Does the vzw n6 have 2 radios to allow simultaneous call & data even in 3G?
No

it can do volte though, which is better. thats voice and data, at the same time, over lte.
What if only 3G available?

One subject I have not seen questioned yet is the ability of the Bionic to use voice and data similtanously. I would think it should be able to on at least 4g only like the lg revo. I wonder if it can also on 3g as well like the thunderbolt. Anyone know yet?

You can only do it on 4G. The Thunderbolt can only do it on 4G. 3G on Verizon is CDMA and it is not capable of simultaneous voice and data. At least in its current Rev A state.

Quite positive thunderbolt can do it on 3g. Its called "SVDO".
Revo and Charge can only do it 4g.

I believe the Thunderbolt has dual radios to accomplish this? Am I mistaken? If that's the case, I've seen no mention of dual radios in the Bionic, but I will still be getting this beast!

Nope. The Thunderbolt has SVDO. Simultaneous voice and data are possible over 3G.

No, the Thunderbolt has a radio with SVDO enabled. Even without LTE, the Thunderbolt can still do voice and data at the same time.
Regardless, the Bionic will have two separate radios as LTE enabled SOCs haven't been released yet.

That is wrong. The thunderbolt can carry on a voice conversation and send/receive data while in 3g.

Actually the Thunderbolt also has two separate radios as well. The way it achieves SVDO is due to its LTE radio also being able to support EV-DO. The complete details can be found here.
Cheers
I updated to the latest OTA and I now don't have simultaneous voice + LTE. I know that the new tri band phones with Sprint Spark lost this feature but I didn't think the OTA would break an existing feature. Anyone else experience this??
First off, wrong section. Secondly, there is no way for that to be possible. When I was using the Sense 5.5 ports, the LTE signal would disappear on call, but the devs confirmed it was still working. We never found out why it happened, but data & voice on LTE will always work hence why everyone SVDO was dropped.

I can confirm that when on LTE and you get a call the data indicator shows as if your data dropped but data still works. Just noticed it myself yesterday as a matter of fact.

I remember on the Evo 4g LTE, you could do 3G while using voice. I wish that feature still worked... I still don't have 4G

Exactly sir, thank you...
Data and voice at same times works fine on cm11.
I believe it worked for me on stock you just need to enable DDTM.
in dialler do ##3242#, edit, then enter your msl
I think its under evdo. Look for DDTM and set to enable.

The EVO LTE & S3 generation of phones were the only SVDO phones. S4 until now CAN'T do voice over 3g. You'll only get voice/data on WiFi and/or LTE!
I have noticed that since the update every-time I end a call I get the no data message and it takes 20-30 seconds for it to come back, rather annoying actually.
All,
on my Note 3 I can talk and use data at the same time. I thought I had read somewhere that the Nexus 6 would do the same. But it seems that it will not.
I am wrong?
Thanks Dave
I am on AT&T and I have used DAT and a phone call at the same time. This has more to do with your carrier and not the actual device.

Oems have made all phones that are sprint spark capable with only one pathway from modem. ..last phone on sprint that can do svlte is note 3 ...vzw is the same
Unfortunately it doesn't work on this phone =/

The Nexus 6 will not do simultaneous voice and data on Sprint or Verizon. (Although on Verizon it should be possible in some areas when VoLTE starts rolling out, not 100% sure with Sprint.)
Same with sprint they are rolling out volte sometime 2015+
Thanks for the response.

That's why T-Mobile is winning more customers and Sprint is sending techs to your house to help you set up your phone. Priorities. ???
im just wandering if anyone nows if the sprint version can use data while in a phone call or if it can be made to be fixed to
As long as you have LTE or Wi-Fi then you should have data with voice. I have caller ID!
If I use the phone I can't use data

No triband sprint phone can use data and voice at same time have to wait for volte

Yup.. Just confirming what these guys have told you, no data + calls. I do miss that feature I had on my Verizon G3. Not the end of the world but it just seems like all phones should be capable of this these days.
Which US carriers has everyone got the Mi 5 to work on? Specifically. I'm wondering about Sprint. Has anyone activated this phone on Sprint?

So, how do you like the phone on T-Mobile? What kind of speeds are you seeing with hspa?
I am not sure whether to go for this or OnePlus 3. Your response will make my decision go one way or the other
Hi, usually hspa gets me about 3-4 MB/s. It's unfortunate that I haven't gotten lte working, but I personally I have wifi almost everywhere.

Ok, thanks for the info. I see that there are lots of areas where I see that network coverage will be spotty for T-Mobile as the device does not carry critical T-Mobile bands. So, I decided to stay away from MI 5 even though I love the look of the device.
