just received 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA T800 - Galaxy Tab S General

Notice of download from Samsung, installed by itself after ok. Seems much faster and screen more responsive.

Pictures please.

Thanks for the pictures that confirm my message above. Mine is unrooted stock, not like my lg g2 and nexus 7, so that is why I received the OTA .. Much faster and screen more responsive, big difference.

Camera Lag getting annoying!

I'm not sure if it's become worse recently or if it's always been as bad, but the delay between clicking the shutter and a photo actually being taken is ages!
Anyone else find this? My sister's iPhone takes a sharp pic the moment the button is pressed (I know this is one of the big deals that is made about them!)
It takes even longer when flash is on

The lag is especially in v20b but like its been said only beta... update is around the corner, lets hope that this will be fixed
I'm on v10h - Was the v20 beta a manual download? Much point in it?

Everything works pretty well, install like any other KDZ but please note it takes a different method to back to ICS, you can find all the tutorials in general section. Wipe data if coming from ICS

Looking Forward for S6 Update

Just and update on our update...
Looks like we might be expecting it in June for those of you who are patiently waiting everyday sitting by the computer waiting for some news... LOL
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s6-edge-android-5-1-update-607950/
Check it out, so far from related websites that I have been looking up, June is hopefully the special month.
I figured we were close after that edge 5.1.1 leak. This is good news but it's sad that even though tmobile is obviously in the testing phase for at least the s6 edge, they don't have it listed for any phase on their update page.

Yea, true.. I hate that it takes so long because in the end the user experience is what suffers. Hopefully this fix some batt stats and memory usage tho.

I can't wait, personally. My experience has been abysmal considering the heat this phone is packing, hardware wise. RAM management problems galore. Like if you took my N5 pre-5.1 and turned it up to 11. The most infuriating part is the keyboard getting killed halfway through typing in a search, or having my music stop in the middle of a song.

yeah, this is the worst android experience ive ever had. 5.0.2 on the s6 is terrible. i have never seen such unresponsive clicks, slow loading times, blank start up screens, slow keyboard in all of my prior phones (my m7 is definitely faster than this phone for daily use). I blame google. Not sure how much blame should be placed on TW or T-mo. but its ridiculous.
Did any of you come from 5.0 on the s5? This is a night and difference over the S5. Though I certainly wouldn't complain about my S6 and Moto 360 both seeing 5.1.1 at the same time, right now it is kind of like a race.

Lags and stutters on my Note 4 after Lollipop

My N4 is from Singapore and I updated it to Lollipop 5.0.1 due to OTA update that was always in my face. Since then, the phone experiences lags and stutters a lot to the point where it will be unresponsive for 5 seconds and above.
also, i have very terrible data connection. sometimes the data arrows move but my app does not load. chrome also lags and hangs intermittently.
i have reformatted and cleared cache via recovery. any ideas what i can do to help fix the phone? I am running stock unrooted Note 4. any help will be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I prefer not to root at this point as I want to be able to keep my warranty status intact. Plus xposed on lollipop doesnt seem to have much apps for me so sticking to stock unrooted.
I've been having this problem too, tried custom ROMs and tweaks, things improved but not that much

I flashed Kitkat back after Lollipop 5.0.1
I decide that I will not update my Note 4 any more ........... unless one day .......... there will be a better stable firmware.
I don't care about Lollipop .............. Lollipop is the most faulty Android version ............ keep away from Lollipop
Maybe we should wait for Android M in 2016

will test out and see how that goes. otherwise i will let go of it and use the oneplus till note 5/next phone gets released.
ive never had any stutterings or lags whatsoever..im stock
I tried package disabler (yes, I know it costs money), disabled around 40 (non-essential) packages and my note is as smooth as when I first bought it on KitKat.

Please could you export and post this list of packages that you have disabled? I didn't know Package Disabler was a thing - sounds like exactly what I'm after!

Now the package disabler app got colour code for bloatware
Nope, seems to be yet another placebo fix.
Same for my N916S, the stutters and delays annoy me so much, hard to believe it's a stock rom, it probably happens to S5 5.0 as well
But unfortunately, no kitkat for me, my variant is shipped with lollipop out of the box, sign
Factory reset always helps after an OTA update. I had N910F, the European version snapdragon and just few weeks ago replaced it with N910C, UAE version which has exynos chips. I find N910C lags way less. Infact, no lag at all. It came with lollipop installed then I flashed stock Poland firmware as they had the latest.
Everything is working great! Using Google launcher. Hate Samsung's folders and I find Google now one swipe away much more convenient.

The new update definitely has made improvements.
My phone is a bit faster now. Don't heat up as much. But what other changes did the update make? Can't find any patch notes.
The phone is usable now with it plugged in. No laggy touchscreen. It's the phone it should have been four months ago.

I'm confused... my phone worked while plugged in before. Your phone was completely useless while charging?
Improvement on touch response and phone seems to run a bit more smoothly.
I assume this is NOT for those that are on custom recovery (TWRP) and root ... I got the pop up for the update (thought I blocked the ota app ... DOH) but of course am in a "wait and see mode" right now.
I see that this question is already asked in the other update thread Apologies ... lol

Some have issues with their touchscreen, some have weird power issues. For example, my phone has weird lock screen issues when plugged in.

Interesting. I would have thought that would be a hardware issue.
After the ota to 10n today the new slo-mo camera feature doesn't record in slow motion, but the touch screen is much improved and phone is faster.
edit: nvm you have to use the "videos" app within the native LG gallery app to see it play back in slo-mo....great update!!
I just updated my phone to this version, and yes the touch screen is more responsive than before, but i also notice the battery is drain a bit.

I got it official, I am registered as a pilot tester and I get early updates, official updates.
At the moment it is uploading, 4.5gb so please bare with me. I'll share once ready.
Been using it the last 4 hours, it is really great so far. In about 2 hours I'll use games and see again how it will be. But generally speaking, way better than MIUI13 13.6 global.

How did you update manually?
I am new with this equipment and it has been 2 years since I flashed cell phones. Mine is also Chinese with global ROM
What is the correct way to install it? Wait OTA or how?
OTA , local update file.
To do this go to the update window, and keep pressing on miui logo for about 5 to 10 times. You'll get a message saying additional features added. Then press the 3 dots and choose (choose update package). Should start updating immediately after you go to the ota file downloaded to your device.
If you get any errors for any reason, relocate the file to the following directory ( download - downloaded_rom) and put your file there.

at first, i thought the same, but after a day of using it, way better and faster than before.
Some stuff have been fixed.
For instance when you changed the DPI in MIUI 13, a reboot would reset it (which frankly is a pain...)
Now on MIUI 14 it sticks after reboot
Dark mode seems a bit better implemented as well.
I agree that everything feels slightly snappier (But it was already too notch anyway)
Was considering upgrading to the 13 Ultra or Honor Magic 5 Pro but I am less eager now...

The latest snapdragons are faster, but unless you're gaming it's doubtful you'll feel it in everyday usage.
Battery life likely a bit better and that you would see it.
What I care the most about is the camera. I have a feeling that it's been significantly improved since the phone was released (No idea id MIUI 14 improves it further, too early to tell). Unfortunately DXO doesn't retest later during the phone life so it's hard to tell if the newest phone are actually over performing significantly in that department (Sensors haven't improved much and the software seem to be what makes most of the difference)
