Here're the official links for Cherry Mobile One H940:
For fastboot flashable images:
Builds Available: LBY29G, LMY47O
Download: here
For OTAs:
Build: LBY29G -> LMY47O
Android Version: 5.1 (Beta) -> 5.1 Official
Download: here
Flashing Instructions:
A. Using ADB sideload (for recovery flashable update zips):
1.) Flash stock recovery.
2.) Boot to stock recovery.
3.) Perform up + power button to show menu.
4.) Select Apply update from ADB.
5.) Install ADB drivers if on Windows and not yet installed.
6.) Open cmd prompt.
7.) Change directory to where you downloaded the update zip.
8.) Issue cmd: adb sideload <update.zip filename>
9.) Wait until completed.
10.) Select reboot.
B. Using fastboot:
1.) Boot into bootloader.
2.) Flash image using fastboot flash <partition name> <image filename>.img command.
3.) Reboot using fastboot reboot command.
C. Using DD (for flashing images like system.img):
1.) Boot into custom recovery. (you could use fastboot boot custom-recovery.img so that you don't overwrite your existing one)
2.) Push image file to /sdcard using adb push command. (you might have to mount the sdcard partition before doing this)
3.) Open an ADB command shell.
4.) Go to /sdcard.
5.) Find the system partition by issuing a cat /proc/partitions command. It should be the one sized exactly 1GB (1,024,000 shown).
6.) Use dd if=/sdcard/<image filename>.img of=/dev/block/<name of partition> .
7.) Reboot either using custom recovery or just issuing an adb reboot after exiting from ADB command shell.
do you have another working file for LMY47O system.img? i'm getting a fastboot flash fail (chunk unkown) error. thanks
Reuploading now. Might be a bad upload from my end. Will post updated hashes later for the system.img.

Uploaded. If it still fails, you might have to use dd to restore. Odd that it fails now when it was fine before. :/
OTA Flashing Error
Hello. I would like to ask why I cannot flash the OTA Update for CM1. I am currently on LBY29G, rooted, unlocked bootloader and stock recovery. Thanks.

Go back to stock boot. Since you're rooted, I'm assuming your boot has been modified to be insecure.

Ok By going back to "stock boot," does this mean I have to re-lock the bootloader? I believe that I have only used the ALL-IN ONE TOOL in this thread to do the 3 things mentioned above, and also installed Lucky Patcher, Greenify, Busybox (Free) and Ad-Away in relation to root access, so I am not 100% sure by what you mean. Thanks again.

No you don't need to relock the bootloader. You just need to flash stock boot partition. This is usually replaced when rooting.

I see. Very weid. Might be some form of protection now for the system partition. I'll just take it down now so that no one else uses it.

Still, it should be foolproof. I already checked and double-checked the system image I uploaded and it's mountable in Linux so it should restore correctly like the previous LBY image. I can't think of any other reason aside from some sort of protection that would disallow flashing of the system image through both fastboot and dd.
*On second thought, I'm reupping the image. I just flashed it using dd on my device and it works perfectly.
success, was running a windows 7 virtual machine in OSX. it must have been a protection, you are right...ran it using OSX instead (stupid me, why i didn't use it in the first place for fastboot).

Need help in Flashing the Stock Recovery.
Hi Guys,
I need help in flashing the stock recovery.
I've used the ALL-IN-ONE TOOL to unlock my phone's bootloader, flash the PhilZ Touch Customer recovery and Root my CM1
[http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro.../tool-master-tool-unlock-bootloader-t2997696]
However I'm unsuccessful flashing the stock recovery from the ALL-IN-ONE TOOL so I can update my phone's software to Android 5.1.1.
Can I flash the stock recovery using one of the files here? If yes, can someone please teach me how.
Thanks in advance!
OTG
Hi,
Just a quick question, after flashing using this ROM, will CM One support OTG? Or do I need to root the phone first? Is there a way to add support for OTG?
Pardon me if this may not be much related to the topic.

This does work to upgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 and there was no data/setting loss. I am running Verizon, developer phone, rooted, with xposed. Here are the directions I used:
1. disable Xposed - I just went to the app and uninstalled it
2. boot into bootloader/fastboot - connect your computer to the phone via USB. Then push the down volume and power at the same time. This will take you to the bootloader/fastboot
3. flash stock recovery (fastboot flash recovery yourfilename.img) - to do this (and to flash stock system) you need the motorola fastboot files and you will need to use the command prompt on the PC. for directions and download for the fastboot files check out this link - http://www.addictivetips.com/android/root-moto-x-install-cwm-recovery-complete-guide/ To actually download the stock recovery and stock system files you can download them here (look for 4.4.2 verizon - http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=0. I actually pasted the recovery.img/stock.img files into the windows fastboot folder and accessed CMD prompt from there to flash them. I flashed recovery then moved onto stock. I did not reboot until both were done.
4. flash stock system (fastboot flash system yourfilename.img)
5. reboot (stay in the CMD prompt and type - fastboot reboot)
6. update via OTA
7. reboot
You are now stock unrooted 4.4.4, so just re-apply root the same way you did the first time:
1. boot into bootloader/fastboot - you should be able to follow the directions from above to do this now
2. flash custom recovery - you should be able to follow the directions from above to do this now. Note that I tried CWM and it didnt work until I used TWRP. - download the latest version here and stick in the same fastboot folder you were using above - http://teamw.in/project/twrp2
3. boot to recovery - make sure you do this from the bootloader/fastboot screen. To do it, press down until you get to recovery then up to actually select it. I kept pressing power to select which doesnt actually select it.
4. flash SuperSU - this should be on your phone from the first time you rooted. If doing a new root you will need to get it first.
5. reboot
6. re-enable Xposed - i just reinstalled it and all of my settings were back
7. reboot
- BAM you are done!

Multiple reports all over the forum say YES. (must flash stock recovery back, FIRST -- OR just use the FXZ and don't worry about having to flash stock recovery...)
Also, to the OP: questions belong in Q&A, not General. See the 2nd Sticky post at the top of the General forum....please post in the correct forums in the future...
I have a vzw DE
I took the 4.4.4 FXZ file from the other thread and just flashed it, no prep, didn't disable xposed.I was flashing in fastboot, not recovery, so its not checking for intact files. Then had to twrp/root and re-enable xposed.
But if you want to take the OTA then your procedure would be good.

There is no difference whatsoever between an unlocked dev edition and any other unlocked X. The ONLY difference is the dev edition keeps its warranty when you unlock.

How about the latest version from the official source? Here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/ghost
It will root for you. Just flash w/fastboot, then "fastboot reboot-bootloader", then VOL DOWN to RECOVERY, and VOL UP to select it. When you go to exit, it will offer to install SuperSU Installer. Once booted, launch SuperSU Installer, and select Play Store method.

No, you should be the guinea pig for all of us.
I can confirm that this works. I did it. I did not lose any data. It took about 20 minutes total. I already had everything installed otherwise you are looking at about 45 minutes.
The only reason to flash stock system.img before taking an OTA is if you made so many changes to system files you can't remember them to undo them. i.e. you modified your system so much that flashing system.img is the fastest way back to stock so it passes the validation checks of the OTA.
I thought there is an Xposed disabler (in the xposed thread) that you can run rather than uninstalling?
That being said.. this information has been the same for EVERY OTA Update. You have to flash stock recovery for the OTA to install, and your system can't be modified too much or it will fail the validation checks built into the OTA.zip. (i.e. there is a manifest file that checks for specific files and their check sums before it will flash the ota).
IF you are close enough to stock (like I am... stock, unlocked, rooted, with adfree, wifi tether for root, greenify, Quick boot, and a few other apps that require root), you can just flash stock recovery and take the OTA.
IF you are close enough to stock... you can also use the following... WITHOUT a PC... i.e. you haven't modified system too much, etc.
Place stock recovery.img, the latest TWRP img, the latest SuperSU.zip and the OTA.zip on your phone's DOWNLOAD folder.
Install Rashr.
Use Rashr to to flash stock recovery (select other from storage, and select your stock recovery). When it completes, pick the option to reboot to stock recovery.
From stock recovery, install the update zip and reboot the phone.
After the update install process is complete, use Rashr to flash TWRP (again, other from storage and pick your TWRP). When prompted, reboot into recovery (so twrp sticks). When in TWRP, select reboot to system.
If you lost root, reboot into TWRP recovery and install SuperSU.zip

Thanks for the tip. I believe I did it the way I mentioned because last time gravity box didnt have a wifi tether available so I had to modify the system files. this time I didnt touch them.
Flashing system.img is imo the smartest move to ensure the OTA takes. It's worth it as it only takes a minute and you don't have to even think about what you changed. Plus, it doesn't delete your data.
You are in there flashing stock recovery anyway, might as well.

I'm getting an error while attempting to flash the system.img. I don't remember the exact wording but it was something like "data exceeds download buffer". I flashed the recovery.img without issue. Yesterday I recieved my phone and I unlocked the bootloader as well as rooted using CF. Today I tried to flash the OTA LRX21O (I'm on LNX07M) in TWRP but I'm getting the error "Package expects build fingerprint of google/shamu/shamu:5.0/LNX07M/1543455: user/release-keys or google/shamu/shamu : 5.0/LRX210/1570415 : user/release-keys; this device has Android/aosp_shamu/shamu:5.0LRX21M/dees_troy11191312:userdebug/test-keys"
What the heck does this mean? I also tried flashing back to stock recovery but it just ended up with an android image with "error" below it. I'm assuming it ran into the same problem. Do I need to wipe and start all over??

You can't install the OTA if you rooted. You'll probably need to just install the factory images via fastboot.

5.0 essentially makes it break OTA when you root/modify anything. This has been known for a bit now (which is why I downloaded the update before I did any rooting/unlocking on my device).

It should be the same as the "back to stock" process
Download new (or old) factory images
Unzip and extract the IMG files
Take nandroid backup on phone
Reboot to recovery
Connect to PC (assuming drivers are installed)
Use fastboot to flash the necessary images
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot erase cache
Edit - flash the cache.img instead of just erasing cache
I had trouble flashing the factory image initially. I kept getting an error so I used this method and it worked perfectly. Hope it helps. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-fix-er...roid-5-0-factory-images-nexus-devices-1474865
So i am root and have done a bit of work on my Nexus 6 (changing system sounds, setting it up and a few other things) If i want to install LRX21O, what is the step by step to do that and after i install it if i do a Nandroid Backup, can i restore the backup on LRX21O? I am currently on LNX07M.
I am curious as well. Also do you happen to have a link to the file to just update.?
EDIT... Found it. Will flash when home

You don't reboot into recovery if you are using fas boot. You boot into boot loader at least that's how I've done it on every Nexus that I've had.

Disclaimer - don't blame me if something goes wrong
As title says, this is a full stock unmodified B20 TWRP system image. It kan be used in addition to stock boot and recovery images to restore the US A7 to conditions which will be like stock and allow to flash upcoming OTA. This was tested by @jkuczera here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3459107
Link to system image
https://cloud.swehes.com/index.php/s/31V7GgihohBCdfy
If you are BL unlocked, you will need to lock it before flashing old recovery and boot (this may not be necessary to get MR2 to flash, depending on what it checks, but the phone might not boot, unknown). This will make your phone verify boot, recovery and /system again, so flash TWRP from tenfar's thread to be able boot after relocking since his is signed
To restore, unzip the file above to TWRP folder on the SD Card, then in TWRP under mount points unmount /system and put check mark on mount system as read-only. The read-only part is important so that TWRP does not modify the /system apon exit. You can then restore boot, recovery and system image.
Another partition, fastboot, was altered if you applied B20_boot, but so far no OTA has check it so it should be fine as is. Chance is it will be just overwritten by next OTA, but in case that changes, info will be added. This step is more risky since it involves using dd command and has to be applied carefully.
EDIT: looks like @Unjustified Dev posted new build that will flash fastboot image http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68677272&postcount=133
You should then boot to stock recovery and factory wipe
In case you did not dump your boot and recovery, they can be found in @rczrider's post here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/untouched-b20-boot-recovery-files-t3443818
Thanks to @swehes for providing the space on his cloud for this file, @rczrider for rest of the files and @jkuczera for trying this all out
So you need TWRP for this, but will this overwrite the TWRP recovery and make it truly stock?

Indeed and before rebooting , you MUST Wipe Data + Internal Storage, cuz you are flashing new boot and system and will get in conflicts if there no wipe.
Just for clarity sake these are the steps I need to take to get back to B20 from B20_Boot?
1. fastboot oem lock
2. put system image from OP's post AND stock_boot_backup.img AND stock_recovery_backup.img from rczrider's post into TWRP folder.
3. in TWRP unmount /system and check mark on mount system as read only.
4. Flash boot, recovery, and system image.
5. Wipe Data and Internal Storage.
6. Profit?

Step 6 to pull your own: http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165
Or you can download the one I pulled from my device (it can be found in the Mega folder linked in the OP): http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/untouched-b20-boot-recovery-files-t3443818
And as option 3 it's inside the B18toB20 OTA file floating somewhere around here
Alright I tried this and something went wrong.
First thing I did was copy all the files where they needed to be. Then I booted into fastboot and did a "fastboot oem lock".
Then my device would do nothing. I would boot up to the ZTE logo then go black a second later. I tried to force into recovery by selecting recovery in fastboot but same thing, ZTE logo then blackness.
I got it back by getting into fastboot and performing a "fastboot oem unlock" again. All it did was wipe data.
What did I do wrong? I thought I am supposed to lock bootloader first before I restore system and flash recover and boot????

Ok so if you modified boot, system or recovery in anyway then after BL lock it will not boot since it will fail secure boot, so you need to load the signed TWRP from tenfar's thread via EDL after locking. That will let you run TWRP with locked BL. Although ig you just want stock for upcoming OTA, then you might be good staying unlocked. If for return, then you should lock it

I apologize if I am fundamentaly not understanding this but wouldn't it be easier to flash system, boot, recovery, and fastboot back to stock via my current twrp THEN relock bootloader?

Yeah, now that we know fastboot will work even on stock boot that will work as well. The only thing you won't be able to do is flash back the B20 fastboot image that way, but enough to pass OTA most likely. The long way you can revert the fastboot image as well. I only wanted to post the image to begin with, but then wrote out instruction as they rolled around in my head. This will change soon anyways so a proper write-up will happen, just not by me, Documentation was never my forte
My BL is unlocked from ZTE right now, If I want to get CM for future but also want upcoming update from ZTE? What are the exact steps that I need to follow to get future OTA but also keep the BL unlocked for future CM? Please help as I'm confused with all these instructions.

Can someone please explain exactly how to do this. I have an unofficial twrp on my phone and the bootloader is unlocked but after i tried to flash super su it got stuck on bootloop so I wiped every thing and I also accidentally wiped my os too. So now I don't have an os and I want to go back to stock. Can someone please explain step by step on how to fix this? I just got the phone.

All right I'm no expert either but I'll try to make this as straightforward as possible.
1) Format your SD card as exFAT. This is important as otherwise you will not be able to transfer the system image to your SD card since it is 6GB. To do this you can just plug it in to your PC, right click, Format and then select exFAT from the dropdown.
2) Download tenfar's tool for B20, rczrider's boot and recovery backup, and the system image backup from the link in the OP.
3) Create a new folder in /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/serial_number/.Move the stock_boot_backup and stock_recovery backup into the folder.
4) Using a program such as 7zip, extract the 6GB system image file and move it to the same folder.
6) Go to into fastboot mode. Before you do anything you have to relock the bootloader otherwise the system will be modified and you want to be 100? stock. Execute 'fastboot oem lock'. You should then boot to a black screen.
7) Unzip tenfar's tool. Go to the unzipped folder, then hold down shift+right click and select 'Open command window here'. Execute 'axon7root.exe -p [COMPORT #] -r. To figure out your com port #, go to Device Manager, then go to down to where it says "Qualcomm Loader..." and your com port number is the number at the end. So for example if your com port number is 5, you should execute axon7root.exe -p 5 -r. Allow the program to do its thing.
5) Boot into TWRP. Do not swipe to allow modifications. Once in TWRP, go to "Install", "Install Image" at the bottom right hand corner, and then navigate to the stock_recovery_backup in the folder that you moved it to to. Select it and then choose the Recovery partition to flash it to. Do the same thing for stock_boot_backup.
6) Once you have flashed boot and recovery, go to the main menu, then "Restore" and then Restore the system image backup.
7) Go to wipe and then slide to factory reset. Finally, reboot system.
Hope that helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Has anyone who requested the bootloader unlock from ZTE (and mistakenly installed it) returned to stock and been able to get OTA's? I followed this guide and seemed to have returned to stock fine but the only OTA I can get now is the bootloader unlock OTA. I've downloaded and discarded it several times but that is the only one I can get. Anyone know of a way to bypass this OTA and get the new MR2 that was just released? I want to get OTA's until the custom roms start flowing.
Thanks!

From what I can tell, once you apply for official bootloader unlock, your IMEI is placed on a list that will not get any future OTA updates set to it.
However, the OTA for B20 to B27 has been uploaded here: https://mega.nz/#F!kYtRAJjJ!5tD1zPpo0nw2tJwhANA9pQ
Try flashing that via stock recovery.
Quick question for anyone who might know.
The Link to system image which is : https://cloud.swehes.com/index.php/s/31V7GgihohBCdfy has the following;
1. system_image.emmc.win
2. system_image.emmc.win.md5
Am I suppose to rename system_image.emmc.win to system_image.emmc.img and load?
it's not as clear that's why I ask but I ended up downloading rczrider system.img and reflashed via TWRP since I was a bit confused.
Thanks!
***************
I simply just went into TWRP backed up by boot so it would create a directory that contains the info I needed copied the system_image.emmc.win and system_image.emmc.win.md5 and restored.

I suspected as much. I downloaded the update and tried to flash it via the stock recovery using the update for ADB option but it fails saying that the package is not a ks package. Booooo. I really wanted this MR becasue they addressed the weak cell signal which I think contributes significantly to my battery drain. Not sure if there are any alternatives to get the update installed. Not very a happy about the ceased OTA's due to the bootloader unlock. Thinking the new Nexus (or whatever they are going to call them) is looking pretty good at the moment.

Try the microSD card method instead.
First, make sure OEM Unlocking is checked in developer settings, rename the OTA to "update.zip", put on microSD, boot into stock recovery, and choose update from microSD.

Download the factory image of the version you desire to end up on.
Unzip it, then unzip the folder contained in it, then in a terminal/cmd run:
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-shamu-*.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-shamu-*.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
cd shamu-*
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Now, you said you wanted to retain root too, if that isn't the case, just run:
Code:
fastboot reboot
If you do still want root, download TWRP, cd to the Downloads directory, then either run:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.0-0-shamu.img
if you want to keep the stock recovery
OR
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-shamu.img
if you want to keep TWRP.
Now that you're on TWRP, just use file explorer to drag and drop the newest SuperSU zip (at the time of writing this, 2.79 is the latest stable, and SR3-2.79 is the latest beta) if you're on Windows or Linux, or use
Code:
adb push [I]nameofsupersu[/I].zip /sdcard/
.
Now reboot.
Have fun! It may take up to 15 minutes to boot (for dex-opting, and encrypting if you were decrypted and decided to re-encrypt), so don't interrupt that first boot process, just let it go. It will also need to "Optimize" all installed apps, so that could take a long while as well.

Bad reading by me. Sorry.
Nevertheless you can upgrade to 7.1.1 by flashing the lite ROM of Danvdh.
There is a possibility that dirty flashing will cause reboot issue. Backup first and update your bootloader and radio before flashing the ROM.
There's a thread with flashable zips with latest bootloader/radio.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59728002/
Latest TWRP: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/shamu
Why is everyone recommending the difficult ways???
Just download the OTA image from google and sideload it from your PC.
You don't even need TWRP, unloaded bootloader or root access to do it and you won't loose any data or settings.
More info and OTA images at https://developers.google.com/android/ota
This is a short guide on rooting for thous who are new to this stuff
Steps:
1: download adb platform tools from here
2: Unlock bootloader. follow the guide on htcdev.
make sure you have htc drivers installed so that you can use oem command in fastboot mode for unlocking
3: Download TWRP
4: Download SuperSU and copy it to your phone's internal memory
5: Enable USB debugging and type "adb reboot-bootloader" from pc
6: Type: "fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-0-alpine.img"
make sure you have twrp image in same folder as adb.
7: Wait for sometime you will boot into twrp recovery from there select install and select the SuperSU zip file
8: reboot and check for root

You should make sure you get a pristine backup at hand, or a RUU appropriate to your device. Otherwise you'll never be able toreturn to a full stock system.
On the U11 it is possible to boot TWRP from fastboot, without flashing it and thus without touching stock recovery. That way I've been able to flash Magisk what's coming with MagiskSU and the possibility to use some Modules. And all without altering the system or replacing stock recovery in the first place.

Connect phone to PC, boot into bootloader mode and type fastboot boot name_of_recovery.img that'll just boot the custom recovery as opposed to flashing it, that way you can make a nandroid backup of all partitions including stock recovery.

The guys method of using recovery to backup recovery will only work on Philz… Not twrp as it does not always backup stock recovery properly. The proper way to backup stock recovery is..
1. Root your phone, which can be done by towel root or by just booting a recovery like he said,
fastboot boot twrporwhatever.img, then flash supersu
2. Boot phone that has stock recovery
3. adb shell
4. su "watch your phone to grant root adb access if you haven't ever done it"
5. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p43 of=/sdcard/recovery.img
6. This will put flashable recovery.img on your internal sd card. Copy this and save it for later
7. "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" will get you back to stock recovery, "fastboot flash recovery twrporwhatever.img" to flash custom recovery.

If possible and a TWRP recovery is available one should boot to bootloader and try if the command fastboot boot name_of_twrp.img works. Make sure to NOT grant r/w at first boot and leave it ro. Now you can perform a backup of stock recovery, boot and system image (not system partition!) to obtain a pristine backup.
All else will alter system partitions md5 and the backup won't be pristine any longer. Due to block based OTA policy introduced by Google you won't be able to OTA without a pristine system image.
