Hi Guys,
After hearing so much problems with the Note screen, I had another good look of mine tonight and found these weird looking white lines/dots at the bottom left of my screen.
Are these dead pixels or stuff underneath the screen?
HELP Please.....might have to get an exchange with handtec...so much hassles....
Those look like stuck pixels to me.

You have taken a pic with the default scratch guard on just remove and slightly clean the screen and see if it goes away, but most probably its 2 dead pixels, mine 1st one had 1. Quality issues with samsung !

I'm pretty sure it's not between the screen and the default protector....where did you buy yours from?
Seriously...I'm very disappointed with Samsung now....I mean, I have heard many people having problems with their screens, but never thought I would get one of them defected ones....
Looks like dead/stuck pixels I'm afraid.
Can you get a macro shot? It's kind of hard to tell without a closer view. When I've had stuck/dead pixels in the past, they've always been very discrete, tiny dots without any haze or blur, which it looks like yours has. I also wonder if it's something to do with the screen protection film. When you do a macro shot will you lift it and clean the screen?
Here....I have lifted up the screen protector....I didn't take off the screen protector was because maybe if I didn't handtec might exchange me the phone quicker....but what the heck...I need to be sure anyways...so here are the pictures.
Man.....so much trouble for this phone....very disappointed with the build quality of the screen now....
Now I will have to wait for a while to get my exchanged new phone ....
Any ideas how long it might take? I read on handtec that if the item is returned after 10 days...it will go under warranty and so does that mean they won't exchange my phone straight away??? Anyone got any experience with them??

nuh...I have tried to count them...there are a least 4 dots plus a line....very strange....they are also bright green instead of being white.....can't see them with the black background....
Shows you how bad of quality the phone I got....
I am very surprised I have not noticed them before.
Just found out online...there is a difference between stuck and dead pixels, and apparently stuck pixels can possibly be fixed yourself...might give it a try....
nuh...none of the apps seem to work
Been using JScreenFix for the phone for about half a day....just flashing the screen.....
I think the pixels have gotten a bit darker......don't know if it's my eyes playing tricks on me or not....but will continue to flash the screen for the rest of the day and then check it again tonight....hopefully then will be gone
The thing I don't really get is why the green dots (more than 3 of them) would only appear on Green, White and Grey backgrounds, and not appear on the Red, Blue and Black Backgrounds.....Anyone got any ideas?
because every colour of the spectrum uses green except for red, blue and some combination of red blue
black is when the screen is off

Hi there. I just bought the Note few days ago and I can confirm that I have the EXACT problem as yours. Except mine is just a dot. It's like a pixel that seems to be the only brighter pixel when the screen displays full green, white or grey background (specifically used the LCD test *#0*# & Burn-In Tester Pro app).
I assume that it is a stuck or a hot pixel simply because.. it lights up. Unlike dead pixel is like.. a dead bulb/pixel (Assumptions. HEHE.)
Actually on the day that I bought the Galaxy Note, I was really careful. I even dialed the *#0*# LCD TEST at the shop to look out for screen defects. It was FLAWLESS. So I bought it. And I have this habit to look out for defects even after purchase, so I always go to the LCD Test and Burn-In Tester Pro app to check, and is still perfect.
Not until, last night, I dialed *#0*# and hit "Black (Vibrate)" with the intention to check for the "blemishes/blobs" in a totally dark room. It was only apparent after my eyes had adjusted to the darkness and I do see the not so obvious blobs. So after noticing that, it didn't bother me so I happily watched an Blu-Ray quality video (Despicable Me) and that's when I noticed the BRIGHT pixel which I assume it to be a STUCK/HOT pixel. I hope it is just a stuck pixel which hopefully can be fixed over time. Don't know about hot pixels..
Right now I'm playing a Full HD video of a downloaded YouTube video called Pixel Fix, on loop, with Video Brightness set to full. My instinct says to try it out but i do know that after awhile, since it's an AMOLED technology, colors could be darker over time as the pixels slowly 'burn-out'.
AND if it doesn't work, I might try to turn off the phone and leave it somewhere really cool/chilled. And switch it on after awhile when it reaches room temperature. I read it somewhere that it works to remove stuck pixels. They put their phones in a fridge in a wrapping and they said it worked. I forgot though where I read it from.
Oh, it's this one --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21025093
Someone managed to fix a dead pixel. Hmm, but it's a phone with an LCD screen. Nyeh.
Good luck to us. Man, it was only few days ago when I bought the Note. *sniffs*
Seems quiet here. Seems like not many people have or aware of this bright spot defect.
But I found this which seems to concern about the matter. http://www.patentgenius.com/patent/7955151.html
I guess it gives some idea of what it really is. Cheers.
And I am gonna let this 'problem' go this time cos it's so small but I do hope that it won't get any worse. Or if it fixes itself that would be a miracle

I just want to let the community know that I ordered 2 nexus 7's last Wed. and got them today. BOth have 0 screen problems (Raising or washed out colors).. Perhaps they fixed the issue. I decided to order from google because the 2 I bought from Walmart had screen raising problems.

Lucky... I've had FIVE N7s so far and they've all some type of defect. Some had dead pixels and screen flicker, and others had a raised screen.
Quick Question though:
Did they come with 4.1.1 pre installed?

no.. just 4.1...
I just received my replacement N7 today and it's perfect. The first one I got last week in the mail had a creaky screen; the beginning of screen lift. I called Google and they sent another one out and this one has no issues. Unlocked, rooted, and loving it!

Mine's a C60K build, no defects.
I'm still skeptical on the no washed out claim. Seems like they all have this. Some people just don't notice it.

No some are definitely worse than others. I've had one that was washed out with less saturation and now my current one which is fine...
First C6 I had screen had no lift was perfect but had battery defect (kept dying at 20% even after calibration and other troubleshoooting), C7 now has screen lift and gonna try and exchange it out again.
Both did the oversaturation/washed out thing after watching netflix or a video
**EDIT just got back with the replacement another C7 was good out of the box, no lift but after using now I got either a stuck/dead pixel upper right of my screen got the stuck pixel fixer running but I think its toast. 3 for 3 with issues now
*edit 2 exchanged it out today there were no more in stock so just took the credit back

I agree with that. I've seen some pictures of really badly washed out ones. But I think there is still some minor washed out look to all of them.
Well maybe I am lucky than, I got mine on WalMart and there is no screen lift, no dead pixels and color is perfect.

Honestly, there's so much variability in screens that nothing surprises me. I've gone through four N7's so far, screens have been:
1. Very nice colors, relatively neutral whites, color temps just about right (not too hot, not too cold, just like Goldilocks). Returned because of dead pixel and screen lifting. Wish I hadn't, though; I could have lived with the dead pixel and minimal screen lift for a much better screen.
2. Extremely yellow tint, very unpleasant whites, colors also off; can't decide if it's color temp too warm (which I usually associate with a reddish tint) or something else. Couldn't get past the screen on this one, so returned it for this reason alone.
3. Somewhere in between #1 and #2 in yellow tint and colors. Not terrible, not great. Unfortunately, speaker was WAY too low, almost unusable even at max volume. Also the only one with actual mushiness and creaking on the left side. Returned that one too.
4. A little more yellow than #3, a little less than #2. But three dead pixels, and speaker distorted starting at 75% volume.
#1-#3 were from Google Play, and I had two sitting side by side throughout so I could compare them. #4 is from Staples.
So, yes, who knows what some people are experiencing when it comes to the screen. I can definitely imagine some people having less saturated colors and such, because I saw difference on four different units.

Well got mine today and the left side of the screen is separating pretty bad. Just got off the phone with them for a replacement.. ah well..number 2 on the way.
Are you having problems where a hard tap on different parts around the bezel results in the screen glitching? I am not putting much pressure on the bottom left corner (side with screen lift) and the screen starts warping.
im sending back 2 nexus today because of issues were the touch screen stops responding after a few mins of use. is this a common issue? makes playing a game or any use more than 5 mins pointless.
It seems the camera won't focus properly. The close up shots and front camera shots are high quality but the far shots its all blurry. Its not even that far lets say around 4-5 feet and the picture is blurry. Anyone know what might be causing this?
also if i take long shots in selfie mode the pics come out perfect, its just pics from the back camera that r still coming out blurry when taking long shots, for close ups the back camera works perfect but if i move it back say 3 feet its blurry again
Can you post a sample pic? & You did removed the clear protective film from the back camera?
I am having the same issue. Protective film is off.
The camera will not hold focus on anything further away than a few feet. It seems to be an issue POST update on T-Mobile.
Phone will not focus
My Note 4 takes very bad pictures. It will hold focus for less then a second and when I take the picture its not focussed,
i purchased the phone brand new off ebay last week, how would i go about on exchanging the phone for another note 4? or would a future update fix this issue? everything else works fine its just the long shots from the back camera
my phone has the same issue, it's not just focus for the pictures, but also for video recording. if i take it little bit far away, it comes out blurry. it actually thinks that little blurry focus is the right focus.

Exchange it. Only a handful of us had that issue. My 2nd n4 focuses fine.
Man, everything works perfect expected the focus on the camera. I already passed 14 days to exchange it. I hope the software update is going to fix it.

Camera was working ok with versions 4. x and pictures were nice and crisp.
Once upgraded to Lollipop pictures are blurry now, faces are washed off.
Happened on both mine and my wife's phone.

I'm having the same issue with my note 4. Takes blurry pics from distance, but close ups are sharp. I don't know how I did it, but if I hit the phone a couple times it focuses. Strange. But it works.
Not having issues. Pictures are picture-perfect.
My note 8 should be delivered any minute now. I'm nervous it'll have some defect. Almost every Samsung phone I've had prior did.. From wobbly home buttons to the light leak to crooked screens. What do you think my chances are it could be perfect and not have any of those problems? I'm mostly concerned with the light leak... Which my note 7 had and my s7 edge has too. I've even had a couple that got here already with some scratches on it.
If every Samsung phone you had prior had defects why buy the note 8 knowing it also does? Sucker for punishment? Lol joking
You'll be fine... think positive.
One word: Warranty
Don't worry it will be fine. My note 8 works great. Goes to work for me. Cooks and cleans as well. Just trying to teach it fetch a beer for me and life will be completed.
Jokes aside phone is pretty reliable don't worry bro. Like others said warranty and no worries. Come close to 12 month range get samsung care and extend it even longer. Nothing in life is full proof. The most reliable things some batches of product will be bad.
I'm hoping since I'm buying it 4 months later that it will hopefully be a new batch with the light bleed issue fixed?

I haven't had a defect on any of my Samsung phones, and take it from a guy who spent a month thoroughly convinced that his $1300 256gb Korean Note 8 had a flawed antenna, only to eventually figure out that it was actually his own early version CSC patch that was causing his crap LTE signal. After tearing the phone apart...

Pro tip:
If the words on the screen seem hard to read or scrambled in some way, try turning the device 180 degrees and re-assess
I'm very angry. FedEx screwed me royally. I waited at my mailing address for hours today and it never came. Called multiple times and they kept telling me it'd come. I wouldn't count on it. I dont think Samsung considers it an issue. I guess I dont really either. Its just the edge of the glass curve emitting light like a fiber optic cable. As soon as you put a case on its gone. I got the alcantara case and it's completely covered. And it's a low profile case. Maybe Samsung will paint the glass edges next time.

People keep calling it light bleed. It kind of bothers me too. Its not light bleed. More like light transfer. Like fiber optics.
Look at the barcode area and see what the hardware revision is. It's sometimes labeled as H/W v1.0 etc...

Hey guys. Finally got the phone yesterday and... This is the best phone ever made. It came perfect... Not a single scratch. I did notice the "light bleed" or whatever you call it around the edges but idc... My note 7, s7 edge had the same thing and I bet almost every note 8 does. Immediately put on a unicorn beetle case. This thing is so fast and amazing. I'm truly blown away. I actually really like the fingerprint scanner location and it's faster than the one that was on the note 7 for sure. I love not having a physical home button. They used to be misaligned and wobble and it drove me nuts. Anyways, I'm loving nova launcher olkn this phone.
Now I'm wondering which apps I should disable and certain settings to tweak to get the best battery life?
So.... At this pace I'd get around 10 hours screen on time?! Battery dropping 5% in 30 mins... Brightness is around 35%.
Is that the case with the built in screen protector? If so can it be removed or do they make a version without the screen protector?

Hi Guys and Girls,
I've had my XZ3 nearly 6 months now and I started to notice two black dots on the bottom of my screen next to the bezel.
Initially it was only one dot and I kinda ignored it, but it has grown in size and now another dot has formed. Odd thing about the dots is, they are equal width from the side bezel.
Can someone check their phone and see if anything like it has happened.
The dots are getting annoying when watching netflix or amazon prime.

https://ibb.co/Czh2r8T
there are screen tests.
I bought a refurbished xz3, 2 weeks ago.
and I didn't see any points around during the test ..
Mine is a year old and i didn't have that. Did you put pressure on the screen?
Yeah been running dead pixel app to try and restore it, it seem a bit better but still present.
I've also used Sony's internal diagnostic tool *#*#7378423#*#* and ran the screen test.
This phone has been nursed since day one, been in a tough case its whole life. I have no idea what would have caused it.
