Hello my friends. I have the s5 mini(g800f) 2 months now. As i say on the subject of this thread, sometimes it shuts down by itself, and some other times it reboots by itself. The frequency of this problem is 1-2 times per week. It is very annoying. I spoke with samsung and they told me to put it in safe mode to see if an app is causing the problem. I am sure that no app is responsible for this. Anyone else has this problem? Maybe a solution? Please help....!!
I have the same problem.
I put it on safe mode and it didnt shut down or reboot. Then i did a factory reset and i only installed 2 apps. Facebook and messenger. The next day i found it at sometime during the day being turned off!!! Is it possible that either facebook or messenger being responsible for this?

Have you got installed a microsd in your phone?
A corrupted microsd can make your phone shutdown.
Sorry for my English my friend

No i dont have a micro sd at all!! What to do?
Look failures on sim card, software or some apps. In my case the problem was the micosd card.
Best regards.

What do you mean by saying "failures on sim card"? What exactly to look? As far as the apps conserned i had only installed 2 apps. Facebook and messenger. Is there any chance that android 4.4.2 might be responsible for the shutdown/reboot problems? I dont have micro sd at all.
It is just a possibility. Maybe that your sim card makes bad contact or it' not correctly placed or it's too old. Try to extract and replace it.
Of course it maybe too a software issue...

My sim card is 11 years old. I am afraid that if i sent my mobile to a samsung shop and tell them that facebook and messenger are responsible for the problems (If these are the problem) that they will say to me that nothing can be done. That this is not their fault.
I don't think that Facebook and Messenger are responsible of the reboots.
I would try to do these things:
1- Reinstall firmmware with KIES. If your device is rooted you can use ODIN too. Make a data/factory reset.
2- Extract and reinstall your old sim card an if it doesn't work buy a duplicate sim card in your phone company.
Good luck my friend.

Thank you very very much for the answers. I already re installed firmware with kies but the problem remains. I also extracted and re installed my old sim but still the same....
I will change my old sim card with a new one and i will let you know the result.
Thanks a lot again for your useful help!!!!
I hope this will help you my friend.
If it's not a software issue, a sd card or sim card issue or one app I think you should go to a technical service. Maybe it's a hardware issue but I hope it's not.
Best regards.

Hello, the problem was solved by changing the sim card?
regards,
Gabriel
(partali7) I am writing from my new account.
I changed my old sim but the problem remained. So i installed custom rom 5.1 and all are ok now!!!
Same thing was happening with my s5 mini , took it back to CPW three times they ended up giving me a new one -works perfect touch wood , still using same apps and mem card so I reckon phone was faulty .

When I insert a SIM card into my phone, it always reboots after it finds signal. So I could be in airplane mode, but when I disable it, the phone reboots just after it finds signal! This first happened on MiniCM7, then I tried GinderDX, but still the same! I have unlocked bootloader, Alfs v09a and GingerDX v028, if that matters...

I don't think that would help, because it worked perfectly even with custom kernel. I used the same ROM and kernel all the time, then suddently the SIM card rebooting problem appeared. The problem was there too with Alfs 08!
No one can help me?
Maybe its a problem with your sim card chip? It may have been corrupted or damaged. Go to a communications store and check..

Or just try using the sim card on another phone..

My SIM card is not damaged, it's the phones fault. What should I do?
Try downgrading to 2.1 all stock softwares will be restored then you can know wether it is hardware or software problem .. if it isn't solved then can be hardware problem with sim or sim slot...

How are you sure the Sim isn't damaged.. It may well work in another phone, maybe just that the x8 is highlighting that there is an issue?
Your provider will supply you another sim for free so it's easy to get that verified..
Try another sim in your phone (x8) and you'll soon find out..

I have the same problem.
insert your sim then press the power button
wait until bootanimation appears nd connect your charger to x8 when bootanimation is running.
your phone will boot safely but remember when ever you plug out your charger it will reboot again.
I'll tell you full solution.
wait for few days.

The same problem
I have the same problem Anyone have solution for that?
Same issue here. Anyone?
I don't think this is caused by my SIM card. It happens with other SIM cards too and my SIM works fine on another phone.
It does not seem to be software either because the problem still happening after flashing the stock rom with SE PC Companion.
I even bought another Xperia with the screen damaged and tried to replace the full main board but the problem still happening. After this, I tried to replace only the screen on the other phone to see if it would work, but it didn't!
Now I don't know if I bought a damaged phone with the same problem as mine or if this problem is caused by my LCD screen (that is the only part that the phones shared).
Mine is E15a with unlocked bootloader. I flashed SEMC Debrand Engine around a week before the problem happens.
The other X8 is also E15a, but it does not have unlocked bootloader (capital R) and arrived with stock ROM and full reset, so I do not know it it was "custom flashed" before.
F** weird problem!

Unlocking bootloader is restoring the sim-lock state. I'm not too sure about that. But I hope your phone is locked back :/

Yes, my X8's bootloader is unlocked. I've bought a X8 without LCD to replace my main board and this new X8'bootloader is not unlocked.
And to give you some update, I've just found out what was the problem!
The problem was with the battery. Since I replaced it, I have had NO PROBLEM AT ALL anymore!
When I wrote the last post, I forgot that the battery was also the same in both phones (just like the screen that is from my first X8).
I will try to follow this tutorial to see if can make my phone work with the old battery, but I am not very confident that it will work.
Anyway, I'll let you know if I have some news...

Hey guys
I realise after upgrading to LP (rooted, BL locked), the SD card will not mount everytime I reboot the phone. If I go to "Storage" and click Mount SD Card, it will say mounting but nothing happens.
The phone knows the card is inside, but it just doesn't mount it. The temporary fix is to eject and reinsert the SD card and all works well.
I tried searching but can't find someone with the same bizarre situation. HELP! thanks!

1. remove sd-card reboot phone and insert it. then reboot to check if it s OK or not.
2. another solution is to format sd-card (thr might be issue with sd-card)

Hey! I've got the exact same issue. My Z3C is rooted, and I'm running Lollipop 5.0.2. If I reboot my phone, it acts just as if there was no SD-card inserted. And just like you, I cannot manually "mount" it, I need to take it out and then reinsert it again.
And just like you, I have searched the web far and wide for a solution but nothing has helped.

Number 1 doesn't work.
Number 2 doesn't work.
as for number 3, I need to ask a question about this one: if I would use PC Companion to "repair" the firmware, as you suggest; would this really work when the phone is rooted?
I hope there's someone out there who might have an idea about a solution for this..

Yeah Ok, thanks. So that's really not an option then, because I would really like to keep root.
Now, a question for OP:
What firmware, exactly, are you using on your phone? I mean, which version and from where is the FTF-file? I'm wondering if the firmware version and / or region could be the cause of this problem... trying to narrow it down here...

Exactly the same issue here. After a reboot, the SD card doesn't show up in Settings->Storage or in MTP sessions (nor - I think - in apps such as Album/Music).
But it is always fully accessible from the file system, e.g. using Root Browser/ES.
The card is correctly recognised when I remove and re-insert it.
It's not a great problem as I try not to reboot my phone very often. For reference I'm using a rooted Russian .726. FW.
Funny how rooted phones are facing this

I suggest downgrading to .93 Firmware ( KK ) then flashing Global .28 ( Lollipop ) firmware using Flashtool.
But it's highly unlikely it would be a software problem as most users don't experience this but are also rooted with Locked bootloaders. Maybe its the SD Card?

Hello people,
I am trying to edit my boot animation but i cant make it happen..
first of all i tryed an app called ''Boot animation'' since i rooted my phone this seems to me the easiest way. i was looking for a funny animation i liked installed it, but when i reboot my phone it is still the standard huawei boot.
After some struggling i tried to do it an other way. i tried to search for ''Bootanimation.zip'' But i cant find it.. i looked in all places. data/local, system/media.... etc
The only thing i can find in system/media is: chargeranimation.zip
as last try i searched in my root map for: bootanimation.zip.
But still didn't find anything...
Someone can help me?
btw, im running on b609 emui 3.0
Edit: i know about the title mistake... animation*
