[Q] Multirom app - Android One (First-Generation) Cross-Device Genera

could anyone port multirom app for android one device.it would be great if possible for switching with different custom roms and ubuntu .touch

It's not the app that needs to be ported, the WHOLE MultiROM system needs to be ported
and no, just by porting the app WON'T make the device able to multiboot ROMs (or run Ubuntu Touch, that NEED a lot of work).

[Q] CM Framework compiled

Hi, first of all I hope this is the right place for this if not please close/move and tell me the right place to ask.
I am planning to improve the CM-FM app for our N1s, it works but there is a lot of room for improvement (named stations, autosearch, overriding national limits...).
The problem is that I am working on a Windows machine and the FM app needs the modified CM framework classes to compile, it seems there is no option to compile the full CM distribution under Windows.
But it shouldn't be too difficult given the CM framework compiled to use it with android-SDK and eclipse to build just the app.
So I ask here if someone can provide me the compiled classes.
It would be great to have them published with the nightlies, but as I don't think there would be a lot of changes in this part probably I can work with an outdated version for some time.
Why don't you use a virtual machine with Linux for this?
Of course that's a last resource but surely there are people out there that can provide this classes from their last compilations without problems and maybe this can help other developers also.
You'd probably want to be able to compile CM anyway so just installing Ubuntu 64bit in Virtualbox will work fine and is free. Make sure to enable Hardware Virtualization in your BIOS if your CPU supports it.
I do want to compile CM just the radio app, otherwise I would have installed a linux.

Why so stubborn? It literally takes less than a few hours to install, download sources, and compile your classes. Instead, you'd rather post here, and sit in waiting for who-knows-how-long to get an answer?
Not flaming, just trying to follow your thought process...

create kitkat starting from 4.4 system image build by Intel?

Hi! I was thinking in these days, studying (at elementary level) Unix o.s. for an exam, if it could be possible to merge the 4.4 version with our 4.1.
I mean, 4.1 has drivers, and other stuffs made by moto, and 4.4 has new framework and new kernel basically built for atom based x86 systems. So. If we adapt the new kernel at our phone (I've seen something similar was already done here in xda) and merge old drivers and stuffs with new framework, could it work?
[If I've just said ****, you are free to ignore me and delete the post]
There is some progress being made here. Take a look.
Porting over the framework might be possible. But the difference between the versions are more in the shared library's. We can't get art or sound working without building/modifying the library's. The framework is just what you see, it is the core of android that's has changed the most.

[MOD] MultiROM (sharing kernel)

I found the bug with not isolating kernel in additional roms after posting multirom here. Unfortunately I havent solved it yet. I decided to not delele this project because the rest of this works. This is useful who want to have similar rom in on tab. For example to test apps. Sorry for inconvience.
this is beta release. for p900 only.
I'll write full instruction later. For full description see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011403
I'm not sure that everything is stable, so I dont publish source code. I dont want to distribute buggy sources. thanks for understanding.
for stock firmware only. for now. use stock frimware as primary. you can flash cm as additional.
Installation:
1. https://yadi.sk/d/RVXpEgc6c4GKo - this is modded recovery. flash via odin
2. https://yadi.sk/d/CHl8wTYYc4GMZ - patched kernel. (patched my 1.3 pro kernel)
https://yadi.sk/d/D2riVhEgc4GPP - multirom main program
flash through modded recovery patched kernel and multirom.
uninstallation:
https://yadi.sk/d/jc4uxZeCc4GRb - flash this uninstaller through recovery, then flash original twrp
known issues:
- 1920x1200 resolution in twrp
- in List Roms installed roms dont shown
- in multirom boot menu touchscreen downt work. use buttons (vol-,vol+,power)
multirom apk from play store doesnt support this release.

Anyway, great initiative.

@bonuzzz,
nice to see you here. Actually I bought this high end class tablet because of its specifations and over standarts. Still is the most powerful tablet in market.. But somehow it always lacked development and support of developers. Recently maybe the price is dropped so it started make owners smile little bit.
I was almost giong to change it, but still there is no powerful alternate..
I would like to be a tester of multiboot. because I would love to see ubuntu desktop in this tablet.
Thank you!

I was still hoping to get the minor issues resolved, notably the issue with Rom's installer are not shown in the installed ROM's section.
Any possibility of porting this to Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)? The hardware is almost exactly identical. Really like your work, keep it up!

Do you mean the first (pre multirom install ) flashed rom kernal is the only kernal that boots regardless of the chosen rom, is multirom a separate bootloder that is chainloaded by the original bootloader? Does multirom have a config file describing the various kernals with different filenames if so can it be manually edited? Does multirom mount emulated system partition images or are their actual multiple prexisting system partions in the mbr that multirom can choose from ? What would quilify as similar roms, stock and omni are they similar enouph ?

I dont recommend to use this multirom because it has the bug with sharing kernel. So you need to use similar roms as primary and as additional. I dont have an idea how to solve it at this moment.

Deodexed rom meaning you have a zenfone 2 stock deodexded rom? Do you have a link to it or the rom is private?
You should add screenshots.. :good:

sooo much repo'ing to get AOSP before the compiling even begins. There's gotta be a better way for them to maintain the repository. :/
Edit:
After downloading around 40 gigs of files from AOSP, won't compile on our phones. Looks like build tools are only 64-bit and the Debian Jessie chroot I'm using on the phone isn't allowing the 64-bit tools to execute. Our kernel reports that it IS in fact x86_64, but I can't seem to find the phone's /lib64 directory to map to the chroot. So, something that could be fun is now a huge headache -- may need to put together a pc just to build this kernel & hope I still have enough bandwidth from my ISP to repo another 40 gigs.

It's already several years ago Android build tools migrated to x64-only. So, you cannot build Android (even 32bit version) on x32 machine.
Zenfone 2 kernel is 64bit. But Android itself is 32bit. You still can start 64bit binaries if you want. I'm using 64bit busybox and some other utilities I've made.
I didn't try to compile Zf2 kernel yet because there is no unlocked bootloader exist, so you simply can't boot your own kernel.
I was able to apt-get lib64 on debian jessie ( was called libc6-amd64 ) & that moved things along until the assembler refused to load libz.so. No amount of looking around helped figure that one out since libz.so did exist.
This is just something fun to do while waiting for the unlocked bootloader. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to just compile your own kernel on your phone?
Compilation requires a lot of typing in command line. I cannot imagine doing this on phone. It's simply crazy. I'm not even talking about time needed for compilation.
I'm using PC (with linux VM) to compile everything.

Yes, i've compiled many binaries already.
Of course it's possible to develop for ZF2. There is ASUS Nexsus Player (fugu) device in CM12 repository which is basically very close to ZE550/ZE551. So, there is already a lot of code in Cyanogenmod. But, i prefer stock ROM anyway.

Plasma Mobile: Linux-based smartphone operating system
07/25/2015*at*10:14 AM*by*Brad Linder*27 Comments
There’s a new player in the smartphone operating system*space: the folks behind the KDE desktop environment for Linux-based desktop computers have just unveiled*Plasma Mobile.

Plasma Mobile is basically a mobile version of the desktop Plasma user interface. It’s free and open source software, and while there aren’t any phones that ship with Plasma Phone OS, you can download andinstall the software on a Google Nexus 5using the same tools you would use to install Ubuntu Touch.
The software is based on*the Kubuntu operating system with an Android graphics driver, the kwin/Wayland display server. Plasma Mobile isn’t tied to Kubuntu though — it should work with other operating systems. The Nexus 5/Kubuntu software is just a reference implementation that makes it relatively easy for anyone to test the software.
The software can handle typical smartphone functions, including phone calls, notifications, a customizable app launcher, and more.
There’s also support for KDE Plasma widgets, and eventually the goal is to offer a “convergence” experience that will allow you to run desktop apps on your mobile phone. While that might not make a lot of sense when you’re using a 5 inch screen, it could come in handy when you connect your phone to an external display.
If you’ve used the desktop version of KDE Plasma, you’ve basically used 90 percent of the code that can now run on smartphones. The difference is that the mobile version uses a new shell/workspace designed for smartphones. That’s where you get the app launcher, settings, task switcher, and other features.
So what can you actually do with Plasma Phone OS? In addition to Plasma apps, the software currently supports apps developed for Ubuntu smartphones, devices running Jolla’s Sailfish OS, and eventually there are plans to support Android appwith Ubuntu …*[Read More...]

How to install Plasma Mobile with MultiROM
MultiROM is useful for installing multiple ROM's on your android device, more information can be found on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...tore/apps/details?id=com.tassadar.multirommgr
Tested devices
(If you test it with another devices please add it in following list)
LG Nexus 5 (hammerhead)
Prerequisites
This guide assumes that you have kernel_kexec patch applied as mentioned in above links. You can skip installing MultiROM manager application and TWRP recovery for now. (Keep reading)
Install patched MultiROM manager
Currently MultiROM manager hard codes the image server to system-image.tasemnice.eu, However thanks to user @sedrubal on Github, MultiROM Manager is patched to use kubuntu.plasma-mobile.org instead of system-image.tasemnice.eu server.
Download APK from*https://user.fablab.fau.de/~ev80uhys/multirommgr/*and install it using adb.
adb install «Path to com.tassadar.multirommgr.debug.apk»
Install Patched TWRP MultiROM recovery
MultiROM manager uses the patched TWRP recovery to finalize the installation of the operating systems. This recovery uses PGP keys to verify the Ubuntu touch images. However current recovery only have keys for the*http://system-image.tasemnice.eu*and*http://system-image.ubports.com. So it also requires patching*: Required patch is*:https://github.com/Tasssadar/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/pull/16/
Since this is not merged yet, I have uploaded patched version athttps://share.kde.org/index.php/s/OIgNSGoymLRyahg
Download it and flash it with fastboot.
adb reboot bootloader fastboot flash recovery «path to twrp-kubuntu-keys-final.img»
Finally install the Plasma Phone
Reboot to normal Android, open MultiROM manager installed in earlier step. In the Ubuntu Card, select devel or devel-proposed and click on install..
It will take while to download. After download is over, it will reboot to recovery, in recovery it will make real installation process, so drink a coffee meanwhile..*
After that it is done installing it will reboot. Before android logo is shown it will ask you to choose from Internal or utouch_devel, Select utouch_devel to boot into your plasma.
