When you get that message it means you don't have a stock kernel. Try flashing this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...pment/kernel-bioshock-1-5-dec-4-2014-t2962744 in recovery, then wipe cache-dalvik.

When you finish installing, power off phone, pull battery for atleast 20 minutes, then power it up. It should boot. The phone is getting hot. Known problem in that thread addressed countless times.

I would try another rom and get a little bit of practice using odin and twrp and the basics before dealing with this or any other port rom.. Read the thread and see what has worked for some but not others. Make a efs backup before anything else.

A bunch of guys are having problems because they dont read or follow instructions. Every fix for every minor bug has been gone over in intense detail countless times. I had everything marked and followed the instructions to the letter on vision US rom. Its as flawless as can be. If someone cant figure it out, its a very easy install, they shouldnt be rooting their phone.

What you actually tried to do initially was slap a GB Rom on top of the ICS one. That is not a done thing.
What you do when coming down from ICS is
1. flash Abyss
2. wipe everything, including your arse, to eliminate all ICS traces from your future GB
3. flash GB
No wonder you got stuck at boot.

[SOLVED] [Q] Stuck on AROMA installer

Hello folks...

then, this latest CM version came with so many issues and bugs (( freezes and gives me an error from everything all the time)) then I decided (( in less of 24 hours of use)) to flash another ROM.... so my journey begins...
I decided to flash the Miui to try it, then I got stuck on AROMA installer....

Thanks!
well...
tried Emma and SUS, and none of them help me because the CM is installed..... any help guys??
Thanks!
Simply.
If something went wrong restore your backup (which you didn't make I think) and as last option download stock Rom and flash it with flashtool.
There is plenty of tutorial how to do it on YouTube.

If someone got stuck on this same situation.... i solved this with a simple solution..... follow these simple steps
- regardless your phone.... download a stock rom with any kind of modifications at all... try to download right from your manufacturer a clean one...
- flash it, following the steps as recommended BY YOUR manufacturer...
- after the flashing... turn on your device and use it a little bit....
- turn it off and flash the rom you want as recommended by the dev...
that's it!!! enjoy again your phone! =)
cheers =)

SM-N920W8 ROOT not in the list

Hi guys, first time poster here, I was on this thread
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/development/dev-pre-root-firmware-twrp-testing-t3183877
and it said on it that the model SM-N920W8 was supported for the spaceX kernel.
Once I clicked on this link
Code:
http://samfirm.net/post/129813196562/spacex-kernel-note5-s6e-plus
I dont see the SM-N920W8 model in the list of Supported devices status, unless he forgot to put it I don't see it and I doubt its the SM-N9208 cuz this one is a dual I think.
So did someone actually use it for SM-N920W8 and it worked with no issues? Mine is the rogers version in Canada.
thnx

Hi and welcome,
If you follow the download link for "all N920", pretty sure that's the file you need:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=39339
SpaceX-Kernel-v0.1_N920W8(official).tar.md5 ; should be flashed with Odin.
Also, remember that this root method will trip the Knox flag permanently (Void warranty).
EDIT: I actually did not tested it. Someone else could confirm, although I feel quite confident.
While I can verify the above kernel works on my W8 (Rogers), I cannot seem to shake the issue of random reboots.. At least once a day the phone will reboot on its own, and almost every phone call, the phone will reboot a couple of minutes in.
I love having a rooted device but the compromise of stability is making me consider going back to factory stock... Using the 0.1, 0.2, and noble kernels have all yielded the same symptoms. Anyone have a suggestion?

Well thnx for the heads-up... I thought that the spaceX was supposed to fix the random reboots..guess not. I will be waiting then for a stable Kernel.

The random reboot fix is an image file 920T/W8 released October 09, 2015

Hello where did you get the kernel to root the note 5 canadian version or how do you do it thank you
I've been told my SkyHigh SM-N920T kernel works with SM-N920W8. You can find it on the T-Mobile Note 5 original android development forum.
Please give us a link of those files!

Seriously? I learned reading and not asking step by step instructions. Come on man. Do some research.
Alright no instructions needed. Like others I have tried all the kernels for note 5 and found random reboot issues. You are saying you have no issue with that whatsoever. That's why can you please give me the link of those files?

I don't know what version you have, I got the N920W8... Here is what I did, hope that helps.
*NOTE* N920TW8 is the N920W8 version combined with N920T version. They are basically identical. Just in case you were wondering where the N920W8 is since you will only find N920TW8 in the list, go here
Code:

Read about it a bit then go here

grab that file above and flash it with philZ recovery (that's what I did)
you can grab philZ from the same link of the kernel, either the MD5 if you are using odin or the zip if you will flash.
and that's it! I had no issues on my phone at all, I installed WANAM's xposed and all is good.

Understandable and logical, but honestly still not recommended! Just informing, that's all . Imagine if every thread here was posted in triplicate...it would be harder than it already is to find anything at all! Still, hope someone is able to help you get it sorted out asap.[emoji106]
