Hi guys!
i know the 101 error is a common problem after flashing ics roms on galaxy nexus.
yesterday i flashed a new ics rom (teamhacksung build 16 to 17), which went smoot as always at first.
after signing in to my gmail account, it automatically downloaded some of my previously installed apps (even so i didn't want it to).
anyway, that was the last download from the market so far. every time i try to install an or update an app, it says "error downloading ..... error -101".
i tried the suggested sollutions, signing out and back in, clearing cache, remove update, even flashed back to build 16.
so far nothing helped.
weird thing which is probably related to the problem:
when i go to https://play.google.com/store/account i got 2 devices there, both sgs i9000. i just own one.

I too am getting these same problems. I am using slim ICS 2.8 on my Bell i9000
i somehow managed to fix it for me.
i'm not sure if this is reproducible, but:
- i cleared the cache and uninstalled the update of the market app
- i logged in to another googlemail account, then switched to this one in the market properties.
- after switching back to my original gmail account everything worked as intended
I too had this error after i updated my ROM to the latest version. I managed to fix it but i'm not sure if it would work for you
-Delete Google Account
-Clear play store cache
-Enter Google Play
-Sign in with the Google Account

Android error 101
Hey got some updates about error 101. I have a rooted xperia play. First my encounter with this error started after downloading Brothers in Arms. In consistently gave me the error whenever I download any apps more than 24 hours,
tried logging to another gmail account, clearing cache, changing 3g to wife but nothing works. Then I realized that I've froze and uninstalled some bloatwares/pre-installed apps on my xperia, I have titanium back up (free ver) for unistalling and system cleaner for freezing apps. So I restored everything (not resetting to factory default), reboot my phone, then tried to download apps again, and it went back to normal, I was able to download apps again.
The only question here is which of the pre-installed apps that I blocked that cause the 101 error... Hope this helps, I'll try to see which app it is.

I don't really think that is the case. Cause I have a fresh instal and it gave me this error. Of course, there may be a chance that a file for corrupted while flashing though. And its probably google talk or something. That's one of them that manages the play store from what I remember.

Hope this solve the error.
1> Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync
2> Select Google account > Click menu >> Select Remove Google
3> Add your Google account again

In CM 10.1, after some reflashes with Cyanogen nightlies, google apps stopped working. By that I mean that whenever I try to install or update an APP, the app is stuck at downloading.
I did all the steps that I read on the internet like killing google play, google play services and google framework and clearing the data and cache and rebooting the phone....nothing.
And after I "force stop" theses services, error 495 is displayed.
Apart from me being annoyed with what I can get my hands on apks through the internet and installing them from adb, my phone is pretty isolated now.
Any ideas? Any workarounds. If Google play is so buggy, I might aswell just switch to another app store alltogether.
Also, If I reflash the stock rom 4.0.3(Yes I want to install the stock ICS because I think that it has no screen dimming when the phone is being used, right?), will this problem go away?, This would be helpful if somebody else has already tried this.

So Finally rooted my Xperia Z1 5.1.1. But the problem is that I uninstalled the Play Store to install the latest version as it was not auto updating. And it is not working properly. As soon as I click accept to install something, the play store crashes. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall but nothing worked out. Please suggest what should i do as soon as possible.
Try to install play store then force stop. Clear data and cache from settings and try again?
Thanks for the reply but still no good. I think that it might be with the apk that I've downloaded. So please can anyone suggest some other method and also give me a link to a trusted site for downloading play store.

Here are my Google Play Store and Play Services. If just installing doesn't work you could try to install it through an app like Lucky Patches. Hope it works .
Last night, something went wrong with my phone and google play services kept crashing. After numerous times of clearing cache and deleting the updates, I decided to install GApps through twrp. My firmware is 5.02 with Sense 6.0 and I flashed gapps-5.1-2015-05-23-24.zip. This because I clicked Lollipop (Android 5.0+) and could only choose from two versions of 5.1. The flashing went fine, I cleared cache and Dalvik and rebooted the phone. But play services still crashes! No google things work because of it, not even my playstore. Does anyone have an idea what I can try before I'm forced to go back to fabric?
So finally i got my Mate 20 PRO, and i am excited to try it for games. But i cannot download any apps from google playstore. My internet connection is stable and good. I wonder why i can't download any apps on google playstore. I tried clearing the cache of Playstore and play services. I also tried resetting the phone and nothing new happened. Can someone help me? Thanks.
What other applications have you got?
With my last phone the mate 9, I installed apkpure, then for a few days nothing would download or update. I couldn't even download a image from Google. I tried everything, then I thought I would uninstall recently added applications. As soon as I removed apkpure everything started running fine again.
