX-MAY-21-2012+0_CP.fls
I then reinsalled the stock rom named BIN_LGP990AT-00-V20g-234-XX-OCT-27-2011-0
and the phone runs fine but I have no signal and I cant get it to come back. Here is my phone info
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband 1035.21_20120521
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Build number GRJ22
LGE version LGP990-V20g
Any suggestions?

Try some baseband with V20g in name, instead of V20s (different fw combatibility I suppose).
I am using these
LGP990AT-00-V20q-EUR-XX-JAN-24-2012+0_AP FW
LGP990AT-00-V20q-EUR-XX-JAN-24-2012+0_CP BB
BB is 1035.21_2011075
as it was the one the phone came with originally and works well with it. Beware that some FW/BB combination are not working well wor some phones. No pattern, it is individual.
check if your imei is not damaged... sometimes when flash a rom, it can to be damaged

Ok. I suggest you download the latest official firmware for your phone. The fw you got now must be pretty old. Around October last year.
This one is from Wed, 10 Jul 2013. I8190LUBAMG2_I8190LTCEAMG1_TCE.zip
Flash with Odin as PDA.

Im gonna try to flash the modem... i think the problem is that the stock rom is the one provided by the cell phone company and i assume it has some king of protection, and that's why no matter what modem i try to flash, baseband doesn't change.
BTW the roms in "samsung updates live" and "sammobile" for Mexico "ubamg2 tce" are the one's used by the cell phone company.
UPDATE: I flashed a moden.bin via odin, the baseband didn't change, i try to flash via CWM the modem you left, and the baseband changed for about 3 minutes "ubamg2", then it returned tu normal "ubalj7".
Ok, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
I'd try formatting mmcblk0p16 and flashing modem again as a last resort.

[Q] How to update modem baseband when using custom ROM?

Hi,
I'm using Paranoid Android 4.5 Alpha 2 and I wonder how to update modem baseband to latest version without losing my actual configuration and ROM.
Is it possible?
If so, can you tell me how and what do I need.
Thanks by advance

why do you want to flash baseband?
Because I have issues with phone calls.
So I would like to take advantage of the latest baseband that would maybe fix those.

it might be an operator issue/rom bug.
dont fiddle with the baseband
It's not an operator problem.
So I suppose the problem is from my side (phone).
I used to have a Nexus 4 and ROM and baseband are 2 different things that you can flash independently.
Are you sure it's not the same with Xperia Z?
I already saw some topics with titles like Baseband Generic US something. But I did not find any Generic FR at the latest version.

You can download the french firmware and just flash the baseband from flashtool
Edit: Why dont you try EU firmware
I found out one topic for generic FR latest firmware and I used your trick flashing only the baseband.
Thanks!
Now I will see with the time if it's making my phone work better.
