I'm root/soff. a new ota just came out that will fix my unusable phone. how do I take it if im root, do I have to fully unroot? or can I take it as is?

looks like it needs stock recovery to flash, it's not hboot format and twrp won't take it. will report back if I am able to do it

One of the benefits to being s-off is you don't have to take the OTA...you just flash the firmware and done.

i did that and then i was unable to take profile or prl updates :crying: it also didnt apear to have fixed the signal issue... i might not have waited enough... or it could have something to do with the unability to take prl and profile updates... anyhow ill try again from a diferent download see what happens
Did your baseband change? last four should be .0610.
If it did change then it's most likely a network issue.

Yes the baseband did change but the signal problem persists. i need to take the FULL ota to fix my phone (or install something else that will) regardless the radios alone aren't fixing the issue.
i tried flashing the rafios by themselves and it wouldnt update prl or profile; it also had the same signal issue. i tried the radios AND the new stock rom for it and same thing. i tried going back to stock and taking the ota and the ota wouldnt install.
Thoughs?
I'm the same root/s-off. I flash the h/k sound file did you find a way to install the latest ota update?
I cant figure out how to get the OTA either
I have S-Off im also rooted, and i have TWRP recovery, i can't get the zip to flash. I was thinking about doing a stock root recovery using the RUU, but then i thought if i do that, would i still be able to reroot using the same method? so my question is, how can i flash this zip and keep my root? or should do a stock recovery from the RUU and update and wait for another root? if any devs read this, i'd really like your help please and thank you. I currently have the stock rom with just root access and S-Off.no custom roms on here.
man.. i have the same problem bro.. smh.. hey man keep me posted if something comes up

You have to have stock recovery to take the update, which means you have to flash stock recovery first and then take the update, then repeat the rooting process.

you should at least have seen a green arrow circle and/or a red triangle with a "!" in the middle. if you saw the triangle that is recovery trying and failing to update. at this point if you press and releast volumeup+power it should bring up the text of what it did.

You need to go to http://SamMobile.com and download the official
stock firmware for Samsung N910T and odin flash it.
Good luck!
SamMobile's downloads will literally take me almost a day.. some threads on here claim they are official stock firmware but like I said.. it kept my custom ROM

It's not going to take you all day if you simply
create an account "free account" takes 1 minute.
Soon as you have an account the download link
will be different and it will be real fast.
The server for downloads are and will be totally
different if you have an account.
Good luck!
the only way you can download it is if you create an account.. which I have had one since the s4 but the download time is quite literally forever lol
they dont care about that
Oh gosh, I downloaded the firmware from Sammobile in like, an hour or so.
Just do it, better than getting an unofficial one from somewhere off the web.

Make sure you Factory Reset before or after you ODIN. I usually do it before ODIN to stock.
I'm also making a guide at the moment that will be posted in Development. Will be done in a few hours.

It will. Install all your apps then update it in the store.
The first S6 Edge roots are available from the repository: http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ !
Note that the stock kernel currently has an issue preventing the device from going into "deep sleep" if a custom recovery is flashed (which is what this does). A fix for this issue can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60383471&postcount=49. This fix will also work if you replace the recovery with for example TWRP.

Same issue here. I've tried all the "Odin" tricks.. different cables, different PCs, latest drivers, several reboots, different Odin versions, etc.... All the same, stuck on "NAND Write Start". Hoping for a fix soon.
Yes the sm-g925t is on the list
From looking at the other threads, specifically the non-edge S6 auto root thread, everyone is in the same boat. We just need to wait for Chainfire to update. Like an idiot, I accepted the out-of-the-box OTA although others are saying they are having the same issue without the OTA update.

mine is bricked. i tried to root and it wont get passed the first screen. cant even access recovery. i cant even get the phone to turn off
Damn I bricked mine too. Used Odin 3.10.6, got a successful flash but it won't get past the booting screen, won't shut off, can only really access Download Mode. Which I've tried using different suggestions but still failed to get it to boot up or put into recovery to complete the root process.

How did you get it to be successful flash? I tried ODIN 3.10.6 with the available CF-Auto_root and continue to get stuck at NANO WRITE! Of course i accepted the OTA right out of box also.
Wonder why we have different results of "same task"

I didn't actually take the OTA, because I wanted to be sure that I would be able to root the phone for sure without needing to wait too long for an update to the Auto Root Utility that would work with the newer version.

Whenever I used to try to update my phone from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4, my phone would say the installation was interrupted, and kies would say my firmware is up to date. At the time I didnt care much, but now that 5.0 is out, I want to figure this out. When I got my phone in September I flashed the original software to root, then reflashed 4.4.2. Since then I unrooted and restores my phone to try and resolve the problem, but neither have helped. Does anyone know a solution? If any more information is needed I can definitely provide it.

Last questions are how to go into stock recovery and once I do that its all normal again?
How to boot Samsung Galaxy S5 Recovery Mode:
Power off your device completely.
Boot recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power, all at the same time.
Release all buttons when the Galaxy S5 screen flickers and the main Recovery screen will appear.
Once I updated to ng3 through the stock recovery I was able to take the ota updates for 4.4.4 and 5.0 normally.
Thanks, I'm going to try this now. Hope I don't lose any data!

I tried the instructions in that thread but I get an error when I try to install the first update.

What I did is copy the file to the SD card, booted into recovery and then selected install from external
What did I do wrong?
Hi there. Thank you so much for this. Question is that I am already on NG3 and I still dont have the update option! Would I need to go to OA1 one? Which I believe is 4.4.4? Then get the update for lollipop? A little confusion. And if that is the case, where can I get the file thing for OA1?

You could always try sideloading the NG3 to OA1 update then flashing through stock recovery from the other thread I mentioned.
I've already tried to wipe and factory reset everything. it didn't work. I'm currently running non rooted stock 5.0.1 and I'm just trying to find the md5 file to flash on odin. if someone could help me out that would be awesome. I'm getting really annoyed with this phone tonight.
There isn't one. You need to flash NE3 and then update to 5.0.1.
