Hi Devs,
I am using India Stock ROM for galaxy, is it good to install the customized ROMS if yes then why samsung release ROMS as epr regio specific.
I am sure this is related to signal strength of every country telecom provider,
but in that how can rely on customized ROMS.
Apart of this when even I am installing latest rocket ROM (19_1)or criskelo ROM v 3, my stucks in boot loop and if i am installing it over other ROM my screen wil come up but Not able to call and my signal stremght become very week and closes the application with force.
Could anyone let me know which ROM is best for Indian users, i have the firmware KL3
One more query when ever I am installing the STOCK ROM from ODIN in first time it will got hung while coming up. then i have to do FAactoy reset to make it up, this is vert weired , is anyone faces the issue ?

I don't think it makes any difference which custom rom you use.
I used to have rocket. Tried darky for like a day or two. Now I am on Checkrom. Never had any problem with any of them.
It is always recommended to do a back up of all your apps and data with something like titanium and do a complete wipe before installing any new rom.
I personally use CWM for installing new roms. I am guessing that you have rooted your phone?
Could you let me know the best ROM to use which gives me very good theme and good battery life.
Hello Guys I guess most of you must be aware of the wi fi error problem, there is a video below to describe the problem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItgPmVz_wz4
I have searched the forum such posts but I haven't got the solution till now,i have googled it many times but found nothing.
The only solution I know now is to restart the phone and dial *#*#526#*#*(which also works only sometimes)
Does anyone know any permanent solution for this ?
Anyone ?
well i had the same problem on my ace. I tried many solutions, but none helped.
this is not a problem with hardware, but with the stock ROM. I got rid of this bug after flashing any custom rom (that supports wi fi of course)
I'm not saying that this is the only way to manage this problem, but thats how i did it.
Try doing a full wipe of the phone and re-flash the ROM.
Austin 3:16 says "I just whooped your ass". Sent from my Cooper running Gingerbread MIUI.
Well guys did everything nothing helped, so i flashed stocklite 7.1 using it since 2 days no problem so far, battery life is amazing, atleast way better than the stock roms
Thread can be closed now
wifi error prevails with the stock roms. I have used many custom roms and that bug doesnt happen. Its the problem with the stock rom. Heard it is the problem with india rom from one of my friend. May be u can try with other region firmwire and check.
Hi, I am using a CM 10.2 based rom and I am having several problems. My wifi doesn't work, even after a clean flash. Is there a fix for that, what should I do ?
Is this issue only with cm10.2? Try other rom and check whether problem persists

Hello,
I'm a newbie on rom flashing etc...
and recently I tried to update my Galaxy Note N7000 using this ROM : cm-10.2-20131108-NIGHTLY-n7000
and the wifi started to get crazy.
I experienced connexion issue.
WIFI was disconnected sudently, then I tried to revert to Stable version of Cyanogen mod 10.1
but wifi was off.
I tried to flash using different stock rom :
N7000XXLT9_N7000XXLT3_N7000OXXLT3
N7000XXLTA_N7000XXLT4_N7000VD2LT4
N7000XXLSZ_N7000XEFLS4_XEF
N7000XXLC1_N7000OXALC1_OXA
N7000XXLRI_N7000XEFLP2_XEF
and sometimes I don't knwo why or how the wifi cams back (not always even installing the same stock rom), but with connexion issues.
using this sequence I can get wifi connexion sometimes...
install :
1 - N7000XXLSZ_N7000XEFLS4_XEF
2 - philz kernel LSZ
3 - N7000XXLTA_N7000XXLT4_N7000VD2LT4
4 - Philz Kernel LTA
5 - XEU-N7000XXLT9-20130611091825
5 - Philz Kernel LT9
6 - Rom Radio XXLSC
7 - Kernel : speedmod-kernel-n7000-jb-k5-5-CWM
sometimes the wifi is not recognized, and the mac address is empty.
I'm bit lost, and I would like to know how to revert to a stable situation.
maybe this is due to the kernel.
I'm using Philz kernels aligned with the rom.
Hello,
back after many hours spent yesterday evening playing with different ROMs, Kernels.
in fact I'm currently using my phone as a tablet, without SIM card in it.
and it seems mandatory at least once to put a valid sim card in it.
I tried to put a valid SIM card with 3G data connexion,
no issue with the wifi during 3hours.
shutdown thephone
then remove the SIM and power on the Phone
miracle the phone connect on the wifi without issue!
so it is good to know that SAMSUNG Galaxy note requires at least once to connect on mobile data network.
Hey there, just sold my S4 for an S3 i9305 4G.
The ROM works great, except for the camera app crashing on launch.
When I dial *#34971539# all it says is CameraFirmware Standard, so I can't get the specific model of the camera hardware.
On Alliance ROM i was able to get the camera working, by flashing a stock kernel, going into the camera app, then flashing any custom
kernel and it worked from then on.
Unfortunately, The Galaxy Project is my ROM of choice, because it seems less buggy, but when I try the same trick, the ROM won't boot
with stock kernels...
How do I get the camera to work?
Help!!
i installed that ROM...for me didn't boot at all....(did full wipe and waited about 10 min)...
if you read the 2nd post from that kernel...CLICK HERE you will see that the developer says clearly that there is a bug with camera... and as you can see he lists there "Possible solutions"....those are not guaranteed to work...wait for him to find the bug...
i use OMNI ROM....camera works perfectly...
These solutions ARE guaranteed to work I have the same problem, so I just copied my SlimISP to external memory and use it if the bug occurs.
Can anyone help me with this.
All the other versions of the J7 Prime (G610F & G610M) have recieved 7.0 Nougart update 6 months ago.
My phone is pretty much the same underneath as the rest of these, No my phone is not carrier locked.
I'm not the only one having this issue, there are a lot of people in the Philippines, Pakistan and here in New Zealand who are wanting this update and cant get it.
Samsung wont tell me anything no matter how much I ask their help desk and support team
I feel like as a customer I deserve to at least know why I haven't got this update but the rest of the world has, and not get continuously told to turn auto updates on when its already on.
Same device bro
Bro, i am a Y variant and i'm on PH. We don't have a choice but to install custom rom to taste the nougat android. Just root your phone, install TWRP then install custom rom like NovaOS or Lineage OS 15.1 for J7 Prime. Just search it and you can find it.
Same issue here...just installed Xenos Rom and its more than enough for me with the features....there are other roms as well
same ;(
Ah, those lazy Samsung coding teams...
My condolences, but you can always install the ROM closest to stock.

I actually downloaded their Nougat based stock rom and flashed it using ODIN. No problems so far... it's just that you won't be able to use their country specific apps which I think is not a big deal.

There are no specific apps for Philippines G610Y except when you purchase through a Telco where settings like boot screen / default web pages all point to the Telco. Flashing Aussie Official G610Y ROM should be fine. In fact this should be a good base to create a custom ROM as it may contain updated drivers and the like.
I been running the Nougat Note FE XenOS v.1.1 without any problem so i dont need to worry bout waiting for an update from OTA

One minor problem I have encountered so far now is whenever I switch to 3G/2G on network mode, it doesn't survive the reboot. It reverts nback to 2G/3G/LTE mode. Other than that the Stock ROm is stable so far. Battery life is incredible.

Need to troubleshoot 1x1. First, I noticed you are using Oxygen kernel. It could probably be an incompatibility with this one.
Another, which I can think of is incompatibility of CSC part if you didnt change your original.

It was still present when I was still using the stock kernel. About the CSC though I have no idea. But maybe you're right because I flashed the original CSC tar.md5 file that came straight from the stock Aussie Nougat ROM. I don't know how I can change it. (Perhaps flash the stock CSC from MM?)

I checked my csc if it changed , and yes it was changed together with xenos. So it might be something else. But then there are CSCs which are not multi CSCs. So i could be wrong.
Edit: ok i did some googling. CSC doesnt affect network selection its the baseband part. You can install phone info samsung to check what versions you are in.

Just tried flashing the old MM modem.bin Seems to work like a charm. Although the network mode still reverts the 2G/3G/4G mode, I'm getting consistent 2G signals now and no more signal drops. I just use 4G whenever I use the phone outside where there is no wifi or when I use Navigation apps like Waze. I assume it'll get the 4G/LTE signal when the signal is strong enough.

That still puzzles me as well. No matter how many reboots I do it just doesn't want to stick to 2G/3G mode.

Can you kindly guide me on how to flash modem.bin? I flashed NZ Nougat stock ROM on PH-bought G610Y and I'm having problem switching network mode when using dual sim. If I disable sim 2 I have no problem. But when both sims are enabled I can't swith sim 1 from 2G only to 4G/3G/2G. Switching doesn't do anything. It's stuck in 2G only.
Do I simply flash the file that starts with "CP"?
Update: I went ahead and flashed the CP file from Marshmallow and problem is fixed. Thanks for the tip!

I am experiencing problems with the new facebook app on XenOS v.1.1 FB is important for me because I need it for work. So, I decided to flash the New Zealand Nougat G610Y. Here are the steps I took for successful installation official nougat on Philippine based phone:
1. I flashed latest XTC G610Y MM so all partitions contain XTC (Philippines) based settings/customizations (BL / AP / CP / CSC)
2. I flashed G610YZTU1BRC3 Nougat (BL / AP) only which means CP/CSC remains XTC (xtc is multi CSC)
3. after step 2 finishes flashing from ODIN, it will encounter an error, but it will go to recovery mode
4. at recovery mode, I simply reboot the system and enjoyed a fresh copy of Nougat
I did not encounter any problem with network selection and tested rebooting it as well. Hope that helps your problem.
Please Assist me on this (i mean step by step instructions..)
