[Q] hd7 7.8 update errors

i have updated my hd7 to 7.8 the cab method, but the lock and wallpaper doesn't work anymore and its software version is still 7.5 and its OS is 7.10.8858.136 i have tried to re install the update but with no success the error i usually get is 8018004d which from what i have read its a problem with the language packs i have tried all the languages with the re install of the update and still no remedy does anyone have any ideas what it could be please.

Have you tried to update using Seven-Eighter?
It's easier and safer. Just don't forget to select all installed languages to update.

issues with my update as well
I updated using the seventy-eighter program and thought it was great. However, I noticed some issues after the "full" update. I noticed that several apps would not run and now the only thing I can do is make/receive phone calls. I can get text messages, but it closes when you try to answer them. I also can't enter an account for email or anything else.
I am not too pissed off since I did push the updates (was getting the 80180048 error messages) and I will try to revert back to an earlier version and start over... just don't want the same thing to happen again.

What about custom ROM? I'm using Dynamics 2 and it's great.

I have done the update but the link for lock and wallpaper dosent work and its still windows phone 7.5 but says 7.10.8858 when i did the update i forgot to install the language packs i have since tried to install the languages again but with error code just using he languages listed on the phone now i tried installing all european languages with a differant error code its bugging me now even tho its still fully operational with just two minor problems but would like them resolved if any one has any ideas what it could be i welcome your reply
i cant install a custom rom but would very much like to but my spl is 5.11.xxx and cant downgrade and can you use seven eighter without unlock device ?

i have used seveneighter tool to upgrade my HD7 to 7.8 by selecting the English UK knowing that i had English USA - it did not work other wise - but now, i am not able to run many applications such as email, sms , wireless, about etc.
i did restore the backup i had but did not solve the problem; still not able to use any of the applications
any one can help?

the problems i had i have now resolved i re updated starting at 8779 installed the os and languages wich it said it completed but everything stayed the same then i updated to 8783 which failed then updated to 8858 with both os files and lanuages which it completed then after re boot had a louu on the about screen and it had updated to windows phone 7.8 and my lock and wallpaper worked everything was fixe i even have bing wallpapers and new theme colours i suggest you try the same via the seven eighter tool and let me no how you get on

there is not working at me as yours. Same problem. It did not work email, sms, about, wireless and others.

so, no luck yet!!

i have got the same problem after updating to 7.8 on my htc hd7 messages dont open wifi and some settings options wont open at all....anyway to rollback...i am an amateur...so please explain how to rollback step by step...it wud be gr8 if anyone cud help thank u...m missing my phone

try the way i did it i explained the procedure that i did to fix my problems on the 25th feb hav a go and let me no how u get on

I have the same problems on mu HTC HD7 (T-Mobile) . and your post didn't help me. Could you clarify what kind of languages did you check to install correct 8858?

i just installed dutch english and spanish try doing what i said and instal them languages thats how i fixed mine

when I try to install with english(US) I've managed to update my phone to 8773 but installation of next update show me the error.. see attached file.
but I don't get any error message when I install english(UK) or for example russian but and wifi, lock screen and other application don't still work.

have a look what languages are installed wen i did mine i forgot the languages and just used the os files but when i fixed it i just installed the languages that were still installed on the device after the update also i did mine via cab update your attached image looks like you mite b using seven eighter tool which i have no idea how to use my device is locked so i couldnt use it and mite not work the same way sorry but worth a try

I've managed to fix my problem. SevenEigther couldn't install correct english(us). when I've get my error I installed english manualy via "WP7 Update Cab Sender". Then I run SevenEigther again to continue update.... and Now I am happy I have 7.8 on my phone!

[Q] Screen black out on receiving incoming call

Hi friends,
I have a problem with my phone for incoming call. Its actually happen 3 out of 5 times. the problem is whenever I got incoming call my display Black screen. First i thought it was proximity problem and i have removed screen guard too.. But the problem is always persist.What should i do now.
Any solution for this help appreciated!!!!

Oh man, it's normal, turn off screen when using call is a funcion of phone.

does this occur while charging or not?
if it occurs while charging then its the bug from the software
if it occurs while the phone is idle then maybe the sensor is blocked or there is a bug
try cleaning the phone in the sensors area or do a factory reset

This is a bug of old 1.45
Edit: update your phone in settings>system update or flash a rom

Hi,
I have this problem on both while charging and in idle state too.I have checked my phone software"No new software found" and i even resetted my phone too..Please guide me to the solution.

some updates are available according to region ! can u specify if u get blank screen during charging only or even when phone is unplugged then also ?

Yep, when using wifi, i checked and it show " No new software"
but when using 3G, it show have update to V.2, ( about 40mb)

Updated: Now problem only in charge mode.

i have went to htc service and they have replaced proximity sensor/kind of hardware which related to this problem and did software like "collaberation" tools too. but now that "blank screen"problem happens only in phone charging mode.. what to do now???
I am from south india,i dont have any rom or flash installed. I haven't made any software changes to my phone.Please guide me a solution.
May i know whats the updated software version(desire C).I m not getting any software from Htc through Wifi too

check for software updates.., its a bug which shows black screen but has been updated...check if ur region has that update by going to settings-about-software update . if it isnt available then be patient or flash latest version of roms.

i have the same problem while charging and my phone has the 2.00 version and there is no update to do(stock rom)
you could select "stay awake" so the phone won't go to sleep while charging or put your brightness to "autobrightness" and you should be able to see the call. +wait for the update as htc said they will releasa an update (donno when,i talked with them 1 month ago)

just go to settings> about> software information
long story short
stock rom=unmodified rom from HTC
custom rom(faster,more customizable)=modified rom based on stock rom

[Q] Can I have help downgrading my Samsung ATIV SE from 8.1 Dev Preview to Stock 8

I have 2 Samsung ATIV SE's that are both experiencing the same software glitches from the 8.1 preview (opening camera or flashlight causes phone to reboot, lock screen unresponsive, screen unresponsive, cannot end calls with touch screen, kids corner missing "configure" button)
I have downloaded the Nokia Software Update utility in attempts to try that to downgrade my software back to just WP8, but when it says "Plug in your phone" it doesn't recognize my phone (likely because its a samsung, not a nokia). I have called Samsung and even went to the Samsung booth in Bestbuy whom both have stated that I will need to "send my phone in to samsung to reflash the rom". That seems excessive.
Is there anyone that can help me with reinstalling WP8 back onto my device? I am fine with waiting until the 8.1 update comes out officially.

I could do a long explanation but I keep it short , NO there is no way for you to return to stock wp8.
this will only happen when someone leaks a ROM for your phone.
and a Tip: Don't ever use other then Samsung wp software for your phone (flasher, firmware , drivers ) because it could render your phone in a paperweight.

install Driver on pc, connect phone, put phone in download mode, open flasher ,hit Flash , wait 20 mins till phone boots, have fun with stock Rom

Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE lost imei after Windows 10 update.

Hello im a newbie on the lumia front, i used the Windows insider app to update to win 10 but after the install the fone was left in boot loop so i used the thread install 1024? In lumia to fix the mess. However acter the flash i got the "successful flash" message but when the fone rebooted i was left with no imei number & cant leave flight mode. I hope somebody out there knows of a way to fix this problem. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. Dave.

First try Hard Reset, if that wont help, the go back to stock 8.1 update 2 (with Windows Device Recovery Tool), then with slow ring update it to 10586.11. For now use only what Microsoft offers, dont experiment for now, because you'll have a problem again. There is a lot of bugs on no official builds.

Hello Opus Dei, ive followed your instructions to the letter but still cant leave flight mode. Do you have anymore ideas on how i can releave my problem? I dont know if this info will help you any - I'm using a Microsoft Lumia640 LTE, i was on stock rom then i installed the insiders app & updated my phone but i used the "fast" method. The first update was fine then a couple of days later i had another update note so i did that but when the update was finished & the fone went to reboot itself it just kept boot-looping, i left it doing this overnite but still no joy so i used the "install 105##" but when the fone rebooted it was stuck in flight mode & i cant get round it & i'd bought the fone for my sons birthday which is this week so im willing to try any of your instructions to solve the problem. Im hoping you or anybody else has a solution to get me out of this situation. Thanks to all the helpers - Dave.
Ive noticed that in the "extras & info" section it says "Mobile Operator 000-GB" which ive found to mean open network but my fone was bought locked to Vodafone & when i turn it on its branded with Vodafone. Could this be anything to do with my problem?

I have just got android P update a few munites ago. After restart, My Phone required password as ussual. But it doesn't appear keyboard .... That's amazing ! Now i'm crying over my phone =((( just see , can't touch ! Anybody with knowlege tell me how to solve this problem ! I have no idea now and not good at deeply system. I just bought phone and use it , no root , no unlockBoatloader so far !

I ve got problem too! I got update today .... system->system updates (was on 9.6.17.0) and after downloaded and applying i had option "RESTART"
After restart -> BLACK SCREEN
(Flashing again V9.6.10.0 version, that one was thy only one that worked with MiFlash - newer couldnt install system on my MI A2)

Seems like i have disabled GGkeyboard before cause i used to another keyboard for getting better exp in my language ! After restart several times, i turned off power and like you said : Black Screen !
