Does anyone else's stock Sony Camera App shut down automatically when no buttons are pressed after 30 seconds? I just want to make sure this is a battery saving feature and not a bug.
Running 4.4.4 KitKat on the latest .77 firmware for the U.S.A.
yup, definitely a power saving feature, had it on all my xperia phones

Doesn't seem to be much in here about problems with the camera. The editing function quite regularly locks up - and for reasons beyond me they keep the results of edits in a separate folder with no apparent way to change this. Also if you install Google Googles it crashes. Has anyone come across this?
Google Goggles working absolutely fine on my camera.
And as for problems, I haven't encountered any yet.

No problems here!!!!
Just wonder if anyone else encounter this issue.
I switch my SGC off (by pressing the power button) and put it in the case. A few hours later when I try to switch on by pressing the per button, there is no response until I press and hold the power button then the display turns on. However it shows the startup pictures and then a message stating sd card had been found and if I want to change the location to sd card etc. It seem that the camera had been rebooted. Anyone faces this issue? Is it got to do with me switching of 3G?

Same thing happens to me. The power issue I think happens because of a auto-shutdown feature of the camera, if you pay attention, you will hear the power off sound when you leave the camera on (screen off) for a while. The SD card issue I thnik happens every time the camera shuts down and is turned back on.

In the power panel in settings there is a setting for auto power off and for a fast power on feature. What you've experienced is both of those features in action.
action freeze
Hey I would like to ask for you folks if your galaxy camera works well in action freeze. Mine was very dark when using action freeze. Every stock non rooted galaxy camera. Thank you very much.
Hey guys, I just updated my C6903 to 14.1.G.2.257 last night, I have an Australian stock model.
I noticed this problem yesterday, but if I press the power button to turn on screen it takes about 2-3 seconds for it to turn on. This is consistent behaviour, happens all the time except for when the screen is turned on around 5 seconds from the last turn off.
I have turned stamina mode on and off, auto brightness on and off, and it didn't seem to do anything. I have also done a factory reset too and the problem is still there.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I haven't seen this problem but you might want to try a factory reset.

I did that and the problem persisted.
However it seems like I might have solved it... the problem is now reduced a lot - it turns on immediately most of the time. I have a feeling this might be tied to the temperature of the phone, as yesterday and today I was setting up/playing with camera, etc.
Will continue testing and see what happens.

Similar issue. I had this on my galaxy note 2 as well. It turned out there that it was just a thing with exynos 4 quad where it took a little bit to get out of deep sleep. I assumed it's a similar thing with the snapdragon 800, but maybe it's actually a bug. It would be nice if it were.

Mine takes max 1 full second to turn on at the longest if not its normally instant
disable "auto kill when screenoff" in your task killer app.

Its happens often that the phone hangs and once the screen doesn't turn on, sometimes pressing the power button for long turns on the screen and there is a message of usually whatsapp or Facebook or systemui not responding. Is there anyway to resolve this? I have factory reset and used sus to repair often.phone is rooted with stock rom 205.
try flash another faster, better rom like existenz ultra 4
and use SpeedyDroid to rip some unnecessary feature on your phone
Hello.
I have a problem with my Sony Xperia Z. When I use it (browse internet or just stay in launcher) sometimes it randomly turn screen on and off. Happens also when screen is off and lockscreen is showing out of nowhere. I tried to disable power button and set volume up as my power button but even with using volume up it still happens. What can I do?

Seems like some app is running in the background and turning on and off your screen. There are two ways to go about it but I would like to know if you are rooted or not. because it would only work on rooted devices.
look for Greenify in Google Play and how to use it.
Secondly , check this app. it will tell you which app is waking it up.

I hope this is enough, however, if you need any further assistance, make sure you quote me for an answer.
Good Luck
I'm on stock android S4 Active I9295. Since official Samsung upgrade to lollipop 5.0.1 the function and setting has disappeared to be able to use volume button to switch on torch when screen is off. Does anybody have a way to get it working again? Would very much appreciate if anybody can help. Made different searches but couldn't find anybody else mention this problem or solution.
This has been removed from Android Lollipop
It still works on mine, also official lollipop. Although when it times out and you it's 'up volume' again it doesn't turn on unless you turn the screen on and off.
Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.
