i rooted my milestone a few months ago (g.o.t.) and recently i tried to install the shadowsmod gingerbread rom onto it. when i restart the phone it stuck at the Motorola boot logo (M). i can enter recovery mode and do a factory reset but the problem still remains. maybe i just have to flash the stock sbf to fix the issue but the problem is that my battery is almost deplete and that the phone wont charge itself so if i enter the bootloader it'll say: battery Low cannot Program. please help me, i searched hours long for solutions but nothing worked.
Thanks in advance
Srinath
Have you done a nandroid backup? If so, you must be able to nandroid restore the Milestone, if you still have some batery left. It is usually pretty quick the restore. And if done correctly, your "stone" will be back. Next time flash the phone only when you have a fully charged battery. That would be what I would do.
Hope it helps.
YESS thank you ! i am so stupid : i DID do a nandroid backup but for some reason i forgot it! it works it really works! thanks alot your a lifesaver
Glad I could help . But you went lucky. As soon as I send the reply I though to myself, if the flash is done through .sbfs it must erase the open recovery partition. So, no nandroid restore option. But I guess you where trying to flash the roms from within the open recovery itself. So that way i believe the open recovery partition still remais untoutched. Not shure though.
Anyway, it still worked. And that´s the most important thing.
See you around.
normally if you have this problem after install a new rom, you just need to clear the cache / dalvik cache and it'll fix it
i have the same problem but i installed a rom with Droid 2 recovery bootstrap. before flashing i maked a nandroid backup but i cant get acces to restore. anyone can help me?
just reflash stock firmware. i have Droid2 Global and haved same problem but, reflashed stock firmware, root and after install bootstrap recovery, worked for me. may be helped you?
What i did before installing a custom rom:
I rooted my phone using superoneclick method.
Then installed xrecovery V0.1. (with busybox and charm*something)
Made a backup of the original room using Xrecovery
How did i install the custom roms and what happend:
Renamde gingerxd v13 to update.zip and place it on sdcard.
Wiped cache and factory reset(fullwipe).
Install update.zip with Xrecovery.
(after my first attemp failed, i tried to wipe cache and factory reset after installing the room too)
Reboot phone.
Phone goes into reboot loop. First sony ericsoon, then the logo of whatever custom room i'm trying to install.
I tried the MiniCM7-2.0.7 (source)
Then i tought, what if i downloader a back from another phone? i got Floyo 2.2.5 (source)
Restoring this backup too got me into a reboot loop.
Final question(and probably the supidest one if the answer is yes)
Do i need to unlock the bootloader to install a custom room? The guides i used didn't mention it at all, and since it may brick my device beyong xrecovery's help i'd like a straight answer before attempting it.
I tried to make this post as clear as possible and maybe someone can point out if im missing something.
Very important thing: Did your baseband end with 015? If no, that's why you are having these problems.
And no, you don't need to unlock the Bootloader to install Custom Roms.
It ends in 006. Thanks ill be reading on flashing a baseband and report back. PCcompanion says my phone is up do date so i'll be using this. If you have a better alternative let me know.
^^
Edit: Is there a way to configure pcc to make the update for me? Like say im from another country were the update is available?
Use Flashtool, go here
Thanks Chris95X8. my phone is now running 2.3.5 gingerdx rom. everything works. The only thing that's driving me nuts is the notification i get when i lose signal. Any way to fix this?
Sadly it didnt work for me... I have tried out flashing basebands but it wont work. still looping around. makes me crazy.

Are you sure that you flashed the right baseband?
If you have, maybe try to boot phone without the SD card in it..
I tried to install the AllianceROM_KK_v1, didn't know the ROM was a little more than 1.2GB, but my computer probably somehow shut the download to less than 700MB thinking it was downloaded completely. But when on safestrap, I didnt make any backup and just tried to flash it after factory resetting it. Obviously, it didn't sucessfully flashed it and now boot loop. Can installed the safestrap apk right from the recovery thing, I can't seem to get on the safestrap recovery. Can someone please help me soon as possible.

You're going to have to do the MLG restore. See the link in my signature for info on how to do it and links to where you can get the stuff you'll need.
If you don't want to attempt the MLG restore, you'll have to go the the Samsung Experience Center at your local Best Buy and have them reflash it for you.
thankz man. I am working on it now. It's already 2:39 AM here now. real late. any way, thank you bro for the awesome prompt answer.
Well, not a singlle answer after so many views for days, but thank God it doesn't matter anymore, I was able to force the solution for th issue anyways! Issue resolved, if you have updated to 5.0.2 and have rooted your device before or after causing it to lose WiFi, please check out my solution for this issue here, it may very well prove to be your definitive solution. Thanks!

Installing the 5.0.2 OTA while rooted completely and utterly broke my WiFi. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get Wifi to work again. In the end I gave up, and just did a full factory reset from recovery. My recovery version btw is TWRP 2.8.3, and after installing the ZIP ROM update from the first post of this thread TWRP stayed, I didn't have to install it again. So anyways, I let it boot up and then rebooted back to recovery to root on recovery exit, which caused bootloops for a little while until I used Power+VolDown to go back into recovery and installed the SuperSU 2.45 zip from there. NO MORE PROBLEMS! It's just, PERFECT!!! Finally, no more long waits while booting looking at the logo, no more bootloops, and most importantly: by only using the recovery zips to root and never trying to root from the system or allowing it try to update SuperSU from the Play Store, NO WIFI ISSUES, from the very start all is just perfectly functioning, soooo smooth and really fast! FINALLY!!!!!! Really happy here, so remember, for XT1064 TWRP 2.8.3.0, and SuperSU 2.45 should really do the trick. Good Luck!

And here's the link to the actual thread that has the appropriate 5.0.2 Stock ROM flashable ZIP file:

So the case was I reset my device, and later after i flashed a ROM into my device, it does not boot. Instead, it goes into TWRP recovery. And it goes to TWRP every time i boot my device.
I have done this for so many times and I cannot even know what is going wrong this time. I am quite frustrated and I did googled a lot but it did not solve my problem. So, I want to know if anyone else encounter similar problem and solution towards it.
I tried:
1. Wipe the dalvik cache.
2. Remove the battery for half an hour
3. Reflash the twrp
Any efforts and reply is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Mine's exactly the same, I factory reset so I could pass the phone on; and now it will not install custom roms, I've tried about 7 or 8, and it will only boot into twrp 3.0.2-5. Soft brick, but I'm unable to find any solution.
Here's hoping someone will come and help.
I think I'll have to reinstall twrp by connecting the phone to the computer, but I've no idea how to do this.

Exactly the same issue here too, installed lineage 14.1, was working great, I was selling to a friend, did a factory reset, now stuck at twrp, roms install etc, but after a reset, every time straight back to TWRP.
Looks like I might need to flash back to stock somehow.
But I did find this, but not yet tried.

As slifer225 mentioned you can downgrade to stock firmware by installing the stock MM rom s433 version using spftools.
Download and Install stock MM rom using spftools.
Here is the link- https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cco5/JYk3ytrW1
For further info follow this post- https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-...3#post71749243
Follow this step by step guide to go back to unrooted stock rom. If you want to root after that then try installing custom recovery(twrp) again using spftools and flash supersu.zip using recovery. Do take a backup though before rooting your device.

Everything is working perfectly as I myself had gone through the same issue and did everything to fix the problem until I downgraded back to stock. Did root on my device again and installed lineage 7.1.1 and it works like a charm. One thing I love about this rom is the efficient ram management, lag free but battery management is not upto the mark but I guess we can work it out.
Whatever you do never forget taking a backup of functional rom.
Yes, I can confirm the solution worked for me, I left it with stock rom for my friend, I tried lineage 14.1 and did a factory reset, but ended once again with softbrick , lineage will install and work perfectly, but as soon as you do a factory reset, soft brick
Now I've hard bricked it. I loaded up a 'looprecovery' when it rebooted there's nothing, no charge light no vibrations PC doesn't see it, land fill?
Wondering...

I think that solution only works on Snapdragons. It didn't for me. Is there a solution for MTK devices?
the solution for this(FIX)
all we need to do is reinstall a stock recovery and the again reinstall the TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/general/ufficial-thread-lenovo-k3-note-t3102997
follow this link..my phone just got fixed
My phone TWRP-looped many times. The solution is actually easy.
1. Reflash using SPFlashtool ONLY the stock recovery
2. boot into stock recovery
3. choose english > press reboot phone
4. phone will reboot into rom without problemos
5. reflash TWRP
cheers
or
1. Copy stock recovery.img into sdcard
2. In twrp, select Install and navigate to where you put stock recovery.img
3. Press install image. Then, Select recovery.img. Slide to install
4. boot into stock recovery
5. choose english > press reboot phone
6. phone will reboot into rom without problemos
7. reflash TWRP
DONE
Infinity loop recovery

hI MY FRIEND , you have been able to fix your K3 note, I have the same problem, I made twrp flash and went into infinite loop. Can you help? thank you
I smashed it and put it in the bin. I think once you can't get a charge light after tyring for a couple of week, it's dead.
Not working for Lenovo K3 Note.
My K3 note stuck in the twrp recovery after factory reset from the RR. I tried this solution but it didn't work.
Please help.
