Ah, no worries. This is the one feature I miss from using Carbon ROM on my Galaxy Nexus. I hate the huge nav bar.
Hi guys, this is my first port, i am not a developer, i have just followed a rom porting guide, and it worked.
Thanks to: @rishabh.raj37
NOTE:
This is just a copy-paste work, not a source build, i am just sharing my work, if u found bugs, do some research to solve it before posting here.
The rom has lots of customization options, its stable and smooth.
Tested by me and my friends.

I always loved the PAC-Man roms. Will reply soon what I see (sorry for this really bad english)
@Jamil69 is just impossible to disable the navbar? I can configure it, but can't disable...
Does it contain GAPPs?
P.S. how to disable those navigation buttons on the bottom?
From the CM11 thread:
Appl_Usr said:
To get rid of the on-screen navigation keys, open a root editor, mount as RW. Go to /system, find build.prop, add "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" without quotes at the bottom. Save and reboot. Tadaa!

Go to: settings>pacsettings>buttons>ButtonsAndLoyout
And there are two options Rearrange and settings. Goto settings and open navigation bar hight and width and then change to "0dp off" in both.

Is there anyway to disable the hardware keys? Want to use on screen nav bar..
Ok guys I have made some of these for the nexus 6 as I really can't stand having the back button on the left so I made a mod to reverse the back and recents buttons if anyone is interested, this has only been tried and verified working on build MDB08M and added for MMB29M but should work on any stock build, if your on a custom rom I can make one for that rom if you post your framework-res.apk and systemui.apk as flashing on a rom that has anything changed in sysemui can cause problems. I just added one that will switch the softkeys and adds center clock. Added the swap for NPD35K with thanks from @biff6789 for catching the other areas that needed to be changed.

Cool! Thanks man!
is there a possible way to add Softkey menu button? Thx in advance @molson8045

Is there a possibility you could post just a center clock mod? Please and thanks
Thank You So Much for this, was driving me crazy too!
Edit: This worked great on 08K

Added a center clock only in OP.
You should add [MOD] to the headline of the OP.
So in order to use this mod you have to flash it and be rooted?

Yes, you need to have a custom recovery i.e. twrp to flash, no need for root, but while you're at it you might as well go the distance.

Thank you very much. Great work for this phone esp during its development infancy
Would it be possible to add the original frameworkres and systemui? I know I can just reflash system, but I have a bunch of mods to redo and that would be simpler. Thanks!
Any chance this would work on the 5x?

I don't think it would work on the 5X unless the systemui is the same, but if you post your systemui and framework-res apks I can make one that will work.
No way !

Is there any way to make the status bar and pull down like AOSP Lollipop? I really don't mind anything else about this phone except for that.
I think only way is installing AOSP-rom... Not sure..

I'm hopeful that this will work for our Mi 9, once we can unlock bootloader and root:
https://mi-globe.com/miui-notification-icons-for-notch-phones/
It is fixed in 9.3.21 global beta
Oh man that would be awesome!. Since switched to my new mi9 I miss some important messages if I forget to swipe down
So i just got my phone today and realized that new notification incoming just flash on status bar once and that's it. It's really terrible and I miss seeing the icons. Is there a way i can permanently keep notification icons on the status bar?

Weird! Is that with just gravitybox module installed?
Works all good here.
As for any miui update, I doubt anything specific given really best compatibility is for AOSP roms, but perhaps request it via their threads

I just found out that in xiaomi.eu rom you can just activate notification icons from the settings... and they work correctly now without installing GB...
I think that for now I'm good like this
In the EU Rom (Global 10.2.17 Stable) it's a simple setting
- Notifications and Status Bar
- Show icons for incoming notifications
Edit : I confirm that icons also disappear in 10.2.22, they just were there a few more seconds. Dammit.

Don't hate me, but I LOVE this "bug" , android is so pishy with notifications, I don't need to be reminded all the time that spotify is running for example, I mean I can tell that it's running since I'm listening to music. I wish we could just choose wish apps are allowed to show an icon on the status bar, that'd be something

It's not a bug, it's a feature. [emoji41]
I like it, and read about it a hundred times before buying this phone, don't understand how people are still surprised about it...
Edit: nevertheless, Xiaomi should give the option for it, aware that a lot of users dislike it, as they did with notch smoothing.
