I let it charge to 100% around 1am, unplugged and work up at 730am. Battery was on 85%. No use at all.
During regular use it seems to drain quickly. I've disabled probably 20 apps.

I'm pretty happy with my battery life so far
Does Verizon have an immediate ota update like tmobile? I didn't he update right away and seems solid enough. Not as good as my g3, but way smaller of a battery in the edge.
Disable the Amazon App Suite from Applications manager. This has been the culprit for every carrier on the S6. If you use Amazon app store, download it through amazon directly (it is a different app than the one included with the phone).
Your problem will be solved right away!!
Also, the Edge display (not the contact color part, but the clock and news feed) is a battery drain.
another problem with alot of s6 owners, aside from the stock amazon app, is there has been alot of battery drain if using wifi. I had wifi on most of the time and noticed a drain from cell standby... once you turn off the wifi that never comes up and drain is perfectly fine... no cell standby battery drain...
My battery was terrible the first day, ok the second day, and far better today. Seems like it has a time it needs to settle down.
I haven't gotten >3.5 hours screen on time yet. Which kind of stinks.
Disabled a few more apps today, will see if they helps any.
Sure have been getting use out of the quick charging though.

Sorry, I didn't look at that before I plugged it in.
Almost 6 hrs of screenon time use, Netflix for 30 mins...Facebook and texting. Screen set at around 30% brightness. Happy with my S6.
Not disappointed in how short the overall battery is...it does what I want and need it to do.
Yesterday my phone was dead from 6am to 6pm today at 5pm still have 47% left and I definitely used it more today. Better with age?
Hello I just gave my first full charge to my phone and the cell stand by is at the top, is there a way to avoid this or we going to accept to live with it, thanks for your help.
my battery wasn't too bad either

My battery indicator also drops from 100% to 96% a few seconds after i take out the charger. But after 2 days i stille have about 15% battery left.

My battery life increased after upgrading to gingerbread. I can usually go through the day (15 hours) with 3g always on, twitter and fb sync on, with light gaming and surfing of the web, 75% brightness.
My record was 2 days 9 hours with 0% brightness, no 3g, only wifi, no gaming, twitter and fb sync on.
For your percentage problem, you can try draining your battery, then when the phone shuts down, hold the power button to switch it on again. Start up an intensive app like a game to further drain the power. Do this until the phone does not start up (no bootscreen), then plug into the charger and charge overnight. DO NOT turn the phone on during the charge. When you turn on your phone after the overnight charge, it should read 100%
I am not too sure what triggers this, but its likely due to battery memory or something, although this should not be happening for lithium batteries. Maybe its a software fault. Do this every month or so to hit that 100% indicator. It is not advisable to do this all the time as draining the battery completely MAY damage the battery over time. Cheers!
How did you manage to get pass 2days of usage?

Hey,
I'm also having the same issue. Off the charger, BANG! 96% or so, sometimes more. My phone will be at 90% after like 3 texts. Its only had 5 charges mind you, I know there's a "conditioning" time but still, is this normal? I can almost say a text is a percent...my 3gs had more batt life after 1yr... now that's saying something...haha
I can almost watch it drain with the screen on...like 60 secs is a percent or 2...not cool...
Maybe I can do the "Desire Battery Calibration" procedure after a few more full charges...might make a diff...what do you guys think? I may be jumping the gun here...
Thanks in advance.
I remember someone said modern phones are designed not to keep on charging after reaching 100% and resume only after dropping to certain level, maybe 9x%. That could be the reason why I see different percentage left every day I unplug the phone in the morning. But my last Hero always show 100%.

That sounds right, because it drops from 100% to 96% after a few seconds, and its direct from 100 to 96.
But if you put the charger back it taks a couple of minuts to get from 96% to 99% and about 10 minuts to go from 99% to 100%
As far as i have noticed, this was the issue with X100 too after 2.1 update-
Once connected to the wall socket, the phone charges to 100% and starts dropping.
it does not charge again unless you reconnect the charger.
till the time it is connected, it will display as 100% but once you remove it drops to how much ever time has been spent since it reached 100%.
why that happens, i really don't know.
Ideally the phone should continue charging if the level is below 100. anyways....
about the battery backup, i think 13-15 hours is quite good for a phone with this display and capabilities.
with 3g, a little gaming, surfing, chatting etc. this should really do.
in fact, post the 2.3.3 update, the battery life has definitely increased.

I am on a VzW Inc2 w/ Froyo so not sure how applicable any of this is for you guys...but anyway....
My battery life is fantastic. I too see the 100% down to whatever after unplugging - I am pretty sure this is like others have said; once it reaches 100% during charging it stops charging and does not start again until you unplug and it re-plug it in. I know in my case charging from dead to 100% only takes like 3 or 4 hours. So if you are plugging your phone in when you go to bed it is probably hitting 100% after 3-4 hours and then the rest of the night it is draining down...
I have found JuiceDefender Ultimate and JuicePlotter to be huge helps to me in decreasing battery drain (JD) and understanding what uses the battery (JP).
Also just going into settings, About Phone, Battery, Battery use - this helps understand what is using it.
*Note: JuiceDefender Ultimate can create more problems than good if you are not willing to take the time to learn/set it up.
Prior to using JD and JP I would generally make it through the day, sometimes have a bit of power left over. After using these I always make it through the day, and sometimes through 2 days.
But let's not kid anyone - what JD does you CAN do manually...but more than likely wont or will forget. So for anyone that doesnt want to use JD, do you leave your WiFi on all the time, or do you switch it on/off? Leaving it on all the time drains battery. When WiFi is available, do you use it? I have found WiFi on this phone to use a lot less battery than 3G.
Probably my favorite function of JD I have it disable 3G and WiFi when the screen is off (for getting emails, updates, etc... you can set a schedule where it turns it back on during intervals or whatever).
Also I like the WiFi Location setting - you can teach it where you use WiFi and it will automatically turn WiFi on/off based on your location.
Anyway - my guess is if you are having low battery life, either you are using the device a lot more than you think (voice calls use a lot of battery), you have things syncing too often, or you are leaving radios/etc... on all the time that do not need to be on.
I tried to take the charger out at the same time the battery was on 100% and the LCD light went green.
Then the battery stayed at 100% for about 11 minuts and then went down to 99%.
After 3 1/2 houres the battery is at 95%!!!!!!!!
Bagground Data is enabled.
3G is active.
I have mail check every 15 minuts.
Screen brightnes at 40%
Weather update every 1 houre.
I don't use Facebook, Twitter, Stcoks and News.
I don't understand the battery in my IncS...
You guys know that these batteries don't have memory right? So when you charge doesn't matter, your phone just thinks there is that percentage of battery, do a full drain once and then it should back on track. Also, these batteries never get charged to 100%, its a safety precaution or something of that sort. They hover around 94-96% which is why the phone drops down to that area in what seems like a short amount of time. The fact that the phone says 100% when you unplug it is for effect. I used to always think I had battery problems, just stop being so worried about the battery and you'll notice an improvement. Hope this helped.

Also draining them completely flat, as in device won't power on, is the worst thing you can do to them
It sort of kills off a little of the capacity, every time you do it
So to the bloke that recommended it, no it does more damage than good

I'm finding turning to GSM only helps massively. I mean, so it should but I was hoping I didn't have to do this all the time, like I had to with my 3GS... And its a pain in the butt having to change it.
Still cant find a widget that will do it for me...not mobile data, ACTUAL WCDMA-GSM and back...

I tell you is true, and i don't understand i either!!!
Most of the 17 houres the phone was only in standby and i only read mail twice.
I guess its just a fantastic ROM that Mike1986 has made with no Sense ;-)
I can get a day and a half out of my IncS with heavy use on a pretty regular basis. Set brightness to automatic, switch off unnecessary auto updates, GPS, bluetooth, and keep volume down or off in games. My screen timeout is 1 min (reduce for longer battery life), and I have always on internet switched off. I generally leave my Wi-Fi on a lot by mistake but don't find this to affect things too much really.
You will get 96% a lot after a charge as it is bad for your battery to stay plugged in when it's fully charged, so the s/w on HTC phone switch the charge off for a little while so it runs down a little and back up again. I had Hero before and that did this as well.
juice defender ultimate is excellent in my experience.
i had it set to switch on data every 5mins for 15secs to receive notifications and do updates (i have quite lot syncing - twitter, fb, sky news widgets x2, weather) and i would sometimes have gotten 30 hours out of the phone (ie. i wouldnt have charged it 2 nights in a row sometimes), but always easily 1 full day.
im getting sick of having to use JD though, because i figured something HAD to be wrong as my battery would drain in maybe 5-8 hours without JD which I just dont think is good enough and so could not be how its meant to be.
i then read about some people having problems with cyanogen rom battery drain, and that if you switch off android market notifications, it solves it.
so i tried it, charged my phone to 99% again and im now at 82% after 5 hours 10mins, which means if i keep using the phone at this rate, ill make it 25 hours - which is more than good enough for me. (~and i still have all the same stuff syncing as before, except market notifications~)
also i have wifi set to never sleep, so its always on. (its my ideal that everything that you buy the phone for should be able to be kept on 24/7, eg data, gps etc always on - so i keep them like that. bluetooth i dont use though - if i can make it through the day on a charge with decent use, im happy)
try it.
im calling BS on jkolner btw - pics or it didnt happen
I've owned the Samsung Focus S now for 12 days. I came from an android bionic. I have owned Windows Phones before, the Venue Pro and the Hd7. But this is my first Samsung.
For the first few days, the battery life was fine, a full day. But this past week I find my self hard pressed to reach a full work day. I don't play music during the day nor do I have many, if any calls. Mostly SMS and internet.
I've turned off as many background tasks as acceptable, limited the number of live tiles, set brightness to auto, and check email off of push. Yet this morning I reached 20% in about 8 hours.
In addition, I find the time to charge is extremely long. It might take 4-6 hours to fully charge from 80%.
Is this normal for a Samsung?? My other windows phones, and my bionic certainly do no present the same battery problems as this one does.
Thoughts, or is this usual?
Do you have wi-fi turned on? This is a real battery burner...
My Focus S usually goes through about a day and a half before I need to recharge. That's with a few phone calls, some messages, a bit of wi-fi browsing at night, etc. Email only gets checked every hour but it's on 3 different accounts.

while I'm home WiFi is on. Away from home its off. This is normal behavior for all my phones. All of them last at least 18-24 hrs, under the same condition.
Took it back to art. They said , lets try a different battery. I'm willing to try it for now.
I just wanted to add to this as I seem to be experiencing a similar issue.
I purchased my phone at the end of Dec, it's been great.
Now, since around a week ago I've been having issues. I used to get roughly 2 days use per charge and it used to charge quickly.
Now, the phone runs hot, the battery drains in 6 hours or less, and it takes many hours to recharge.
I turned off the one app running in the background. I turned off wi-fi. It doesn't seem to help. The battery itself doesn't seem to be too hot, but it's hard to judge.

I did a factory reset, and got a new battery. I then reinstalled less than half of my existing apps. In addition I've set my display brightness to medium.
Battery life has doubled, and the charging is much quicker.
Read an article yesterday about ads in free apps eating about 35% more battery. Who knows.
Even if they're running in the background? My Focus S takes a lot of time to charge and decharges so fast. 35% is no joke.

I'm also having some kind of battery issue, I have 2 batteries and they are both 100% charged but by the end of the day one is completely dead and the other is about 20%. I use my phone a lot for music and browsing over 4g and WiFi, but I charge by battery to 100% then go to the battery saver setting and at 100% it says time remaining about 5 hours. An when I turn on battery saver it says about 6 hours. On a full charge this seems crazy. Also with the homebrew battery monitor app. It says my phone is using over 4000mV. With screen set to low and in airplane mode. This is wierd.

4000mV? I assume you mean mA? not mV? 4000mV is only 4V which is about right, your voltage shouldn't change much, perhaps +-10% tops
if you do in fact mean Amps...
4000mA is 4A an hour, your battery would be dead in about 20 min at that rate and probably in fire as well
So, lets look at this in a different way,
2 batteries, that's about 3.3Ah max, you only had about 20% left in one which is approx 330mA so lets call it an even 3A of juice burned during your day.
An Average long day at work 12 hours
that's 250mAh current draw every single hour of that 12 hour day.
250 is quite high, but normal with the screen on and high brightness an wifi, however that isn't normal if you are normal and don't sit at your phone each hour for an hour for a whole day.
Things that can send your phone off on a amp burning spree? most common one is the backlight, set it to auto, and have a dark /black theme, AMOLED is the opposite to normal LCD screens where having a white background was best,
Next up is your signal strength, low 3G signal will eat your battery (4G is worse but thankfully we don't have that)
keep battery saving on all the time, it only kicks in when it needs to but I have seen dramatic differences having it turned off even with a full battery, im not sure what it changes when its not down to low battery but it does something.
background tasks can play a part but are minimal on WP.
I have 3 accounts on push sync, wifi and Bluetooth always on (but not always connected), I use it a lot during the day including several phone calls and web browsing, I start work at 8am, finish at 7 or 8 PM and im still sitting with 50% battery...
that works out at an average of just under 70mAh. that's about the normal level id expect, its double that if I turn battery saver off (even though it wont kick in until the last hour of the day)
oh I can make it go quicker when I show off the full capability's of our screens too
I can't believe how incredible the battery life is on my Sprint Note 4. To give you a real world example of what I'm talking about...I'm a ups guy and stream Sirius over my phone to my wireless boombox all day while I'm delivering. My previous android phone on a full charge would get me to about 1PM before needing to charge the phone from this streaming.
With my Note 4 today I started streaming sirius at about 8:30am this morning and streamed it non stop all day for 10 hours. While streaming I also browsed the internet on lunch for about 40 minutes of screen on time for that. I then made about 40 minutes of phone calls after work on the way home. After all of that...I still have 60% battery life left without any charging today.
Man I love this phone!

I simply can't agree more dude the batt life on this beast is simply incredible I'm averaging around 13-15hours off charge with 6-7hours On Screen, take note (pun intended ) that when I put it on charge when I go to bed I still have well over 25% battery remaining, its simply incredible, even for us heavy users.
Must have a lemon
I have had my phone for about 3 days and I charge it to 100% before going to bed. When I wake up the battery life has dropped all the way into the 60s. before this phone I had a note 2 and this is way worse than it was. Screen was obviously off all night. Any suggestions appreciated!

It all depends on what you have running in the background. Push notifications? I've frozen all bloatware and turned off push. Is your wifi on maybe? gps? I leave mine unplugged all night (12 hours) and it goes down 3%

Did you install anything special like Greenify? Did you use any of the extra battery saving modes? What is your screen brightness set to?
I think the Sprint version is the Snapdragon, not Exynos, right?
I absolutely loved my Note 2 battery life, but this Note 4 battery life surpasses my Note 2 by a fair margin. I am one happy camper.
Edit: Sprint SD version.
I'm getting less battery life than I expected with my Exynos note 4. I just got out of bed and unplugged it , and used it for about 15 mins to browse tapatalk and email and etc. And in that 15 mins I lost 5% .
I also noticed a high Android System in my usage. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
This is screen cap.
Mine today
Im only plugging in now at 24% because im going to bed.... actually i have a second battery i might let it run overnight
Pretty good

If you have battery issues, make sure you are not syncing to drop box or google photo back up all times. For example, I use photos to back up all my photos but in the settings I have it only back up when plugged in to the charger. Hopefully this might help someone.

Nothing special installed for battery life and not using the power saving modes. I keep the screen set to auto brightness when at work, but put it on max brightness at home on the weekends when I know I have chargers available because I love the nice bright display. Yes, I have Sprint which has the Snapdragon 805.
I turn off GPS & Wifi when I'm working for battery saving & privacy purposes, but leave bluetooth on all day. I don't have my microsoft email auto synced, but have gmail pushed.
Here are the results from today (attached). Still well over half a battery left after midnight.
To all the people with battery woes-
Pause your pedometer in s health and remove pedometer from lock screen(of course if you don't use it much). It saves a hell lot of battery. It did at least on my SD805 note 4.. I am a heavy user with 3g on all day but never run out of juice. Screen on time averages 7-8 hours daily with browsing/playing games/chatting. I have wifi, synch and gps off when i am not using them.
And yeah i charge every morning, but have never seen my battery less than 39% when i charge lol. This beast is incredible. *super satisfied*
Hi all, bit of background, I had my Z3c for just over 2 years and 6 months, heard the news about the XZ1c and soon as it was out I jumped at the chance of buying it.
Sadly, I haven't bonded too well with it.
Compared to my Z3c the battery life hasn't been all that good even using stamina. That's with minimal screen on time too. My Z3c used to do almost 2 days, this I can get a day and that's barely! Greenify is in use to kill apps etc.
After a full charge with battery care enabled I'm losing a load of charge and God knows where...!
SwiftKey absolutely sucks on this phone unless I have stamina turned off.
Vibration is bad, I've had to turn it off on the keyboard.
I also want to find a way to mod the stamina mode 3 so it's device performance but kills data too just as per the Z3C.
I'll attach some screen shots too so you can see what I mean... Just a bit disappointed.
Your experience is similar to mine. I have about 30% left when the day is over and that is with having about 2-3 hours of screen time. I turned off the majority of location and updates and keep screen brightness to a minimum. Despite not being as good as what I was expecting, it's better than the Pixel I had before this phone which couldn't make it through my usual 16 hour day without being plugged in.
that an estimated time only, depending on your history use.
but yeah z3c was kinda king with battery... i dont think this one will be. Sna835 is powerefficientier but remember that apps will be alway hungrier too.
It's better than majority of phones on the market... I think the Z3C spoilt us though, it was definitely king, even at its age it still gives well over 36 hours use.
Im having a great time with my xz1c.
My first charge
My first full charge is pretty good 51 hours alive with 5,5 hours screen on time.
I have disabled vibrations when typing, manual screen brightness (most of the time set at about 1/3), sync on all the time, Wi-Fi and LTE enabled all the time
Use gmaps, chrome, played 1:40h heavy game... Im satisfied with it..
The only strange thing I see is high battery drop over night.
It goes more than 10%, I was hoping for 3%. Phone idle battery consumption is on top then. I hope it will change in the future ROMs.
Do you guys see it also?

you can limit an app on background and also limit its data use. make a test: close all aps overnight and see if it changes.

I'm gonna try this, as I'm also seeing a big battery drop overnight. My Z3c used to drop 2% overnight, this drops massively.
I think the stamina mode isn't the same as previous z compact phones. Really really struggling to bond with this phone man lol.

well see if there is app eating your battery in the battery stats. if yes than choose the option on the app to limit it on background. Dont forget to limit its data plan on background too in the data plan menu.
reboot the phone. close all aps and go to sleep.
tell us if something changed.
Lost 2% in my 8 hour sleep.

I've noticed that Google Play Services seems to get the hump if you have any extended stamina mode. When I check app battery usage with stamina mode on, GPS is one of the top users. But not there with stamina mode off. If fact stamina mode seems to use more battery than if its turned off. I need to do a few more charges to confirm.
Battery life is excellent btw, better than any phone I have had before. Regularly getting to three days of use.
I have power mode activated with zx1 compact I disable the vibration jacket and some useless application kindeXXX is still improved battery life

So it's been a few days! So far I've:
- Changed my SwiftKey setting to vibration off,
- stamina mode changes to performance orientated instead of battery life biased like before,
- auto brightness off
- Limited MANY app's background data and background running as above (cheers for that mate)
- priority mode on to alert me of important calls only, everything else just uses the notification light with no sounds.
I'm now finally, because of the above, beginning to see 2 days battery life almost 3 days last week!
Still more to do for good battery like instead of just stamina mode On like on the Z3C but hey I guess I can live with it!
So as happy as I am... Still can't get to the bottom of why it loses the first 10% so fast?! Check this out, taken off charge like just over an hour ago and I've lost 4% already!
From 80% onwards it lasts a good while but damn man why's it losing the initial 10% or so that fast?!
This is my battery life for the last few days, it's been good... But this is doing my head in, losing first 10%so fast...
... And I've lost another 2% since that last post! Ffs man.

Can you tell me what is the Firmware of your device ?
Lost 15% of the battery while my 10hr sleep today. Very strange. My Z3c used to eat no more than 3% without any limitations, closing apps or stamina mode.
Help everybody,
I've bought the phone 3 days ago. Battery life is very bad, getting around 3 hrs SOT using Spotify, Facebook, Reddit and Instagram. Mobile data is always on, Bluetooth was on for 2 hours
Is there any way to improve battery life?

Ne Firmware should make things even better
I would try recalibrating the battery, I have found that it lasts very long after hitting 1%, and others have also found that the phone continues charging for a bit after hitting 100% (even with the LED being green). So completely drain the phone, let it charge to 100% and when it hits 100%, give it like half an hour more.
Also, disabling 5G in the Network settings should help. If you are underground (with bad cell signal), I would suggest you enable Airplane mode and then enable Wifi. This will prevent the phone from constantly searching for a better cell signal. Doing this helped me reduce idle drain.
Last night with a few videos + today, I got a total of 3h40 at 120hz durable mode (Charge limit to 90% and the phone is still at 15% battery left).

I got it via OTA.
Also you probably need to set up other (was tired yesterday evening):
dynamic mode
5g off
90 Hz Display (I don't really see the difference between 90/120)
Wifi, BT, location always on
I get around 7 h of SOT fully charged and 5 hours brings me from bed to bed.
Yeah 5g off makes a lot of difference to me. I also use Naptime.
I see a big change with location off. Just put it on qith quick toggle when needed. The standby is much much better with just this change for me. I have 5G because my plan doesn't allow it either way.
As others said, it's about 5-6 SoT, normal use on its stock Asus Android OS.
After installing LineageOS on now I got 8+ SoT.
Due to the clean LineageOS, 60Hz screen refreah rate, battery saver always on, no google spying services installed, 100% google free,no blotware, no whatsapp no facebook...
Phone now lasts me comfortably a full day of work (sometimes day and half).
I use it for work not as my playstation.
I'm super happy.
Btw, your post is duplicate with other post, That post has other feedbacks that may help you, better to stick to that post.
