Hello! Whenever I am in driving mode with the moto x for some reason the music that I'm playing from my moto x doesn't stop playing whenever I get a text message and touchless controls turns on to read the text to me. Can anyone help with fixing this? I've currently tried google play and music player pro and both showed the issue.
Are you on a BT connection, aux cable, or usb cable?
I am now on aux cable, but it did the same thing on bt.

One of the things that was frustrating on the old X was that driving mode was sort of useless if the device connected to your car Bluetooth. My understanding is that there are two reasons:
1) The primary reason is a2dp. All audio is routing through Bluetooth and unless you car is set to the Bluetooth/aux input, you don't get any of that audio. The phone is sending to the car but the phone doesn't know the car isn't playing it.
2) moto sort of assumed while on Bluetooth in your car, the car is handling everything and you don't need their Assistance.
Thoughts on these? Any way for the features to still work on the new x while on Bluetooth?

I too am finding it annoying that Moto X won't cut in with an announcement over the car stereo. I've just come from Windows Phone 8.1 and it had no problem doing that. Have you found a solution that works?
I find that it works quite fine. In my phone BT settings, I set my car bluetooth to media only. I set my BT earpiece to calls only. I get all moto drive, Google voice notifications over the car stereo. My phone calls go to the earpiece for privacy. Moto drive still announces calls over the car BT stereo.
Reading the original post, my car stereo is always on BT. I stream music / content through my phone when I'm in the car. I don't use the radio or CD player.

When I'm connected via Bluetooth with both phone and media selected in Bluetooth settings there's 2 scenarios. If I'm listening to the radio the incoming text is muted and will not play through the phone speaker or through my car speakers. If I select media on my car stereo to listen to music that's on my phone via Bluetooth then incoming text will play through my car speakers. I put all my music on a flash drive and use the USB port. Then I uncheck media in Bluetooth settings. Incoming text come through my phone speaker but phone calls still come through car speakers

Mine does not read incoming texts through my car speakers, and volume lowers so much on my phone that I can't hear the text being read. Phone calls are not an issue. Everything routes through my car speakers. Seemed to work fine when I had the Moto X 2013 edition. I've tried changing every Moto Voice setting I can find without success. No issues streaming Google Play Music or Pandora through the Bluetooth car connection, either.
While using my phone on the car i plug in an audio cable to listen to music. The phone goes into driving mode as moto assist detects the movement (i guess), then i can say my phrase to wake up the phone, but the voice that reads me the messages and results is ultra ultra low, it is there, but I have to max my car volume to hear it. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing? Im on Stock Lollipop.
TL: DR: I cant hear the voice of the phone through the audio cable in my car.

I'm having this issue for some time and was trying to solve by myself but my resources are done.
Scenario: OP3T 128Gb OOS 4.0.2 (no root) playing music using Spotify on a car Bluetooth device (Toyota Corolla - picture of the stereo attached).
Problem: Audio cuts during play. I can also listen some noise indicating problems on audio transmission. Iá attaching a 1 song recorded in the car where is possible to listen the audio cutting some times during just one minute. It's impossible to listen music with this problem. So annoying.
No problems listening to music on other bluetooth devices like earphones or a audio totem. No problems listening using audio jack.
Workaround: When I do a Network Setting Reset the problem goes for a while, normally for a day. The problem come back after some time and I need to reset network settings again. I'm basically resetting network settings every day.
My wife's iPhone plays without any issue. I had a Moto X Style (Pure) before and I had this problema after flash some CM13 based ROMs, solved by flashing the original fw some times. (Moto X Style have some problems and if u flash modem and other thing once it won't work)
Anyone else had this kind of problems? So I need some help to figure out what is happening.

Well, my bluetooth connection is stable. But sometimes when connecting to my car's bluetooth it starts playing music through the phones speaker instead of transmitting it to the car. I have to disable and enable it again - kinda annoying when the party is in your lap, at least while driving in a car.
I have a Pioneer NEX4200 headunit in my car that I use in conjunction with an iPod for my driving music. With my old phone (Moto X Pure), even though I wasn't streaming music from it, I could still toggle the MEDIA toggle in the bluetooth settings so that when I used Google Assistant from my head unit, the audio would play back through the car speakers. On the Note 8, it seems that I can only get the MEDIA toggle to stay on if the head unit is set to play music from Bluetooth and not my iPod, which means that when I am using the latter and try to do a voice search, the audio comes through on the phone and not the car speakers.
Am I missing something in my settings on the phone of which I am unaware? Has anyone had this issue?
