Hi. It is just me?
The camera works fine sometimes . When I film so it always works but when I take photos the camera goes very slow like 10 FPS or someting . Why ? Its there an issues with this phone?

i just bought GS I9000, its with 2.3.3, i see the camera has lag, when i click it takes around 2 seconds to capture, it annoying and the picture quality is not good at all, its so bad than my 2MP iphone 2g camera
its okay to have a screen collapse like iphone 2g, but the lag looks horrible
could some one tell if we can fix using a custom ROM, will the vodoo lag fix help on this, or if older firmware was better, so that i can switch back to that
i really need to use this for taking many pics and mail them, (child pics) so everytime i take a pic either its distorted or lagged
please help with your suggestions
Hi guys. Recently I've noticed a bad camera problem with my IncS. You see when I open the camera app ( on MIUI's ROM ) it lags pretty badly. When I point the camera at one direction, and move to another, it lags. But if I repeatedly click my menu softkey button while moving my camera around, it doesnt lag at all. Does anyone know a fix to this? Thanks in advance!
oh and I restored back to the original ROM I had running which was the official htc's latest rom for the IncS and the camera works fine. no lag issues. Seems like when I flash AOSP roms, the camera lags. help?
I find any AOSP rom has laggy camera in low light
When I take it to better lighting conditions the lag goes away

I think it has something to do with trying to take in as much light as possible when there is not enough
@markj338 yeah I actually thought that that might be a possible reason to its horrible lag, so I took it outside this afternoon at around 12pm. It was bright but still the lag was there. And just to be clear, its no ordinary lag. It's like if i point at one place, it shows that place, but when I move my camera away, it waits for around 10 seconds before it shows that place. If you get what I'm trying to say here.. Sorry for the horrible english. But yeah.. that's the problem :/ thanks anyway appreciate it.
Oh mine only lags a bit
When I move, the image will be slow and distorted and will take its time to focus
But not 10 secs, mine is like less than 1, its just choppy and distorted

Mine could probably be classified as 'ordinary lag'
Like if you were using a crappy low range phone
What rom are you using, and does this happen in all lighting conditions?
@markj338 well right now im back on my sense rom. the official one. I restored. But I tried miui's rom, cm7.2 and the camera's the same. When I click the menu button repeatedly, then it's ok. but if i dont click anything, it lags a lot....... so yea

But I do find the sense camera to be the best
My camera takes 2-3 seconds to take a picture, and it's quite often out of focus too.
This has always been a problem for me on Cyanogen 7, and also Slim ICS 4.2 (both CM9 kernel and Semaphore).
Anyone know what the cause might be? I can't find much on google/xda about slow GT-I9000 cameras.
I don't remember the stock ROMs ever being that slow.

the problem of the slow autofocus is caused by the camera (hardware) and i noticed, that it take ages to focus, when you try to make a picture in the dark. I read that the Valuepack has a faster autofocus but now i flashed the valuepack and its as slow as it is on any other rom. I think this problem can't be solved so far...
I don't know if it is very common or not but I have been facing a lot of camera lag. It takes some time whenever I open the camera app although photos are clicked without lag.
Apart from that, whenever I have to share a photo through WhatsApp and go to camera to click the picture, the lag seems much higher and a few times phone hanged and restarted too.
Is it an issue with WhatsApp or maybe after the kitkat update the Camera performance is still not upto mark.
yeah... i've been facing this same issue... but .... to take regular photos.. if i try to shoot any photo takes 10... 15 seconds or to open the camera or to take the photo.... i will try to flash a custom rom today and see if this issue remains....
im facing the same issues since 4.4..... sometimes i think i should go back to 4.2.2 because that was the best room till now

I'm trying new super slow mo features but i cani record only 3 sec videos... 1 sec before slowmo(normal Speed), 1 sec of slowmo (6sec dilatated) and anoter 1 sec after slowmo (normal speed).
Where is the multi super slow motion?
How can i record a video of only 3 seconds?!?
Is my fault or is very unusable?

Yes, it seems the ported feature only allows short video. They shouldn't have implemented anything, this is useless

I also have problem as i got the new update.while every thing is fine with camera only super slow motion has problem. Whenever i tap the record button immediately recording get stopped and it save 1 sec video at gallery that is playable and super slow.i tried cleaning data cash for camera app also factory reset.but problem is same as before.
It's due to Samsung I think. The thing is you can shoot only a short time at 960 fps and that's all.
Samsung limits it voluntary.
I think you guys are misunderstanding this a little, there's a new camera mode called Super Slow Motion, which films very high framerate for a very short time. We still have the normal slow motion mode, which as far as I can tell is still dropping frames, way to go Samsung.
Time to sell up and change brand again...
