[Q] HTC desire 510 telus - HTC Desire 510

hello evrybody,
This is my first post, and my question is simple, I bought an HTC Desire 510 telus and I want to use it in my country Algeria (north Affrica), now the phone is already unlocked but i can use only 2G networks (GSM & EDGE) unfortunetly ,the 3G (WCDMA) is not working, because, the frequencies used in my country for WCDMA is 1900 uplink and 2100 downlink, is it possible to change Rom or Modem to connect on 3G network in my country?
thanks in advance

Goodmorning,
I think that there is no one who want to help me :crying:, anyway, I saw, in this forum, that we can unlok all bands in order to use the phone in different country, but the post spoken about Virgin CDMA, can I use the same TUTO to unlock the bands on my phone.
Regards

Hey @mckira25 .. Not sure which tuto you're referring to, if it suggests using a DFS/CDMA tool or NVRAM writer or QPST to change value 1877 to include the bands, you're in the right direction. Please use caution though, if any issues occur while making these changes or if you ignore any steps, it could leave you with a bricked phone.
Also, while making the changes, do not remove existing bands, just add the bands that you need. Also, navigate to *#*#INFO#*#* and change the preferred network.
Cheers.

[Q] Which Version for T-Mobile?

Can someone tell me 100% for certain which version of the Incredible S I would need to be able to use on T-Mobile's 3G?
hey, I also wanna know about this... which is the best option either to buy HTC set in Malaysia, or buy a new one in US??
You want to get the s710e, I use that model on Tmo.
The Incredible S has all world bands as it is a world phone. It is unlocked, and can be used on any network, and can use all 3G speeds on any network.

not entirely true. yes, the Inc S box in your posts shows you can use all world networks for voice and EDGE networks. however, you need the 710a if you want to use at&t's 850/1900 3G network. looking at your picture, you'll notice that the 850/1900 band is not listed next HSPA/WCDMA settings. 710e is what's needed for T-Mo USA to access their 3G network

You are correct. Sorry about that. I thought it covered all 3G bands. I'm actually looking to get one myself for use on T-Mo USA, and the person who told me said it will work for both T-Mo and AT&T in USA, but now I see. At least it will work for my needs. I do have a question regarding the languages. For those who have one does it have English (US)? I'm currently using a Desire HD in the states, but it's only 2G here, and it only has English (UK), and it limits the phone for me.

[Q] Does the HTC One support wind mobile?

I want to get the HTC One but apparently it does not support my carrier bands. It appears that the t-mobile version of htc one has the required 1700 band but I am not too sure if I am doing this right. Basically does the t-mobile version of htc one work with wind? (wind apparently supports only the aws band, the full FAQ on wind's website:
There are a few criteria for bringing your own unlocked phone with you to WIND:
a) Must be compatible with our network. The WIND Mobile network uses a frequency called AWS, with bands 1700/2100.
b) Must NOT be locked to another carrier
c) Phones compatible with the U.S. T-Mobile network often work with WIND)
If not, are there any versions of the one that do? I don't really feel like going all the way over to the us to get the phone but if there are no other alternatives, I guess I'll just have to do it. Thanks.
Anyone? A simple yes or no would be ok for me.
I've wind in italy, i don't know if is the same, but for me works fine...

[Q] Will my One work in Japan?

Hi, I'm going to Japan in a month and a half. I was under the impression that my phone wouldn't work as they don't use GSM over there. However I was looking in my phone settings yesterday and I found an option to set it to WCDMA.
Does this mean that I could get a SIM card in Japan and use my phone while I am over there?
Thanks in advance.
Well, really depends which variant of the One you have...
Also it's a misconception that Japan doesn't use GSM. They have HSPA GSM 3G everywhere

Sorry should have covered that. It's a Three branded One in the UK so I assume it's just a simlocked international version. This has made me remember that I will need to get the simlock removed.
UK models should be the 801n, so you're supported on 900/1900/2100 frequencies.

[Q] International Version ???

Hi there
I want to buy the HTC ONE "again", but the problem is that I'm not sure which one.
After some research, I've found that there are several different versions of the HTC ONE:
HTC 801n ONE, ONE HTC 801e, 801a ONE HTC, HTC ONE 801W ...
Well why "again"?
Thing is that I had one until recently, the 801n, i got through a contract renewal in Switzerland, and I was very very happy with it!
But the trouble started when I went on a trip again. I travel a lot between Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the US, and due prolonged
stays in these countries, I have a simcard in each country, as well as prepaid and contract, each with internet access (3G and 4G).
Now in Mexico I noticed that my brand new HTC ONE 801n, was not compatible with the frequencies used here (3G, 850Mhz with Telcel Mexico), which made it useless as a smartphone. Therefore I sold it. But I loved this phone, so I am going to buy me a new HTC One!
Question is, which HTC ONE is the right for me?? Also I read everywhere on the internet about an "international" HTC one, an "international version"??
Is this one of the above versions I mentioned? "International," does it mean that it will work with all the frequencies in all the countries I travel to? With at least 3G Internet can use, perhaps even with 4G? And where do they sell it? And how can I identify it?
Thanks for your help

Not really, because already sold mine europe htc one, and looking for a new international one, which I can use in in europe and in the US, without hacking or flashing it.
And as noob in the smartphone area, i wouldnt be able to do it,even right now i am having problems to understand what they are talking about in the other thread
International version means it isn't locked to any specific carrier yoy basically any sim from any country should work. You should check that the network frequencies that the phone can handle are compatible with the country that you're visiting but a quick check of the phone specs will tell you that.

You just need to look at the table in the first post
First, find out what 3G/4G frequencies are available with what carriers in each country you travel to. Then you can pick a model that will provide the most coverage. Just going off the 850MHz 3G requirement, you have a few variants to choose from.

US and in Mexico , 3G 850 MHz , and one thing i read was that if the 850 MHZ are not supported by the phone, it seems that it doesnt matter that all other frecuencies avaible in the coutry are supported, the phone wont work with 3G, no matter what. is that right.
No beeing right now most of the time in Mexico for the rest of the year, thinking to buy the HTC One in the US HTC online shop, the unlocked version, 600 USD,
and it says
This HTC OneĀ® unlocked version comes with: 32GB of onboard memory and is SIM unlocked.
- HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz
- GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US)
Now, at Telcel Mexico , they told, if I buy a phone in the US, it has to be an ATnT compatible phone, and it will work without a problem in Mexico, same frecuencies as AtnT.
Are those the frecuencies used by AtNT??
If the only 3G frequency your carrier supports is 850Mhz, then it doesn't matter what other frequencies the phone is capable of.
Look at the table in the HTC One variants thread, and compare the frequencies of that phone with what is listed for AT&T. And more importantly, what Telcel Mexico support.
What about 4G and Europe, are they high or low priority? The Asian variant supports 850Mhz 3G and has a good overlap with the European 3G and 4G frequencies, but not the US 4G frequencies. What do you consider more important?

[Q] Regarding 4G LTE Support outside USA

Hello.
I live in a counntry with both GSM and 4G LTE networks. Reading this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/help/virgin-mobile-htc-desire-510-gsm-t2965839 for the efforts of unblocking GSM bands thre is something I don't understand. If I buy the Sprint version of the phone, it is posible for me to use it outside USA with a 4G LTE capable SIM without having to unblock GSM Bands? Or do I need to have CDMA support in my country to be able to use the phone?
Thanks.
You would need a CDMA network; it's not working on GSM networks!
