First of all many thanks to everyone at XDA for such an impressive support and development site. This is my first post here.
I recently move from the iPhone 4S to the Galaxy Note and it's just impressive... Apart from the camera which sometimes can take a few seconds to load. My son is coming close to being 11 months and has started walking with support from couch and such. It is thus at moments like this that I really need a quick snap.
Can anyone kindly suggest an alternate camera app which is quick to launch and to take multiple pictures in rapid succession. Please note that this is not in burst mode but having the capability to take pictures immediately. This phone is an absolute powerhouse and I'm absolutely certain that there must be an app which will fit the bill.
Once again many thanks.
at market you can find "Fast Burst Camera" it takes really fast photos, but picture quality isnt so amazing. Also you can try "Camera zoom fx"
The camera zoom DC app is a keeper. Thanks for the pointers. Cheers.

what is this camera zoom DC app, can not find it!! there is only camera zoom FX app
Hi guys
This is probably a real dumb question but you'll have to forgive me as I'm a noob to android.
Is it likely that the Galaxy III camera app will get ported to the note? They are both 8 megapixel cameras, but I"m wondering whether there is a hardware difference or not?
If not, would it be theoretically possible to port the scrummy new Camera app with burst mode to the Note? Because that would be sweet!
Or am I asking something ridiculous?!
kind regards
Robsa
ETA: Ok, sorry fellas I finally found a post where this has come up and apparently hardware differences are likely. Pity!
Why not just use Camera Zoom FX or another camera app in the Play Store?
There are apps that offer burst mode, but with Note's camera they don't work so well. But if you're thinking of SIII's 0-lag shutter burst mode - than no, it's a hardware feature.

Please post questions in the Q&A section
Is there no way to enable burst shots in the default camera app? Since the best pictures usually come a second after taking the first - when the terror of having your picture taken is over and people have relaxed. Not having to switch apps would be a bonus.
It'd be great to see this working with the full res the Gnote offers

Not possible, and needs different hardware for true burst operation.

Hello! I'm planning to get this phone this November but I'm worried about the front-facing camera. It's VGA, yes. Kinda sucks but can someone please upload samples? Like outdoor and indoor? I've been digging the internet for 2 days now and I can't see any front-facing camera samples. Thank you so much! I'd really appreciate it.
On the website of Gsmarena.com you can find camera samples there.
Link to help you futher: http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=1&idPhone1=5364&idPhone2=5363&idPhone3=5375
However the front camera is not present in their test which is stange..'
But from my experience I can tell that it is not the best one but decent for videocalling etc.

If it's decent for videocalling, I think it'll do. Thank you!
Hello Good evening
just signed up to the site today and have a question regards to RAW on the nexus 6 XT 1100 (please go easy on me as im not sure if this is the correct forum to ask )
Been along galaxy s4 s5 user and just bought my nexus 6 because of the screen size and the ability to shoot raw also folk have really raved the reviews of this phone being one of the best there is even now
my question is i want to use the stock phones camera app to shoot RAW but read it wasnt enabled and there is no feature on the current version so i have to use camera FV-5 to have the RAW images
my phone is running 7.0 and still no RAW feature in the stock app
is there a way of updating the stock app camera so RAW becomes available or do i still need to rely on 3rd party apps from the play store ?
im not understanding the mechanics of phones nor know how to install APKs so if anyone would be so kind help me out here with answers or instruction how to install whatever it is i need to get RAW working in the stock camera app it would be very much appreciated
thanks you guys
You'll need to rely on third party apps to be able to shoot in RAW. Currently Google Camera does not support RAW, though there are indications in the Android Police teardown of the version 3.2 APK that Google is leaning in the direction of supporting it in the future.
Snap camera is also a promising camera app, and it supports raw capture too.
I don't spend money on apps, to be honest, BUT Manual Camera is one of the 4 apps I have ever bought. I believe it gives great control and is easy to work with. You can try it out, it supports RAW shooting as well.

Second the recommendation for Manual Camera
Im my opinion GCAM pictures are way better. The only cameras exynos can use gcam is front main and ultrawide. There is much more detail in the main gcam camera. I wonder the difference with the other lenses
That's completely up to Samsung. If more people are interested, they need to go into the Samsung Members app and voice their opinions. Don't actually say it's for GCam though obviously. The trick is to demand RAW access for all cameras since right now only RAW for main and ultra wide are available.
For example: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S21/please-allow-all-cameras-on-pro-mode/td-p/1718372
Yes Gcam pictures are better than stock

Isn't that for the US market? Let's organize and pump the EXYNOS forum full of posts on the matter, so they may actually see a large number of people asking for it and possibly listen?

My particular example was because I'm in the US haha. I would guess that if you make a post on Members, it'll take you to whichever region you're in. You can then share the links too and others can like/comment on it. I'm just mainly saying we should do it on Samsung's official forums since while some Samsung employees do occasionally check XDA, it's pretty rare.

Any changes on setting u use ? , can u provide your settings SS
Does Gcam lets you access portrait mode?
Since the last software update the x3 optical lens on the S21 U has become my favourite lens to shoot from. Its essentially a nifty fifty with f stop down to below 1.4 thanks to the computational photography magic.
I persume Gcam lets you do similar bokeh?

Not really, Gcam needs to see a person in the shot to give you the bokeh...

lol maybe Samsung people do read XDA. After sharing that link (which was posted on Samsung Members almost 2 months ago), a Samsung moderator finally tagged it as a feature request the day after!
I've tried the Gcam for the S21 Ultra, and I even find the overall colors on the Gcam pictures better, but it doesn't even support the full hardware with my SD888.
If you're looking to improve a single photo, you're better off using Lightroom or something like it, you'll get better results if you're willing to put a little effort. If you want to just shoot anything and have it look good, you're **** out of luck, maybe consider an iPhone, I'm sure they have a forum around somewhere.

RAW Support for all cameras (inc.Telephoto not only main/ultra.w) on S21, S21 Ultra Exynos
The Samsung S21 series is an amazing flagship phone featured in 2021. It's great in many aspects. Though I think there are issues. The issue is that I don't think that we are getting the most out of this great hardware. Us owners of the S21 are...

From what I have found seeing post in this forum, it's all about color correction where gcam is good, in that case I would rather fiddle with it myself in ligthroom, once you get used to it, it's a piece of cake, this is what I got from my s21ultra

It's actually not haha. Stock cam does well with man made things with flat, smooth surfaces like buildings and cars. It struggles with nature sometimes though, especially the 10x telephoto. Adding contrast and sharpening is easy, removing it is hard.
