Hi, I followed the guide to install CWM and it seemed to go fine, but when I power on the phone and tap the vol-down key nothing happens, I do get the vibrations as I'm doing it though. Is CWM really necessary to install a custom rom? Cos I might just skip it.
You can't flash a custom rom without cwm recovery.

O lol, I guess I need to solve this then. I thought I just used FlashTool to flash the rom and viola, rom is on.
Does anyone have any ideas what I might be able to try to figure out why CWM isn't working? Any way to see if CWM is actually on my phone? (Maybe it's just not there, rather then not working).
Edit: Rom Manager seems to think I have CWM installed, also I did a Nandroid Backup which seemed to be configured to use CWM so I don't know if it's there or not, or working or not
Which guide did you follow? And how did you make a Nandroid Backup?
I followed this guide.
I downloaded Nandroid Backup Root, it created the backup without rebooting the phone, so it never needed to boot into CWM.

That's what I thought. The fact that it can create a backup doesn't mean it has a recovery installed, it doesn't use a recovery to create it. If the LED is lighting up at boot, and it is vibrating, and it doesn't get back in, I don't know what the problem would be. I'd try reinstalling CWM, and FYI, you should use V8; V9 has issues.
At the very least, if it really is installed, you should have a "recovery.tar" and "chargemon" file in /system/bin/.

I don't have those files so CWM is not installed. I can't find v8 of CWM for Xperia T but I found this file "CWM4XperiaT_v8i_JB.zip", is that it?

It clearly says "Xperia T" in the name of that file... yes, that's it. Now I'm wondering what you installed, if you didn't install that one, or V9.

V8 works perfectly, it's installed fine.
I am going to follow this guide to install cyanogenmod, do I need to obtain a bootloader unlock code? Or should I just skip right to installing the ROM?
Edit: Oops forgot the link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_mint

First of all, yes, you need an unlocked bootloader. You can't flash custom kernels on a locked bootloader. Secondly, I've never tried that tutorial (I have a TX), but I'm assuming it should work fine, but, personally I'd either go with FXP, or one of the OMNI builds here in XDA, since, as far as I know, developers here have more fixes than what I've seen on FXP and/or CM.
Also, there are a easier ways to flash your ROM, since you already have a custom ROM. I don't think it's necessary to have to fastboot the kernel first.
Edit: The Carbon ROM I'm on also has a T version. The reason I'm on this ROM (and previously OMNI) was because FXP/CM roms have/had a battery drain that was never fixed, something that was fixed here on XDA.

There's a problem My bootloader is not unlockable... does this mean I've been wasting my time?
Edit: There is this guide, it makes no mention of unlocking the bootloader so it might work?

No, that tutorial won't work. Never follow a guide for flashing ROMs that wasn't meant for your phone. Your phone didn't even exist yet when that guide was written.
If you can't unlock your bootloader then there is no way you'll ever be able to flash a custom ROM, because, like I mentioned earlier, custom ROMs have custom kernels, and custom kernels need an unlocked bootloader.
I wouldn't consider it a waste, it's always useful to have a recovery installed; with it you can at the very least backup and restore, flash deodexed/zipaligned stock ROMs, such as this one, flash files, and even have access to ADB if your phone doesn't boot up, which can save you from having to wipe everything, etc., so not a complete waste of time.

Ok, well, I learned a bit in the process, and I still have an Xperia SP bootloader to unlock, then flash cyanogenmod, so I'm in a better position to handle that now, thanks for all the help guys.
i have deleted my OS and now im stuck with cynemod(witch i hate) can anyone post a link for images when avaiable or extract a system.img from the phone.
Many thanks
decisionif it will work in other devices.
it seems it might take a while until ROMs are available so i decided to send my phone to HTC to put the system back on.
Ill do a TWRP backup first thing and share but not sure it will work in other devices.
If anybody knows out to extract the ROM, please post it here.
thank you

How about a quick "how-to" for the rest of us. TWRP, root etc. if used, or at least how you went about flashing the stock ?

according to a search in Google its not possible to be retail and have a demo because its 2 different ROMS.
you can use TWRP to wipe everything Data, Dalvik and System.
Then use the backup.
This are tips so please use at your own risk.

dont know what to say to that, however, you can try this:
http://repo.xposed.info/
install framework (use flash mode) and look for module BootManager. You can choose witch apps will run at system start. Disable demo app.
Make sure you follow all instructions and good luck.
let us know how it goes.

Depends on which TWRP you are using.
The one from suhas.holla seems to have some problems while adrianom claims to have fixed it.
just use this one - https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B0AbMwIJ-N7xM25CdjlQOUl2Qlk/edit
It's the previous version. This one is relatively bugless except it only backs up to external sd

What about GAPPS is it 64bit version?
Are we downloading for LEO?
Jeez to many questions, just think someone might mess up.

Is there no improvements from 6.5.1.0 version?
Also how do I flash twrp on my phone? Do I need root?
Thanks

http://en.miui.com/thread-118114-1-1.html
I just flashed this rom and i can confirm that it works well here in the uk on the ee 4g network no problems for me and very happy with this phone
Are there any instructions on how to install it?
I found TWRP, but need root to install it which i don't have.
Just boot to TWRP first via fasboot by using fastboot boot twrp.img command,
Then flash supersu,
After u got root access, install flashify and flash twrp
Is French included in this ROM? Probably not...
Will my apps be in French anyway or will it go like the UI?
Hi - I tried installing the most recent stable version for the Note Pro (xiaomi.eu_multi_leo_V6.6.3.0.LXHCNCF_v6-5.0) and it was completely unusable. Lots of system processes failing etc. Has everyone else had this experience or am I doing something wrong? I installed initially through TWRP, then also tried through MiRecovery.
Just got the phone and really liking it, but very keen to get it working more like a UK phone! Great to see there's people working on this!!!

It works fine for me in UK, full wipe in TWRP? You said first with TWRP and then Mi, did you reflash original recovery. I always find that after flashing a new rom I have to reflash GAPPS or I get the problems you describe.
I had been unsure if the 'Wipe All' would also scrub the ROM zip file, so did not do this first time.
This time I did wipe everything, which also resulted in the ROM zip file being deleted.
Managed to sideload it and everything is now working! Many thanks for the suggestion. And for future, should I be wiping everything, or is there a way to avoid the sideload?
Thanks

Like I said just reflash google apps no need for full wipe, use TWRP, keep a copy of GAPPS on your phone along with the rom so wiping won't be a problem should you need too.
Finally I unlocked bootloader and put my first UBL rom, but I've "lost" recoveries (I had twrp/philz/touch).
The question is: should I flash a kernel with recoveries (which is best/working for ResurrectionRemix?) or there is an adb installer for recoveries as the one for LBL?
Sorry for the over-asked question, but I don't want soft brick my first and working ubl :cyclops:
*edit*
The rom itself, only has the CM recovery, but I'm not very sure I can apply the rom update or take a nandroid backup with that.

Flash this via Cyanogen Recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...-twrp-f2fs-support-xperia-sp-huashan-t3150230
This will grant you persisting TWRP recovery without needing to flash any other custom kernel. And it works even on a custom kernel too, don't worry
Apply ROM update is possible if the zip is signed and recognised by the CM recovery.. But nandroid backup? Impossible

Probably, but in the "old" LBL version of the rom, with selinux permissive the wifi worked (it seems to give wrong addresses in dhcp/dns area).
There was a .zip fix also, but I think is no good for the new version xD
