I'm not sure what settings I should be looking at. I just leave it as default that is to use wifi calling when connected to wifi network. Is there any particular setting that I need to be aware of?

If you have the auto switch then if u in a spot with 2 good services it might go back and forth. Will cause issues.. When u turn on WiFi calling which connection did you choose. Where are you calling on WiFi from home or out and about

I chose the first one which favors wifi calling if not, it will fall back to cell tower. And it's my home wifi. Wifi calling doesn't seem to work at my work place, it keeps saying connection error (red notification on notification pull down)
Well to start call Tmobile and make sure the issue is not on their side.. They might send you a new sim card.. Then take of the auto switch on WiFi and see if you good

I ran into a similar problem with Wifi-Calling at which I can hear voice from the other end but they cannot hear me. Problem was solved when I disable WAN and LAN ipv6 and default back to ipv4. Seems like Wifi-calling does not like ipv6 protocol at the moment.
Try running ur apn like mine.. Never have any issues

Doing this didn't really improve much for me for Wifi speed but it did cause bad wake locks..
it caused a Suspend services Wake lock pretty bad and drained my battery fast. tried several reboots and it always came back.
reset the Wifi CFG file back to 1 and reboot and then wake lock went away.
I just did this using ES explorer (Enabling Root Explorer and Mount File System as writable), now the Wifi will NOT turn on.
I even reverted the setting back to 1, still cannot turn wifi on.
How do I fix it???? Please help!

Phew, figured it out.

I just realized how bad wifi speed is on this phone. My busted screen beat up epic touch is 4-5 times faster on wifi speed tests. I guess i know why my vonage calls suck sometimes. Does anyone actually get full speed wifi or are all of us suffering from this issue?

The wifi radio in the phone is limited to 65 Mbits. That change won't make it become a multistream radio (this is a hardware limitation), it will merely change the way power management is handled, which can have an effect on the throughput (not the connection rate).

65/70/72 is all the same: single stream, 1x1 configuration.
What I'm saying is it's not a dual stream 135/150 Mbits.

I know this has been discussed about before. I have tried all of the other solutions, except a Factory Reset which i do not want to do. I do not have WiFi always scanning enabled. But i do have Location set to Battery Saving and Location Reporting enabled. I never had this problem until yesterday. My phone never sleeps and gets really hot because of the constant awake time. I did not install any new application. Google Play Services updated to 7.x. But i doubt that is the problem. The issue goes away if i switch to LTE only. I'm on stock 5.0 and I'm not rooted so i cannot drill down to see what exactly is eating my battery. Any help is appreciated.
Just an update. This seems to happen only on my Work Wi-fi which is not password protected. It does not happen on my home wifi or any other public access points. Any help is appreciated.
Download this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer
It will show you the other wifi connections using the same channel and if there are many connections, the phone will struggle more to get hold of a good signal though it shows that it has excellent range.

Thanks for the reply I have read the same problem been posted on Moto Owners Forum, but it wasn't me
I did install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobidia.android.mdm&hl=en and found that it was Google Backup Transport that was continuously keeping wifi on by downloading something. It does not happen with any other wifi network. I even switched off Backup & Restore. But this does not help.
I know there is no configuration problem in the router, because my Nexus 7 2013 works just fine on Wifi.
Ok..if you have access to the modem settings, try changing IPV6 to IPV4 in the settings.

Unfortunately i do not have access to the modem settings as it is my work Wifi. However, my phone worked fine on the same Network with same settings few days back. Don't know what is wrong with the phone. I don't want to factory reset yet
Rog phone 2 restart its wifi and cellular connection at the same time when sim(s) has weak cellular reception. ( It completely disconnected from cellular service and wifi for around 3seconds before it's establish it's new connection. It's very annoyed when i play game. Because if i don't turn off my sim(s) or use airplane mode while i play game. I will get disconnected from connection in the middle of the game(afk).)
How could i report the problem?
There are few members here also have same problem as me.
you could try do disable Wi-Fi scanning - search in the settings for 'scanning' and under Wi-Fi scanning, disable wifi and bluetooth. it may just fix the issue... so i have read on the telegram group forum

Solution is change your router wireless signal to either 2.4g or 5g but not mixed, as the phone tends to jump between the 2 quite often causing the disconnects.

Hey I've found out what to do and it's pretty simple. The cause of the disconnecting is that this phone keeps from switching from 5ghz Frequency to 2.4 and back so what you need to do is make your router stay at 5ghz or 2.4ghz (you can watch a video about the deferences so you can choose what to turn off)
Follow these steps:
Go to settings---Network and Internet---WiFi---click on your wifi---find gateway number (example 192.***.*.1) then write it in a Browser and it will send you to your Router provider website.
Now that site looks different from person to person so what you do now is look around that site until you find an option to turn off one of both GHz (2.4 or 5) so yeah that is pretty much it have fun a with stable wifi connection =)

This fix only WiFi issue, how about in cellular network restarting?
Hello all,
Recently i went to make a hotspot for my cars radio since the WIFI antenna doesn't get a good signal and i did not have the option to share WIFI. The only way i would be able to make a hotspot was to add it to my plan.. Which im not gonna do obviously since i only use it very often... Was this feature removed? I'm running Android 10 on ATT. It worked a few weeks ago... Any help?
Maybe some screenshot can help the other to answer for your problem

if youre running stock firmware, it doesnt shock me that your providers CSC locked out the native wifi sharing. If you flash the U1 firmware for your device (ubranded, directly from Samsung) then youll have that option again. I did that exact same thing on my S9

2. Would this affect anything on my phone from my provider? such as data.

Sorry... you're right a SS would of been useful.
As you can see no selection for WiFi share. Also, i need to disable WiFi in order to hotspot now.
IT is there, just a bit hidden...
Goto Settings... Connections... Mobile Hotspot and Tethering..top on the left of the Mobile Hotspot Toggle line (just tap the M of Mobile)... click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right...... voila... Wi-fi Sharing shows up!!!

yes, you have to turn off wi-fi before you can run your own hotspot, it probably just did it without alerting you to it before. These devices only have 1 wifi radio and it cant use one wifi while producing its own also
here is the U1 firmware should you decide to flash it. doesnt sound like its strictly necessary as others might have found a solution for you, but here it is anyways

What is the benefit (besides getting rid of bloat on the phone from ATT) for using the u1 firmware?
That's about it. Well that and the boot animations and so forth as well

Hi,
I'm seriously considering getting a good refurbished Pixel 5, but I would like to know if it's possible to set wi-fi calling preferences on 3UK.
To explain, I live in an area with very spotty cellular coverage so WiFi calling is a must have, but unless I can set the phone to prefer WiFi calling over cellular calling, I have to put my phone into airplane mode in my house because there is just enough cellular signal strength to prevent the phone from automatically using wi-fi for calls. Failure to use airplane mode results in many dropped calls because the signal isn't strong enough to support the call.
Any assistance gratefully received.
Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion but I think the availability of the wi-fi calling preferences options are based on the mobile network.
I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy S20FE because it has Bixby Routines, which lets me disable the cellular radios when the phone connects to my home WiFi network. Obviously, this isn't as elegant as allowing me to set a wi-fi calling preference.
The point is that this is a dual SIM phone - I've noticed that it offers wi-fi calling preferences for my O2 UK SIM but not for my 3UK SIM.
I don't think I'm going to get any luck with this unless I change network.
Thanks to all for your assistance.

Very interesting.
Now I don't use it, I should start looking into it, but I just don't have any uses off the top of my head, like what I foresee could work to your advantage.
Instead of Bixby, why not give tasker a try? It should be able to allow you to do what Bixby does and probably more.
You should def. be able to set up a Tasker "Routine" that allow you to disable the cellular radio when you connect to WIFI network, and maybe even a Tasker for setting the WIFI calling preference?
I wish you the best of luck with everything!

I actually tried Tasker first (I've used it many times over the years) but it isn't able to toggle Airplane mode without having to either root the phone or grant specific permissions via ADB (each time the phone is rebooted).
In case you are wondering, I have configured Airplane mode to leave WiFi and Bluetooth untouched, so it actually only toggles the cellular radio on and off.
Since Bixby Routines are "baked in" on Galaxy devices, it has no restrictions on setting Airplane mode on/off. Obviously, this solution is only available on Galaxy devices, which is why I'm using this S20FE 5G as my daily driver at the moment.
With any other devices, I have to remember to turn airplane mode on when I'm at home to force wi-fi calling. The problem is that I often forget to turn airplane mode off again when I'm out and about.
Thanks again to everyone for your help and suggestions.
