I've searched the various threads and can't seem to find this specific question. Does anyone know if the Samsung Flip Cover works properly with rooted note 4? I've seen a lot with the note 3 and the need for xposed framework modules but don't find anything for note 4. Thanks
I was using the hyperdrive ROM and the infamous ROM.they both Work real well.just not on the lollipop aosp Roms.
Thanks. I went in to best buy and tried it out. Worked well with stock root.

Considering the S5 vs the S5 Active and I know they are much more similar in specs than the S4 vs S4 Active but there are still a few differences between the two, no USB 3.0, no Fingerprint reader, adds physical menu and back buttons and is more shockproof.
So besides that is there anything else to consider like OS updates, Root or Custom ROMs?
I saw the S4 Active was limited in support for Custom ROMs that would run on S4 but not on S4 Active.
Any information or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

there is alot more custom roms for the regular s5. but either device is a flagship in this line. without considering root and roms, both are great devices.
I recently picked up the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini Virgin Mobile variant, the Samsung Galaxy "Ring" (SPH - M840) and noticed that there isn't much of any development going on for this phone(or it's Boost Mobile sister the "Prevail 2") at all. So it got me to thinking to ask here, could someone try to build a CM 11 (4.4.4 android) ROM for this device? Or at least find a way to port S3 mini ROMs to this phone?
Being stuck with 4.1.2 is slightly annoying for me on this phone, considering I'm coming from an ancient LG Optimus V that is running 4.4.4, and this was supposed to be an upgrade for me.
I have it rooted, and using xposed Framework, but I miss the perks of custom ROMs. There's hardly a fully functional custom Recovery too, and it seems that theres no signs of current Devs for this phone as well.
I know this may seem like a lot to ask, but considering this phone is supposed to be similar(some hardware is different I believe) to the S3 mini, I figured I'd take my chances here.

My contract will be coming up for renewal in June. I currently have a Galaxy S4 and I have to say that it has absolutely been my favorite phone so far. I thankfully got it rooted before safestrap came on the scene so I honestly haven't had to work with that. I currently have Goldfinger ROM on it which is a TouchWiz ROM which I really enjoy TW.
I was wanting to get a Note 4 just because I figured if I'm going to renew my contract with AT&T, then I want to be able to get the lastest-greatest device, however, the deal breaker is there currently doesn't look like there is a way to root the Note 4 and I have several apps that require root access.
Is there anyone else that has had the S4 and has upgraded to the Note 3? Any regrets?
My next course of action is to check the development section to see if there is a TW ROM that keeps the Note 3 as close to stock as possible but just removes all the AT&T bloatware.
Thanks in advance for any/all responses!

I got Note 3, Note 4 and samsung galaxy S5. From my experience : i love note 4 even if there is no root yet ( i hope in near future) . If you fan of TW i will go note 4 , but if you want to flash using safestreap you can get galaxy S5 and finally if you want to flash and have some futures as note 4 i will go with note 3 or wait and see is root will brake for Note 4. I love all phones barely use note 3 but on bone stock with turn off (disable) of some apps (bloatware) i'm happy with S5 and Note 4.
I have some questions regarding the note 5 SM-N920C (international version) 64gb in black sapphire for people who bought it and use it as daily driver:
1. Are there any hardware and/or software issues to be aware of to check when going to the store before i buy? should i wait until some issues are fixed with newer revisions or software updates?
2. Regarding the ram management issue, how many apps should be opened before the phone restarts apps when revisiting them? When it happens, is progress lost? Does rooting the device completely solve this issue?
3. Would it be possible to change the samsung android version to stock android or near stock, something like nexus 6p or z5? Would i have to install a rom for it or is it doable without installing a rom? Will i loose the s-pen functions?
4. Are all note 5's equipped with sony's imx240 sensor for the rear camera? I hope so.
Is there anything I should know when applying a custom Rom such as any major functionality loss on the note 9 (S pen), is this phone good to keep for another 3/4 years, will the support from the mod community be there? Thanks for any responses!

There are some LineageOS versions, you won't loose S pen functionalities. Only major thing you're gonna loose is the iris scanner(only supported on OneUI).
buy the one with exynos soc, and if possible, go for the 512gb if it's relatively cheap. this helps for upgrade after a few years
just my 2 cents
