This is a port of RaptorRomGPE v2 to the Cricket Wireless version of the phone.
Things Not working
Camera - Updated Google Camera is not working on this rom. You can uninstall the update for it and tell it to not auto update and the rear camera will work but not the front camera.
Installation instructions
I know these are alot of steps, I am working on building this into the rom, just hitting some roadblocks with it.
If anyone knows how to fix it let me know.
1. Always make a backup
2. Wipe Dalvik, system and data
3. Install Zip
4. Wait for system to boot, be patient.
5. After phone has booted dial *#*#4636#*#*.
6. Scroll down to change the radio from LTE/CDMA (PRL) to LTE/GSM (PRL)
7. Click the back button and return to your homescreen.
8. Reboot your phone.
9. Go to Settings>More>Mobile Networks>APN.
10. Input the Cricket APN settings found here.
11. Click on the option button at top (the 3 vertical squares and hit save).
12. Make sure that the Radial button is blue.
13. You should now have Cricket LTE service.

sweet,gonna be watching this closely.
First thing first, thanks for this! I am currently running this now and it seems to be much faster than stock. The only issue other than what is in the op, is I can't send MMS. I tried more than one app from the play store and also Hangouts. It's not really a deal breaker for my and any input is always appreciated.
It is working for me. Have you double checked the APN settings?
Yeah missed one setting, working fine now, thanks again for this rom.
been more and more tempted to flash, but my girl would kill me for breaking cameras, but i may have to do it simply for the performance

Working on cameras for you guys, then I'll send to laduate to test.
I flashed this rom, followed all the steps until I got to the apn settings.... The apn option is not there. It's just not an option in Settings>More>Mobile Networks.. Any thoughts on what the problem may be?

I'm running into the same situation. My options are changing the cdma roaming between home only and automatic, and switching between nv and ruim. Thanks for all your hard work folks. It is much appreciated!
Try going back to the phone radio setting using *#*#4636#*#* and make sure it is set to LTE/GSM (PRL).

Sorry, I haven't been online in the last few days. I have restored my previous rom, but my issues were the same as jays17 and chrisdrr... i tried the radio settings multiple times, and even tried a fresh download and clean install. Same issues
So I'm still on stock so I've been looking into the camera and the libs for such, check these screenies :
https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B7axxhnwa8zqTmJUU1Q0T0QwOGM/edit
All these libs / Folder have "camera" in the name, also the two specific files showing sensor types my be interesting,so I'm soon gonna be flashing this,BUT if someone what's go be the guinea pig, tomorrow I will get all of these such libs extracted,if you can replace them in the Rom with the correct permissions and in the correct places we may be able to get cameras going, that's a extremely large maybe considering there's a HTC specific lib for the camera that we may not even be able to utilize since its aosp but it's a starting theory.
@ Anyone, check your sensor files with a text editor, tell me what they say, because the variants have different front facing ones, also they are labeled incorrect as (whichever) are the front facing sensors, they are 5 mega's...completely out of range
we need to gather as myuch info as possible from the variants
after flashing and playing around slightly,i could never get mms to work, but for anyone having problems getting the correct settings to come up,try setting the lte/gsm thing mode again after a reboot, sometimes it dosent stick,i forgot to extract the libs so ill be doing that from stock tonight and packing them up,ill have either a flashable zip or a zip with them all and ill need someone to manually replace them
I would love to give this ROM a try.
Is anyone still working on trying to get the camera to work? Not such a big loss for me, I have another phone (HTC m8 H/K) that I will take pictures with anyway. Still, it would be nice to have it all working. I'll subscribe to this thread and wait for a fix.

I'm making a attempt at it
I just backed up my system actually to an SD card, and at this very moment transferring the ROM zip to my sdcard to flash it.
I'll give it a try anyway. I'll let you know if I run into any issues, though I doubt that I will.
I appreciate you taking your time with this tiny phone.

Oops, know the solution - will upload again in 10 minutes - just popping over to the local corner shop
Sorry for the wait guys, broadband seems to be taking the mick when uploading to dev-host 50kb uploads - wtf?
This should fix it http://tinyurl.com/clvqd2o
Thank you. It's nice to see this phone finally get some attention. I'm having some issues with the Wifi and data connections on my sasktel version of this phone. The only way i can get internet is through passthrough using my computer.
Thanks for this rom, I was hoping something like this would be out there and stumbled upon it by accident
I have it installed and everything but like the above poster, I cannot connect to wifi - when I try to turn it on it just says error.
It was weird since it synced my google account and then after that would only let me connect through pass through. 4g is not working for me at all. Wifi just says error when trying to enable.
I can call/text just fine. Mobile data would be pretty key though.
You don't have 4G because the rom is based on the European RUU.
Btw, how is the performance, any noticable difference?
For all of those having trouble with the WiFi error here is the fix

Narathan is right, it's because it is the European RUU, and the EU version does not have 4G. If you can find the US RUU I'll happily make you the ROM, but unfortunately I cannot find it.
Made a development index for this device so all ROM's, kernels etc. are in one place http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29295672. Will add to the OP.

So I've been running this ROM for a few days now and I can see a noticable difference in performance!
On stock rom my phone used to be very sluggish - playing music and having a notification come up would result in stuttering and lagging during playback. Also opening, say, Whatsapp would take a good few seconds. Now everything feels very snappy with only a very minor lag when running Poweramp and a few other programs in the background.
I think when people manage to overclock this device to say, 800 Mhz, you would have a really decent phone. Not sure if you can get any higher.
Or by getting rid of Sense 4 would also work a lot I think (on my HTC Desire HD this make a world of a difference in performance).
Battery life is still very good, easilly reach the end of the day with around 50% left, but it still needs to be calibrated.
So, thumbs up and keep up the great work!
Ill give this rom a try. Thing I would like in future releases
battery percentage in status bar as an option vs battery icon
maybe shortcuts in notification bar for wifi, gps etc
no big deal if you cant or have other stuff more important.
Using apps for this currently.
Also some people may find this interesting but launcher 7 works pretty well and fast on this device. With small screen the big windows icons really help I find

I'm thinking of buying this phone (unlocked for 199 €) for my GF basically because it seems like it's one of the cheapest ICS smartphones out there.
I haven't flashed an Android phone in my life (last phone I flashed was a Motorola MPx200 ages ago) and for some reason the process of flashing an Android phone doesn't seem easy or intuitive; and although I use Linux from time to time, I'm no expert with it so... do you think that I should try to flash it so that the phone is snappier or is there high risks of me bricking it?
Just killing some of my curiosity before I get my hands on it.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: wow, I've just realized that, after 5 years from joining this forum, this is my first actual post! LOL!

There is little risk of bricking unless you do something stupid. And you won't see a remarkable improvement by flashing this ROM , you'll have to wait for really good custom kernels or AOSP ROM's

Well, taking into consideration that the CPU is quite weak, I guess any improvement is well received. Are the official ROMs also zipaligned?
Could someone provide some screenshots of the rom please.

MIUI V4.1 (2.9.21) :highfive:
I honestly take no credit for this Rom at all although I would like to give a big shout out & Thanks to everyone at XDA, Cyangenmod, and MIUI Dev team.
I, nor ANYONE else is responsible for what MAY happen to you and your phone, or anyone else and their phone.
So by moving forward to downloading you understand the risks of flashing a new ROM, and understand it's NOT anyone
else's fault except yours. . . No one put a gun to your head and said hey download and flash this now!
Code:
Installation Instructions. . .
Reboot into Recovery
Do a Nandroid Backup (optional)
[U][SIZE="3"]-[B]Wipe data/factory reset[/B]
-[B]Wipe cache partition/dalvik cashed[/B]

-Install the ROM
-reboot (as always first boot takes a bit longer)
-let sit for a few minutes
-reboot
-set up as you like
-reboot and enjoy
The Rom comes with Devil3_1.2.1_JellyBean kernel, but of course flash what ever JellyBean kernel your heart desire.
Code:

2. Low memory space in /Data? Use an app to put your apps in the /system/app folder or use to app2sd
3. BLN doesn't work properly. [FIX? Disable Screen on in sms settings]
4. EFS (IMEI ERROR EVERY BOOT) [FIX? Unknown at this time]

Yeah, see what had happen was when i first started porting it it was just for personal use so i did everything more of to my liking but I'd be happy to change things up and add/remove things. It's two things you can do as of now dealing with the DPI.
One: Download Build.prop editor from Google play, and change the DPI to 240 yourself. build.prop Editor by Nathan Campos
Two: Wait for the next update which will come with more options
Thank you for this!
Since J is dropping the miui port, this will be surely just as good!

Not sure if you or Jrongi use different sources, but restoring my desktop layout gets me a FC every single time, and we all know how much of a pain it is to setup the homescreen.
Also, stuff like the "hidden proximity" feature seem to not be present (when your proximity is hidden, like if its in your pocket, it won't let you do anything until its unhidden)

Not the ICS one.
He has a JB one as well, but is most likely going to drop support for it.

I'm guessing its because he uses miuiandroid, while you use miui.us
and I guess there are differences.

Hey there! I'm just a builder who want to share with all of you the compiled sources of Paranoid (Credits to the team for all the work and gerrit patches I've used).
It's an alpha, so it doesn't have many features:
- It has an advanced power menu with options to reboot (recovery, bootloader, reboot), screenshots, etc.
- Head-up notifications have been improve (using Hover sources I guess)
- Ambient Display has been added for our device too (replacing peek at this moment)
- Quick unlock is enabled.
- Quicksettings' tiles reorder
- Inmersion mode with tile support
- OnTheSpot is now implemented, but there isn't any example of it.
- ParanoidOTA comes with the rom, but isn't functional right now.
- Another smalls changes and improvements.
- CM12 Theme Engine
- Linked volumes and expandable volume panel
- Added a standalone File Manager
If you want to check all the new stuff of every build please visit gerrit. It works fine with TWRP and also multirom.
All the builds like build 4 or newer, will be compile from sources, without adding any feature, so they will be clean builds. I will try to get new ones every month until the team release their own ones, so enjoy them, and if you like my work, click Thanks #StayParanoid

Thanks bud!
Wooohooooo!!! It's finally coming!! :cyclops: Thanks for the build
many many MANY bugs with this...rotation does not work...even messes with rotation apps. Reboot menu only has reboot...no recovery or bootloader option. LTE 100% does not work...switch it on and loose data altogether. Rom will not flash in TWRP 2840...something about symlinks.
That's all I found before I got fed up and restored my factory backup. Seriously, thank you for taking the time to build and share this...I'm appreciative of that, believe me. This is just as far from usable for a daily rom as I've seen in a long time is all.

It's a shame that it has all this problems, but you have to remind that this is an alpha version , and for example you can find in gerrit patches for LTE that are in state of review, so if you want I can cherrypick them in next build.
About the powermenu options, you have to enable developer-settings, and there you will find an option to enable advanced reboot menu.
Finally with the build I will compile this saturday I will see what de can do to avoid the errors with the recovery, and also I will check the rotation.

About the powermenu options, you have to enable developer-settings, and there you will find an option to enable advanced reboot menu.
Finally with the build I will compile this saturday I will see what de can do to avoid the errors with the recovery, and also I will check the rotation.

Thank you. I totally understand it's a first build in early stages. I wasn't trying to beat you up...the problems could be in the source. I just wanted to let everyone know this shouldn't be expected to be a daily just yet, so they don't go in with high hopes and have them killed when all these things start going wrong. There are some builds that are definitely suitable as daily drivers as first-draft alpha builds, so it wouldn't be that surprising to find this one to be one of them, but unfortunately it's just not.

I must say that i'm running it without any problems at all.
Flashed successfully using TWRP.
Rotation is working fine.
So I would say go go go to all hesitating to update....

That's good to hear...would you please tell us what version of twrp you used? I tried 2840 and got the symlink error. I reverted back to 2820 since that's the newest I had stored on my pc and it flashed.....but with all these bugs I listed. Maybe it's not flashing properly still???
I had native rotation on and it didn't wok, so I downloaded Ultimate Rotation Control ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en ) which works fine for me on 5.0.1 factory image....it was missing several rotation options with this rom, and the only option that worked was manual, which consists of a notification widget and clicking the angle of rotation you want, in order to change it....and it locks to that position. Like I said, maybe it messed up flashing...it definitely had some real issues. I'll try again and report back

It's nearly 100% stock AOSP, from the looks of it. It doesn't have any options besides the reboot menu, that I know of.

It's almost the same as a clean aosp rom. They have fixed memory leaks, but I don't remeber anyone about the launcher.

Screenshots up soon.
Installing as we speak will update with status. This could very well be the answer to my prayers:laugh::good:
Screenies!
So far so good. Starting with a wiped phone started me out with about 3.6gb / 4gb internal storage which compared to the HTC rom is a pleasent surprise. Im on VM and all is well so far. data, voice, ect ect. not sure what else needs to be tested exactly but if i see something i will let you know.
Can you de-odex it?
I posted too soon. Cannot connect to my Moto 360. I cannot recreate the error that popped up but it was something like HTC service cannot ect something something. i wish i could have gotten a screencap of it. Still though lots of space. Snappy and I really like the included launchers. Must wait though until it supports my watch though. Thanks for the hard work man.
I'll look into it tonight. If you could get a screencap that would be really helpful.
I actually forgot I put the launchers in there, I really wasn't intending to. This thing would be under 600mb if I hadn't.
cm11?
What's different about this rom than cm11? Cameras work? signal? wifi? will this work on the boost variant?

Does this mean you had 3.6 gb available after installing? If not, how much space on internal storage do you have?
Hope this helps

It does. Flashed it myself and was sorta depressed to have 0.90gb available. Once I restored my data backup from my own modded stock rom, then proceeded to uninstall all the HTC crap still left in this Rom (a little irritating) I had LITERALLY no more space than on my own revised Rom. Seems the cap on how much space you can have on stock is just a little over 1gb if you don't install anything else. Bummer...
I also don't understand the quick settings bar if we already have a menu with the same functions in the notification bar?
Regardless I see no reason to switch back to my System backup if there's nothing to be gained or lost so I'll stick with it for now

I put the quick settings in because I took out a few widgets that did the same thing, to save space. I wanted to keep as close to stock experience as I possibly can. I also did a lot of back end editing. Removing a lot of redundancies that HTC left in. XML code that spent a lot of time going through. I hope that it feels more snappier.

I removed every widget you left in as I don't use them, though I'm sure others may be. If you don't mind me asking, where did you remove the excess "back-end" stuff? It might seem snappier, I haven't had a chance to try it out too much. I'm a super-gamer and I'll be trying out some of my more intense stuff that usually holds up pretty well with some minor performance stutters. I noticed you added pattyboi's kernel which I was initially suspecting as the cause of the issues I was having performance-wise (not happy with the idle GPU freq) but I'll leave it as is and try to report what I can. I'm a power user/proficient tester, so I should be able to notice the SUPER little things that don't mean much to others. I'll check in later
Alternate Link
Is there an alternate download link for this Rom? I'm eager to try it out as I flashed CM11 and was highly disappointed with the camera and sd card issues. The link provided only pulls up my archive viewer and won't actually download the .zip file. I'm an avid tester, and keep several backups ready, in case I mess up. I would love to help with development as much as possible. Currently running the PattyBoi kernel over stock Rom. Overall quick response, but still no true customization options, even with root. I'd to change my boot animation as well as a few other things. S-Off for this device would be huge as well.
Is it possible to install this rom on a Sprint Pre-paid version, And if i will, Will it unlock the phone to other sim cards?

Ill tell you that i actually got it much lower by booting into recovery and wiping the folders that didnt pertain to the OS. ultimately i ended up with 2.97gb/4gb. its really important that you stop it from automatically updating all your apps. and only update the ones you use. for example i think google play books is almost 20 megs... as soon as i get home from work ill get my phone out and do it again and see exactly what i did.
After breaking the forum somehow I give you a port of Parth111999 and By_Zoniks Latest Creation. SyneXOS. The Amount of Customization available in this Rom is Sick. Instructions
Boot to TWRP. Format Data "YES". Wipe everything Except for Internal and External.
Flash the Zip and Aroma will walk you through the installation.
I have not tried every possible combinations of installs. But everything I have tried has worked.
After Installer is finished, Uncheck reboot and flash Ashyx's Encryption Breaker.(May not be needed, kernel has disabled encryption, but ive never tried without it.) Reboot.
First run will take about 7 minutes.
Enjoy.
My apologies but apparently I had a key stuck or something when I posted and it duplicated a few times. Hopefully its legible now.
good work bro
So excited to try this. Thanks for the support guys! Gonna flash tomorrow morning and let you know what I think
Bluetooth setback
Edit 2: Until the kernel is updated to fix this issue I found a workaround and posted it to the main thread for the original ROM here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75811322&postcount=71
Edit: Was fool and did not look at the thread for the original ROM before posting. It is explained here. I anxiously await the next version!
First off, thank you so much for taking time to port this ROM. I am really enjoying the amazing speed of it. Very snappy compared to a couple others IMHO (Radioactive, ExOS). I can tell some love was poured into making this ROM highly usable. The only issue I'm having is a minor one, and certainly not system-breaking, but something that I use quite often.
Using bluetooth, I can pair with one audio listening device. But when I disconnect from that one and attempt to pair to a different device, bluetooth begins to turn off and then on and then off again as quickly it can manage. It continues this cycle until I happen to catch it when it is on and manually turn it off. Any further attempts to use a bluetooth connection with any device after this results in the same cycle.
Here is what I tried with no results:
Cleared the bluetooth system app cache.
Restarted in safe mode.
Wiped Dalvik cache and cache partition from recovery.
I then wiped EVERYTHING with the exception of the external SD and flashed the SyneXOS ROM, SuperSU, and ashyx. It worked when pairing the first device, then began the cycle mentioned above when attempting to pair a second.
Any tips on what else I can do to resolve this bluetooth error?
Delete please
Awesome ROM! I'm freaking in love with this.
However Bluetooth crashes, constantly
Screenshot of it crashing constantly. Bluetooth turns off n on repeatedly. I have tried the auto connect app and the other which name evades me. Nothing works, the Bluetooth app constantly crashes and switched on and off until I freeze the Bluetooth app in titanium backup. Any ideas? I cannot connect anything.

Hey there! You can workaround this issue by following my guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/how-to/fix-bluetooth-crashing-nougat-7-0-t3763029
No fix yet, that I know of anyway.

I appreciate it @ziggyjustice. I've already tried this. Unfortunately if I unfreeze my Bluetooth app and try using the Bluetooth pair and autoconnect apps, I still have issues with the Bluetooth app anr constantly. Bluetooth is completely unusable for me. I've fresh installed this Rom 4 or 5 times, each time was completely in vain.

Good work man
Thanks bro very nice
I gave this rom a shot and couldn't make calls from inside my house even with basically full bars. and before you ask yes I did a clean install and followed the instructions to the letter. :l
Hmmm this was my daily driver for 2 weeks and I had no problem out in the sticks. Did the ROM give you a no Sim error. Or it just would not make the call?

hey bro, you do not plan to carry any of the ROMs in nougat 7.1.1 of the other variants such as the DNA rom
I don't know if duck wants to, I was going to, then I realized no one gives a **** so what is the point.I release updates and new builds and no one even notices or hits the thanks button. I'm gunna open a thread that explains the thanks is how this works.smh.so if someone maybe specifically asks, then maybe but at this point I am done with everything J7.there is no appreciation in the j7 forums. So u guys figure it out.
I agree with you regarding to create a thread explaining the thanks mechanism.
But you should not say 'no one', i think that here we are some of us that hit the button for real.
So ... if in any way helps ... thank's you again for your great work... Im ... really hope to you continues doing it.
I think if there only one in the millions of users that hit thank's ... it worth it

I agree, but the people I'm referring to are the ones that email and talk about bugs but post no logs, hit no thanks and are completely oblivious. I have seen u hit thanks and I appreciate it..I posted an update to Nova a month ago cuz people were asking and those same people didn't say anything. So yes, I stand corrected, some hit thanks and to you guys, thank you.. to the rest, get with it man.
I really appreciate your guy's work. I love taking risks to potentially ****ing up my phone lol! Always seems like you guys are always working on this phone to give everyone something new. And if I ever needed help you Fullofhell and metabolic were always willing to help. I for one always hit that thanks even if I don't use the Rom. Bc if it weren't for you guys we'd all have a boring ass crappy j7. Thanks and thanks again.

After flashing back and forth about 100 times I think I dropped my phone 1 too many times and that's what the issue was
Ugh, life has been so chaotic for me lately. I haven't had time to get anything tested for months. The Bluetooth issue, I think I solved it. It seems weird but I think it's the dpi that breaks Bluetooth. After a fresh install, choosing stick dpi at the end, Installing open gapps, and titanium back up. I installed easy doing changer, set it to 240 with padding of 4% on the sides and 0% on the top and bottom. It set. And then I turned on Bluetooth for the first time, it turned on without the constant crash. Weird, right??? Just some food for thought. Unless some already figured out the Bluetooth issue. Thank you @fullofhell and @mr.duck254
